Modified: It's funny that you keep posting something Klopp said in 2016 to justify your argument... 2016 was 6 years ago.. A lot of things have changed... In 2016, how many players were being signed for over 100m? Klopp has still managed to balance the books at Liverpool..Nunez transfer fee will be funded from the sale of Mane and some other fringe players... So it's no big deal..

Nunez has played less games but Osimhen has the edge due to the level of leagues he has featured in.

andrewbaba44:
Scudetto doesn’t matter ,but it will be very big for him if he wins it and a plus

And yes he needs 1 more year at Napoli

Osimhen is destined for great things ,better stats than 100 million Darwin Nunez

We need to study how Darwin Nunez is more expensive than vlahovic and Haaland

You just spoilt your post with the last few sentences.

Charles was highlighting the SE's lack of quality options in defence, but here you are going of tangent mentioning a Elijah scoring goals in the championship when we already have decent forwards playing across the top 5 European leagues.

If you had mentioned decent CBs playing in the championship that would have helped your argument but no you can never miss an opportunity to drop agenda.

komekn:
With regards to Osaze he is simply not good enough from what I've seen. Right from when he was at Sheffield Wednesday.

Valentine Ozornwafor, John Nwankwo are simply just starting their career and there is nothing to report of substance.

Alhassan l know nothing about so no comments Onyedika is playing in the lowly Danish league more or less first season. Not sure what makes him exceptional.

That league is on par with English league one, if l were to suggest a number of Nigerian origin players in League one all of you would start doing summersaults.

Double standard and hypocrisy anchored on sentiment based favouritism.

Elijah Adebayo scored 16 goals in the Championship this season just ended, has any body talked about him.

There is a good number of Nigerian origin CB in the Championship but not one mention but we keep talking about expired players like Shehu, Omeruo, etc

Nothing much can be gotten from this result to access the true standing of the team but at least it shows a mental shift. Our teams have to play with ruthless aggregation to always want to win every match. This kind of mentality will serve us well when we start encountering tougher opposition

In the wrestling business as a top guy there will eventually come a time when you will have to do what is good for ''business''. The Undertaker made a young wet behind the ears Randy Orton look credible in their first match together because he recognised his potential.

Guys like Taker, Bret Hart, Mick Foley to mention a few are loved and respected not just because of what they achieved or their wrestling ability but for the selflessness they show in willing to put others over.

Why do you think a legend like Hulk Hogan is disliked.

ValeeLove:
I just have one question for you. Let's say you're in a wrestling company and you're part of the top guys. And in this company, you get paid based on your level on the card - upper card, mid card, lower card. With this knowledge in mind, knowing he would suddenly get paid more than you, would you like to 'put over' another wrestler?
Politics › Re: Between A Muslim-Muslim Ticket and A Return Of Presidency to North by chrisooblog: 1:05pm On Jun 10, 2022
But that's the thing in the history of Nigerian elections the presidential candidates that won did so mostly on their own steam without much contribution from the vice. OBJ in 1999 & 2003 what was Atiku's contribution? In 2003 even with rigging PMB still flogged OBJ in the north.

In 2007 who knew GEJ at the time that translated to votes for Yar Adua in the south?

In 2011 did Sambo save GEJ from getting brutalised by PMB in the north?

Who knew Prof Yemi Osinbajo in the south for 2015 that helped PMB win?

In my opinion Tinubu has already built the necessary alliances in the north that can realistically garner votes he doesn't need to complicate things with this muslim/muslim kite you're flying.

PassingShot:
I don't know of any northern christian who can bring him the needed votes
Politics › Re: Between A Muslim-Muslim Ticket and A Return Of Presidency to North by chrisooblog: 12:17pm On Jun 10, 2022
Under normal circumstances a muslim-muslim ticket shouldn't be a big deal, but the Nigeria of today is vastly different from the Nigeria in 1993 where MKO was able to win the presidential election.

The sad reality is that the country is even more divided today along religious/ethnic lines. Most people around the country need reassurance and the unfiltered truth is that a Christian/Muslim ticket is what will calm many people down before we even begin to talk about campaign manifesto no matter how progressive.

The northern governors appreciated the need to be sensitive to regional feelings that's why they said the south should produce the presidency even though it's not explicitly stated in the Nigerian constitution that the office of the president will be rotated between north and south.

Plus how many people will be comfortable with a Christian - Christian ticket if the roles were reversed?

If Tinubu decides to pick a Muslim vice he will definitely lose that's not a prediction but a spoiler alert.

Sometimes you have to do things to guarantee peace and tranquillity even when it's within your rights not to do so.

PassingShot:
I have read a lot of people saying "no to Muslim-Muslim ticket" even before Asiwaju emerged. Now that he has emerged as the standard bearer of APC with Atiku as the major challenge to him, I wonder why a Muslim-Muslim ticket of Tinubu presidency is not better than a return of the presidency to north possibly for another eight years after 8 years of PMB.

Like or loathe APC, it has demonstrated being a truly progressive party by standing with a return of the presidency to the South even after Atiku had emerged as PDP's candidate. PDP damned everything common sense by making Atiku emerge with possibility of keeping the presidency in the north and a lot of people seem not to care because PDP is doing what they need to do to win the election without considering fairness and equity.

I am strongly convinced that when the time comes, majority of voters will side with an APC' Muslim-Muslim ticket which returns presidency to the south and reject a Muslim-Christian ticket which keeps the presidency to the north for another eight years to make it 16 straight years of Northern dominance.

Bros fear God na the weight of the pass clearly shows it was meant for Iwobi.

=
daveP:
That Moses pass was actually meant for Osimhen. Iwobi broke thru and got the goal. Rewatch it. Smart guy Iwobi. Once in the box in GWG, he has a 100% goal record. Check it. Especially in Qualifiers.

Looks like JPes loves the duo of Iwobi and Aribo. I don't see any person big enough to break rank on these two. I wonder how it would seem with Nacho in the lineup. He will make that RHS click. If Simon continues to do the rubbish he does, it will be Tunisia all again when we jam a more technical, equal team, at least. Guy should be syncing with Bassey by now. Chai.

JPes loves Aina. Make Ebuehi return asap abeg. Tired of that number 12. undecided

Good battling win. Not the best performance but a precious win nonetheless which is what is important at this stage.

Positives from the game for me:

The attacking intent of the team and sharp play.

Bassey's crosses yesterday make me feel like doing thanksgiving in church on sunday that thank God finally we have a player who can cross the ball. Even though Calvin has only played 5 odd games he's already the best crosser we've had in the team in over 10 years no caps.

Iwobi looks like he's maturing into the player we expected he should be.

It's early days but I'm impressed with Peseiro's reading of the game and quick thinking to change things if stuff is not working out on the pitch.

Negatives

Defence is still error prone and always looks likely to concede. We absolutely need a good CB not average or above average but good.

We've let in 4 goals in 3 games which is concerning, but not totally unexpected. When playing a more attacking style there will always be risk of space being exploited. I can leave with that as long as we continue to create more chances and are absolutely ruthless in burying those chances.

Hopefully Ndidi's later return will provide more defensive solidity. It will be interesting also to see how Jose utilizes Iheanacho.

Overall room for improvement but decent start.

His participation in the presidential election next year is still up in the air considering the party he joined is locked in a legal battle over the real head of their party. I have a sneaky feeling that a few months to the election he will stylishly back out and urge his 'supporters' to back Atiku.

Anyway it's a free world let them support their candidate.

In other news, really looking forward to the new cadet stars that will show their stuff starting from this weekend in Ghana at the Wafu B Afcon U17 Qualifier tournament.

Some lads to look out for according to various live camp reports and close scouting observations:

GKs:

Pascal Uzoho, Richard Odoh (Team's #1)

Odoh is said to be quite good at almost everything between the sticks at this level. Hopefully he lives up to the hypes.

Defence:

Emmanuel Michael (left sided attacking Midfielder converted to LB)

Jeremiah Olaleke - Fullback and Center back potential.

Yahaya Lawal - Fullback potential.

Midfield:

Ebube Okere (Midfield's trojan. Ball winning MF)

Ozor Okeke (technically gifted MF. Said to possess a high football IQ in the middle game. Time will tell)

Attack:

Kevwe Iyede (one report likens him to another rising Osimhen).

Precious Williams - Team Captain and Goals Lord of the team. Highly rated by the coaches.

Abubakar Abdullahi - Sweet left foot. Good build. Tall, strong physically.

Jubril Azeez - In the words of a close observer, he could be the team's joker. Also left footed.

Really hope the team live up to the hypes from close observers of the Ugbade-assembled Team.

Wishing the team all the best. cool

Sad but absolutely spot on. If I didn't know better I would say their was some ancient evil like the one in cabin in the woods movie constantly demanding death and blood.

OBJ days deaths from religious riots mixed with plane crashes, MEND, Ikeja cantoment explosion.

Yaradua had boko haram in its infancy, niger delta militants, religious riots too.

GEJ gave us small MEND, Boko Haram promax, small bandits sef join.

PMB Bandits promax, boko boys still roaming, ungun known men.

Coaching is still important bruv. If you think this team is full of carpenters then you have forgotten the 2013 team that won the AFCON. Remove Mikel, Moses and Enyeama then you would have seen real experts in woodwork. I still think the team can do something substantial especially in Africa. These same 'carpenters' beat an Egyptian side that Senegal with all its superstars could only put one goal past.

I agree we overhype some of our players alot but to be fair a vast majority of the people on this thread are very frank and honest when it comes to our players ability. A good 3-5 year plan can make us competitive on the world stage but the right manager is crucial to our success.

Still watching Jose and it's early days won't judge him on the results of these 2 friendlies.

Blueelf:
I goal in 2 games from a goalkeeping error on the Mexican GK part

Abeg, these boys na carpenters

At this point, it ain't coaching alone...I think we have overrated these guys beyond their actual abilities

Make una forget....

It will take 10 years of total rebuild to get our football back on track. Hiring and firing foreign coaches isn't the way when your local league is in shambles and there's no template for grassroots development
