Jackson is a decent footballer but from the few times I've seen him he lacks that innate ability that distinguishes elite players from the rest of the crowd.

I'm not all knowing to proclaim he won't improve or get to the heights of world class footballers but he needs to work extra harder.

ChrisKels:
Below is the response I got from a small boy wey no sabi anything about football. Trust me, Jackson would have been doing better in a midtable teams like WestHam, Aston Villa, Everton etc

You dey give me PTSD. Muntari wan nearly kill am that day that was unofficially his last SE match grin Surprisingly we didn't play too badly that day especially in the first half. Eguavoen was the coach.

Pidginwhisper:
I stopped rating Abbey after that London friendly against Ghana.😂😂😂

Obviously you don't know about the player because if you did you would know Tijani had a terrible ACL injury and is just trying to get good form from a run of games.

Oh and he's on loan from RB Salzburg an Austrian team reputable for giving bright new talent like Mane, Haaland, and Minamino their big breakthroughs.

But you wouldn't know that since he wasn't born in the boroughs you say you frequently 'scout'

komekn:
He is 21 and playing in the Austrian Bundesliga and has been for 4 seasons.

If he is so well rated according to you what is he doing playing in the Australia league rated 13 in Europe.

Will my question ❓ be considered HATE.

According to Charles Anazodo new SE manager has been given a 2 year deal and will be announced before weekend.

Yes Nsofor was crucial during that period. My distinct memory of that era was of a very flat midfield (that was the time when Mourinho almost completely suppressed Mikel's flair) and an above average defense constantly getting bailed out of jail by Enyeama.

charlesemeka85:
also Nsofor who bailed the team out in few occasions with his match winning late strikes
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 1:06pm On Apr 24, 2024
And he duly used them to qualify for the WC plus win an AFCON bronze medal.

Besides you forget he had talented opposition to grapple with like the Drogba led Ivory Coast, Ghana that had Essien, Muntari, and Appaiah not forgetting the amazing Egyptian team that had Aboutreika and co.

Kanu was in diminishing returns by the time Amodu came back for his second stint, So was Martins. The only person I would say Shaibu benefited from in terms of football form were Osaze and Ike Uche.

jihday:
the last part isn’t true, Amodu had peak martins, Utaka,Yakubu, Osaze,Nsofor, Mikel also had portmouth Kanu

True but he always delivered and met his targets. Qualified Nigeria twice for WC and won two AFCON bronzes without the best of talent yet we still undermine his efforts.

jihday:
not to defend the NFF but Amodu’s teams were very boring and we often struggled in games
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 4:21pm On Apr 23, 2024
The only local coach given the chance to manage the SE was Shaibu Amodu but he was hounded and disrespected despite delivering on his targets.

jihday:
my biggest issue is we never give the most qualified Nigerians the job, Emetole and Kadiri Ikhana are the most recent Nigerians to make Caf champions league finals but both of them were never considered for the SE job but we kept on giving exinternationals like Chukwu,Eguavoen etc, who couldn’t cut it the Nigerian league.

Still want to know who was advising the boy to take such a risky decision. May have set his career back by almost 2 years.

Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 1:17pm On Apr 23, 2024
You right we've had poor coaches whether Nigerian or foreign.

For me the first criteria whenever the discussion of choosing a coach comes up is competence followed by if he's Nigerian. I will never under any misguided patriotism advocate for an obviously unqualified local coach to handle the SE if the foreign one is a better option.

Kog45:
I already acknowledged the mistake after AndSunGorilla pointed it out…..na vex I Dey vex make me forgot that Sam Okwaraji scored the best goal of the tournament against Cameroon, the match ended 1-1 but why are we always pointing out local coaches mistakes as if the foreign eagles coaches are perfect.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 10:38am On Apr 23, 2024
Correction egbon on the bold. Hoener only lost the 1988 AFCON against Cameroon even that was controversial due to the Henry Nwosu goal that was wrongly called offside.

Kog45:
Westerhof lost to 10 man Italy team with a goal advantage….Rohr under 5 minutes to round things up failed to beat Argentina…Vogts came and find Afcon difficult to handle….Bora was whitewashed by Denmark,in fact looked clueless,Hoener came and lost to Cameroon twice in the same tournament,Seoul 88 he lost everything,Bonfrere Jo put us in tight corner until a local coach Shuaib Amodu rescued us and gave us WC ticket but na to dey use local coaches as bad examples….Oga Joe make we just dey watch go
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog:
Mr Charles you too like wahala grin

Anyway in all seriousness now is the time to back him up to succeed 100% we may all have our misgivings about his appointment but let's just believe his tenure will bring much success to the SE. Not that he should be immune from criticism when wrong or team is floundering but let's just believe he will succeed on the job.

charlesemeka85:
So finally we will get to see super play barca style of football🤩🤩🤩

I can’t wait 😊😊😊

As if you won't be shining teeth if City had won on penalties.

Plus you forget Madrid put themselves in a decent position of winning their fixture with you guys after their exhilarating attacking performance in the first leg.

Sey you know that Madrid has won the UCL 3 times since Pep joined City and you wan just dismiss them like that!? huh

When it comes to R. Madrid even if they are down to five players and are facing a combination of Man City, PSG, and Bayern I will still not write them off.

Na beans to win UCL 14 times including one 3peat?

This business day article seems to back your assertion.

https://businessday.ng/news/article/data-shows-cbn-not-defending-naira-with-fx-reserves/

I'm curious how sustainable is the Naira turnaround for the short to medium term?

User09:
Ive been busy drinking Arsenal tears but now I have time to diffuse the whole thing.

The shift in the reserves has little or nothing to do with defending the naira

The statement above. Please what does it mean ?

I have never seen where a clear as day statement is being ignored to push the word intent. Nawa oo. Why is the focus on what he implies when there's a direct statement?

Because he talked about "intention". Of course, every central bank will prefer a sane market but knowing how speculators play in the Nigerian market. He's telling you they will intervene if they have to but that isnt the preference . Of course, this is within the right and mandate of the CBN

what will make a player like Zidan not to be exceptional?

Hopefully half the population won't have starved to death.

Logically I understand why the reforms were necessary but the cost the average Nigerian is having to bear while thieving politicians ball makes it hard to justify such policy actions.

I'm excited to see how they fare in next season's UCL.

I had to come quote this cause many people really do not know how incredible it is to have a Super Falcons team locked in Defensively.

For Context, since the beginning of the World Cup last year, the Falcons have played 13 games in total out of which they've kept 10 clean sheets.

Read that again, we've only conceded in 3 of 13 games in about a year. We did this playing teams like England, Ireland, New Zealand, Cameroon and South Africa. That is incredible
