AuroraB: You're wise! I salute you! If the lives of Nigerians were a bit important to the Nigerian government, every citizen of Nigeria would have been issued identification cards. In the same vein, the government would have made nationwide installation of CCTV cameras one of its top priorities. In the absence of the two points mentioned above, armed robbers, 'one-chancers', ritualists, murderers, bandits, herdsmen...would continue unabated. 3 Likes |

Pets / Re: Help! My Dog Doesn't Know Where To Urinate. by chukxie(m): 8:54am On Jun 14, 2021 |
Dogs urine stink, and linger in the air for a while! My daughter's dog used to piss everywhere in the house from tiles to hard wood surfaces leaving 'maps' on the them . At one point I got very angry I wanted to give her up but her cute eyes stopped me. After discovering she liked to urinate of the second floor stairs landing, I bought on Taobao dogs diapers that trap urinate the same way female sanitary pads do. At first, she thought the diapers were something to sleep on so she avoided urinating on them and would urinate outside of them. So, I carried her and sat her on the diapers and sternly told her to always urinate and defecate on them. She's never defecated or urinated elsewhere since that day. Wahala for who get dog.

Belial06: Following your suggestion above would dehydrate the dog. It would also make the dog's poop to become hard -really hard, a dangerous situation for dogs. |
Politics / Re: Four West African Countries To Buy Nigeria’s Idle Electricity by chukxie(m): 4:01pm On Jun 10, 2021 |
Yusman316: My brother, I commend you for your response. YOU don try! Thing is whatever is beleaguering our nation's abysmal electricity supply can be fixed. Electricity supply is the bedrock of every developed country. If the Nigerian government prioritizes electricity generation, distribution and storage, the days of "Up NEPA" would cease! How does China, a country almost half the size of Africa generates solar power in the far-flung province of Xinjiang, stores it, and distributes it to other far off provinces and cities? Nigeria is a joke. 1 Like |

Yusman316: What's hindering the power authorities from storing the excess electricity they generate? Isn't it the duty of the govt to figure out a way to store excess electricity? Can't our leaders borrow a leaf from other countries on how to successfully store excess electricity? Our leaders are EVIL! Simple! |

99% of the respondents on this thread were overwhelmingly 'choked' by what they read. The truth is that for years Nigeria has been supplying electricity to Niger, Benin and I think, Togo. Without mincing words, leaders and policymakers in Nigeria are some of the most heartless and greedy bastards I've ever seen or read of. China is almost half the size of Africa, yet there's constant and affordable electricity supply in every cities, towns and villages. Common electricity we no get! Shame! Little wonder oyibo dey call us brainless monkeys! |
Travel / Re: Lagos Ranks Second On World’s Least Livable Cities - EIU by chukxie(m): 3:07am On Jun 10, 2021 |
I still love Lagos regardless of it being ranked as the second least livable city. The smell, the heat, the dust, the endless traffic jams; the agberos with kush-darkened lips and bloodshot eyes; the cacophony of blaring car horns, screaming bus conductors howling at passengers, music from woofers blasting at a high pitch...all make Lagos what it is - a unique city unlike any other in Nigeria. I love Lasgidi die! On a serious note, the problems of Lagos are multi-layered, some can be fixed by the government such as the provision of better infrastructures like roads, affordable housing, drainages, landscaping; provision of waste bins especially in places of businesses such as markets, malls etc. How can ordinary residents contribute to make Lasgidi a better city? Cleanliness! Some Nigerians are not particularly concerned about hygiene, and this is evident in the way kids and grown adults litter their environments with total disregard for cleanliness. If everyone makes conscientious efforts to clean their environments, and litter less, Lagos would be looking attractive. Finally, all of us for Ikoyi, V/I, Lekki, Banana Island, Eko Atlantic, this shameful ranking reach everybody ooo! 2 Likes |

Would have loved to visit such an interesting place if the level of insecurity in Nigeria hadn't been scary. There are several such borders around the world such as the one between the US and Canada where the border cuts right through buildings. There's also a similarly interesting one between The Netherlands and Belgium. The writer didn't mention much about the Beninise side of the border, I wish he did. Nonetheless it was an interesting piece. 4 Likes 1 Share |

When will Nigerians learn to appreciate their own? South Africans appreciate their own. Kenyans do, too. Only Nigerians spit on theirs! Pathetic! Nigeria is going through horrendous times but we gotta keep being positive and appreciative of the little things we have believing someday things would change for the better. Abuja is a beautiful city! If the government invests in planting more trees, builds sidewalks to cover the entire city and makes littering a punishable offense, Abuja would become one of the best cities in Africa. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Too many dummies here. Have you guys asked yourselves how much of the money generated by the Lagos State government end up in the pockets of some northern governors whose states are contributing next to nothing into the federal government's account? If 70% of the money generated in Lagos is used for the development of the state, it would be standing head and shoulders with the best cities in Africa and I dare to say some of the best cities in the world. |
Business / Re: China Bans Financial Institutions From All Cryptocurrency Business by chukxie(m): 4:20am On May 19, 2021 |
The Chinese government's ban on cryptocurrency doesn't apply to individuals, it only affects three core financial institutions. I see this loose ban on crypto as a precursor to China's digital Yuan which the government is currently experimenting on in some pilot cities in China. Forward-thinking people! |

KIDfurniture: Read between the lines! Are members of the parishes which Pastor Dare oversaw in Eket not Nigerians? Aren't the majority of Redeeemers Nigerians? No life is more precious than the other so there shouldn't be any basis for comparison in death. Regarding people being killed daily, shouldn't it be the duty of the government to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians? Why not take up your rightful grievances with the government of President Buhari? |

It must continue unabated because Nigerians are dummies who spend most their time supporting corrupt politicians, igniting tribalism, religious and ethnic bigotry. When una mumu reach, una go take una destinies into una own hands. I see a lot of fatheaded people on this thread screaming "China, China", 'Chinese products no dey last". A people from a country that hasn't been able to refine its own oil nor properly maximize its abundant natural resources. A people who have been impoverished far beyond any figments of imagination by corrupt leaders and politicians. A people to whom constant and affordable electricity is a mirage! A dumb set of people who celebrity and beat drums of praises for the politicians who have perpetually made their lives miserable to the point where we're considered one of the poorest countries on earth! Shut up, please! The Chinese are not perfect people and neither is the West that we've always looked up as the beacon of hope, prosperity and fairness. As someone who has lived in China for years, I can unequivocally say the Chinese are a progressive, inspiring set of people who are breaking glass ceilings and creating paradigm shifts in global affairs. Again, they're not a perfect people. Dining with them requires a long spoon because they're shrewd business people always out to make gains. But isn't that how the world often works? Shouldn't Nigeria being the largest country in Africa be doing the same thing? Shouldn't we be the force propelling Africa to the new frontier of development and prosperity? But No! Corruption reigns supreme in Nigeria unabated! Nigerians should spend their energy demanding for accountability from their leaders rather than screaming "China, China"! China is buding its own space station. What have we built? Common roads we no fit construct!! May the returning rocket land without hurting anyone, any endangered species or important cultural sites. |
