BeautifulMind2: Another build with Solar Absolutely! I am also noticing many homes are already using it! I am glad people are increasingly opting for renewable electricity. As cost of these panels come down and batteries are made to handle the system better, Solar powered electricity will become a standard home accessory as we now have submersible boreholes. That will be the key to achieving stable electricity in Nigeria. The little power in the Grid can then be channeled to industrial areas to support Nigerian industries. I am glad the solar revolution is starting to take shape.

Politics › Re: Support Igbos To Produce President After Buhari – Orji Kalu Begs Nigerians by Cjrane2: 8:16pm On Apr 07, 2018*. Modified: 8:41pm On Apr 07, 2018 |
6Ebisco: Former Governor of Abia State, Orji Kalu, has urged Nigerians to support Igbos to produce President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain said such a mandate cannot be achieved by people of the South East alone, hence the call for all Nigerians to support the push.
He said this while addressing journalists in Ile-Ife, Osun State, after his peace and advocacy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
According to Kalu, “We can’t do it alone. Late Chief MKO Abiola came to my mother’s house in Abia many years ago seeking political support.
“While discussing with my mother, MKO said no one could clap with one hand. I will also adopt that adage. We Igbo can’t do it alone. The rest of the country should assist us to realise this ambition.”
The former governor also observed that Buhari had demonstrated his love for Nigeria, stressing that the president, “is not corrupt.”
Kalu also hinted that Buhari will return in 2019.
“I know Buhari very well. He is not corrupt. He does not own property anywhere. Some people should not just put the country in crisis. Whatever they may have in plan, Buhari will return in 2019,” he said.
http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/support-igbos-to-produce-president.html When illiterates and conmen like Orji Uzor Kalu scheme for presidency hiding under "igbo" this or that, Its highly insulting. Who told him the headache of Igbo is presidency? When you can't even build light rail in your city without FG approval or invite more airline to serve Akanu Ibiam intl. Airport or invite Chinese companies to build River port at Obuaku without Buhari or FG blocking it? |

I think their key setback is their model of asking folks to pay gradually instead of just paying one time for a cadre of building and showed the spot where their house is being built and issued C of O for their plot of land for the building With 419 at the back of many Nigerians, it will be hard to convince people to use their current model |

Elliot2: Hello, nairalanders! please oblige me with your time by reading my sad but true story life story, and endeavour to add your advice and opinion. Today, I witness the death of Justice in my family- we lost a land dispute to our opponents. Before I give you guys a brief history of the land case in concern,I would like to tell you that the judgement that was passed today did not have the attendance of our lawyer and family members i.e we were not aware of the date( though personally, i can't vouch for our lawyer who might have been bought over).we have lost it at the appeal court now .But I want to believe that that is unfair! Justice is murdered and it died in cold blood, killed by those chosen as custodians of the law. Even, the first judgement was passed in similar manner whereby our opponents were already privy of the victory before Chief Justice Kate Abiru passed verdict. But that is about That. This land case started when crude oil was discovered in our family land, and when shell came to explore it. initially, around the 1970's, shell had already marked the oil wells and my grand father was recognised as the sole owner of the parcel of land it is sighted and received contracts from shell as such (they are still owing him outstanding balance for the labour he provided ). And after the discovery and all, they stopped work but later came for full exploration in 2003. it was then our opponents who are only a faction of the family( they are adopted) but have no claim to it came onboard through the influence of one prof., et al who had prior knowledge before us( he was a one time chairman of NDDC) through his influence, shell came for consultation with our opponents without us,even though they had entered land use agreements with my grand father. so,we protested, and when we did we were sued in court. At the court,we provided every documents we have including the survey of all our lands situated even beyond the portion shell has taken(our opponents only argued for the piece of land covering the site). we provided documents dating back to 1910's, documents involving land disputes our great grand father had won; also we provide documents containing leasing of the land to prospects who paid royalties to us (those for farming and tap wine tapping). We provided witnesses and argued our case to a logical end. But whereas our opponents had virtually no proof but argued vainly, that they are the sole owners of the land and that we are not part of the family but slaves and therefore aliens to them. Suffice me so say that my grand father was once the chief of the community! All the while he ruled for over 20 years, nobody alleged that. our opponents alleged that our great grand father was adducted into the family when his step father who was a member of their family died, and his biological mother left him with them and migrated without him. And that when he came of age, they gave him the said parcel of land to farm on. Now that was some interesting story, but it leaves a lot of questions. One, if he was given the said land, then why was the land given out as leash in his name, why was all the court cases he had in the 1910 and others,in his name. there are no references of our opponents as owners of the land. Even as they argue that my progenitor was a slave, there is no truth in that because his immediate son became a chief of the community. And that was no privilege but a right! In fact, there is no iota of logic in their argument. imagine, the said piece of land in dispute is far larger than the whole pieces of land our opponents own, which is not in dispute. in fact, the larger portion of the land we included in our survey plan which our opponents did not claim at the initial stage is very sizeable, big enough for a gift to an unfortunate slave boy they adopted. what a benevolence! They claimed a meagre 25 acres of land in the suit, but has taken everything beyond it! and the courts allowed such rape of justice. Truth is,there is no iota of truth in there doctored story! And I dare them for a DNA to be conducted between the two families. After winning the court case, they have moved on to confiscate even the lands that were not in dispute. even the court oblige them even when we moved for a stay of execution-the court reject our pleas. they kept building houses on our lands and selling to strangers while we were in court... To be frank with all well meaning people of the world is that, today justice has again been murdered in our family! We the innocent and rightfully owners of the land hosting Shell at Obunagha, Bayelsa State,Nigeria, has been deprived of justice by the greedy and ever confutionist Shell, the state gov.,greedy and dishonorable principalities at the judiciary and other workers of injustice. However,I want to believe that justice can't be murdered. it may slumb and faint in the hands of the wicked, but will recover in the hands of the just. Now,my family is looking for the just! Nigerians need to man up and fight those who oppress them . The fulani herdsmen cannot defeat Nigerians if we are decide to fight them |

Cooly100: Releases N1.7 billion for Intl Wing Christopher Isiguzo in Enugu The federal government on Monday lamented that the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu would not enjoy full international certification until the myriads of challenges constituting security threats at the airport are fully addressed.
The government specifically frowned at the activities of some individuals who had erected properties around the airport, insisting that such properties should be demolished immediately.
The Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, who stated this after an inspection tour of facilities at the airport, said the federal government had already released N1.7billion for construction work to continue at the international wing of the airport, stressing that more money would be made available when the 2018 was released for completion work.
Explaining that government was determined to realise the completion of the airport in record time, the minister said full international flight would only commence with the removal and relocation of several property obstructing the runway, security and flight operations.
Some of the offending properties, according to him, are the multi-million naira Enugu Empower free trade zone, whose foundation was laid in 2016 by the state government; the Orie Emene market; television and radio stations masts, residential buildings as well as fencing of the airport.
Sirika, who lamented the level of encroachment at the Enugu airport, stated that the runway expansion which the incumbent administration embarked upon had been hampered by encroachment, stressing that “people willingly set up structures along the runways.
“Government decided to expand the runway from 2.5 kilometres to three km to accommodate more international flights and cargoes, but stopped midway because people built within 100 metres on the runway. We need to dam the river to enable us use the water to service the airport.
“The Orie market is a security threat. There is an abattoir in the market that attracts vultures which portends danger to flights. There is a road leading to the Very High Frequency Omni-Directional Radio Range (VOR) which is in terrible state. It functions 24 hours because it guides pilots in their flights.
“Without this, this airport cannot be operated. The road is 1.5 kilometres and we need to build it because it is impassible during the rainy season.”
The minister who later paid a courtesy call on the state Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, explained that unless the security concerns at the airport were addressed, the certification of the airport to an international status would not be possible.
He called on the state government to do the needful as he would do all in his abilities to ensure that Enugu was given its rightful status in view of its economic viability.
The governor had told the minister that he would do all in his ability to ensure that the airport gets an international status to enhance Enugu’s economic and social status.
He pleaded with the minister to put all the requests in writing as quickly as possible in order to fasten the issues raised even as he immediately asked the Ministry of Enugu Capital Territory to immediately demolish the structures located few metres from the airport runway.
Read more http://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2018/03/06/why-akanu-ibiam-airport-has-not-enjoyed-full-international-certification-by-minister/ Point of correction, Buhari administration DID NOT ENLONGATE THE RUNWAY, IT WAS DONE BY JONATHAN AND BUHARI STOPPED THE COMPLETION OF THE TAXIWAY TO REACH 3 KM as a standard international airport which was already awarded by Stella Odua. Instead they built an air force bungalow and helipad exactly on the path of the taxiways to completely kill the prospect of having a taxiways on the airport. Lots and lots of silly excuses. Soon. They will ask for entire Enugu to be demolished so they can provide facilities already in other airports. They should first demolish the airforce bungalow on the taxiway path, and relocate the fuel talks to the rear of the airport and anything built on the path of the taxiway. BUHARI and his bunch of tribalists should please concession the airport to private investors. It is obvious to even a blind man that they will not develop it and are desperately looking for silly excuses to close it down. |

OreMI22: My brother, please forget about these Afonja people. Hatred and their desperation to disadvantage the SE is a curse on them.
No Igbo person in the quest to "save money" will opt to land in Lagos or Abuja, pay for a hotel or inconvenience family people in those cities and then pay for another grueling 8-9 hours bus trip to the SouthEast. Then, repeat the same process again two or three weeks later when they are returning. That itinerary will add more than extra $400-500 dollars to their cost of reaching their final destination. So people that do it have other reasons other than saving money because it is definitely cheaper to land directly in Enugu.
Only an Afonja who lands in Lagos and drives to Ibadan or Abeokuta the same day will argue that you land in Lagos. They have no idea what easterners go through just to come back home into Nigeria and land in very faraway airports. I already knew he was an Afonja. That is their typical behavior trying to claim other tribes because they know their intent is deceitful. Only an Afonja would think he is doing an "Ibo" a favour by landing in Enugu. He never for 1 minute deceived me. I just wanted to be civil, that was why i explained to him alternative ways. |
