I had my own share too, though it's long but I need your advice.
The episode started when the Suffocating and comprehensive ASUU strike is becoming more elongated.
My mum discussed with her boss if I can be working with them depending when ASUU will call off their strike.
Fortunately, they affirmed to my mum's request and I was employed to work as a secretary.
Note: They are both husband and wife running the organization.
My role is to write receipt for all payments entering the organization account, write and ensure all the payments of the day are updated before the next day.
As a result of the nature of my work, this give me access to the boss office as I may need some things to take there. Even if other staff want to access the office, they will inform me first, then I will collect the key and give them whatever they need in the office.
Things was going smoothly until a fateful Friday I was accused of stealing.
The scenario happened like this.
As the secretary of the organization, I do resume work by 7:30am and close by 5:pm.
Apart from the cleaners that tidy the compound. In most cases, I'm the last person that leaves the office. And whenever I'm leaving, I collect the key to the office and park the bags of the boss and his wife into their car, check whether they bought something and ensure everything is placed in their car.
That fateful day, as usual, His wife wasn't around, then I look for the husband to collect the office key and he told me that the office is opened. With no further delay, I moved into the office and carried their bags. As I was going, he stopped me and check the bag. He claimed that inside the bag, where he packed money, the money has been rough handled and the nylon bag that housed the money was found tore.
Then pandemonium began. He insisted that a person has accessed the money and I was the only person that has the privilege to enter the office. I was troubled and confused. My perplexity was so high that I don't even know what to say.
I tried to explain to the best of my knowledge. I tried my best to exonerate myself that I knew nothing about the money. I told everyone that I met the office opened and I ain't aware that the office was opened. Most times, if I see the office ain't closed. I will close it because it's close to my office. But on this day no one to bear me withness. Every odds look against me. We left there around to 5:30pm that day.
I even told my boss that he should count the money that I don't perceive anyone entering the office. But he kept saying that he didn't know the amount he put there and he can't give the precise amount that has been stolen.
Beforehand, I noticed that the environment is full of jealousy. The staff jealous themselves. They envy each other and there are lots of faction within the organization. To be on a safer side. I didn't join any caucus or faction. I play my role diligently and discharge my duty responsibly. I don't do favouritism as I make myself to be honest in all things. There are many evil things that I'm aware of that goes underground but I don't interfer in it or report it except the bosses know by themselves. With my altitude, well with this I thought, I was loved by the boss and his wife.
When I got home, I wept profusely because no one to bear me withness, everyone seems I'm the thief.
I explained to my mum what happened because she has left earlier. She pacified me and said. If I'm not guilty of the stealing, nothing will happen to me and they should use whatever they want to use to look for their money.
On Monday we resume back to work. What happened on Friday kept pondering my heart, the wound hasn't been healed yet another mysterious thing happened again.
My own office is at the front of the boss office. My table and chair are placed there but it doesn't look privately. It looks like a reception before entering the main office. I got to my office next day to find that #3,600 has been smuggled into my drawer.
Chaiii! No one to bear me withness again about the money I saw. All things look like I was the one that stole the money, and just hiding under the guise of innocency.
I was extremely perplexed, different thought were ruminating my mind. One thought said if you give them the money they will say you are lying that you just kept it there. Another thought said, who knows, perhaps they are putting you under integrity test. Well! I carried the money, luckily the wife was around and I explained how I saw the money and handed it over to her.
When the husband came, she told him exactly what I reported to her and the husband responded, he might be the money they stole on Friday. He continues, definitely the thieves has returned the money as a result of their actions on Friday.
The matter dies there and no one ever made reference to it again until today when the boss (he) asked me to prepare a bill for a customer. I've done that already and also listening to him and the customer while they were conversing. In a nut shell. I heard the customer telling him that he wants another bills too. Therefore I was preparing that too, unknowingly as I was preparing it, I have covered the first bills with lot of books on my table. As the boss arrived, he requested for the first bill he asked me to prepare. Unfortunately, it's no where to be found again, �♂️. I tried to explain to him that I was also preparing other bills the woman mentioned. I think that was the only mistake I made thinking that would make the work faster for the woman to collect the bills.
All of a sudden, I noticed that he has been seethe with anger. He shouted at me that I don't have regards for him, he said, he asked me to do something but I'm doing otherwise. Before I could utter any statement to clear myself out. Everything has already scatter, he remained deaf to whatever I wanted to say. He insisted that I'm not working with them again, he chased me out like a dog that I have to go back to take my phone.
Amongst all the turbulence, I kept begging him. I prostrated on the floor to show that I'm sorry. But he didn't even looked at me.
For the sake of my mother. I don't want to do anything that would affect her relationship with her bosses, I would have said. I'm not working again and not even bother to beg.
To cut it short. His wife signaled to me to meet an erderly man close to the place, possibly he might listen to his pleas. I did as instructed by his wife, "God bless that woman" The erderly man followed me but another thing bursted. He said apart from this, that he can't employ somebody that he doesn't trust. He made it known to the erderly man that I'm not trustworthy using the past money that was stolen as a case of study.
That moment, tears began to roll down from my face. I didn't know what to say in the midst of everyone. Everyone was just saying, please forgive him, he will change, he won't do that again. I looked at myself and said this is humiliation of the highest order. If I take any step, it might affect my mum too and lead to the termination of her appointment. I don't want her to be traumatized.
I remained calm and crying bitterly. Well! he accepted the elderly man plea for me and they concluded that this is yellow card, that if I do anything bad again, they will resort by giving me red card. Since ASUU is still on strike now and there's no way I can say I'm leaving there without having implication on my mum employment. Who knows, what will happen next that might get me roped and I will be given red card couple with humiliation. I want men with wisdom to advice me on how I can justify my resignation peacefully. I don't want anything to backfire on my mum. I don't want her to be traumatized and I don't want them to transfer their aggression on her.
I just want to leave there peacefully because I can't see myself working there again. Even all these things was written with my unbalanced emotions. I know I have been traumatized and accused falsely but I believe I will bounce back strongly and soon or sooner God will revealed the perpetrator in Jesus name.���.

My friend is in his late 30s, he has been in a relationship with his woman, they have been together for a period of 8 years, and they have 2 kids together.
This my friend has a younger brother, the younger brother told him that they should go and collect traditional marriage list from his woman family, so that traditional marriage can take place by December.
My friend worry is that, one, he is not financially capable to do traditional marriage rite as of now and secondly, he doesn't have a good paying job now.
Another of his worry is that, he feels it shameful for his younger brother to sponsor his wedding, he is afraid won't he be insulted in the future by people, that he can't not pay his wife bride price, that it was somebody that married his wife for him. His brother told him not to worry about the financial responsibilities, that God will take control.
My advice for him was that he should tell his brother to give him the money to go start a business, maybe when the business balances, he can go and do the marriage rite. But his brother told him that the lady has tired for waiting for 8 years, that they should do the traditional marriage first, every other thing shall fall in place. This his brother has been supportive to him.

Skillsmaster: Good evening all. Forgive my typos. Please I am in a state of confusion right now. I posted here on nairaland last year concerning me starting a teaching job in Abuja. I have been teaching in this school for a year and half now.
My salary is 40k (on appointment letter) but there is always deduction of 10% (4k) every month which they promised to pay all the deductions by end of each session. Till now, they are yet to pay it, giving excuses of no money on ground. But they paid it to those that resigned as far as two months notification is given.
I applied in other schools before the beginning of last term, two among the schools invited me for an interview but I didn't go because of this 10% of a thing. I made up my mind to resign beginning of this term so that I can collect my 10%. Last week, I got another invite from one of those schools I applied. I went and came out successful but their salary is 60k.
I requested for 100k but they said they can only pay 60k. I didn't accept it because of the distance. Early hour of Saturday, I received a message from the school, congratulating me that I have been shortlisted for employment. I was confuse because I didn't agree with the pay. And I will be teaching in primary section.
Assuming they can even pay me 80k, I can forget about the 10% and start another hustle there. (I planned relocating to the area because of distance).
Should I accept this offer and forget about the 10% (72k+) in the school I am now? Or should I talk to them if they can allow me to resume by January so that I can collect my money from this school? Will they accept?

Note: I will go to the school and confirm if they've agreed to increase my pay. Before the invite, I have already made up my mind to tender my resignation letter immediately school resumes.

Honestly her family wants me to settle with their daughter but to me I am no longer interested before I die of BP, so now they are using my son to blackmail me emotionally to accept their daughter back because they know that I love my son. If really I am suffering her and treating her like a slave like she always claim then I wonder why her family would want her to come back to my house to suffer.

Halo22: I have been working in this company for about 8 years now and to be frank, I don't see any much improvement both financially and otherwise.
In addition to that, I noticed some degree of negligence and disregard for old staff, it seems the more years you spend in the company, the less value you accrue. However, I attribute that to the administrative incompetence of the Director who took over from the mum before she( the mum) finally joined her ancestors.
Recall that in April this year, she fired the General manager without any explanation to the rest of the staff, no staff meeting nor briefing. Shortly after that, she reshuffled the managerial team and employed 3 unknown persons who were never part of the company to take over the Management of the company, while she still remains the Director.
All these she did without any form of recourse to her old staff. I never bothered as an old staff until recently, when we started noticing some more incompetency in administration and management of the company. It rose to the extent that workers receive half salary sometimes without any briefing, allowances are not being paid and when they pay, they short pay us.
I couldn't hold it any longer as a man of justice and as such, I wrote to the Director after having meeting with the new GM. In my letter I expressed on behalf of other workers, the feelings of maltreatment and administrative Injustice, as most of them are afraid of opening up, to avoid being sacked.
Then after, the Director herself called for a general meeting and instead of to apologise for all these financial and managerial malfeaseances, she chose to tackle the old workers particularly myself, thinking that we were working against her. I still stood my ground on the path of Justice, finally she tried to pacify the workers by promising a salary increase, based on the number of years spent in the company. But then, I have been on her watchlist all through.
Any little mistake I make, she would capitalize on that to weigh me down. I now seek ur opinions, whether to continue in the company or resign. Good a thing, I have a business that even pay me better than the job.

You can either look for another Job while still working there but from your write up...she's new in the system and as such will want to flex her power untill the reality set in for her. I'll want you to hang in there because as an old staff there's on edge for you to climb up the hierarchy, if you can be a little patience.

H0711: I got married two months ago. I am 7 months pregnant my husband didn't tell me he had a child from his previous relationship and the child has a disability celebral palsy. Her mother came to dropped her off in my house saying she has done enough and she's tired it is now hubby turn to take care of her.
The child can't do anything for herself she can't sit, talk, walk and she does toilet in her clothes. I can't do it anymore I love children because I have taken care of my own nieces and nephews before I would have taken care of her if she was normal but taking care of a child in this question is hard and if her own mother has had enough she abandoned her and why would I kill myself taking care of her in my condition.
I want to divorce and go back to my village I have told him i am leaving next month. He is pleading with me not to leave him that he will take the child somewhere else but the place is not free he has to be paying like 200k monthly for them to take care of the child and he doesn't even have that amount of money because he is not financial stable.

Don't leave your marriage...Call the elders and let them advice your hubby to have a meeting with the mother of the child and let him agree to pay monthly child support. I personally think that he abandon her without providing for the child. Remember that both of them are responsible for the child but you can encourage your hubby to pay his dues then you can focus your attention on your unborn child. You are a good person inside out and want to do the right thing but don't leave your husband... you don't know what the future holds.. he needs you now and we are not perfect, no one is...Your husband should go and see the lady and sort himself out. I sent this particular female pupil to report herself to the principal that she was mocking me in class. She went there confidently and returned with a smug face, telling me principal asked her to tell me sorry.
I looked at her unconvinced that she went to the principal. Well I later realised she actually did and the principal didn't take it seriously.
I then asked her to write an apology letter. She went and came back with this piece below.....
APOLOGY LETTER
This is to write that I'm sorry for the disturbance I made in the class. And I'm sorry for the insult if you think that is the way it looks and I'm using this to make a statement too that I disturbed Mr Anthony. But I don't see it as an insult or an offence but I'm sorry for my wrong deeds. And I will not do it again.
During class I will listen attentively.
And also please increase your voice when teaching or explaining or teaching your subject so that it will be interesting.
Sorry for the wrong deed and mistake I have done.

Freelane33: You will know after some moments with her My partner is peaceful and lovely We are from different tribe but that doesn’t change anything . She’s a Christian . I’m a Muslim by faith . I love her and she loves me She’s from a good home and always free with me . She’s not the type that hide phone or chats I can be with her phone from morning till night incase there is need to use hers . I have access to every parts of her life ranging from accounts to everything .I teach her a lot of things because she likes learning . She reasons like a man at times as a result of the training I have given her . I’m presently studying psych as my second degree after a lot of years because I really love it though I’m in my thirties She hates noise , my apartment is always quiet whenever she’s around and that shows she will be able to give my unborn kids a good parental upbringing .she’s hard working , she works for her money and things doesn’t freak her . I’m happy I stop cheating on her with some ladies that doesn’t match her in terms of energies and other. Though she’s not perfect and ain’t perfect too . We do fight and settle . she force me to pray most times by laying my praying Mat and filling my kettle . She’s happy that I’m practicing a religion because I wasn’t practicing none before I pray we end up marrying each other But if we don’t eventually end up together . I pray God give her a responsible man
That's the right woman for you. Must men will see her quietness as a bore thinking that she's not as rass as their bleach green vein babes that makes noises on empty brain. Most smart ladies are quiet and easy going . good luck
