I wonder why organized Labour never goes to the public hearing to say these things instead of the pages of newspapers. I'm not convinced layout is that genuine. Probably fronting to be settled. If the want to influence things, they should play the game properly. Why not go the the Nass and tell them to their faces that they are overpaid and insensitive. |
asuustrike2009:Don't mind the idiot!! If he really wants to be fair to anyone, it should be to the southeast, not the North!! The unfortunate thing though is that I can't think of anyone from the south east who could be a president! Maybe Soludo? Or that former FRSC guy? But he didn't do much in FRSC or as a minister for that matter. |
Goodness gracious!! That motorcade was like 40 cars long! Why do we need such an entourage? |
The only issue with Nigeria is politicians and nothing else. If we get a truly smart and forthright presidents and governor, Nigeria will make dramatic progress in 10 years. |
Not quite sure how this helps us! 2MW is 2,000,000 watts. Not that many industries use that much. Maybe refineries, aluminum smelter companies etc. Doubt even Eko hotel or MMIA comes anywhere close to that! |
lofty900:Like seriously!!! Wike has done a number of roads, but only resurfacing. Nothing really brand new other than the park. Ambode projects are borne from really deep thinking to fashion out imaginative and creative solutions that are not obvious. That's real vision and leadership. |
FIAT!!! I would have preferred for someone to bring back Volvo into the country!! Their new designs are unique and breathtaking. Though they now compete in the luxury market with Benz, Audi and BMW, so wont be cheap. |
I wonder who is going go manage that place. I hope it's not the state government? They had better concession it out for an annual fee and set the boundaries of what the concessioaire can or can't do, otherwise the place will fall apart in 3 years. |
I went to PH in 2006. As at hen expats used to walk about freely, they used to go clubbing without escorts etc, then the kidnapping and criminals started and they moved into fortified estates and now move only with significant security. Even worse, I know hundred of NIGERIAN's who also relocated their families to the West or Abuja due to reckless and everyday kidnapping. If Nigerian middle class are leaving a town in droves, does that seem like a safe zone to come and site company HQ?? Besides SPDC HQ is in PH! How many of you has it helped? Will everybody work there? Like it or not, the west is much more safe, organised and less likely to commit crimes because most of the people value education and not millitancy as a way to get ahead in life. And the higher educational standards of the west didn't come via the FG or your oil money, it came via the old western region and is still imbibed by the western governors and people who value its benefit. What have the governors of the SS done with extra derivation money all these decades? I know many colleagues who tried to build houses in PH and were harrased by gangs and touts and either had to forgo land or pay huge sums for peace. Not saying there is not omo onile in the west, but the level it gets to in the SS and PH in particular is to another level!! Funny enough the people of the SS find it easy to go and protest in front of Shell gate for lack of water, roads, empowerment etc, but they will never go to the LG HQ or government house. That sort of mentality is where the real problem lies, not with whether Chevron's HQ is in Rivers or not. |
Ajibel:Dont mind him. His type represents everything that is wrong with Nigeria. |
GavelSlam:My brother see me o! One thing about Nigerians is that we like to believe beer parlour gist without reasoning for once. There have been issues with these militants in Mali, Mauritania, Chad, niger, Cameron etc, but it's only in Nigeria that it is political in nature. While the east may appear to have been marginalized which region has visible benefits from Nigeria over and above the east? I don't see any more development in West more than east. Most of what you see in the West is either lost glory of the western region or efforts of state governments. The only are where the east may have a case is roads, but we also had our issues with Lagos ibadan Expressway and Lagos Shagamu be in Expressway till recently. Even the north what have its people benefited. They are the poorest and most wretched of all the people in Nigeria. Only the northern elites have benefited and not the northern people. There is a difference. So what is Biafra fighting for? For the right to have access to steal government money as well? |
What's with top military brass and using walking stick?? If I were the President, I'd ban such acts. If these guys need walking stick then they shouldn't be in the military for goodness sake!! |
Surely LG will have to finish the dualisation of the lekki Epe road by then. Otherwise na hell o, |
Hey folks, is there a straightforward way to unlock the modem so I can use my Spectranet sin with it?
|
mykeljosef:Are you for real!!?? There is no way his earning as a governor and pdp chairman can amount to being able to build that house. |
they should also tell us who the stakeholders are in those two new companies and the shareholding they own in them. |
hedonistic:How exactly!? |
UnknownT:Nobody steals in millions anymore! |
4Play:Exactly what Nigeria companies do!! Zuma power "has been" building coal power plant in Enugu for 5 years, yet no one has ever shown a picture of their construction site! The only company that consistently turns "I will' to" I have" is Dangote. That doesn't have any project that doesn't finish on time. |
fliXzz:Not quite sure what magic develolment you think it will bring! Already like half of Mobil staff (if not more) are based in eket. What magic will the other half bring. SPDC is headquartered in PH. What fantastic change did it bring? Is there anything fantastic about Port Harcourt? She'll had only operations in Warri, before they sold their OML's there and Warri is now a shadow of itself. Just to let you know that even without having HQ in Warri and only operational base, Shell was making an impact in Warri. Maybe more useful to ask for proper accountability for the states of the Niger Delta, from NDDC etc. We Nigerians find it easy to go and protest in front of shell gate, but will never go and protest at government house. Poverty mentality! No disrespect to the people of the ND, but the mentality and reasoning faculty of the average ND is pretty poor. Too much entitlement mentality like someone said before. Which is why cult killings, kidnapping etc thrice so much in these areas. Which oil company would want to come to such a place that isn't safe. And coming here won't change much cos the oil companies cannot employ beyond what they need. Even if every single shell staff is from ND, highest that's 2500 people. What of the other millions from ND? |
We have been hearing this Zuma story for 2-3 years now. It's always a case of "we will soon...". Never "we have commissioned.."! |
[quote author=nacozee post=54249369]So because of this rubbish you wrote, the headquarters should be cited in your fathers compound in lagos abi? ASHAWO JAPANESE[/quot But then again even if they all relocate to Uyo for example, what has that benefitted the people of rivers or bayelsa? Next thing we will hear is communal fight between people of akwa ibom and rivers. Same thing happened when government wanted to site was it new federal universities somewhere in Kogi and communities started fighting. The real issues go so far beyond where the head office is located, it's like night and day! A more useful conversation is where all the money given to NDDC since inception has gone?? Mind you NDDC has been headed by a Niger Delta man since inception? Did that make it work? |
Hi people. I want to know if that's it's anyone out there who uses an air fryer and of our fries plantain well. Most of the material on air fryers days of fries chips and chicken well, but considering what we fry the most is probably plantain, I want to be sure of fries it well before purchasing. |
And what has Okorocha done for his own state with the state's own money Anambra that is forging ahead by themselves, the Governor there has 6 heads abi? |
So will operate the speed camera's? Is it the same government that could not operate CCTV cameras?? Na wa o! Though I agree that corruption is probably our biggest problem as a nation, incompetence comes a close second. We are generally clueless in this country |
Majority of the high rise buildings in Victoria Island and the apartments in Oniru are proceeds of stolen money anyway. They are usually attempts to legitimize such money. |
The road is too good now people are over speeding. If we say commercial vehicles should use speed limiting devices now, Nigerians will be the first to castigate it. We don't know what we want in this country really!! Typical Nigerians don't want to go left or right. When you then ask them if they'd like to stand still they will tell you No!! |
I totally disagree WITH Saraki. If anything it is the government that is more clueless!! We started building power plants with limited gas supply, we have no alternative to the ND issue where our gas is, we have no political will to get MDA's to settle outstanding bill running into billions, and we are not courageous enough to find a commercially viable way for NLNG supply more gas to the domestic market. |
