Thought airtel has a N3. 5k for 7Gb plan? That one isn't here! |
freshdude99:Cement at N800 when naira was 150 to a dollar and at N1, 100 now that dollar is 330 is not the same. In my view, without Dangote cement would be costing much more now. His massive capacity is keeping the price down. What I'd love Dangote to get involved in now is power, because the guy doesn't do anything on a small scale. The other Nigerian businessmen are lazy. They prefer easy import business. And it's a factor with all Nigerians. All we do is buy from US, UK, China, Turkey, Dubai and come and sell. Nobody makes anything in Nigeria. Dangote is enjoying the superior reward for his greater risk. |
freshdude99:And where did Adenuga magically sporting from? |
DropShot:Spoken with true common sense, which unfortunately is not common at all in government. |
I want to find out if we have professional debt collectors in Nigeria (or maybe unprofessional). I have two tenants who have not paid for over a year and have refused to pay or move out. While in civilized countries the courts would be an option, but here in Nigeria this will just delay for ever and ever and the tenant just enjoys your house for free in the interim. Any info is welcome. |
VISTIN:The fact that it's in the middle of town in itself adds some cost cos you cannot do it full blast like the same 2km road in the middle of nowhere. Besides the specs for the road is different due to the very heavy load it bears. Trust me, depending on specs, soil structure, terrain etc same length of road can cost N20b in one place and N40b in another part of the country. |
smile in particular needs to increase their data. They probably have the worst value for money among the LTE providers and it's not really as of their service is better than every one else's! |
From the N6k bundle they probably provide the best value for money. Hope the market can sustain everybody though? We now have swift, smile, ipnx, spectranet, cyberspace and the Gsm companies! |
aotlatitude:I concur. Here in PH etisalat has been unusually slow for the past month or so. |
I agree. Glo is looking more and more like the first network to go under. Their network has been pretty poor for years and it seems the owner is refusing to invest in equipment upgrade. Sure sign of a dying company. |
Is the OTP for real? There is nothing cheaper about this. Same plans as they've had for years except for the first 2. On case you don't know airtel has N5k for 12 Gb, MTN has N5k for 10Gb and you tell me etisalat N6.5k for 5Gb is cheap!? |
Why is PPPRA still relevant in a deregulated environment? They should keep the best of them and let the others go. |
bejeiodus:True, but you have to make choices based on what you see. If a had to choose between that government and this one managing the savings, I'd choose this one. ![]() |
bejeiodus:You have a point. But the main reason it was opposed it then was because people had no confidence in the ability of the government of the time to use the saved funds wisely. Also the economic conditions are very different. Even labour unions now must bow to the superior economic arguments. Personally I've always supported subsidy removal. |
But no be lie now!! In public sector, private sector, even churches...corruption is everywhere! Make everyone who has commented on this topic a Minister today and let's see how many can be proven not to have misappropriated at least N100k in one year. We should stop being hypocritical to ourselves!! The truth is the truth! Everyone kicks against corruption on paper, but keep N5k with anyone, even a 10 year old kid these days, and you will struggle to get it back complete. |
I agree. Just finished using it and I didn't get the impression it was a complete 12Gb either. Besides Airtel network seems to have slowed down in recent weeks except in the dead of night. |
They have been in Port Harcourt for about 3 months now. |
Meanwhile I don't see any update on their website o. Is this real abi na Bobo? |
I think MTN is preparing ahead for their LTE. They want to make the 3.5g data cheap and the LTE one more expensive most probably cos I don't see their data being at these rates when they start LTE. |
HIGHESTPOPORI:That was done with sureP |
Pidggin:Well said! That statement about handling militants like boko haram lacked tact! Boko haram is way easier to defeat than ND militants mainly due to the terrain. This Nigeria get problems Sha. I can really relate to those who want to get out of this country by all means. Nigeria never helps you... it always bleeps you up the more...!! |
They should all be a bit worried, especially Gsm networks like airtel and etisalat that have no access to spectrum that can be used to deliver LTE and even LTE companies like smile and Co that don't have national spread. Now we know why etisalat wanted to cry foul when MTN bought visa phone. MTN is big enough and has deep enough pockets to dominate the others of it gets LTE before them which will be a big deal because up till now data was probably the only area where MTN wasnt a leader. The emergence of this LTE is why airtel have suddenly started mega data packs like glo. Glo was because it knows that is data network is the worst so it had to lead in data volume. Airtels network on the other hand is okay, but it's planning ahead for the onslaught from MTN by giving more data and hopefully getting loyal customers locked in. Etisalat on the other hand hasn't fully played is card. This 4.5gb for 3.5 is the first step, but it probably has to do more than that. However it knows it has the best Gsm data network (which in some cases can rival a poor LTE network) so they are not as panicky. If mtns LTE will be priced like what I see on their hynet page for their existing LTE which is only available in Lagos and ibadan at the moment, then it's be worried too. |
greenhulk:If they ever get to 5m subscribers at this rate...! |
Rather drab looking house |
And why exactly are service Chiefs driving BMW 7series!! This is a luxury car. Why does a camry not suffice. |
Personally I think they are dead on arrival. If this is how they intend to start in a business where they are a very late entrant, then it's all over before or has even begun. Come to think of it though, I wonder if this commercial operations is just a smoke screen! It could be they bought nitel just to get access to physical landed properties, of which nitel has plenty juicy one's across the country. |
ugolance:Continue to sit down on your sorry behind Continue complaint about Dangotes actions o! The man is taking the rewards of investment. The typical Nigerian business man likes to simply trade. Buy and sell finish. They refuse to manufacture because it takes more time, more thinking, more investment, but much more reward. Lafarge was in Nigeria long before dangote started manufacturing cement, but the had maintained the same level of production for almost 15 years. Only when dangote start producing far more than them did they invest in another plant. So why would such a company now cry foul because dangote produces say 5 times more cement than them. |
modath:Yes we want jail terms!! If they stole, then they should do their time. Simple! If they had never stolen would they have been able to be persecuted? |
The bleaching creams of these days ehn....the fairness no dey get part two!! |
otokx:I tire o! Just bought at 210 an hour ago. Seems to be gradually coming down though. |
