MISTAICEY02288: Good! It’s high time those useless people get taught a lesson. The useless Reps have failed to call Multichoice to order with the way they keep milking Nigerians of their hard earned money and that’s because they’ve been bribed to shut their mouths. I even heard most of them have shares with Multichoice and that’s why they don’t care as long as money keeps coming to their Accounts. Normally, a country should have more companies like Multichoice who will provide proper competition to them in the market but the useless people have decided to make Only Multichoice have ultimate Power in Nigeria. That’s why we don’t have other Cable TV companies who will be showing top leagues live matches like DSTV do. Even the TSTV we had hopes on to tackle Multichoice, they’ve been rendered powerless and useless already.
Imagine paying insane amounts for Gotv and DSTV which one wouldn’t even have time to enjoy because of work and the few hours to watch on weekends and after work on weekdays sef, PHCN will still take off Power too. Then after a month, these clowns will suspend the subscription. And I heard this Pay Per View option is available in South Africa their Base and some other African countries ooo. But they don’t wanna provide it here in Nigeria. Bunch of thieves…
Why not provide the link the the DSTV country site where said pay as you go billing exists?? You probably cant because it doesn't exist.
I have personally googles for DSTV SA and like 5 other countries in Eastern and Southern Africa and there is no such thing
If you see what just N200m will get you in South Africa. Far better contemporary design and more importantly lovely outdoor space with garden and greenery.
Not this sterile property!! But then again Nigerians don't value grass and natural light. It's like properties in Nigeria are increasingly making windows smaller instead of bigger.

[quote author=optimusprime2 post=122713991]I can tell you this, the complete layout of the Dubai of today was built in 15years.
Guess what? This was achieved with the same oil money Nigeria has.[/quote
Fake news! The picture on the left is a well established picture that has been circulated several times. That picture was dated 1955 or there about in the previous versions of that picture
you were asked "is Dubai richer than Nigeria in resources?" and you said yes because they have more oil. how does that now mean they are richer than nigeria in resources?
lexy2014: you were asked "is Dubai richer than Nigeria in resources?" and you said yes because they have more oil. how does that now mean they are richer than nigeria in resources?
what is a country's greatest resource?
If resources are not being monetized of what use is it in the current conversation? What good is $1trln worth of gold on the ground if it's just wallowing there!?
Total FG budget of about N15trillion is just $20bln!!
Meanwhile California's budget for 2023 $297billion. One state o! Lagos budget is just $1.7bln. Multiply that over 50years of development and see the developmental gap it creates.
Fineman2: We have money but lack visionary leaders
We don't have money!! It's important we reset our mind. The budget of Texas, US is like 10 times bigger than the budget of the Federal Government of Nigeria. There are municipalities (like LG)bin US that have bigger budgets than Lagos State.
And another factor is that a lot of what you see is built by the private sector. It's not government that builds all these skyscrapers ,but private companies and money to lease out to companies.
Apple alone is richer than FG, 36 states and 774 (or however many) LG in Nigeria combined.
Apple alone is more capitalized than all companies on the Nigerian Stock exchange combined.
It's important to put how far back we are into context, before we start hoping for Nigeria to be like these countries . We can be much better than where we are if we were to root out mind boggling corruption, incompetence etc, but still
Lol, tell us what we don't know. That why the property prices in Lagos are always going up, because people with illicit wealth keep chasing these properties. How many jobs in Nigeria pay more than one million a month, yet Vi, Eko Atlantic, oniru, Lekki ph1, osapa, ikate are full of houses selling for N200mln and above. Who is buying all these houses?
THEbaddest007: I am currently a student in one of the best federal University in Nigeria. My current cgpa is 4.63 and I got it without any form of malpractice aka expo. I achieved it with hardwork and dedication. I am not boasting in any way but I am trying to build the confidence of average students that they can get an excellent result without engaging in any form of malpractice or looking for short cut to pass. What they need to do is to work very hard and be fully dedicated to their studies. And lastly, school is not a scam because lots of great men have benefited from it. Great men like Peter obi, chukwuma soludo, wole soyinka, yemi osinbajo.
They should knock down the stadium and sell the land to property developers.
We have no need of 2 national stadiums managed by the federal government. Let's keep Abuja as our national stadium.
There should be no sentiment involved. Likelihood of Nigeria having a League that's buoyant enough to properly make use of that edifice in the next 10years is almost zero.
As at today that stadium is resulting in negative cashflow to the FG. And with our current economic malaise, we should be keeping assets thats resulting in negative cash flow.
Acidosis: What type of haulage do you do with diesel? How many Nigerians use God is Goods Motors compared to Uber/Bolt, Okada, and Keke on a daily basis?
The only reason some Nigerians still go to work today is because, after deducting their t-fare from their salaries, they manage to save 10-20% for personal use. Just wait for subsidy removal... You will come back to edit this post.
What you described is transportation not haulage. Haulage relates to goods. All the lorries that bring yam, cement, tomatoes etc are they not diesel ?
happney65: That is it. Reasons why I never supported Jonathan in his second term bid was because of this so called issue. Why is it difficult for the Nigerian government to fix our refinery and pushing their ineptitude to the people. Why?
Subsidy removal on Diesel has made Diesel worst and made production very very high leading to inflation. Kerosene too has been removed and nobody even buys kerosene again sef due to the price. Yet you can't fix refinery to work na to push it to the people.
The money they were wasting on the trains and stuffs shey they can't use it to fix power and our refinery.
Just brace up, una go see shege. Buhari kuku knows what is at stake that is why he pushed it to the next administration.
Sodiki ologbon.
Not sure that local refining will reduce prices more than 10%.
I'm not sure there's a country as poorly run as Nigeria. Cost are high, but to sack workers,They have no balls to do so. To reduce government spending, they have no willpower to do so. Revenues are low, but to tax the appropriate rich people in the society, they refuse to do so.
Rapmoney: In an article published on March, 30 2023 by eurostat, an official website of the European Union, the average hourly costs of labour in EU (European Union) countries in 2022 were reviewed. Bulgaria, with the lowest cost of labour per hour stood at 8 euros while Luxembourg with the highest stood at 51 euros.
Let's use the lowest European paying country for this analysis which is Bulgaria. If you work 40 hours per week in Bulagaria, (which shouldn't be lesser as a healthy person without disabilities) that is:
Multiply that 40 hours by 4 which is four weeks in a month, that should be:
NGN163,598 x 4 = NGN654,392
This means that a Nigerian working in the poorest country among the EU countries can boast of a salary over 500k in a month converted to Nigerian Naira. Should we still make analysis on the highest EU paying country, Luxembourg? With this here, I don't think that will be necessary.
It is really a loss of human dignity to offer labour that will not change your living standard.
This analysis of income it's not complete without associated cost. Compare petrol price alone and rent and you'll likely see Nigeria's Cost of living is less.

Nigerians generally are not deep thinkers. Or problem solving skills is very poor. JAPA is not the problem, it's the symptom of many problems in Nigeria. After all like he said, not just those in the medical profession are leaving.
Kriss216: In Nigeria, the Ambassador would have been honoured.
We don't respect ourselves in Africa but we expect others to respect us!
What we do to ourselves in Nigeria, oyinbo man won't do to us (not counting Chinese and indians)
Working for a multinational company is sooo much better than working for a Nigerian company. Nigerian MD that will be saying workers don't need more than N250k, when the company is making big bucks bland he is enjoying lots of largesse!
Same with our Governor's with crazy retirement packages in the poverty capital of the world.
adenigga: The incumbent Lagos State governor. You can see, when he came in; he cancelled the pension allowance, and that’s how it should be.
Sanwo olu didn't cancel it. I think the bill he sent was for it's cancellation, however the house of assembly, b obviously taking instructions from their master, just reduced some items.
