The truth is, I didn't see any phone when I dropped her and the guy swore that he didn't take any phone.

I even sent her a message that I'm ready to come back to where I dropped her, if she wants, but she didn't reply me.

Thanks Jare, baba

Ha! In a tense situation like that, don't do the mistake of going to meet rider in their comfort zone to explain what kwanu ? A mob may be waiting for you. Na naija we dey Ooo.. people wey no even know how e take start will jump into conclusion.

You even waste your fuel go dey meet another rider accusing him of stealing a phone. That's another mistake because if nah werey rider u go meet, dem go change am for you.

That rider that refused to pay initially but later paid, God know say if nah me I will not even go on that trip from the beginning because the red flags are already there.

I try as much as I can to avoid toxic riders. Me self get my own frustrations for head but I try as much as I can not to pass it onto another person.

Last Sunday I got a request around 10pm from lekki going to ikeja, normal normal, nah very juicy trip for me that stays on the mainland. But the attitude of the rider made me cancel after like one minute talk over the phone.

Me: Good evening ma, I will be there in 7 minutes going by Google map.
Rider : Did not even return the greetings. Just start coming, be fast and that 7 minutes is too much.
Me : Still maintaining my cool, I already told you how long it will take, sometimes it might not be up to that. Can you wait for 7 minutes ?
Rider : Oga stop talking too much and start coming.
Me : Just ended the call, cancel and set my destination back.
E no pass like that.

Also, drivers should make sure that their inner lights are working very well, so that anytime a rider alights, there would be enough light for you and the rider to see any item a rider is about to leave behind.

Going should be free from lekki but coming back, don't take lekki, take ijebu ode n probably order ride to drop the person you will be picking up at lekki.

Don't take lekki coming back..

Okay thanks. At lekki now to pick the second person.

Why take lekki from magodo when you can just take ijebu ode without traffic and enjoy smooth ride...

We are picking up the second person from lekki. The trip is today. In all my experience, I never go beyond sangotedo.
Any tips on how to get epe via that route? Or make I just fire dey go

Aikorodu road is on lockdown all the way from jibowu to ojota. Imagine working on that ojota bridge by this time of the day.
Doing the right thing at the wrong time.

Those are conditional bonuses but this 50k bonus which is divided into 10k every week has no condition.

Whether you decline or cancel, it won't affect it, just finish 50 trips in 7 days and you will have the 10k

Nah the annoyance of that last time wey I chase bonus make me no dey even look into anything bonus again. This one self no go still work for me since na only weekend I dey mostly hustle.
Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by confusedworld17: 11:21am On Nov 28, 2023
The thing about those bonuses is that bolt will make you pay for the money that you are getting as bonus, by making you burn extra fuel for long pick ups in order to get the bonus.
except there's another way you guys by pass the finishing rate.
Even when rider cancel self, even before moving an inch, na driver go still bear the brunt.
I once did 15 trips on a sunday for a 7 trips bonus, yet bolt ruled me out on finishing rate rate.
Rider go put MM1 instead of MM2, on getting there rider go say, no na MM2, bolt go record that one as not finished.
If e get another way, make I come inbox for tips.

[quote author=Omoapena post=127053053]This Lagos is wild, I was on my way from osapa to unilag when I entered a big pot hole and my tyre deflated instantly, I parked by the road side to switch my tyre with the spare only for these touts/miscreants to appear from nowhere, they were 7 in numbers, they offered to help me but I said I'm okay with changing the tyre myself, I thought they would leave after telling them that but to my surprise, they were waiting.

Mine was at ikeja Along, by that conoil filling station.
Before I even loose the punctured tire finish, some dodgy looking guys don surround me.
Long story short... na the security for the filling station beg them to collect 1k from me. People just dey pass, nobody put mouth for the matter, and nah day time oo...

Another one na for night along capitol road agege. Nah rider settle them with 5k. When we got to rider's destination at egbeda, I told rider not to pay for the ride that I already ended the ride at agege but he insisted and gave me 3k. Some riders no get P i swear.

One of my funny experience with police in my early uber days.
I was to pick a rider at bariga, getting to oworo bus stop towards island, google map say turn right, I was kind of confused because there were lots of people their selling things and that place didn't look like there was a road there.
Na so I ask the police men wey pack their car there say weda road pass there, na so one of the police men shout at me say "Oga move this car now or I arrest you"
Omo! na so I face thirdmainland bridge Oo..

You're actually not getting my point and you're not realistic! I guess you just want accolades here!

I am not looking down on myself. As a matter of fact, I am a graduate with professional certifications and vast experience in my field.

In as much as there is dignity in every labour, there are still some hustle you can't boldly say openly at a certain gathering or function. There are still some hustle you can't be proud to say at a particular function and one of them is a driver!

If you lie to yourself about the stigmatisation of this hustle, then jokes on you!

This is Nigeria. We look down so much on some hustle. It is not like that abroad. People respect uber drivers abroad. Nigerians treat drivers like piece of sh1t. I once sat with a friend who brought his lecturer friend along. She's a female lecturer at unilag. We talked for long. She introduced herself and when she asked what I do, I told her I'm an uber driver......she went; oops...sorry, I shouldn't have asked! I said why? She said; never mind! Then I went as far as telling her my degree, prof qualification, experience and the MNC's I had worked with. I am explaining this because there are calibres of people you would sit with, you won't be able to say you're doing uber cos they will look down on you. It might even spoil things or deter opportunities you might get. I'd rather tell you my field(not uber) and then crown it with; "I'm inbetween jobs at the moment"

'PACKAGING'.
May you always last long in za oza room.

U will use 12k fuel on that journey. To and fro plus any waka within Ijebuode. So add ur minimum daily earnings to that and u should know what u will charge. Don't go lower than ur daily earnings for any reason.

For me I will not do that trip for less than 40k now. People need to understand that things have changed.

The 12k fuel is for what type of car ? I use biggy.
How is the road to that place and what rout is best to follow ?

It's safe to pick up at the entrance gate, as it changed? What part of the beach is the harassment taking place?
