I don't know how much tertiary institution teachers are paid per month, what I saw up there are basic salaries and someone said they receive up to 650k and that the stated amounts were false.

It can't be for a year. I know a time when salary of senior lecturers in the university of Ibadan ranged between 550k to 650k. But I don't know of now.
Some States own universities are paying pretty good too...I know a state owns university that was paying between 350k and 450-500k in southwest...a friend of mine was paying 150k as an assistance lecturer while junior lecturer was collecting 180k some few years ago.
