Visocrate:You call Peter Obi an intellectual? You obviously do not know the meaning of the word. I am from Anambra state, and I make bold to say that Peter Obi does not have what it takes to be president of Nigeria. Go to Anambra and check out roads constructed under his administration. Most of them have now been taken over by potholes, in less than a decade. As governor, for eight years, he handpicked LGA executives and couldn't conduct an election. Which serious minded leader plays down governance at that lowest level? Did he account for LGA funds? Also, he has proven not to be a trustworthy leader by saving most of Anambra funds in a bank in which he holds the most stake? What do you call that? Oga, you don't know Peter Obi one bit. Forget what you see on TV. We sabi am reach him town, Agulu. |
mrvitalis:Where did I mention polytechnic or all these that you talked about? Bros, e be like say you need rest o. Try rest. |
mrvitalis:What would you call an engineering graduate? A tailor? Registration with engineering regulatory bodies or associations is a different thing altogether. However, every engineering graduate is an engineer. That is why you see those with COREN, NSE indicating and attaching these titles to their names. |
mrvitalis:What is this one saying? You mean google will reveal that engineers are not expected to carryout maintenance or installation tasks? To be an engineer, you have to become a technician and a technologist. These are stages to becoming an engineer. So, every engineer is a technician and a technologist. We too dey carry body sef. I am an engineer and I do not see anything wrong with carrying out repairs and maintenance tasks. |
mrvitalis:Oga, I am an engineer. There is nothing around repair or maintenance that an engineer shouldn't do. Or is there a law now prohibiting engineers from carrying out maintenance? Mind you, engineers are technicians and technologists too...it is just a slightly higher technical title. |
GooodHardDick:You are not making any sense. Say things that make the worst president.... otherwise keep quiet. |
qekng40:Neither of them would emerge as candidates. |
CapnMike:You have made valid points, which I agree to wholesomely. I think we all have to concentrate on doing our bits in our small areas to help better the country. Make we leave all these 'technical adviser roles' and start fixing our little space within the larger Nigeria. |
CoronaVirusPro:Abeg, who talk am again? Lol. They won't kill me in this country. |
CapnMike:Why would I condemn him when he spoke against internet fraudsters? I dey mad? You can't say I hate him because I disagreed with him in this instance. I actually was among people who hailed his condemnation of 'yahoo yahoo'. I condemn it everyday. I have been to Ibiyeomie's Church at Birabi in the GRA area of Port Harcourt. I no hate am, but I must not agree with everything he says. I no dey do 'blind following'. What I know for sure is that religious organizations can do more to fix Nigeria's economic and moral ills. Building physical edifices and always attempting to exonerate herself from our collective challenges, is the wrong approach. As for what you said about a child having good home training and veering in the other direction at adulthood, that is subjective. What you call good home training may fall far below par, by another person's evaluation. E get who go gree say e no train him pikin well? I still maintain that the home, the community, the school and the Church / mosque have a huge role to play in restoring Nigeria's moral standards, and better the country. It may not be Ibiyeomie directly, but his colleagues, in their numbers, are involved in 'prayer on laptops' for yahoo boys, and are accomplices in many money ritual killings. There is no doubt, that the Church, in particular, is responsible for fueling the craze for wealth among young people. You may keep defending all you want. I have just said what I believe is the gospel truth. Again, what Ibiyeomie said about voting individuals instead of parties does not hold any water. Where will the individuals that should be voted come from? The same society that is a moral mess abi? Voting party or individual isn't the issue. The issue should be how we can progressively and incrementally raise and nurture morally upright individuals in our society. How we can deemphasize materialism, and start recognizing and celebrating high moral standards. The home, the community, worship places and educational institutions are the most veritable platforms to achieving a better Nigeria. O gwu ka oham nonu. |
CapnMike:And the Bible called running for public office under a political party a sin abi? Which legit funds? When it comes to pastors, funds become legit. How would things get better when pastors no longer bother about what people, who donate huge sums to their churches, do for a living? Do you even know how massive his Church headquarters building is? You cannot convince me that all funds contributed and invested in that project in Igwuruta, Ikwerre LGA, are legit. There is nothing sensible in what he has said. They, pastors, contribute significantly to the mess our society has become. We have to say it as it is. If you dey fear to talk true, me I no dey fear. All we are facing today stem directly from failure of parenting, community, religious and national leaderships. No one should be exempted hiding under the Bible or Quaran. Una dey find am easy to play attacking positions if dem dey blame political leaders for our failures, but when dem mention pastors, una go go defence. |
Betece:Child! Food, fuel, public services, including schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, transportation utilities etc. Many things and more, unite us...football is just one of them. |
CapnMike:Is there any law in Nigeria requiring Nigerians not to vote party candidates but independent candidates? Is there even any such thing independent candidacy in Nigeria? What was your pastor even talking about? See how you are struggling just to justify your pastor... was it the Bible that told them to buy private jets and live lavish lifestyles as they now do, since you are now suggesting that they only rely on the Bible for everything they do? They even pray on the laptops of Yahoo boy and receive all kinds of material gifts from individuals with known questionable means and characters. Are they also acting in accordance to the Bible? |
Massiveglory:See this brainwashed fellow! You call ripping people off their monies and living in opulence a great way to run any system? The church is way worse off. Are their schools affordable? No! Do they pay taxes? No! They engage pastors and pay them peanuts, and they go about bragging about having created jobs? |
desiredhome:You dey mind dem? Dem wan be GO forever, yet dem want politicians to just do small, enter house. Dem worse pass politicians sef. |
desiredhome:Very true! Ask Ibiyeomie how well he has ruled his Church? We he be willing to 'take a break' from Salvation Ministries make another person chop small? The illiteracy and poverty levels in Africa are alarming. |
Massiveglory:How is he right? Is it because he owns a big Church? What he said can only make sense if our system begins to allow independent candidacy. Otherwise, he hasn't said anything. I go advice am to mind him business, otherwise politicians too go advice tithe payers to give directly to the needy instead of pastors... |
Fahdiga:That is your own understanding. While I do not support Tinubu to be president, we must recognize that he, like other Nigerians, is entitled to aspire to be president. There is nothing to be ashamed about that. Age shouldn't be the reason he shouldn't be president. We should be talking about quality of ideas, programs, integrity, ability to get the job done etc. We have seen older presidents elsewhere that are doing well. We have also seen younger presidents that aren't doing well. How well did GEJ perform as president? Can he match Buhari's accomplishments despite being younger? |
FalseProphet1:I am glad they didn't qualify. Na this nonsense dem wan do for World Cup? They are a bunch of hopeless idiots. Imagine, as Nigeria big reach, we no fit find 11 players wey fit win match.... |
alsudan:You people keep talking anyhow. You and Reno relate sef? You left the hopeless Amaju Pinnick and Austin Eguavoen to blame Buhari.... You no just well at all. |
Rastaramsey:You sound as a fool that you are. See how you are pained that our troops are making successes with the fight against insurgency. Make e pain you well well...mumu! |
StaffofOrayan:. Lol. Na error, make I correct am. You dey mind all these people wey dey irritate person with their mumu opinions. How person go dey vex say him country dey triumph over terror? |
Rastaramsey:You sound as a fool that you are. See how you are pained that our troops are making successes with the fight against Covid-19 insurgency. Make e pain you well well...mumu! |
dawnomike:This is not about the North. Insecurity is everywhere. Parents and communities have lost control of their children. Kidnapping is now the order of the day. |
basseeafricana:I won't relocate anywhere. But he won't be president. Mark my words! |
Ekejoestar:Everything isn't about emotions. Even during the military regimes, when have we had two persons from the same half of the country, presiding over the country? What I think is that you never thought through what you wrote here. There is no iota of realism in it. You came across as a foreigner. Out of the three names you reeled out, only Fashola has what it takes to be president. The other two are 'other' versions of Goodluck Jonathan. Nigeria will overwhelm either Osinbajo and Obi. They can't handle her. Osinbajo is just being shielded by Buhari. He can't take on Nigeria's demons one on one. The right Nigerian leader is that person who could say NO to anyone, in the overall best interest of the country. Could Osinbajo do so to, perhaps, Pa Adeboye or Tinubu? As for Obi, he would just be shouting 'China, China', and won't be able to deliver quality infrastructures. He would be encircled by gluttons in the guise of contractors. Go to Anambra and see all the roads that were constructed under him, most have been taken over by potholes. Obi couldn't conduct LGA elections in his 8 years as governor. What a shame! Anyone who truly loves Nigeria will desire either a Fashola / Zulum or Fashola / Marwa ticket. Either of these tickets will deliver unforgettable rewards to Nigerians. |
Ekejoestar:Two Southerners team up to contest? Who are the we? Abeg, do not pair Fashola and Obi again, please. It is a huge mismatch. Why do you have to underrate Fashola just to pair him with Obi? Nawa for you o. |
FreeStuffsNG:job Tinubu won't be president. Why the waste of effort? |
HitRun:Consensuses are a key part of any democracy. So, I don't know what you are on about... |
Igbo:Oga, you may sit at home forever if you so wish. That can no longer stand in Anambra. This is one way Obiano failed Ndi Anambra. You don't allow some individuals hijack your state's leadership, by whatever guise. There is no sense in sitting at home. If IPOB truly feels disgruntled about Kanu's continued incarceration, they should go to Abuja and register their anger...not hurting the economy of Anambra. Obiano was too weak, they can't try that with a governor like Wike. If I be Anambra governor, dem neva born who go shutdown my economy for even one minute. |
Putindbutt:Mtchewww. Supreme commander of your households and umunna. We no sabi am for Anambra. Soludo is Anambra's governor and he has taken charge. Person wey wan continue to dey do IPOB, na for him pocket. Only a coward of a governor will allow some urchins overrun his state in whatever guise. Watch and see as things unfold. |
Frigga13:Keep deceiving yourself. Nobody cares about Obi in the North. Peter Obi can't even win Anambra in a presidential election. If you think otherwise, ask yourself if Obi is half as 'accepted' as the late Ikemba Nnewi, and if Ikemba was able to win Anambra in any of the elections he took part in? Who be Jonathan again abeg? |
