So much respect for Mr Raji. He is not ready to get any dirty with the despirados. I have 4 people on my list that should have been considered for president if we know what we are doing in this nation.
1. Bukola Saraki (will unify the country, drive innovations and give the youth a voice)
2. Raji Fashola (will focus on governance rather than politics and improve infrastructures)
3. Peter Obi (Contrary to the fear that he might grant Biafra, there will be no such thing as Biafra agitation again once Igbos are given their space and a chance in Aso rock. He'll make a good president)
4. Rotimi Ameachi (perhaps just my bias)
All other aspirants are either religious bigots, old mofos or ethnic bigots. The real problem is that we're still stucked with the old and weary power intoxicated persons who are bent on using all the money they have looted from the treasury to achieve their aim.
Na your village Saraki and Obi go rule.

You and I know that APC as a party lacks internal democracy. If you agree that ACN and CPC blocs are domineering, you are indirectly accepting that the interest of the smaller integral units are being eroded. Even the so-called consensus is a sheer imposition and not true to it's name. It's being piloted by a few actors from CPC bloc. That APGA and nPDP are silent does not translate to being properly represented. But like you said, it's still the human society.
There can't be balance in any human system

The word isn't domineering but dominant. It is unrealistic that the the nPDP and APGA elements in the APC will get equal amount of 'consideration'. The stakes obviously aren't the same. You know this.

The Isokos want to lead Delta state. So, do the Opobos, Okpes, Kalabaris, Okuns, Ijaws, Idomas and countless other small ethic groups, in different states where they are minorities.

In the advanced democracies, they call it the 'establishment' or something. The Bidens of this world have been in leadership for ages. You know this. Is that what democracy is all about? Macron was lucky to have emerged from outside the establishment. Same with Trump, who was sent packing, as quickly as possible. World governance systems are human creations with inherent flaws.

Consensus candidacies are strategies for minimizing foreseeable internal wrangling and tensions that could cause political parties to implode. Certainly, the nPDP and APGA elements will form part of the new party leadership, within the size of their stakes in the party. These stakes will grow with time, if the key actors continue to up their arts of politics.

That they are not being considered for the Chairmanship at the moment does not in any way erode their significance the union.

What sort of democracy does the US practice when for tons of decades, governance affairs has only been between the Democrats and Republicans? How could the interests of the other parties be made to bear on the nation with just two dominating the polity?

I have severally, on different fora, called for the prosecution of anyone who is alleged to have misappropriated or embezzled public funds, including Willie Obiano, and in future, Charles Soludo, and myself.

Anyone who claims to be from Anambra, and who tags this a witch-hunt or victimization, is an impostor. That individual is an enemy of Anambra state.

joey150:
You cannot solve mass transportation in an already congested and overpopulated city like Lagos by sharing "uber taxis."

What do these silly politicians see when they travel abroad?

Don't they see an urban bus and ticketing system?

Don't they see dependable overhead and underground train systems?

Don't they see ferries and inland waterways transportation?

Are you going to convey all of Lagos in those cars? Adding even more traffic to an already congested city? If anything, a forward thinking government would be thinking of ways to get more cars off the roads of Lagos than more cars on it.

Apart from the fact that the money for most of those cars will never be recouped, this ride taxi scheme is a white elephant project that was established to enrich a few government officials by way of bogus contracts and free cars.
I really think mass transportation should be the priority for Lagos...not means that can only take 1 - 5 passengers, thereby putting more vehicles on the roads, and further crippling the economy by aggravating manhour losses.

This isn't fantastic for me, at all.

Something doesn't sound right about this Buhari's order.

In most countries that run democracy, like the U.S. that we copy from, the party chairman is the cheif negotiator of any coalition agreement. We have almost forgotten that the 2015 aggrieved APGA faction and the New PDP are part and parcel of the present day APC.

To avoid bad blood within the party, since the ACN and CPC blocs are evenly domineering, I think whatever consensus decision the party is making ought to be mutually agreed upon.

In the absence of a sitting chairman, the negotiation should be the job of internal working committee and BoT in lieu of executive order.
Could you come again?

Do you have any proof that the nPDP and APGA factions were not part of the ongoing engagements?

As for the dominance by the ACN and CPC blocs, that will continue to linger for a long time. It is only natural as the two blocs truly represent the soul of the coalition. We all know this.

Worse politics go on even in the advance countries that practice democracy, including the US. Let's not be deceived. At the end of the day, what we have are human societies.

Who amongst our leaders is not engrossed in scandal, theft, embezzlement, murder. Drug dealing, forgery etc etc. All our leaders are crooks and thugs because they are a reflection of society. Examine your own life first before you start pointing fingers.

I am not a fan of PDP, and I have never and will never vote PDP, I did not vote for Buhari either in both elections because I remmember he was a colossal failure in 1984. I simply made an unemotional analysis on PDPs best chances in the elections. in any event who are you to talk? As for intelligence Although I am no fan of Wike, he has shown more intelligence that you have in your post. All your so called gentlemen politicians, he was the one intelligent enough to challenge the illegality of VAT, which will go down as one of the most profound decisions in Nigeria!

The problem with people like you social media warriors is you are so arrogant you are detached from reality, you talk of quality of leadership do you participate in the process that produces the candidates, are you a card carrying party member? Have you seen the people who do and are party members?. People like Wike are in touch with reality so they win elections! People like you become lifetime internet moaners. You wishes mean nothing of you take no action to wrestle power from the people you call thugs…..it’s just BS virtue signaling and of no consequence except to make you feel intelligent…. But the intelligent people are the drivers, thugs, market women etc who engage at the grassroots level, are party members and participate in primaries and hence determine your leaders!!!! The irony huh?

Sometimes just read and STFU if you have nothing meaningful to contribute! The problem with the so called educated Nigerian is that he feels his certificate confers him intelligence, he feels superior but if he were to really analyze Nigeria he would realize the dumbest people in Nigeria are the average educated middle class Nigerians who are ruled by people they call thugs and can’t even afford to send their children to the schools they attended.
You must be brain dead to have written this lengthy nonsense.

No sane person would use Wike and the word intelligent in one sentence.

How was Buhari a collosal failure in 1984? Mtchewww. You clearly are a senseless talkative. How can anyone even rationalize or connect all the nonsense you wrote to make any sense?

He knows it is going to the north and he is hoping Atiku will pick him

No matter who PDP choose they face a tough battle. Personally I think Obi is a liability even as VP. PDP should go with Wike or Makinde as VP.

PDP esp SE People will abuse me but the purpose of a vp is to win you votes in areas where you are not strong or encroach into opposition heartland. Obi did not win Atiku any new votes aputside SE last time and he even got less votes in SE than Jonathan therefore he was a liability to Atiku. SE are not voting for APC combine that with fact that Obi actually scored less votes in SE for PDP than Jonathan, he is an electoral liability. That is what the numbers say and let’s not forget at the end of the noise and sentiment, elections are about nothing but NUMBERS!

Another major problem Ibos have politically is that they have migrated and spread themselves around the country so much, that they do not have the voting numbers back home to be a significant and desirable electoral bride and they are too thinly spread across the country to affect the outcomes of election where they reside. Even their population in Lagos is not yet enough to significantly affect the Lagos elections. In places where it is they are intimidated by the locals.
You must be a big fan of thuggery to have named Wike as a possible VP of Nigeria.

Anybody who truly loves Nigeria won't imagine an unintelligent and thuggish fellow as VP in the Nigeria of today. Infact, the pairing should never be anything short of what we currently have.

What do you take the position VP for? You want us to end up with another Jonathan-like figure?
