And even going by the figure you quoted, if we assume it is correct, then 9ja with a population of almost 200 million, (9 times Cameroon at about 22 million) should have about 14,000 MW installed capacity (yet we barely have 5,000MW), see why they may have better electricity than some parts of 9ja (if not all), and don't get me wrong, am not saying Cameroon is a better country, certainly not, cos na same same, high-handedness style of governance, state-controlled economy, poor country like 9ja, and so on. Whether you like it or not,there's a point in what was posted and nothing there says you must find or get your wife from inside the church. For me, I think basically that phase (24-29) is the period of self-discovery; where you should try to attempt different tasks, activities, adventures, businesses and what have you. You practically have little to nothing to lose at that period and should pick a lot of learning from what eventually pan out for you as a growing man. By age 30, you should have understood what love means to every female folk out there (whether from rich or humble background), you should understand rudiments of business in 9ja (being streetwise), you should understand who your true friends are and the ones that are just 'using you' to advance in life.

By age 22, I was privileged to have finished uni at one of the great unis in 9ja, served my beloved country and by 23, was working in a big and well structured commercial bank in V.I, Lagos. At 24, I got my first ride, got involved with different babes and by 25, I started crafting out all sorts of business ideas flying in my brains. Guess what, it wasn't easy at all, 'cos I moved out of family house at age 24 and was practically becoming a man of my own.

Meanwhile, before starting out my first business (a mid-size restaurant with capacity for 50) through my hard-earned savings of two years and a friend's support, I had left the commercial bank to join a top Management Consulting Firm in V.I and started developing business acumen.

Dont bother your head too much. I had #1.3m cash on friday to deposit in the bank and I simply split it into #400k in 3 places and another 100k.if they want to make it cumulative, then I'd simply pay into separate accounts with 2 or 3 banks.they think they're wise abi, we'd let them know we are equally as smart. The trade off is you now need to fill more tellers instead of just one. The choice is yours-either you pay their charges (which wud av been like #26,000 in my own case) or fill more tellers.

I woke up this morning with the news that FCSC has shortlisted lists of successful candidates in the ongoing recruitment exercise by the Commission in various Federal Ministries.

Succinctly, I have a friend who studied Business Administration with 3rd Class, while I have Msc and Bsc (2.1) all in Economics. Both of us applied for the same position (SGL 09) in the Ministry of Trade & Investment. Perhaps, to my greatest perplexity, this guy's name was shortlisted while mine was conspicuously missing. Just a few minutes ago he opened up to me that the father made "some calls" on his behalf prior to this time.

For your information, we are of the same age bracket, applied for same position, from the same State. So what criteria could have been used to disqualify someone with Msc and Bsc (2.1) and someone with a 3rd Class was selected.

Holding other factors constant, I am so happy for him and I am so expectant that mine is coming. But this has kept me in an awe position, as the whole scenario depicts lack of correlation between merit and success in this entity called Nigeria.

If you think because you spend naira, it is naira you will use to buy goods that you import, then you are on a long thing (for instance). The essence of converting to a standard currency is to show you in comparative terms what your so called billions of naira is worth. It means if someone from South Africa or Yankee, brings in US$0.7 billion, he will be able to exchange it for the entire Lagos IGR that you are shouting about here, meanwhile that value is a tiny fraction of what he can buy in his own country, doesnt that tell you something.

If you even decide to go nominal, and divide the entire 300 billion naira among 20 million Lagosians, that comes to 15,000 naira for each person, per year. How much is that for goodness sakes in nominal terms? So a family of four children will receive barely #90,000 (including the parents) in a year. You see how poor 9ja is, if Lagos is the biggest state. Keep comparing yourself with failed states or countries (instead of better countries), you will never develop because of that.

Yet, this is barely upto a billion dollars, far less than Facebook's budget for research or apple's budget for marketing. If this is what the acclaimed no.1 state in 9ja can do, then 9ja is in serious trouble. If out of a population of over 20 million, it is $0.7billion you can show for it, when South Africa generates about #29 trillion (naira) or 100 * Lagos IGR ($70bn) with about 55 million people, then 9ja is on a long thing. Not surprised sha, when the entire country's budget is barely #7trillion (1/5th of South Africa's #34trillion)
