Lol. 4k per hour is a bit excessive in Nigeria tbh.

Might be cheaper to get a tutor off Fiverr.

You people have started with your adverts. So you mean you can finish A1-B2 in 4 months and be good enough to pass? Hmmm una well done.
And by the way, it's the 4k per hour for tobidam you guys keep recommending for people, you people should have the fear of God.

It's not love.

Love does not act blind to HUGE red flags.

Omihanifa:
Marriage that just clocked 1year o undecided
Am sure he saw the red flags but he was so in love and he ignored them.

The girls of nowadays don’t really love o they are just there for what they can gain. They care more about flexing and social media.

Imagine chioma can’t carry her 3yr old son along with her to Ibadan. She left the baby with nanny.

Skales wife too couldn’t rush home to assist his mother in law when she had panic attack. Despite the fact that she was 10 mins away from the house.

I firmly believe that even those Nigerians who (claim to be) "clean", HAVE to have grace for others.

Just know that whatever is happening in the cities, is MUCH worse in the villages.

Magnoliaa:
Very annoying elements.

They will now start complaining of loose morals and hypersexual women that they helped create and by "catching them young."

Sadly, and with great annoyance, I cannot disagree with you.

It was always bad, and is bad around the world.

However, it seems to have gotten much worse in Nigeria over the last decade.

Even ordinary secondary school girls are not safe. Some understand this early on and use it to their advantage. What my younger cousins told me "their classmates" did from JS up until uni is mind-boggling.

Magnoliaa:
Look at the men denying.

When they want to shame career women, they accuse them of advancing in their fields by sleeping with their bosses, but everytime some woman who didn't accept to "sleep her way to the top" come out to complain, the same men suddenly turn around and say she's lying, smh.
CrimeRe: Police Officer Accuses Her Superior Of Assaulting Her For Refusing His Advances by cooooooks(m): 2:19pm On Nov 02, 2022
It is very likely. The rate at which superiors demand or seek sexual favours in Nigeria is crazy.

Chineke!! It has happened again. I am agreeing with Magnolia (with caveats).

The Disney lies are crazy. There is no ONE person that each person is made for. Just have a few steadfast criteria. There will be a limited but not overly exclusive number of people that you meet who meet those basic necessities.

And Bob's your uncle, you don find spouse.

It is very possible to have a perfect spouse but understand that if a few things changed, you would have married someone else.

Magnoliaa:
Abi now.

That's why I support women marrying a man for convenience and his availability.

Fk 'soulmate, love, the right person' and stuff like that. They are simply time-wasting lies sold to women.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by cooooooks(m): 5:03pm On Nov 01, 2022
Quebec makes a concerted effort to keep the regions active.

There is also a doctor shortage in the regions here, but there is a doctor shortage everywhere in QC. They are trying to fill these shortages, including with immigration (of both actual doctors and students).

bepositive11:
Really? I've gone through a number of threads by locals in British Columbia and Ontario who have lived in Vancouver, Ottawa or Toronto and rural areas. They always say that life is boring in rural areas compared to main cities, and it's harder to find doctors.

Maybe that's not the case for Quebec? It's either that or they're just trying to lure immigrants with those claims grin

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by cooooooks(m): 6:37pm On Oct 30, 2022
But that's the issue.

Per the Quebec govt and govt affiliated agencies:
There are unfilled jobs outside Montreal, and there will be even more over the next few years.
Leisure, amenities are also great outside of Montreal.
Even infrastructure is good outside, after all the current government is voted mostly by those outside Montreal.

The major thing tying people to Montreal are:
- ethnic communities
- existing friendships
- the airport
- fear

bepositive11:
I think Canada needs to find better solutions to that problem. What's happening in Montreal is also happening in British Colombia and Toronto. Even if Quebec moves immigrants to rural areas, they will eventually want to move to Montreal for better opportunities - jobs, healthcare, leisure, entertainment, etc.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by cooooooks(m): 6:15pm On Oct 30, 2022
If anything, the order is in the reverse. What is happening in Toronto, Vancouver is beginning to happen to Montreal.

Montreal is especially bad because even though costs (mostly housing) are increasing to Toronto levels, wages are far from Toronto levels.

I find that Quebec is taking concrete steps, more than Toronto:
- regionalization policy
- the education policy
- wage support in some rural areas
- travel support ($500 for 1 flight ticket per year I think).

I've heard rumblings of mortgage support, rent to own support, etc.

TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by cooooooks(m): 2:56pm On Oct 30, 2022
Why defer?

Your gf can equally come to UK directly. As she is in the US (legally), and also has a Canadian visa, UK visa would be easy to get.

She could also visit Nigeria for 2 weeks.

Thanks for the advice and info. I really appreciate.
Actually, I got an admission offer in the U.K. which was suppose to commence next month, I included the offer letter in the application and in one or two of the web forms, I attached the receipt of my tuition fee deposit. The plan was to visit and spend 2 weeks with my girlfriend who already has her Canadian visa and is coming from the U.S. and then come back to prepare for my program which starts next month. Their delay is affecting my plans and I have to defer the admission until next year.

If you're starting from scratch, my advice:

Do a free online course.
https://www.laits.utexas.edu/fi/
I believe Harvard OCW also has one.
There are a couple low fee courses on Coursera and Udemy.

Get a textbook:
Get a beginner french textbook. At this level, it doesn't really matter which one. You could easily download the pdf. My advice is, get one with audio as well (or audio available online).

When you know the colours, can conjugate avoir, être, then I think you can then look for a tutor.

As you get to B1 level, you need a tutor. You need the tutor to help with exceptions, with prononciation, etc.

Attend or host Duolingo French meetups.

I hosted in Port Harcourt and was happy with the turnouts.

Wishing you the best.
ceecia:
I started intensive physical classes at Alliance Française in January 2021 till August 2021. I did A1-B1.2 there and left for physical classes at IEF because I decided to start preparing for TEF. I had hoped to write TEF in December 2021, however, I opted for DELF to have a taste of what a French exam will be like. I wasn't ready to throw away 210k for TEF just yet.

I finished my classes at IEF in December then I basically started having online speaking classes as I wasn't sure when I would be writing the exam. I was too scared to sit for the exam and end up failing. My tutor is a native speaker and he's really good.

Fast forward to May 2022, I decided to do TEF in ending of June so I started an online TEF class with IEF. Just when the class was rounding up and I was ready to register, the exam was suspended. I immediately had to switch to TCF. My TEF classes helped a little but the exam structure is quite different. So from July to August, I went back to my private tutor to help me with speaking and writing aspect while for listening, I kept listening to podcasts on RFI and French movies.

Concerning my experience with the exams. From my point of view, the listening aspect of TCF is the hardest because you hear the recording once and that's it.
The other aspects, reading is fairly easier because there are short texts and compared to TEF that have Shakespeare type of texts (sometimes I don't understand anything).
As for writing, you'd have to practice writing three different rédactions in 1 hour.
Speaking was also fairly easy( you can scale through with much practice) The first question is present yourself.

Hi,

Do you think it's possible to do spousal sponsorship for a long distance girlfriend of many years?

Do you think that's enough for common law?
GraciousWords:
These steps may help

First - please STUDY page 1
Second - job titles are irrelevant, his JD versus the NOC duties is what matters
Third - go to the NOC site https://noc.esdc.gc.ca/?GoCTemplateCulture=en-CA select NOC 2021 version 1, in the NOC title section type "construction", many NOC options will come up
Fourth - ignore the ones that TEER 4 and 5 and the ones that are obviously not it e.g. crane operator, bricklayer, carpenter, glazier, plumber, sheet metal worker, cook etc.
Fifth - painstakingly go through the duties of the ones remaining. The best NOC is the one where all or most of the main duties are already listed in his JD. You may use the method in this link from page 1 https://www.nairaland.com/6081746/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/283#96895306

The issue with 70010 IMO is not the manager in the title but that your JD shows more "assist" than "manage, direct, evaluate, control etc". Maybe relook 13201 and focus on the duties instead of the job title or name. Lead statement says:

13201 Production logistics coordinators coordinate and expedite the flow of work within an establishment, prepare work and production schedules and monitor the progress of production and construction projects.........They are employed by manufacturing and construction companies and other industrial establishments.

Also try this NOC advanced search option
https://noc.esdc.gc.ca/Search/AdvancedSearch

Not easy, but I'm sure you'll get there. Good luck!

Memorial is very responsive. At least a few years ago. (Then they were begging people to attend).

However, they are now in huge demand so perhaps they are less responsive.

Good Morning Everyone.

Please I have few questions.

1. Is GRE/IELTS parts of the requirements when applying for Msc in Artificial Intelligence in Memorial University(Newfoundland)

2. Will I be given a Study Visa if I got an admission from the university of Saskatchewan to study Sociology(I didn't study Sociology in school)

3. I heard Memorial University hardly gets back to people...How true is this.

Thank you.
