John 5:28-29 [28]Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s Son, [29]and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to experience eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to experience judgment.Daniel 12:2 [2]Many of those whose bodies lie dead and buried will rise up, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting disgrace.Their eternal life will continue on earth. tctrills: Can we both agree on something despite our differences? tctrills: It means that God has more than one fruit. Being the first doesn't mean the only fruit. Or the only fruit in heaven. As I said, these were clearly men of great importance in the kingdom. Again, there was no female in this group. They were Jesus's choir. Note the bible didn't even say they were in heaven but mount Sion. The point is these people will be resurrected first before the rest and rule with Christ. This the first resurrection. The others will be resurrected when the kingdom comes to earth to fulfill God's will. But the won't go to heaven but live on earth forever! |

See it's not about making heaven to enjoy. These people get work for there. They are kings and priests. And they are coming to earth to restore things. tctrills: I would say, you are making my point, These 144000 are only are part of the kingdom, Christ entourage. Were they special? Yes. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. Were they the only ones to make heaven? No, the bible never indicated such. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Are Jehovah Witnesses Right About Their Belief Against Blood Transfusion? by cornelboy(op): 1:44am On Jan 24, 2022 |
tctrills: It's clearly written, they are Christ's entourage to follow him everywhere he goes.
4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
Again, Revelations 14 did not say these men were with Christ in heaven. They stood with him on mount Sion. Up till now you have not pointed me to where the bible says only these men would be in heaven What does firstfruits unto God mean? Revelation 14:3 [3]This great choir sang a wonderful new song in front of the throne of God and before the four living beings and the twenty-four elders. No one could learn this song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. If i were you i would compare versions of the Bible not stick to KJ versions |

Revelation 14:4 [4]They have kept themselves as pure as virgins, following the Lamb wherever he goes. They have been purchased from among the people on the earth as a special offering to God and to the Lamb. Do you think the kingdom is just for boys in there late teens or early twenties that haven't had sex? What bout people like Paul, Peter Mary and the First 120 people that were baptized with holy spirit? You think Peter is still in the grave now waiting for resurrection while some boys are ruling with Christ? tctrills: Thats clear enough. See our aim here isn't to point out every time the bible does not mean something literally. They are millions of verses like that and no one would argue about that. But this isn't. Jonh took the pains to explain why they were virgins. It was clearly stated they had not had sex with women |

He meant they were worshipping other gods instead of YHWH. That makes them prostitutes. tctrills: Oga, in the old testament, Isaiah 57:3-13, JEHOVAH accused Israel of spiritual immorality, were they fornicating with women? No !!! I am not getting your point. You just said they were accused of spiritual immorality, not physical immorality. What is your point? |

Are you saying all the righteous will be in the kingdom of God? Are they in the kingdom presently, like did they go to inherit it after death or they will inherit the kingdom when Jesus comes back and they are resurrected from the dead? tctrills: 1st you have failed to show any scripture that says only 144000 men would be in the kingdom. Secondly, the bible does not need to use your words that every righteous person would be in the kingdom but it says it abundantly. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God 34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 'To him who overcomes I will give the privilege of sitting down with Me on My throne, as I also have overcome and have sat down with My Father on His throne But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Yeah i de feel you. This not for argument sake. Guy nobody fit be virgin forever. Even virgin Mary mother of Jesus was disflowered. Reason on the revelation verse i gave you bro about hell and death being cast into the lake of fire. It's not literal, it means something else. Figure it out yourself. Jesus didn't even say na only men go de the kingdom. I'll post that comment soon tctrills: My brother, we don't just decide to call stuff figurative for argument's sake. John was very clear, he explained that these guys have never been with women. Secondly, we are never told that these are the only people to go to heaven. That's the major issue here. You need to show why you think John was being figurative. |

The response is ready already but before i post it i have some questions? Is the book of revelation mostly literal or symbolic? Revelation 20:14 NLV [ 14]Then death and the grave (or hell) were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. Is grave hell or death something you can cast into fire literally? tctrills: I guess you are busy but I am having a swell time with another guy who believes in the 14400 thing. He has given me more than 10 verses, none says only 144000 people are going to heaven. Again, the 144,000 must be virgin men. that excludes Peter, he was married.
Can I ask you an honest question? Is there really any scripture that says only 144000 people are going to heaven? |

Your welcome. Thanks sister. John 14:17 [17]He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.... 26]But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.Pls try to check the verses yourself and study for the truth. God is one person, YHWH, the Almighty.Rosement: Just let's agree that we are both right in my own ways. You understand your belief very well and I understand mine very well also. I'm not following my parent's belief or a pastor's belief. From a young age, I have been studying the Bible on my own. When I listen to sermons that are not Biblically sound I don't observe them and I always pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance after reading the Bible. I even discovered that some of the doctrines of my parent's Church was limiting me for no reason, things that God did not limit us from doing was part of their doctrines.
When I became independent, I changed my Church to the one that corresponded with my faith and I avoid arguing with my parents about doctrine even when they bring up such arguments. I always head over to my house immediately after Church service is over, I did not even join any department in the Church so that I will not be noticed. I don't go to any pastor for extra prayers and I even prayed on my own to receive the Holy Spirit and He has been leading and directing my life. My visions and revelations use to come to pass. There was a time, I even was persuaded to deliver a friend Spiritually after she confessed that she was trying to hurt me, I did not even know I could perform deliverance on my own. I have had several personal experiences that make me believe I am on the right path.
I pray the Holy Spirit guides you to the right path and if I am the one on the wrong path, I pray the Holy Spirit guide me to the right path. Thanks for your concern. |

1 Corinthians 15:24-28 explain that at the end Jesus will be subjected under God's rule. Like God will take the authority and power and the kingdom He gave him back. Jesus would have finished his missions as the king by then.

You were sleeping or sleepwalking or oppressed which one? Electrochemistry: Happy Sunday to you all. I write for the sake of those who might be thinking that after life on Earth man goes back to a state of oblivion. I have once had a near death experienced some years ago and from then I never attempted to rubbish any religion. Religion has a point, a great point in infact. Now to those who live their lives as if human life ends on Earth, this is my experience: I slept one day, a day I would never forget in my lifetime, and had a bad dream. Then I forced myself to wake up by hitting my hand on the bedframe I wasn't able to wake up. I rose from the bed under closed eyelids and was walking around the room and feeling the walls of the room yet am not awake. I returned to the bed and forced myself this time very forcefully to wake up. What happened amazed me. I lifted my body but I saw another body of me lying on the bed. That was the day I saw my back as it was. I was afraid to get out of my body completely so I mentioned Christ in my heart and my soul ran back instantly to my body and my struggle to wake up was gone. My eyes became clear. It was a total surprise to me. So l don't know of other religions but as for Christianity, am never going to play with it. Mind you this is just one of my experiences. |

Yes I'm. Thanks for the encouraging words. DappaD: I didn’t join this thread on time because I’ve been very busy lately and so no time for Nairaland. I read through and saw this comment. I want to commend you first of all for taking your time out to create this thread to make a public declaration of your faith. Romans 10:14
Although you’re not yet a JW, you seem to be working towards it. But one thing you should know is that it is a public thread and so many opinions would be shared on here. You can pick the comments to reply to and ignore the rest. Because as long as you’ve sided with the truth, opposition will come from all angles. Satan and his henchmen will try to dissuade any one who has interest in truth(Revelation 12:17). Just keep on making the truth you’re own. You won’t regret it.

Maybe you should do research on how Trinity doctrine was established first. They said God was Duo like Jesus and God the Father only at first but later added the holy spirit. Here is one reasoning; check the verses in the New testament where the word "God" is used e.g John 3:16 "for 'God' so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son...", Who does the word God in the verse refer to, the Trinity or God the Father? Hebrews 1:1-2 [1]Long ago "God" spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. [2]And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. "God" promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. The "God" in these verses refers to the Trinity or God the Father only? Try many other verses. Please be open minded. I know it sounds stupid but trust me pls. There's another thing I want you to do, and it will either expose me or the JW generally as a liar or the Trinity as false doctrine. It's about Revelation 1:8. Ask your mom to help you with the verse since she's a lecturer. Let her study from verse one to eight using different and reliable versions of the Bible in simpler English (she can get it online). Then ask her this question; who is verse 8 referring to Jesus or GOD the Father? It might sound stupid but it's worth it. Follow your heart sis. Rosement: You are so ignorant, yet you always want to contribute. If you are not ignorant, you would have understood that he used his present study to boost his CV. He will not even become a professor by only doing PhD without working in the university, he can only become a Dr by doing that not a Prof. Do you think being a professor is child play? It is after he has being a Dr, lectured for years and published several journals that is he will become a Prof.
