I don't care since God said they are free to eat after draining. You can say whatever you want to say.

Funny enough you can't do without eating blood from animals you killed. So if eating or drinking of blood is the way you interpreted it then, you're not obeying that law.

. If animal's blood could be so important to God, how much more a person's blood.

Leviticus 17:10-12,14
[10]“And if any native Israelite or foreigner living among you eats or drinks blood in any form, I will turn against that person and cut him off from the community of your people,

[11]for the life of the body is in its blood. I have given you the blood on the altar to purify you, making you right with the lord. It is the blood, given in exchange for a life, that makes purification possible.

[12]That is why I have said to the people of Israel, ‘You must never eat or drink blood—neither you nor the foreigners living among you.’
[14]The life of every creature is in its blood. That is why I have said to the people of Israel, ‘You must never eat or drink blood, for the life of any creature is in its blood.’ So whoever consumes blood will be cut off from the community.

Abi humans are not creatures?
Verse 11 no show you say blood sacred?

Emusan:
Acts 15:28-29 never limited the blood to ONLY PERSON'S BLOOD but since you know you can't do without eating blood from animals you have to add "PERSON'S BLOOD"

Oh no wahala na. But why don't you support your interpretation of John 1:1 with the Bible itself? If you have something to offer I'm ready to learn.
1 Corinthians 8:6 NLV
[6]But for us,
There is one God, the Father
,
by whom all things were created,
and for whom we live.
And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ,
through whom all things were created,
and through whom we live.

Why did Paul say here that "there's one God, the Father"?

Rosement:
You believe I am wrong, I believe you are wrong. Life is not hard, everybody has a right to their beliefs. So let's hold on to our beliefs because we cannot force each other. Instead of trying to change other's belief or forcing them to agree that you are the best, preach, so that those that agree with your views will accept it.

Why did the Bible say καὶ Θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος and not και θεός ήταν ο λόγος.
καὶ Θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος (or) kaí Theós ín o lógos - means And God was the word.
και θεός ήταν ο λόγος (or) kai theós ítan o lógos - means And a god was the word.

A determiner is a member of a class of words used to modify nouns or noun equivalents. Determiners help clarify what a noun is referring to and are typically placed before descriptive adjectives.

This is simple Greek and English translation, there is no twist to it, so assumptions are not needed. John 1:1 is lacking a determiner because a determiner is not needed to qualify the true God of Heaven but in 2 Corinthians 4:4, there is a determiner explaining that satan is only the god of this world and not of Heaven. If you want to talk about President Buhari to a stranger in Nigeria, you can just say the president without using a determiner but if you are talking about another president, in order not to mislead the stranger it is compulsory for you to use a determiner to specific.

The Bible cannot mislead us and it is very explainatory. There is no verse in the Bible were satan or any other small god was mentioned as a god singularly without using a determiner, such mistakes did not occur in the Bible. If you are not trying to backup your claims you would have understood this immediately.

This is my own view of the Bible, you don't have to accept mine because I have no right over you, in the same way you have no right over me and I don't have to accept your views also. For peace to reign, let's not try to understand each other.

You are appointed as the GB of JWs on nairaland cheesy cheesy

MaxInDHouse:
They came again to Jerusalem. And as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came and said to him: “By what authority do you do these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?” Jesus said to them: “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. Was the baptism by John from heaven or from men? Answer me.” So they began to reason among themselves, saying: “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why, then, did you not believe him?’ But dare we say, ‘From men’?” They were in fear of the crowd, for these all held that John had really been a prophet. So they answered Jesus: “We do not know.” Jesus said to them: “Neither am I telling you by what authority I do these things" Mark 11:27-33

Questions may raise questions so if truthfully the one who asked first is sincere then there's no reason for hide and seek.
There are thousands of sects claiming worshipers of God so if someone singled out one to be questioned then an intelligent observer will ask "do you know a better performing group?"
If you people will not attempt the simple question then there's no need asking JWs five or ten questions! grin

I hope you know that the Greek word "theos" could either be "God" or "god". The point is theos is used for Jehovah and also used for small gods even Satan. Why can't it be use for Jesus?

2 Corinthians 4:4 NLV
[4]Satan, who is the god (theos) of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God (theos).

You should see that capitalization was added when referring to God to show He's a greater God. It was also added when referring to Jesus to show his divinity not his equality with God Almighty.

From every angle, the Bible shows that YHWH God is far more greater than Jesus His son.

Exodus 7:1, KJV says "and God made Moses a god unto Pharaoh" while NKJV says "and God made Moses a God onto Pharaoh".
Why?

It's also obvious from the bible that the early church were in perfect harmony believing in one God the Father, they didn't believe in the Trinity nor were they inspired by the holy spirit to establish the doctrine.

1 Corinthians 8:6 NLV
[6]But for us,
There is one God, the Father,

by whom all things were created,
    and for whom we live.
And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ,
through whom all things were created,
    and through whom we live.

Ephesians 4:6 NLV
[6]one God and Father of all,
who is over all, in all, and living through all.

Trinity was established by the apostolic fathers after the death of the early apostles. The doctrines was established base on argument and debates in the Nicene council and the subsequent councils. Some were even killed why some were banished.
It's crystal clear they weren't led by the holy spirit.

The seed has been sown sister Rose smiley shalom!

The New Testament was majorly written in Greek. Reading online articles or dwelling on what you are told will not help, try to go on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem and you will find out a lot of new things. There is a difference between Theós (God) and énas Theós (a god).

John 1:1 NLV
[1]In the beginning the Word already existed.
    The Word was with God,
    and the Word was God.

"The Word was with God"
The word is Jesus and he was with God YHWH

"..and the Word was God."
Here is where the confusion lies. Since an indefinite or definite article is not put before the God, it makes the verse hard to understand.

Let me try to put the articles in the phrase:
"..and the word was the God"
This would have proved Jesus to be the God he was initially with, which will contradict Trinity doctrine that says Jesus and God are distinct persons working as one God. Adding article "the" makes the verse invalid.

"..and the word was a God.."
Article"a" would make the sentence more meaning and logical. That is; Jesus was in the beginning with God and Jesus was a God.
Amen smiley

I didn't quote from NWT, i quoted from NLV and KJV and NKJV.
I didn't intend to argue too but have a fruitful discussion.
It's clear that my points are scriptural. I didn't quote no Russell's word.

Even if you hold to your believe, i want to drop the idea that JWs are worshiping Satan or they aren't christians and all that.

Jesus taught his followers to worship the Father (not Trinity) in spirit and truth.
Jesus said his kingdom is not of this world and didn't engage in politics. That's what the JWs do today. They don't join the military too.

It's obvious that they strictly follow Christ teachings and are not anti-christian.
Also they have the purest form of worship.
They don't use images in their worship like some churches do. God warned against using images and all that.

"Hear O Israel the lord your God is one!".
God almighty is not three persons but one person, men doctrines would make you think so.

The Bible aslo teaches that Jesus will return his rulership back to God the Father and Jesus will be subjected to God's rule. God the Father will be all in all. 1 Corinthians 15:24-28
Perhaps you didn't notice that no one knew Jesus untill he came to earth and the Israelites didn't worship Trinity Gods but one singular God YHWH.
Also God made Jesus everything he is. He gave him everything he has, the kingdom, name power, authority et al. He empowered Jesus for a purpose, to fulfill His will for the earth.

JWs believe that Jesus is a God but not just the Almighty GOD his Father.

Acts of the Apostles 2:36
[36]“So let everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, to be both Lord and Messiah!”

Peace be onto you smiley

Rosement:
I don't accept Russell's version of the Bible and I don't believe his words either. Let just accept that we are both right. I am really not interested in arguing, believe whatever you want to believe, l will continue to hold on to my belief. If I am on the wrong path, Jesus will not even answer me when I address Him as God. I have got a lot of personal experience and the Holy Spirit has been working through me. Thanks again for your concern.

As I made clear to you what is declared in Hebrew 10 vs 9 - 15 cannot coexist with Jesus Christ's own decree in Matthew 5 vs 17 - 19 - the messages contradict each other. And since my trust is in Jesus Christ, every doctrine and tradition which stands in contradiction to His Word, I reject. undecided

But it seems you would rather believe that which is written in Hebrews 10 vs 9 - 15 over that which Jesus Christ proclaimed, yet you avoid the questions that arise as a result of your belief. Why? undecided

You didn't accept the book of Hebrews, what book of the NT do you accept then?

Kobojunkie:
Part of God's word, you say? But God's Word, we are told in scripture, refers to the Word out of God's Mouth and Jesus Christ is He. Your Bible is simply a collection of writings which document God's Word, the words of Satan, demons as devils along with the Opinion of men. undecided

1. The book of Hebrews may be a book in your Bible, but I believe the author's work is meant instead as an opinion piece written of God. When God’s law of 2/3 witnesses, which requires that that every truth revealed through men to be established there must be at least 2 or 3 witnesses to same truth, is applied to what is written in it, we find that much of what is stated by the author is not backed by any witnesses in scripture. Instead a good portion of the author's ideas stands in contradiction with the Word of God Himself. undecided

2. The Old Covenant Law/standard never gave to the High Priests, who were men drawn from the tribe of Levi, power to cancel the Law nor render it obsolete and this Law was God's agreement with the people of Israel. undecided

Jesus Christ came as a Jew and He lived His life in complete submission to and obedience of the Old Covenant Law of Moses, in much the same way as any man would. He fulfilled the requirements of the Law as God required men to, and this by living without sin (holy), a righteous existence, and going to his death a righteous man. undecided

In the future, the very same Jesus Christ will again return to fulfill God's end of the Old Covenant bargain when He will raise the Old Covenant righteous from the grave and grant then the promise of a long life in the land of Canaan. But so far, this part of the fulfillment is still to come. undecided

You claim Jesus Christ is greater than the Levites and I ask again by the Old Covenant Standard set by God Himself, how is Jesus Christ greater than the Levites and the other Jews? Why set Him up for us as a High Priest, a title that belongs to the Levites? undecided

3. Recall that Jesus Christ said, again, He did not come to abolish the Old Covenant but to fulfill it.

Where in the Old Covenant promise of a New Covenant tells us that the Messiah would cancel the Old Covenant, and explains this "once and for all" of yours? undecided

Here's a clue! Stop regurgitating what you have swallowed from what you have read of only in the book of Hebrews, and instead find out where else in scripture the claims made are also to be found. undecided

4. None of what I have said so far is of the doctrines and traditions of men. If you think it to be, be sure to point to it. undecided

Na your problem be that.

Kobojunkie:
The verse above does not answer the question unless you are suggesting that God, in His Old Covenant, somewhere suggested that by using a High Priest, He would render obsolete the Old Law, in that case, I ask that you present this scriptural evidence for us to see. undecided

Jesus Christ was not of the tribe of Levi and so could not have been among the Old Covenant High Priests, this as set by God Himself! undecided

So again...1a. First, do you at least see how Hebrews 10 vs 9 - 10 and Matthew 5 vs 17 - 19 since one contradicts the other? undecided

1b. Look, call it what yo want but the fact is the Old Covenant is an eternal Covenant/Contract between God and the children of Israel,. Meaning the only two signers to this Covenant/agreement/Contract are God and the Jews, and hence the only ones who can fulfill said Covenant are , you guessed it, God and the children of Israel - no third-parties! undecided

And as Jesus Christ told you there in Matthew 5 vs 17 - 19, He did not come to do away with the Law but to fulfill it. undecided

So, the question to answer is this, did Jesus Christ come as God to fulfill the Law or did He come as a man/Jew to fulfill that Covenant, much like other Jews would. undecided

2. God never promised the Israelites He would do away with the Old Covenant when the New Covenant arrived - both Contracts are everlasting and so remain binding to this day - every jew born into into world even today is born bound to the Old Covenant. undecided

And at that, all Jews who become of Jesus Christ retain their claim to the promise of the Old Covenant in the New Covenant - Yes, they still have claim to the long life in the land of Canaan promised by God to them in the Old Covenant. Ofcourse Gentiles in the New Covenant do not have such a promise to lay claim to.. undecided
