Lol
The twelve apostles were Jews. The early church in Jerusalem were mainly Jews. The Jews and pharisees continue in the old covenant cos of unbelief.
The old covenant is obsolete

Hebrews 10:9,12
[9]Then he said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect.
[12]But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

Kobojunkie:
1. Look, call it what yo want but the fact is the Old Covenant is an eternal Covenant/Contract between God and the children of Israel,. Meaning the only two signers to this Covenant/agreement/Contract are God and the Jews, and hence the only ones who can fulfill said Covenant are , you guessed it, God and the children of Israel - no third-parties! undecided

And as Jesus Christ told you there in Matthew 5 vs 17 - 19, He did not come to do away with the Law but to fulfill it. undecided

So, the question to answer is this, did Jesus Christ come as God to fulfill the Law or did He come as a man/Jew to fulfill that Covenant, much like other Jews would. undecided

2. God never promised the Israelites He would do away with the Old Covenant when the New Covenant arrived - both Contracts are everlasting and so remain binding to this day - every jew born into into world even today is born bound to the Old Covenant. undecided

And at that, all Jews who become of Jesus Christ retain their claim to the promise of the Old Covenant in the New Covenant - Yes, they still have claim to the long life in the land of Canaan promised by God to them in the Old Covenant. Ofcourse Gentiles in the New Covenant do not have such a promise to lay claim to.. undecided

In that case a lot of things are false. Science itself is a scam. There is nothing wrong in adjusting your view about something especially when you now have a clearer understanding about something. You expect imperfect humans to be able to explain the meaning of every prophecies from the Bible at a go without any need for adjustment? Jesus even needed to adjust his followers views while he was with them. If you think that is enough reason for you to term their doctrine as false, then good luck finding the perfect one bro

Matthew 5:17-18
[17]“Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.
[18]I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.

The faulty old covenant served it purpose and was replaced by perfect New covenant brought by Jesus. Hence Jesus fufilled the law cos God promised the Israelites a new covenant.

Kobojunkie:
So essentially, you believe Jesus Christ lied when He decreed in Matthew 5 vs 17 - 20 that He did not come to do away with the Old Law?undecided

Rosement:
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
°First, GOD called humans gods.
John 10:33-36
[33]They replied, “We’re stoning you not for any good work, but for blasphemy! You, a mere man, claim to be God.”
[34]Jesus replied, “It is written in your own Scriptures that God said to certain leaders of the people, ‘I say, you are gods!’
[35]And you know that the Scriptures cannot be altered. So if those people who received God’s message were called ‘gods,’
[36]why do you call it blasphemy when I say, ‘I am the Son of God'? After all, the Father set me apart and sent me into the world.
°Second, God made Moses a 'God' unto Pharaoh
Exodus 7:1
New King James Version
So the LORD said to Moses: "See, I have made you as God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.

KJV
And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet

*The early Bible manuscripts/ versions didn't have capitalization. Let say the verse was like this then; "in the beginning was the word, and the word was with god, and the word was god".....did capitalization change the meaning of the verse? No!

If you really want to understand the word "God" in Hebrew perspective, check out this link; https://www.ancient-hebrew.org/god-yhwh/hebrew-word-for-god.htm

Hebrews 10:9-10
[9]Then he said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect.
[10]For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.

I shouldn't respond but go and be chewing those Hebrew verses

Kobojunkie:
The New Covenant does no such thing as you claim. Jesus Christ told you this Himself in Matthew 5 vs 17 - 20. The Old Covenant Law of Moses is as strong today as it was the day Moses ratified it in Deuteronomy 30 vs 15 - 20 since it is an eternal Covenant. undecided

Why do you have a hard time believing what Jesus Christ teaches you? undecided
Christianity Etc › Re: Are Jehovah Witnesses Right About Their Belief Against Blood Transfusion? by cornelboy(op): 3:36pm On Jan 24, 2022
You mean the new covenant is useless cos it is a lie and renders the old covenant useless?

Stop beating about! undecided

I already explained that every doctrine that undergoes change - rendering the former obsolete or of no value- amounts to a lie and since every doctrine and tradition of your church remains fluid, they are all of them lies. undecided

We are good bro. I was really sincerely with what i said but it's calm. I hope we have a better discussion in the future.

Just because we don't believe the same thing doest mean you should go the way of maxindhouse.
In all my argument with you, I have been honest. I have depended entirely on what was written in the bible. And I even offered to stop communication if you are uncomfortable.
When your brother MaxInDHouse indicated he is uncomfortable with our communication, I stopped. Till today, he quoting me but I have remained true to me words. Whenever I see his comments to me, I try not to read them so not to get tempted to break my words.

Christianity Etc › Re: Confusion! Is God A Mystery Or Trinity Is False Doctrine?? by cornelboy(f): 9:34am On Jan 24, 2022
Wow this enlightening! smiley smiley

MaxInDHouse:
The Trinity doctrine is from Satan the devil!
The pagan Roman Catholic Church built there teachings around many false doctrines in which TRINITY is number one.
How do you know when a doctrine is demonic? Well it's simple: such a doctrine will never give you a clear understanding so when the adherents are asked thought provoking questions regarding the doctrine they will end up saying "it's a mystery"

Just ask a trinitarian about his/her god he/she will tell you "God the father, God the son and God the Holy Ghost are/is IMMORTAL"
Doesn't that sound as if the trinitarian has gotten something to hold onto?
But ask this same person about humans and judgment, then the trinitarian will tell you that the human soul/spirit is also IMMORTAL! huh
Then you'll begin to wonder: if that's the case what superiority does the true God have over His creatures if everyone is IMMORTAL? cheesy

MaxInDHouse tctrills:
As a reward for their faithfulness, Christ’s anointed brothers (BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS) become kings and priests with him in heaven. (Rev. 20:6) All those who make up the heavenly part of God’s family (JEHOVAH, Jesus and the angels) will be eager to see the 144,000 anointed ones receive their heavenly reward. After telling about these 144,000 kings and priests, the apostle John sees something exciting, “a great crowd” who survive Armageddon. Unlike the first group, this second group is much larger and has no fixed number. (Rev. 7:9, 10) They are “dressed in white robes,” indicating that they have kept themselves “without spot” from Satan’s world and have remained loyal to God and Christ. (Jas. 1:27) They cry out that they have been saved because of what Jehovah and Jesus, the Lamb of God, have done. All the while, they are holding palm branches, which shows that they joyfully acknowledge Jesus as Jehovah’s appointed King.—Compare John 12:12, 13.

This tctrills is a liar who detests what the Bible teaches.
The other time he said he's just hear to catch fun but he supports anyone speaking against God's organized worshipers saying the doctrine is silly:

And if you ask him about his own Church he will quickly dismiss the question. He ran away from me when i confronted him that the INJECTION of truth has caught up with his deceptive heart so he will continue to hunt JWs as if he has a special interest in God's word but just like Satan the devil who always behave like a snake never read to declare his intentions. smiley
Thanks for shedding more light Sir!

What did the bible say or reveal about those that will be in heaven?

tctrills:
You shouldn't believe more or less. You should only believe what the Bible says. That these men where with Jesus in Mount Zion singing. Every other thing is an addition.

If you believe only what the Bible says then we can't be having this argument because the bible didn't say it they are the only ones in heaven or not. The Bible did nothe even suggest it in any way.
Christianity Etc › Re: Are Jehovah Witnesses Right About Their Belief Against Blood Transfusion? by cornelboy(op): 3:07am On Jan 24, 2022
tctrills:
We can both agree that no verse said anything about it. No verse said they would be the only ones or not. If we agree on this at least we have some progress
Yes I agree that no verse explicitly say that only the 144000 are in heaven. But they are the only ones recorded that we see in the bible to be in heaven. And it's for a purpose.
Christianity Etc › Re: Are Jehovah Witnesses Right About Their Belief Against Blood Transfusion? by cornelboy(op): 3:00am On Jan 24, 2022
That's it! Don't say and ask questions bout what you don't want to know or the bible didn't talk about.
It's clear. Jesus said those that will inherit the kingdom must be born and he also said the patriarchs and the prophets will be seen there. Are they born again i.e baptized by the holy spirit? But God still made it possible.
He also said the pure in heart will see God, the persecuted for doing right will inherit the kingdom, the poor in spirit too will inherit the kingdom etc. The book of revelation that reveals events that will happen in the future says those that are or will be in the kingdom are 144k. What else do we need?

tctrills:
I don't know why there would be a need. I don't know things that have not been revealed. I only quoted
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

What has been revealed is enough for me

Which other place in the bible or revelation mention that they are not the only ones?
The 144000 are chosen from all the saints all over the world. It could be you.

tctrills:
If you can point me to any verse in the bible and tell me that honestly from your heart, you believe that verse is saying that only these 144000 would make heaven, I would drop my case. I may not believe you but at least i would know you are being honest.

Christianity Etc › Re: Are Jehovah Witnesses Right About Their Belief Against Blood Transfusion? by cornelboy(op): 2:38am On Jan 24, 2022
The new Jerusalem will come to earth and God will live with his people.
The will of God for earth would have been fufilled.
Why is there's need for people to go to heaven again? Or don't you know earth was created as home for man in the beginning?

tctrills:
The city comes out of heaven to where? And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Is it not to earth?
So are we not saying the same thing? Christ would reign on earth. and the 144000 would follow him everywhere he goes. That's all the scripture says about them.
It did not say only them would be in heaven. Oh am I wrong?
Christianity Etc › Re: Are Jehovah Witnesses Right About Their Belief Against Blood Transfusion? by cornelboy(op): 2:29am On Jan 24, 2022
tctrills:
But they won't go to heaven but live on earth forever! How do you know that these won't go to heaven. Christ would rule over both heaven and earth. Is it written that those on earth cant go to heaven?
Christ himself will be subjected to God. He will give the rule back to GOD his Father.
God will rule everything himself. That's why we warn that Trinity is a false doctrine. Our worship should be purely to God the Father of all. 1 Corinthians 15:24-28.
The Truth is one no matter what.
