Thank you very much, God bless you. Are you saying I can retrieve the DS160 I have submitted? I feel if should try to log in with the DS 160 code, it will tell me the form has been submitted, please elucidate on this, is it the appointment site I will visit to make this changes, please help interview is wednesday.
How do I retrieve the old form? I would want to edit just that part to Yes because filling a new one is time consuming, is this possible? I look forward to your prompt reply.
On the DS160 application website, use the RETRIEVE APPLICATION menu.

You'll be asked for the first five letters of your surname, year of birth and security question.
The select "create new application".

Please I need help, after filling a new DS160 and answered NO to the question asking if I have been denied a Visa or turned back at the point of entry after my last delayed interview, I have also booked an appointment with the new DS160 confirmation code. However, someone on this platform raised a concern about it that I ought to have filled YES since I was denied. I would like to know if this will likely be an issue during interview or is it possible to fill a new one after submission? If possible I hope the processing will reflect before my interview coming up this week; I wouldn't want to pay another 64k if everything should go awry or should I go to the interview with that hoping to explain to them that I had already submitted the form before noticing the mistake?
Any person with a kind heart should help me with a mock interview because I wouldn't want to be delayed the second time; I never knew this interview would be another challenging encounter after all the GRE and multiple applications to gain admission. Fortunately, the school has sent me a new I-20 still with a master's but with a remark that I have been admitted into Msc/PhD which is contigent upon completion of the Msc. This PhD which will commence 2019/2020 comes with tuition waiver/24000$ stipends.
And again I hope this will not raise a concern due to the issue date of the new admission letter and I-20 form, that it is an afterthought, u people know these people are not looking for reasons to grant u but 1 reason not to grant you. I know my father in heaven is in control. I am appealing to any kind hearted fellow to review my likely answers to the likely interview questions via a mock interview, I pray the almighty God will meet you at every point of your needs.....
Answering "No" implies you're being economical with the truth. These guys have zero tolerance for lies, deceits, misrepresentation etc. You're toying with a ten (10) year ban.

You should immediately fill a new form and update your profile in the appointment portal with the new barcode generated. To make it faster, simply retrieve the old form, click on create a new application and correct your mistake(s) before submitting.

Hi what are the chances of being approved for F1 if you apply less than a month to classes start?
All things being equal, your passport booklet (with visa) should be ready for collection within 3 - 5 business days after visa approval. A month is good enough.

Hello
I so much appreciate all your good efforts on here and I pray that the good lord bless you all. am a new follower, I have an interview coming up soon though I have once appeared before the VO early this year ie April based on invitation package B1/B2 visa but now I intend going for my F1/F2 ie study visa, MBA with concentration on Technology Management to gain employability and improve my career goals, I work with a construction company as an assistant project manage. the truth is I keep getting scared of getting another No for an answer, please can someone advice me and also share with me the possible questions that are likely to be asked. If possible I need a mock interview from a good fellow here please. Because during my last interview, I got all the questions but he asked if I am married, the answer was No and I feel because of that he refused to give me Visa. And now am to go again hope it's not going to be a problem I mean the family ties stuff?

Also I want to use my inlaw as my sponsor this time around and he has a good sum in his treasury bill account which the dividend would mature by September. Still a good sum too. but during my last conversation with the VO , I made mention to him that I am the one sponsoring my first trip, Isn't that going to raise an issue? Please I need response soon. Thanks
You're married and your in-law is to sponsor you for a postgraduate program. Hmmnn, e get as he bi.

Anyway, to assess the financial capability of your in-law in sponsoring your education, it's not about having a fixed sum in deposit but his strings of income.

please friends, I need your advise. My 2013 DV lottery visa was denied on the ground that I used my country of residence (Gabon) as the foreign state of chargerbility. My visa fee was refunded after going through the interview and taking the finger print.

I intend to attend a conference soonest which the organizer will send me an invitation letter and a guarantee letter to take care of all my stay in the US. Please my questions is as follow:

(1) should I fill the DS-160 form that I have a relation in the US? Because the 2013 DV lottery form has a name of my relation.

(2). I have a stable business and how much should I fill as my monthly earning?

(3) what documents should I include in my file since am a business man
Truth is constant. State true and correct information which are verifiable.

Hi everyone and a happy Sunday,
I'm grateful for all the advise that I've gotten here through the years. I have travelled to the U.S and just got back about a month ago. It was my first visit and I stayed only 3 weeks (even though I was stamped for 6 months to stay). Now I'll like to travel again in 3 months time for a visit.
My question is my visa is for multiple entries (b1/b2). Can I travel as often as I want for the duration of the visa? By the time I travel again it would have been 4 months since my last trip. Is 4 months too early to travel back again. Will that be a problem at the POE? My last travel was for a conference but now I want to go for leisure for 2 weeks. I have my own business here at home and i think I deserve some break to rest for 2 weeks to clear my head. Seyewest & Co over to you all. I applied for and got my visa through advise her (with prayers too), and entered first time through advise from here too so I eagerly await your response on this. Thanks
B1/B2 visas are normally issued for multiple entries, check your visa to confirm "M" is stated under "Entry".

Four months interval is not short to travel again if you can withstand the long travel time and fund it, without recourse to work in US. However, do not lose sight of the fact that you also need to do more business at home, so as to be able to fund further trips.

As a business person, do not only make your trip a pleasure one, you can use the opportunity to look for things you can buy cheaply during trip and sell here. The dollar shops are usually of interests to people doing buying and selling.

Thanks for this, her dad just agree to sponsor her but how will I send her invitation letter? Is there anything special about it?
Good that her Dad agreed to sponsor which I think is the right thing to do in this case. There is no standard for letter of invitation, it can be an email or handwritten, typed just to say you're inviting someone for ... bla....bla. However, this letter wouldn't add any value to her visa application but no harm in holding it. What is important is her ability to demonstrate that her Dad would be able to sponsor her for the trip conveniently, and hope that your friend's PG studentship would be factored in when viewing her strong ties. I wish her best of luck.

please friends, I need your advise. Am a young man ,single, graduate from unilag, served in kaduna 2014. one of my uncles (diff surnames though) wants to invite me to the states by Nov/Dec. what do you guys think? thank you
cosade:
It doesn't matter who invites you, you're the one that would be interviewed and assessed on your merit. VOs don't look at letters of invitation, the most important thing is for you to be able to establish that you have strong ties to your home country/or country of residence.
ogbuzulu:
Pls kindly throw more light on the. term 'strong ties" with regard to my post. thanks
"Strong ties" is difficult to explain but I go try sha. Firstly you should know that the impression of VOs is that the visa applicant being interviewed has the intention to migrate. Meaning that he wouldn't come back to his home country when on non-immigrant visa (NIV) to US. That is the assumption whether justifiable or not.

It is now the duty of the visa applicant to demonstrate that he'll return to Nigeria after his short visit. So it is usually assumed that if the applicant has strong ties to his country, there shouldn't be any reason for him not to come back home after his short visit. Though not true in all cases but that is the assumption.

Assessment of strong ties can very subjective but commonsensical. You'll agree with me that someone with a very good job in Nigeria would not want to abandon his work for a life in US, which he's unsure of. As against someone without a good job or none at all, so such a person has nothing to lose by not coming back to Nigeria after his short visit.

This is when good travel history could be advantageous but not a guarantee. At least someone that has been traveling to other countries and did not violate his visa condition may not likely to do so in this instance. Again, it is an assumption.

Back to your case, you're a graduate probably unemployed. From your post, the strongest strength stated is your Uncle in US who wants to invite you. Unfortunately, the VOs doesn't see this as a strength rather they want to assess you on your own individual merit.

I hope I was able to make some sense.

I hail you all, i went for my Interview in Lagos today which was by 8:45am and was interviewed by a young lady in window 1 i was denied below is my Transcript

Me: good morning
VO: your passport please
Me: I passed it to her
VO: where are you going to
Me: San Antonio
VO: why
Me: i hope to attend .... i mentioned the name of the conference, the organizer and people it is for, but she cuts me short
VO: Have you traveled out of Nigeria before
Me: Yes to Ghana and Dubai
VO: where do you work
Me: I told her where i work, my position and started telling her my duties then she cuts me short
VO: Are you married
Me: Yes
VO: do you have children
Me: I have a child
VO: Sorry ....You can reapply
Me: Thank you

All these communication was within 1min, and she has been dishing out blue paper to those before me that made the person behind me had to excuse herself that she wants to use the toilet and went and stand to be interviewed in another window, No white paper on her table only blue

The thing is that i really want to attend the conference as that is the only conference organized for people in my field of work which will really help me as individual and my organization at large, though the conference is in November my company will be paying for it " though i can also afford it" Please i need your suggestion if i should reapply or will it look as if i am desperate
You said your company would be sponsoring you for the conference but this didn't come out clearly in your response to the VO's question when she asked.

Your script:

Me: i hope to attend .... i mentioned the name of the conference, the organizer and people it is for, but she cuts me short (here you should have emphasised that your company is sponsoring you)
VO: Have you traveled out of Nigeria before
Me: Yes to Ghana and Dubai
VO: where do you work
Me: I told her where i work, my position and started telling her my duties then she cuts me short (if where you work is not a well known company/organisation, you should quickly add some catchy info like it's annual turnover if it runs into billions etc.)

On whether you should reapply or not, my suggestion is that you should not. Look for similar conference/workshop in Europe/South Africa and attend, then next year you may want to reapply if you so desire.

The moment you have the feeling you're being delayed unjustly, tell them so and let them know if you're delayed further you'll lodge complaint with the "appropriate authority". I have relations as young as 16 that have travelled unaccompanied out of MMIA without any harassment because I have tutored them on what to do from the time they leave home till they get to their final destination.

Your invitation letter would not add any value to her visa application, equally the graduate ID serve no purpose here. My suggestion is that you should allow her parent to sponsor her for the visa application.

lol. Here we go again.

First of all, I have listened to this argument on Homosexuals adopting kids. I even had this debate as recently as 2 months ago with a Catholic Priest in neighbouring Benin Republic who put it up as one of the reasons he is anti-gays and we had a really interesting discussion on it.

You say adopting kids is now the problem. We live in a society where Abortion is criminalized which has lead to a high amount of uncatered children in our streets and orphanages. The Government has not finished taking care of it's high priority responsibilities so Orphans fall to the very bottom of their list of things to be done. Alot of us are also way too bjsy in our lives that we only have the time maybe once a year to go drop a few bags of rice in an orphanage somewhere and thats about it. Then you have a lot of highly underfunded and unregulated orphanages which research has shown abuse a lot of the kids under their care. Then your problem is a child adopted by a gay couple into a home, cared for, loved and provided for. Don't you think there is a problem with our general reasoning on this issue?

What do you think a child raised in an orphanage with no parental care and or love is going to grow to become? Or the numerous street kids who grow up and live on the streets with nothing. How much damage do those kids incure compared to kids raised in a homosexual home with all the things normal kids get except for having two parents of identical sex? Do you have a study on this? Have you met children raised in homosexual families? What is maladjusted about them? grin I have seen a documentary on a gay couple who have adopted 4 Kids (one of who is a special needs child) and they had to move to a ranch just to be able to provide that one special needs child with animals to help in his therapy. I doubt my parents would have done such for even me. grin

I like many straight people am perplexed by why any person will be sexually attracted to people of the same sex or why a person born to one sex will be so unhappy they undergo extensive reconstruction surgeries to identify with the opposite sex. I very honestly don't get it. However just because I don't understand something does not make it enough reason to hate it to the level of criminalizing it especially when there is nothing criminal about it.

If a child has been abandoned by its parents for whatever reason, and there is no research showing any clear cut danger of that child being "ruined", then please let them adopt as every child at least deserves the chance to be loved and cared for. It will be nothing but selfish for you who was raised in a family to deny another child a chance of being raised in one.

In my discussion with that Priest, I asked him if he was aware of the abuse those kids suffer in the hands of their caregivers in those orphanages and at the hands of Preists. I asked if be was also aware that those orphaned kids are the most vulnerable in our society and the success rate of children raised in orphanages are very very very low to which he just kept mumbling some gibberish but still stuck to his flawed logic based on no research whatsoever but his religious ways.

So Bro, don't let our fear of things we don't fully understand make us take measures that are even more cruel than that which we fear and hate.
masonkz:
How about you first do a research on kids raised by gay parents before coming to this conclusion??
What does the scholarly research say about the wellbeing of children with gay or lesbian parents?

Overview: We identified 79 scholarly studies that met our criteria for adding to knowledge about the wellbeing of children with gay or lesbian parents. Of those studies, 75 concluded that children of gay or lesbian parents fare no worse than other children.

The Government needs to leave these homosexuals alone. They are not a problem to anyone.

Call me Gay if you like, but all I see in those photos are young men heading to jail for absolutely nothing other than being different from the rest of us you.. They were not raping anybody. They were not even on the streets trying to convert anyone to homosexuality. They were just in a hotel having sex with other homosexuals. Inside a closed room.

I'm sorry but this shiit does not move. If Homosexuality is a Sin against God then let God judge them. This is just some bullshit.

Give me light, good roads, healthcare, fix the fhucking economy, provide security, create jobs for the jobless, provide proper sanitation, curb corruption, fix the fhucking useless and thieving legislature, give every Nigerian equal access to justice, fix election malpractices, cut inflation, take care of the needy on our streets, invest in our education sector, half the fhucking country was submerged in water from rainfall this year And they are acting like it didn't happen, all the thieves in the legislature are straight not homosexuals, No Governor thieving their state dry is a homosexual e.t.c.. But these fhaggots are not even on the top 100 problems with this fhucking nation. Two Niggas fhucking should not be a criminal offence especially if both them niggas agree they love each other and want to fhuck.

I am not saying anyone should like them. Honestly if a Nigga touches me inappropriately, he is getting his lights turned off.. But just because I don't like Homos does not mean they should be jailed.

So yeah call me Gay, tell me I am going to hell in a Coaster bus grin. I don't care.. But I will never support this type of foolishness. This is equivalent to jailing a person for being left handed.

Nuff said ..

Also legalise weed before like tobacco, Africa will be on the back foot to the rest of the world.

so cos we do worst behind close doors we shouldn't judge....
we should pray for who
they went to single schools who didn't
I attended Nigerian navy secondary school Abeokuta.... it was an only boys school
why didn't I turn out gay...
some were abused ....this I can believe
they don't disturb the peace of the nation ....can you hear yourself... look a nation is built by family system...not by being nice ....once homosexual begins to rare it head....it means the family structure is in trouble...so yes they are a threat.
besides I once worked in a gay club in London
and these guys if allowed to breed will compete for straight guys with all means possible....
so while trying to sound nice....homosexuality is bad for any society that wants to grow
Maybe some of us wouldn't have been bothered like he said, but when I remember that they are allowed to adopt children in countries where LGBT societies are recognized, then I think the society should be bothered. Children adopted by such people are ruined already because they would become maladjusted. This is a grave act of wickedness. The law should not allow them to have right of adoption since they have chosen to disobey natural procreation order.

I guess it's because of your financial status. You already stated your income in your visa form and is one of the critical factor in deciding your visa application. Your Dad's occupation shouldn't be on the form if he's not sponsoring your trip so I don't know why that came up.

Do one need to present hotel reservation booking to the VO? Want to find out if they typically get to ask for the reservations made ahead of the trip?
I suggest you do hotel reservation with free cancellation option.

I was asked only two questions for my first US visa:
VO: Tell me about your planned trip to US.
Self: Going for a week training programme in ...... sponsored by my employer.
VO: Can I see the evidence of your sponsorship?
Self: I presented my training approval.

VO: Pick your visa up on ........

In most cases the VOs don't ask for documents but when they do, it's good to have it with you. I advise you go with all the documents you think are relevant.
