And people hail him and call him a legend. they have celebrated him and carried series of concert on his behalf. but is it not foolishness to celebrate someone like this? What legacy did he leave for those looking up to him.....Is it to smoke gandi and wear pants everywhere in public? Rubbish!
Fela never wore pants in public, he wore pants only in his house.

Thanks for the reply, I have traveled and returned and I did applied after she had applied thrice and i was given. We don't have any intension of migrating.
If I were you, my family won't reapply for US visa. I'll rather spend my money elsewhere, there are so many other interesting countries you can go to for holiday.

When I was refused US visa, I did not bother to look at their side for 10 years. In that ten years, I traveled to Turin (Italy) for summer olympics, Hong Kong and Turkey for IFAC conferences, Israel and SA for tourism, UK and Ghana severally. Eventually, when I applied I did because my employers wanted me to go there for a training. I was issued with the visa with only two questions asked.

I reapplied two years ago but had to appear for interview because the last US visa expired more than two years. During the interview, I got pissed off with endless questions coming from the VO. At a point I told him that it wasn't compulsory for me to travel to USA since my ten years UK visa hasn't expired. At that point he calmed down and decided to issue me with the visa.

We should stop giving these guys the impression that we are desperate to spend our hard earned money in their country.

Thank you for your reply but Please get my point ;
My question is should i State what has change in my circumstances after 2year on the form? not change of visa plan. Please stick to the question don't try to analyze my Financial Status.
Sorry that I didn't tell you what you wanted to hear. I hope you know that the VO wouldn't apologise to you for asking to announce your salary in the presence of other visa applicants and still deny you.

Thanks for your response. Can being a currently serving youth corper be regarded as a strong tie to the country. I have someone who's currently serving but planning on Going for a two weeks vacation, please what are his chances??
It depends on the circumstances, let's take for example a foreign graduate who returned to Nigeria for youth service would have no reason to abandon the programme. Equally, same for a student that schooled in Nigeria and has spent his or her vacation(s) in Europe and North America before.

Else, I will say "No". I would need evidence that I can trust this person to return to Nigeria to complete his NYSC programme.

Hello all, good evening. For those who have travelled to canada on visit visas, how were you able to ship your foodstuffs (Palmoil,Garri, etc)? A friend of mine is going to Canada and USA on visit and needs a ''Genuine'' company who deals on shipping foodstuffs to enable them carry foodstuffs to the people hosting them while on visit. If you have any, kindly let me know. Thanks
I hope no one is falling for this old trick!

Please I have a valid US visa but want to go for vacation with my family, my wife had applied thrice (the 1st Lagos, 2nd in Abuja and third in Lagos with my two kids) but was denied. I don't know if I should applied first with my Two kids (5yr and 7yrs) first and she can later applied with my last born( 1yr).
Your wife and children applying thrice and changing locations imply your family is very desperate to migrate to USA, my opinion.
Why don't you do your own trip and return to Nigeria? Then following year, your wife and children can then reapply.

It is also important to be sure you can fund the trip with ease, my thumb rule is that the total cost of your vacation expenses should not be more than 15% of your annual income.

Please my people i need answer to this question.

If ask have you been denial US Visa before? And my answer is yes with the reason under section 214(b), my question is this should i includes the circumstances that have change? Because i am apply for the Second time first was for Vacation and i was denial 2 years ago and i my applying for religions conference.

Thanks
The reason for your travel is not as important as your ability to fund the trip. If you no significant improvement in your financials in the last two years then don't waste your time and money in reapplying.

Hello everyone.. I Have been a silent reader of this great forum... I had my interview on june 13 but was denied and I am planning to reapply again this August due to some circumstances... Here my transcript goes thus:

VO:good morning sir
Me:good morning (passed my passport)
VO:where are you going in the states
Me:I am going to Chicago by June 30 to visit my cousin ( mentioned his name) who is a public accountant just for 2 weeks only. He came to visit me last year and I promised to return back his visit
VO: what do you do
Me:I am a marketer of building materials.. Majorly cement., I have 3 sales men 2 driver, 2trucks and my office is located at bla bla bla
Vo:what brand of cement
Me:Dangote cement
Vo: Are you married?
Me: No I am single but engaged and I will be getting married by September(vo:oh congrats) and also I have a child out of wedlock.
VO:Have you traveled before
Me:Yes, I have be to pritioria, South Africa.. That was December last year and I went for vacation and also used the opportunity to see an old Time friend
VO:How much is your take home pay
Me:I pay my self an average of 358,000 per month

Then the next thing I heard was sorry, your visa cannot be approved now.. I smiled and I said thank you.

Now I wanna reapply cos I already promised my fiancee that I am gonna do a little shopping for our wedding(likes of my suit and her wedding gown) but after I was denied, I gave up but she's pestering me to reapply so I can do the shopping majorly all together and see my cousin too...

In the first place I didn't see the reason why I was denied and also.. Now that I wanna re apply, what are my chances of getting approved.. (I know no one can predict the chances but I just wanna hear from the house)... Thanks
NOTE :I'm 25yrs*
Graduated:2014
You appear too desperate, why re applying too soon when nothing has improved in your personal circumstance. It's not logical that you want to travel to US to buy wedding gown etc. which can be ordered online.

If your yearly drawings is about N4 million, can you honestly justify spending about 25% of it for a two week vacation? Rather than thinking of growing your business!

The VOs are not stupid.

If I were the VO, I will take the same decision.

A business development manager earning less than $600 per month can't be so strategic to the growth of his company, except it's a one-man business. Why would your company want to invest more than your six months salary in training you overseas when you would be better off with a salary raise and train you locally?

Good Morning Fellow Nairalanders!!!

Was denied student visa about 15yrs ago due to weak ties to home country, i never reaplied because i made a vow not to seek for any visa till when am capable of sponsoring myself.

Fast forwad to 2017, I own a successful business and my white wedding is next year febuary.

I and my wife intends to visit the US and the carribean for our honeymoon immedietly after the wedding, we intend to fix the interview date in october 2016.

My parents are immigrants based in usa and i also have a sister who is a citizen as well as her husband.

Please house i need suggestions and opinnions on the best way to approach this!!
You didn't state if your parents are legal immigrants in USA or not. You should be prepared to answer questions in this respect especially how they got their permanent residence status, if they have. If they don't have, then don't bother to apply.

A newly wedded whose parents are in US so what would be your strong ties to Nigeria?
If you're not a frequent traveler, my suggestion would be to leave out US from your itinerary except you have a very thriving business here in Nigeria.

Relatives have blood or legal relationships such as Spouse, adopted or biological children, parents or siblings; Uncles, Aunties, Neices and Nephews (not distant or village Uncles oooo).
I don't think your friend fall into any of these categories.

I believe you're referring to the visas of North America and European countries, the easiest way is to get your employer to sponsor you for foreign course/workshop. You may also want to start with UAE and African countries which would enhance your chances for North America and European countries' visas in future.

Hello house! sad

Actually, I just got admitted to study at the masters level in Oregon come fall; I have also gotten my visa. My plan is to jet out by August 17, first, to visit New Jersey (I've booked my ticket to Newark already), spend few days with my uncle and then book a flight and report to school.

The issue now is the Port of Entry palava, as I'm scared the officers might be concerned about me not having a ticket to Oregon... Although my port of entry would be Boston, cos that's where Emirates would drop me before connecting with a local flight to NJ; I want to know the house views on this risky waka of mine and also learn from others experiences.

Is it also true they'll know I'm going to NJ without asking me?

Please help ! Thanks.....
There shouldn't be any problem if you're spending few days in NJ but ensure you buy ticket for your connecting flight before leaving Nigeria.

Hahaha so Bill Gates is a fraudster?
Bill Gates did not make money from nothing. He made his money from selling software but you claimed you're making money from nothing. It's only wealth created that can be sold or transferred. Have you ever given a thought? Every $ you make from bitcoins etc. is the $ lost by someone else, most especially the rookies you newly introduced to the "business".

https://www.biography.com/people/bill-gates-9307520

The Rise of Microsoft

Gates's acumen for not only software development but also business operations put him in the position of leading the company and working as its spokesperson. He personally reviewed every line of code the company shipped, often rewriting code himself when he saw it necessary. As the computer industry began to grow with companies like Apple, Intel and IBM developing hardware and components, Bill was continuously out on the road touting the merits of Microsoft software applications. He often took his mother with him. Mary was highly respected and well connected with her membership on several corporate boards, including IBM's. It was through Mary that Bill Gates met the CEO of IBM.

If you visit the investment section of Niaraland regularly you must have come across a trend explaining what cryptocurrency is all about; with a theme focusing on persuading you to invest. To be more precise you must have read about BITCOIN.

Bitcoin is the most successful cryptocurrency among all the hundreds of different brand of cryptocurrencies which is currently in existence. Though as of late there are cryptocurrencies such as ETHEREUM which offers services beyond just a medium of payment and exchange of value; but The fundamental purpose of Bitcoin and over hundreds of other cryptocurrency is to serve as an alternative method to transfer monetary values in a decentralized system other than the fiat centralized system we already have.

THE SIMPLE IDENTITY OF BITCOIN & CRYPTOCURRENCIES

A lot of people have found it difficult to understand what Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies is, this is mainly because of the many grammatical vocabularies associated with it's explanation. But if you could give the grammars a break; Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies is just series of numbers created electronically on a computer system. In the case of Bitcoin the numbers ranges from 1 to 21 million or if you are counting in its lesser units called Satoshi it ranges from 1 to 2.1 quadrillion. Basically in every 1Bitcoin there are 100,000,000 Satoshi likewise with other cryptocurrencies with there specific units and range of numbers.

The range of numbers created is determined by the creator of the cryptocurrency. The value of cryptocurrencies is not influenced by any legitimate substance but by just DEMAND & SPECULATION.

So basically the value of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency is simply based on the actions of individuals and organizations who decided to see those series of electronic numbers created as a thing of value and began to trade with it among themselves.

The process of transferring bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is simply sending the electronic numbers in your computer to someone's else computer without duplication; just like if you transfer your airtime to someone it's gone from your sim card and you cannot get it back unless the person transfers it back to you.

One important part of cryptocrrencies is The Blockchain which is just a tool that records all the transaction history and shows transactions as it happens. Think about some ponzi scheme sites which displays latest PH & GH on the dashboard that's just it, only this time you can always track any transaction at anytime regardless when it happened using the transaction ID called hash in cryptocurrency language.

CRYPTOCURRENCIES A MONEY BASED ON MUTUAL CONSENT

As previously stated the value of Bitcoin is not influenced by any legitimate substance like Gold or Oil or any other commodity it's just speculation and demand. Just because a group of people and organizations agreed to trade with the electronic numbers someone created, it became valuable and because the numbers has a fix range which cannot be exceeded the more people demand to use this electronic created numbers in an ordinary sense it creates scarcity which ultimately increases the price or cost of acquiring the said numbers. Just like when fuel is scarce in Nigeria it becomes more expensive to purchase.

If people decides not to use the electronic created numbers for trading anymore it becomes worthless. When the cryptocurrency movement started it can be said to be a rebellion towards the system which the government has implemented for us to exchange values, but ultimately the government can not take away the freedom of individuals because it will be a breach of human right. Therefore because the people agreed among themselves it became a thing of value among them which no one can stop or control except them, thus it is said to be decentralized because it is not controlled by the policies of the government.

NIGERIA A MYOPIC NATION OF OVER 180 MILLION SKEPTICS

Nigeria is a country with extreme poverty among the people with high inflation rate and a rapidly decaying currency which has completely neutralized the purchasing power of its citizens and further increase hunger and abject poverty among the people. Most of this struggles if not all is directly blamed on the government and their corruption system of leadership which favours no one but themselves.

The moral lessons from the existence of cryptocurrencies is that mutual agreement is so powerful is so much that it can result in the creation of a decentralized economy where the power is taken away from the government and given to the people. An economy can be created out of nothing, values can be created out of nothing, we don't need the oil from the Niger delta, we don't need the other numerous resources from other parts of the country, in the beginning the heavens and earth was completely void the bible recorded, everything we now see or have come to accept after God's creation was made by man and it became a thing because people agreed to make use of it which ultimately made it valuable.

Sadly Nigerians are people full of skepticism, fear unwillingness to try something new, people who are comfortable with limiting source of income to the known, a country with civil unrest overcomed by tribal hatred and selfishness, a country which views anything made by a Nigerian as inferior or scammy.

Until we begin to believe more in ourselves we cannot overcome poverty, we will remain in the captive chain of governmental policies which favours no one but themselves, we will continue to be viewed as inferior and a 3rd world country by other nation, we will continue to remain 180 MILLION SKEPTICS.
Na by force?

If you're making so much money from it why don't you continue or are you tired of making profit?

After the crash of MMM only the few greedy and gullible Nigerians would fall for these money making gimmicks without sound economic principles that teaches making money from nothing. Money is made only from sales/exchange of goods and services. Anything to the contrary is fraud!

Hello gurus in the house, kindly assist me on these;

1. On my DS160 form I erroneously filled the address of the museum which am visiting as both place of stay in the US(which was supposed to be an hotel address) and place of visit.

Now, what if the VO ask me 'What is the name of the hotel u want to be staying for the period of ur stay in Ashland? Does it make sense if I should now say the address of the museum as I fill in the form? Won't the VO ask the hotel address which I didn't put in the form?

Kindly advise accordingly as my interview is nxt week.
Why don't you simply complete a new DS160 form? This can easily be done by retrieving the existing one and create a new application. You review the form and update it with the hotel address. Thereafter, you update the barcode in the portal for appointment.
