EducationRe: Pls Can HND Distinction Go For Masters Direct by cosade(m): 8:49am On Oct 02, 2016
Janyves:
My advice goes thus.... He/ she has to enrolled for a top- up course . It's run by some UK universities. It's specially for equating HND to BSC in a duration of one year. From there I'm sure she can secure scholarship grants. Pls. Don't go for Pgd if you want to be fully accepted into the academia ......... There are some groups of cabal who would do everything to keep peeps without BSC from the academic lime light.
Cheers.
Best advice, if he/she doesn't want anything to limit his/her chances in all sectors in Nigeria.

During the era of IBB, I went to visit a friend lecturing in a Federal University then. I met them (my friend and some of his colleagues) discussing why they won't vote a particular Professor for the DVC position. The reason they gave was that the man is a Professor without a degree. It was strange to hear that, because this is a man I knew had a PhD, so I asked them "is the doctorate degree no longer a degree?". They argued that the man did not have a first degree, so he didn't have a foundation and you can't build something on nothing. This is a Professor with HND, PGD, MSc and PhD; he lost the DVC election woefully.

The discrimination is not limited to the academic world, it's all over.

Bros all these things look very easy on paper but in reality it will drain you mentally and psychologically. You don't just marry and you get green card automatically. I have three friends who are hooked right now just because of this reason. Immigration will stalk your life...Facebook, instagram and twitter....something will give you up and they will know the marriage is not legit.
If it's not a sham marriage, there is nothing to worry about.

Good morning ppl. if i travel to usa on a visiting visa, will i be given work permit if i get married to an american citizen which will change my visa type into a spouse visahuh?
If you're truly in love with an American citizen, then your best bet is to let her come to Nigeria and get married here. And thereafter apply for a spouse visa, but make sure it's not a sham marriage because it would be detected.

https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/family/fiance.html

The American citizen can also apply for a fiancé(e) visa for you, which would allow you to travel to the US for your marriage.

You are going to USA with visiting visa whatever you do apart from visiting is a crime and a life of slavery.

If any of the reported details are anything to go by, then Oyegun ERRED and should shut up.

You cannot fight imposition with imposition. Submitting Akete's name to INEC as candidate when the panel vote says otherwise is unprincipled, undemocratic and is nothing but pure treachery.

Oyegun needs to resign or make amends or the future of their party will drift into the realm of uncertainty. I hope PMB continues to maintain his neutrality.
....... The party rebutted reports that the national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, over-ruled the NWC and unilaterally forwarded Akeredolu's name to INEC.

According to the party, it unanimously arrived at the decision having identified some fundamental flaws in the report of the appeal committee.

“For the records, the Party's National Working Committee (NWC) decision to reject the 2016 Ondo State APC Governorship Primary Election Appeal Committee Report was taken on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in executive session after careful and exhaustive deliberation. The minutes and rejection was confirmed by the NWC on Thursday, September 22, 2016.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Accused Of Plagiarising Obama’s Speech by cosade(m): 5:19am On Sep 17, 2016
mars123:
so you would have preferred he started quoting references after he finished the speech? you should be smarter than this.

For your information, plagiarism is when you copy someones work and take credit for it. then u can be stripped of honours and taken to court too, this I know.

But you cannot tell me Buhari has committed a crime by using part of someone's speech. Why because a speech is a vocalised form of communication, when its rephrased, becomes original. and hence its not a crime to copy part of someone speech if it fits with the occasion. leaders everywhere every time do it and you can research if you want.

moreover credit can't be given in this case because it was rephrased hence you can't say "like Obama said". The writers(criminal minds or not) are very aware and more learned than you are too.

After all my explanation though, you are still free to have an opinion that matters to no one, not even the original owner of the speech. Because haters can't be reasoned with.
ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ARE CONSIDERED PLAGIARISM:

- turning in someone else's work as your own
- copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit
- failing to put a quotation in quotation marks
- giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation
- changing words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving credit
- copying so many words or ideas from a source that it makes up the majority of your work, whether you give credit or not (see our section on "fair use" rules)

Most cases of plagiarism can be avoided, however, by citing sources. Simply acknowledging that certain material has been borrowed and providing your audience with the information necessary to find that source is usually enough to prevent plagiarism. See our section on citation for more information on how to cite sources properly.

Copy and Paste or plagiarism in this context is not a crime, is it? People do copy part of each other's work. artistes, writers, film directors, students, are all guilty of this, it's not a new thing...next!
Stealing is a crime.

Plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward.

Do you know, you don't have to buy food to feed snails? Do you know, this is the only leave snails feed on for years without any problems? Type of soil ,this is because they feed also on soil, if you give them wrong soil they will die 2. Nature of the environment, the environment must be kept wet and away from pest esp ants 3. Snails and slugs are among the most bothersome pests in many gardens and landscapes. The brown garden snail, Cornu aspersum (formerly Helix aspersa), is the most common snail causing problems in California gardens.

I planted 4 Dwarf Pawpaw trees in my garden. They are really a wonderful sight to behold. But suddenly, these wicked snails just invaded my farm and are presently destroying the Pawpaw fruits. I have been searching for a more milder way to exterminate them without using chemicals. Gurus in the house, pls help. see pics below
MANAGEMENT
A good snail and slug management program relies on a combination of methods. The first step is to eliminate, as much as possible, all places where they can hide during the day. Boards, stones, debris, weedy areas around tree trunks, leafy branches growing close to the ground, and dense ground covers such as ivy are ideal sheltering spots. It won’t be possible to eliminate some shelters such as low ledges on fences, the undersides of wooden decks, and water meter boxes, so make a regular practice of trapping and removing snails and slugs from these areas.

Did a snail eat my plant?
Locate vegetable gardens or susceptible plants as far away from snail and slug hiding places as possible. Reducing hiding places allows fewer snails and slugs to survive. The survivors congregate in the remaining shelters, where you can more easily locate and remove them.

Switching from sprinkler irrigation to drip irrigation will reduce humidity and moist surfaces, making the habitat less favorable for these pests. Choose snail-proof plants, such as those listed below, for areas where snails and slugs are dense. Copper barriers can be useful for protecting especially susceptible plants. Though baits can be part of a management program, it is better to use them in conjunction with other habitat modification, especially in gardens that contain plenty of shelter, food, and moisture.

Plant selection can greatly affect how difficult your battle with snails and slugs will be. Because snails and slugs favor seedlings and plants with succulent foliage, you will need to vigilantly protect these. Some plants these pests will seriously damage include basil, beans, cabbage, dahlia, delphinium, hosta, lettuce, marigolds, strawberries, and many other vegetable plants. On the other hand, many plants resist snail and slug damage including begonias, California poppy, fuchias, geraniums, impatiens, lantana, nasturtiums, and purple robe cup flower as well as many plants with stiff leaves and highly scented foliage such as lavender, rosemary, and sage. Most ornamental, woody plants, and ornamental grasses also aren’t seriously affected. If you design your landscape using snail and slug resistant plants, you are likely to have very limited damage.
