The Election is getting postponed because of the WAEC Exam on Saturday, which happens to be Mathematics.
The Followers and Disciplines of the Clueless one, will say it is because the election wants to be rigged.
Common sense should tell you guys that elections do not need to be postponed before it can be rigged.
That said. APC is winning Edo State with a landslide Victory.
Let us do some basic polling here with these Local Government Areas.
Akoko Edo,Egor,Etsako Central,Etsako East,Etsako West,Ikpoba-Okha,Oredo,Orhionwon,Ovia North East,Ovia South-west,Owan East,Owan West,uhunmwode will all go APC.
It is the 5 Esan Local Governments that is unpredictable, but basic numbers and maths gives it to APC.
This postponement is not well timed, because of this, I see more voters giving PDP sympathy votes.
Richy4: I would have asked for the difference between fulani and Hausa....but i do not want to be seen as someone that doesn't know his people and country......Anyone who knows should enlighten me please. ..
In 1804 Usuman Dan Fodio, a studious and charismatic Muslim Fulani scholar, began to preach the reformist ideology in the Hausa kingdoms. His movement became a revolution when in 1804, seeing himself as God’s instrument, he preached a jihad against the Hausa kings whom he felt were not following the teachings of the Prophet. A great upheaval followed in which the Fulani took control of most of the Hausa states of northern Nigeria in the western Sudan. A new kingdom, based on the city of Sokoto, developed under Dan Fodio’s son and brother. The Fulani expansion was driven not only by religious zeal but by political ambitions, as the attack on the well-established Muslim kingdom of Bornu demonstrated. The result of this upheaval was the creation of a powerful Sokoto state under a caliph, whose authority was established over cities such as Kano and Zaria and whose rulers became emirs of provinces within the Sokoto caliphate.
Fyno: your on point brother, I even bought a Bag of Rice at #8000 at shoprite owerri today while they keep saying its #20000. NNPC near my HUX dey sell kerosene at #35 a liter, one paint of garri is #250,Yam 100 a tuber even idomie super park is now #650 a carton. PDP wants to rubbish our grandfather just because he's old
Price varies and it depends on brand, quality etc.
This is credited to an APC Chieftain.........
The Chairman, Alimosho Local Government in Lagos, Mr. Ganiyu Quadri has stated that a bag of rice will sell for N9000 before the end of the year 2016.
Quadri gave the assurance while receiving a delegation of Rotary Club of Akowonjo 9110, led by its District-Governor, Patrick Ikheloa, and President, Shola Abidakun.
Quadri stated that the agro-business scheme run by the Lagos State government in Kebbi State will put an end to the high cost of foodstuff in the Southwest.
He said: “By the end of this year, or first quarter next year, things will change in Lagos. Already, we are into agro-business in Kebbi State.
“We have massive land on which we planted grains, among which is rice, our people’s staple food. And it is expected that the truck-loads of rice will storm Lagos soon
“So, I can assure you that before the end of this year, the price of a bag of rice, which is N18,000, will drop to N9,000.”
kevinberry: Question for those that normally fly from lagos to abuja,is there any parachute or is it one for two,I mean one parachute two people share it...
There are no parachutes in commercial airplanes all over the world. People mistaken air bags for parachutes, it's a standard practice globally for planes flying over water to have air bags in case of emergence landing on water.
tolexy007: if MMM is a scam but is helping hand not a scam? here is my story, last yr a friend of came to me about helping hand telling me to join the biz with 6600, I now ask him, so what will happen after paying the money? would I be selling things or what? cos I no of GNLD, Organo gold etc, he said am not selling anything only that I will b bringing more plpp to join that dey will b under me and the more plpp comes in the more dollar I get and soon dey will give me laptop, cars etc, I now ask so how do dey make the money to give me those items he mentioned, cos he told me that the dollar that will pay are used to help the less privileged plpp, I now ask him that means I will be robbing peter to Paul for dem? I said am not interested, few months later I saw my friend with brand new laptops, and show me his how much he has made, den he convince me gain to join, I have no choice, I borrowed 6600 I join helping hands, most plpp I try to convince to join me no even answer me most plpp even tell me say dem don join since say dem never see anything, I blamed my self for not join dem in time...... early this yr of one my trusted friend came to me about MMM, he explain it to me said I could join with any amount, I did not even think twice, b4 I joined, I used the little change I made from my daily hustle to do it, it was like a magic, the thing pay, I try it again, it works and still working. but my question is y Calling MMM fraud? and Helping hand is not a fraud, even when both of dem are risky? don't tell me 6600 naira is not too big to lose, I No Nairaland admin will ban me again,
eleojo23: MMM will end when online and offline articles like this begin to circulate and spread panic around hence discouraging more people from joining the scheme.
These kind of schemes thrive on what I will call goodwill and once many people begin to speak against the program as is happening now, it is most likely heading for a crash.
A word is enough for the wise.
ngoben: Hmmmmmm....everyfin na risk, breathing na risk, putting ur money in d bank to save na risk(d bank fit fold up anytym wif ur moni),importation na risk,,,ur gooods fit sink...soo leave mmm alone...if it closes...d pple in d connunity will no dat dey tried taking a risk n it failed...of course dey will rise again...dan nt taking d risk @all...tks
This is a scam, it is called the pyramid scheme. Only the few people that joined early may benefit and the multitudes that joined later will lose out.
I am a Christian and I have preached to Muslims and was welcomed by an Imam and we sat down and reasoned together. I have worked for two Muslims, one from Ede in Osun State and the other one from Lagos State and both treated me like a Prince and I respected them. They never cheated or owed me one kobo and I flew on a plane with one of them, Alhaja H. O. Shitta who has known me since I was 21 and instrumental to connecting me to the Johns Hopkins University's Population Communications Services (JHU/PCS). We stayed in the same Metropolitan Hotel in Calabar for an Africare/WHO seminar in 1993 and I was in a separate suite with room service, all expenses paid. She treated me like her son and never for once disparaged our Lord and Messiah Jesus Christ and I never disparaged Prophet Muhammad. On the other hand, the so called Igbo "Christians" I worked for cheated and owed me till date and one even sent me death threats for exposing his fraud and scam to swindle both the government and private companies with an international film festival I founded in 2009. Because of his evil greed, he rushed to register it as his own and keeping telling lies shamelessly to deceive ignorant people and still lies that he is a Christian. Majority of Nigerians provoking Muslims are not real and true Christians, but church goers. They are the ones provoking Muslims most.
"Natural Mystic"
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air; If you listen carefully now you will hear. This could be the first trumpet, might as well be the last: Many more will have to suffer, Many more will have to die - don't ask me why.
Things are not the way they used to be, I won't tell no lie; One and all have to face reality now. 'Though I've tried to find the answer to all the questions they ask. 'Though I know it's impossible to go livin' through the past - Don't tell no lie.
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air - Can't keep them down - If you listen carefully now you will hear.
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air.
This could be the first trumpet, might as well be the last: Many more will have to suffer, Many more will have to die - don't ask me why.
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air - I won't tell no lie; If you listen carefully now you will hear: There's a natural mystic blowing through the air. Such a natural mystic blowing through the air; There's a natural mystic blowing through the air; Such a natural mystic blowing through the air; Such a natural mystic blowing through the air; Such a natural mystic blowing through the air. This is not the first time and will not be the last until Nigerians learn from the costly mistakes of the past.
You are an Igbo living on a street surrounded my Hausas and you call your dog "Buhari" and you are a Christian student in an Islamic Sharia state and you disrespect Prophet Muhammad, you are only a troublemaker or you want to commit suicide.
"I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves." ◄ Messiah Jesus Christ, Matthew 10:16 ►
Pray you're not at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Guyman02: For those of us living in the North, I advice people coming for youth service from the South who are oblivious of the lifestyle and backwardness in the North : one fact you must know as a Southerner is that you can easily be lynched in the North, for example if somebody in Zamfara owes you N5m and you travel from Lagos to Gusau to get your money which the person is not willing to pay and wants to eliminate you; all he needs to do is to engage you in an argument and shout that you have abused the Prophet and Islam; that could be not only the end of your money but your life as well. A mob of Almajiri will gather and stone you and will not even ask you if it is true or not.
Secondly, avoid any Arabic paper; the reality is that you could be lynched for squeezing a Porn magazine written in Arabic alphabet while nothing may happen to you if you burn a copy of the Koran written in English. Most illiterates in the North think that Arabic alphabets has to do with the Koran only and its from Allah, they dont know that in the Middle East and Asia its a means of writing used in solving mathematics, physics equations, writing letters, newspapers, Bible etc
Avoid arguments with mallams when in the market or motor park, if the price is not good move to the next shop or bus, if they say get out, just get out to avoid trouble. If you can, learn the Shahada in Arabic (not English) as it may help you in times of trouble even if you are not a Muslim; just keep repeating it and they will back off and say you have acknowledged their Prophet, stay alive first.
Shahada: la ilaha illa Allah, Muḥammadu rasulu Allah There is no god but God. Muhammad is the messenger of God
They behave like animals when they are in religious frenzy as they see you Southerners as the reason for their poverty because of the sins (womanizing, alcohol, clubbing, gambling etc) you commit against their Allah, this is what their religious leaders tell them.
They dont face serious prosecution or sanctions for these crimes as the average Northern politicians feel it will cost them the next election if they are seen to be prosecuting Muslims who defended the 'honour' of the prophet and Islam by killing blasphemers and infidels and will not want to jeopardize his electoral chances because of the noise from you in the South
eemjay: Congratulations! God bless your home. Pls stay committed to your marital vows & let her be forever grateful she said yes to you. And she's beautiful. Wishing you a lifetime of cconjugal bliss.
morereb10: What Manner Of Stupidity Is This On A Wedding Day: Is This Fashion Or Madness
What manner of foolishness it this anyway? I am so mad of this wedding dressing that am ready to course even the designer and the bride who put on this dressing. What is really wrong with ladies or nowadays?
How can a pastor even admit this kind of bride into his church to be wedded? These new generation churches are really not helping matters at all. Sometimes you wonder if we are serving the same God. Dressed like this on a wedding day, God know how she dresses conventionally.
wadetaw202: cosade, i hope you read this story about the bloodsucking demons you were defending vehemently the other day?
I have never supported lawlessness in my life. Please don't drag me into the politics of mudslinging that goes on, on this forum. If you care to go through all my posts on Nairaland, it has always support good governance, sound morals and positive values.
BarryJones: pls how do they dress to class in the UK.. i am planning on taking a lot of native ankara and lace dressess. with a few coporate shirts and a suit.Is it true that clothes are cheaper over there? also will our normal nigerian sweater be enough to protect me from the cold over there? what are the food items & kithen utensils i need to take along?.thanks
I can see that you're really getting prepared for your master's programme, that's good. You don't need a lot of native dresses but your shirts and suits would be good. You'll definitely need more than the 'normal Nigerian sweater' over there but could be of use initially when you arrive. Don't burden yourself with any cooking utensils.
By the way I have responded to your email and we can talk better. Cheers!
sokia: Nairalanders ignorance is baffle me most of the cows in visibility of city or street is owned by the rich men they only employed herdsmen to help them tk care of....
So because they are rich men they should trespass on others properties?
tearoses: I think this is where the issue lies Something he must have said/done/written on his application did not sit well with the Swiss authorities and when he came back again, they grabbed him His treatment was inhumane though, and that needs to be addressed even if they were going to deport him, they should have treated him fairly. He is a human being
There are too many holes in his story.
It is cheaper and logical for the Swiss Government to send him back to Spain than to deport him to Nigeria. So there is much more to it.
Why didn't he call his friend or office on phone, for help when he ran into problem in Switzerland? If he did, they probably knew the implication of what he did and left him to carry his cross.
If Nigeria High Commissions and Embassies are clueless and don't know how to support her citizens in different countries, it is a shame. Nigeria can't stop a very responsible government like US from discharging its duties to her citizens. It's part of normal consular responsibilities for countries to give security guidance to her citizens residing in foreign countries.
Whenever I want to travel to any country especially African or Asian countries, the current security reports issued by the US Embassy in that country is a document I must download and read. Always objective and factual. Nigeria is only acting Ostrich, by denying the report. Shame!
On the issue of crimes in US. More crimes may be committed in US than Nigeria, but there is very high chances that a large number of those crimes would be detected, resolved and prosecuted. Unlike in Nigeria, that a large number would be undetected and/or unresolved thus no prosecution. Even the few that are detected would be badly prosecuted.
pippimp: So what of her? This might sound strange to you, but adultery is not a crime. If a man is s.tupid enough to commit murder because of infidelity, then he deserves whatever punishment comes after.
At worst, he would have seek for divorce. Now, the best he can get away with is manslaughter and the lady will be free to remarry. Too bad!
IMASTEX: This world is indeed a complex place. You might be forced to agree after hearing this account. A friend, Joe (not real name) came to me lust in thought about what to do. According to him, he had finalized every wedding arrangement including printing of invitation cards, etc only to be invited by his pastor last week. On getting there, the pastor requested for his TITHE CARD. Unfortunately, he was one of those who doesn't subscribe to owning a tithe card, even though, he is a tither. So, when he couldn't provide his pastor with the tithe card, the pastor bluntly informed him that he can't conduct the wedding ceremony without that record. After much pleading and negotiations including involving some family members, his fiancée, etc. The pastor finally gave him an option of paying accumulated tithe. A two years back log was calculated for him, amounting to hundreds of thousands. Which must be paid before the wedding can hold.
Now the issues is that, Joe doesn't feel pleased been subjected to such conditions. However, to shoulder such task, Joe suggested cutting down some of the wedding activities/expenses but his fiancée didn't accept it. And he didn't quite conform to holding the wedding in his fiancée's church because of the small size of the church building which is even undergoing construction work. Some of his family members are even suggesting to just go for registry after the traditional marriage and forget about the white wedding. All these issues are what is giving him worries.
Please, your matured advise/opinions will be greatly appreciated. The wedding is suppose to hold 20th of this Month. Yet, no valid conclusion is reached.
I agree with his family members but should have the buy-in of his spouse.
being: Naturally for an accountant, it's Ican- (only relevant in Nigeria) or ACCA - global (but u can't sign a financial statement in Nigeria with acca and it's more expensive). So what u should do is finish ur ican and if u need d global ACCA after ur ICAN, maybe to work abroad, ACCA will ask u to take 3 papers and u get ur ACCA certification.
For CFA, Its mainly a financial analysis certification (as d name implies). Useful for ibankers, venture capitalists, hedge fund managers, financial asset managers, pension fund managers and pple in corporate finance or treasury of a bank. If that's ur eventual interest, u should plan to do d 3 very difficult papers that make up CFA. It's's expensive, but abeg u r not wasting ur parent's Moni on drugs or parties so make use of ur opportunity!! (Note that ibankers work terribly long hours and deir pay & BONUS are crazy- but that's not a problem for u I guess).
U can always PM me.
BarryJones: Good morning Nairalanders, I am a graduate of accounting. I completed my accountancy degree in 2014, finishing first class. I completed my NYSC last October. ....... My daddy is now suggesting that I forget ICAN for now and concentrate on doing CFA, because he will want me to come back with internationally recognized certificates to increase my job prospects on my return. But my own thought is that by the time I will be returning from UK, I will both be ICAN Chartered and hold a UK Masters degree. I tried to explain to him that from my little knowledge of CFA, it is a rather limited certification (I believe its mainly for Investment bankers, though I will still apply to Investment Banks when I return) unlike ICAN which gives broader prospects. ........ I have a passion for setting up businesses, to be self employed and provide jobs for people later on, but I really love to practice Accounting in this my youthful age, and then save up to start my own business. Please I will appreciate advice from knowledgeable and experienced professionals. Should I heed my dads call?
My son, I am back again because I have been seeing this CFA stuff reoccurring. Please I don't want you to derail from your passion to practice Accounting and the dream of being self employed in future. Since your intention is to come back to Nigeria, so ICAN is the best option. Combine only the final stage of ICAN with your M.Sc programme in UK. It is also important you finish your masters with good scores, so don't spread your resources too thinly by doing more than two programmes at a time.
When you come back to Nigeria, you will easily get job as a Qualified Trainee (QT) in any of the Big Four, believe me it is easy.
While working as a QT, then you can study for CFA, if you so wish. To practice as an Accountant you need a practice licence and this requires 36 months training (not 24 months as I stated in my earlier post) which you would do as QT with a decent pay. It is only after this you can say you have achieved your dream of being able to practice accounting. If you however start your career in the banking industry, then it would be very difficult later in your career to come back to do this 36 months training, to acquire your practice licence.
When you have your licence you can start moving from one industry to the other, if you so wish.
If you want me to talk to your Dad on this issue, I am very willing.
ayantaiwo: Congrats to all candidates better days ahead, am happy with that result from cms bariga and all candidates that did very well in government schools. Wit the level of government commitment on education and other things, its not easy to have a good results in govt schools compare to private
Congratulations to all the new OGS members! Up school! Up boys!
