Klass99:
Crackhaus this is 2024 abeg rest from this your pretentious, sanctimonious, bullshit and be real.
I vividly recall that you engaged me in the past about this issue of not wanting kids and being childfree, with one of your alternate monikers which I can't accurately remember, but Uyai publicly pointed out that you were the owner of that moniker and you didn't deny it.
You asked questions and even insinuated some kind of childhood trauma or medical disability on my part which led to such a life choice. All of which I answered no to, maintaining that a lack of desire and zero interest in being a mother/parent, were my motivating factors.
You conceded at some point and said you couldn't understand it. Whether you recall that conversation or not, I do, as if it was yesterday. Yet, here you are again casting aspersions on folks like me who don't want children. Insinuating again that it may be some sort of medical or health challenge, or in your words, you automatically assume something is wrong with such people.
Why is it so hard for folks like you to accept that people are wired differently and we all want different things in this life? There are essentially three purposes of marriage;
1. Companionship 2. Sex and then..... 3. Procreation/children.
A person can want marriage for three of those reasons above, just two or only one of them. You asked, why marry at all if you don't want children? I want marriage for the sex and companionship only, sex and companionship on a platform heaven will approve of and I won't be fornicating or sinning.
The live-in lovers lifestyle you suggested is not the better option or the way everyone wants to roll, for the sake of companionship. You are a believer, aren't you? I expect you to know better.
Additionally.......marriage and children are life choices, not mandatory goals or achievements we all have to meet, in order to unlock happiness or the adult phase of our lives. There is no rule or law that says you must marry for children!
I know married couples who are childfree as a matter of choice, there is nothing medically or spiritually wrong with them. Abeg rest! What was the point of engaging and drilling me with questions back then, only to return now, with the same assumptions and insinuations as before?
You don't need to understand "childfree by choice" folks, but respect that as humans we have free will and the power of choice given to us by the creator himself. And some of us are exercising both free will and power choice, by intentionally and deliberately, choosing to not have children. Our choice does not harm or affect others. We must not want the same things you do.
Klass Klass Klass... It was quite unnecessary having to go on and explain this much to someone you think is being pretentious and sanctimonious, don't you think? 1 Like |

Mindlog:
Many are sexually active outside marriage and procreating without being married!
A woman who is very intentional about nothing getting pregnant would do "everything" possible not to get pregnant. there are gynaecological and andrological options available.
Some crave for companionships in marriage while being child-free, that is their choice that is also valid! Most Nigerian women in Nigeria can't even afford this and those who can will not want to do it because, EUREKA!!!, women change their minds per second... but whatever you say though. |

Mindlog:
Not everyone's concept of marriage involves birthing children, some choose to be single and having kids then we have those who got married and intentionally being child-free Every time I read something like this, I automatically assume something must be wrong with either one of them, and I just don't mean medically. Cos all things being equal (healthy & fertile), there's no way the woman in this scenario won't get pregnant at least once. Then what happens? She gets rid of it? Okay Which then circles back to what Jman06 asked, what is the point? Why marry at all? If companionship is the goal, then get it outside the institution of marriage...this is the better arrangement. And YES, one of the main purposes of marriage is procreation. No amount of jibber-jabber or gobbledygook will change that. 3 Likes 1 Share |

greenie77:
Then ask yourself , If a man has all he desires in a union can he remain happy forever?
Don't we have men around us, who you have keenly observed that their wives are truly wife materials who are beautiful, homely, family-oriented and when you visit their homes, you sense calm and positive vibes BUT the man/husband is out on the streets, salivating over ladies and having sex with them, sponsoring their lifestyles, ladies who are no where in comparison to his wife, he claims he still loves.
No human, male or female is created to remain happy forever as they are not static beings as time and life will happen to each one of us. I must be a robot then, cos I am perpetually in a constant state of happiness. I guess I successfully hacked the matrix... 1 Like 1 Share |

Jman06: Sometimes I wonder how I'll be racking my head on being the best at my work so I can make money in order to keep my woman and kids happy, and at the same time worry myself on how to keep her.
I believe that there are wise ladies out there from good homes with good upbringing who'll understand that she doesn't have to stress a man so much to meet her mundane expectations provided he's doing well in the aspect of providing for his family.
This! Don't even stress it. Wives who want you to be Superman always end up scamming themselves. Whenever they decide you're still not doing enough and start looking for who to talk to, they never actually have anything to complain about without looking stupid. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Not all villages are like this one you described, I can tell you this for a fact.
However, as someone mentioned above, farming on the same land for years without nourishing the land and using same old seeds from old harvests will inadvertently reduce yield overtime.
The same goes for hunting.
Rural dwellers, and possibly Nigerians generally, seem not to be enlightened enough to understand that there should be strict hunting seasons every calendar year. Hunting all round the year every year will not give enough time for bush animals to reproduce, grow, and multiply. But since bush meat is not really our main source of meat, this ought not to be a problem either way. |

Tallesty1: She is not trending because what she did was a big deal.
I followed the story from the start.
About a week before her tweet, some men on Twitter had been trying to prove to others that one doesn't need to make money first before going into a relationship. They argued that relationships can develop and thrive without one breaking the bank. Surprisingly, the other men, who claimed that all Nigerian women are gold diggers, argued that it is impossible. According to them, you need money first before you can approach a woman, or else other men who are richer will take her from you.
Women, the gold diggers, did their best to prove them otherwise, but they wouldn't have it.
So, when Debbie made that tweet and feminists started dragging her for waking up to cook for a man who doesn't have a freezer (they dug up her old tweet where she said that she needs a mattress and a freezer), men took it personal.
Firstly, because feminists, who were supposed to empower their fellow woman, were trashing her instead. One thing led to another, and the other group of men who had been arguing that you can be respected without money saw her tweet. They checked her timeline and saw that she had always been respectful to her broke husband, so she became a practical example of all they had been theorizing for over a week. They started trending her, and suddenly, people began asking for her account number to get her the freezer and mattress she was being mocked for. The rest is history.
So, it goes beyond waking up to cook. So na wetin sup be dis? Thanks! I had begun to wonder why someone cooking for her husband at 4am became a hot topic. |

One day, a lady came home with long braids, and the mother's concern was how her boyfriend would cope during doggy. She voiced this concern out loud, and I overheard it because I was outside. The mother's line of work is obvious. 3 Likes |
