ifyalways: This govt is heartless !That's Nigeria for you my dear... |
Logicboy03: Thank you for your honest answer!Really...do you actually believe this? Logicboy03: The bible is not a miracle. Or do you think differently? What is your opinion on this?A book that gives you comfort in times of sorrow, keeps you company in times of loneliness, refreshes your heart in times of distress, gives you a reason to smile in times of need, I can go on and on... What better word do you think I should call this book if not miracle. |
Horus: @CrazyManCould you please provide valid bible passages to back up your claims. Horus: God only learns what has happened when he interrogates Eve. Then he acts. God also cannot determine where Abel happens to be after he has been slain by his brother. Again, he must gain his answers from Cain.Your ignorance is highly irritating. If God didn't know what happened to Abel why did he ask this...in Genesis 4:9-10 And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper? 10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground. Did God ever inquire about Abel from cain anywhere in the bible apart from that passage? At least common sense should make you understand that the question came as a result of the crime cain committed. God was aware that cain had murdered his brother...or have you forgotten the part where both of the offered sacrifices to God? God has been watching, and when cain struck, he called him to order. Cain's harsh reply in the passage I posted shows clearly that he was guilty of murdering his brother. Horus: God has to "look down" to see what is occurring in Shinar and he has to personally view the wickedness of man before destroying the cities of the plain. They were building a tower, and God came down and scattered it...(Genesis 11:1-9) What point are you trying to prove here? |
Logicboy03: 1) Your claim that the verse means that Cain was deluded into thinking that he went out of God's presence is nonsense! The verse states a physical place (Land of Nod) that Cain went and was out of God's presence. That quote was tied to a physical place therefore, it was talking about a God's physical presence (Which Cain moved out of)In Genesis 4:16...that passage spoke about cain leaving God's presence right? I would explain that passage properly to your understand... verse 16...“And (Cain) dwelt in the land of Nod... He left the fruitful land of Eden to make his permanent dwelling in the barren land of Nod. From my understanding of the bible, Nod is not an actual place but a figure of speech, based upon its definition, to describe the spiritual condition of Cain In a nutshell, we can term Nod as a place of wondering. If you feel I'm wrong, then provide another passage in the bible where that mysterious city was mentioned? The book of Jude explains cain's mystery much better...I hope it would be of help to you. Jude 1:11-13. Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. Logicboy03: 2) You say that a life without god is hopeless.God has a general love to all his creatures as he gives the rain, the sunshine to all. He is the creator of all mankind and we are told to love even our own enemies. So yes its very possible for bill gates and co to be successful even though they don't know God...how you may ask? The answer is that christ death and resurrection has united us with God... |
Logicboy03: The question now goes to christians-I'm a miracle accepting christian. Logicboy03: b) Is interpreting the bible without miracles and the supernatural a modern way of christianity? Yes...because once you take the miracles away from the bible, the bible becomes a casual story book. Most people simply because they're unable to uncover the mysteries surrounding the existence of miracles, refuse to believe that miracles exists. But little do they know that what makes the bible sacred, and why it has survived through thousands of generations is a very good proof that miracles exist...the bible itself is a miracle. |
This ESUTH again, last time NYSC rejected three of their graduates because they couldn't express themselves in plain english...now this. That school needs God's devine intervention. |
Horus: Interesting thread. The "God" of your bible is Not omnipresent.Ok...let me explain that passage much better to you, cos its obvious that you lack understanding. The self delusion of Cain’s own mind finally achieved what he thought he desired most – freedom from God. That is the desire of many today but as Cain realized, life without God is a life without hope. Cain thought that he could flee the justice of God. He was really deluded into thinking that he could leave the presence of God. The psalmist wrote about the futility of trying to flee from the God’s presence Psalm 139:7-10, Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. note that this psalm is also written concerning the personal covenant God name, LORD, Jehovah. Men cannot run from God for no matter where they go, He is there. The passage (psalm 139:7-10) is confirmed in the book of Johna...when the prophet Johna tried to flee from the presence of God. Johna 1:1-4. Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. 3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. 4 But the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken. I shall conclude with this...God is ominpresence. I would have agreed with the write up the op posted, but what he wrote sounded more like a mockery than a fact. God indeed is ominpresence. |
oluface: How many of those who do not believe in the existence of God knew they will be in this world someday. And how many of you know what will happen to u when you die. That is a prove that there is a supernatural being somewhere who regulate all the affairs on earth and every other place. Prove me wrongIf you want prove that God exists, all you have to do is ask...I've been here long enough to know that most atheist are very intelligent. You possibly cannot convince them of God's existence with that. |

CrazyMan: God was planing to test Job, and he knew that satan was the right man for the work, hence his boasting. |
The process of being born again isn't something that happens over night, its a gradual process. You can't declare openly that you've decided to follow Jesus today, and expect all you've done in the past to vanish...its not possible. You must feed your spirit man in order to grow...spend time with the word of God and I'm sure that gradually those feelings would subside and fad away. Good luck. |
seriallink: ^^^^@Crazyman,Nice of you to post it here. Now I would suggest that you read it a second time. God was planing to test Job, and he knew that satan was the right man for the work, hence his boasting. Satan is the accuser of the brethren. (Revelation 12:10) he brings up accusations against believers and tells God why they must be punished. God being holy cannot carry out the job himself, so he gives the contract to satan whom he feels would execute it much better. See this passage below... 1 kings 22:20-22. And the Lord said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth–gilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.21 And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will persuade him. 22 And the Lord said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so. seriallink: The above passage clearly shows that Satan moved the LORD against Job. I guess that was why Jesus said whenever we pray we should ask the LORD to lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil (Matthew 6:13).That's exactly why he's referred to as the accuser of the brethren in revelation 12:10. seriallink: Job's issue was a clear case of temptation, God let that happened because he knew Job would overcome it. The LORD fights His enemies (Satan and his servants - both humans and fallen angels) with His own weapons and not with the help of the Satan. You're wrong again my dear. There are times when God allows satan tempt man, and man fails. A typical example is the case of Adam. Psalm 34:7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. Now from the passage above, one would wonder how satan gained access into the garden of eden to tempt man which was created in the image and likeness of God, and had God's blessings and protection. The simple answer is that God permitted him...God wanted to know if indeed Adam really obeyed him, or adam was just answering him yes sir simply because he is God. Take a look at Jesus... philippians 2:10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; I would ask you...if satan doesn't work for God, what authority would he have to approach Jesus in Matthew 4:1-10. Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. 3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Let me enlighten you a bit, because I'm already perceiving your seeming ignorance. Satan took permission from God to tempt Jesus...cos without God's permission, satan won't have the power to come within 10 yards of Jesus presence. Hear his confession in verse 6...satan is aware that Jesus is surrounded by Angels, but for that moment during which the temptation occurred, Jesus was vulnerable. If you take your time to read the new testament properly, you'll find out that Jesus wasn't tempeted again by the devil. Which meant that his one and only temptation was masterminded by God and executed by satan. seriallink: Are you saying Satan did this:I'm not talking about war and battles...I'm talking about individual temptations. God gave the children of Israel victory over their enemies, because he loves them and has a sworn covenant with them. My argument isn't about battles, its about individuals...see this passage. Zechariah 3:1-4. And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.2 And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? 3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. 4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. Read this passage carefully, and compare it to Job's case, you'll find out that they're similar. The only difference is that God granted satan permission in the case of Job, and refused him in the case of Joshua. Satan works for God...and if you read your bible properly, you'll agree with me. Peace. |
With the restriction of okada on some routes and the worsening fuel scarcity in Lagos State, many Lagosians who were stranded trekked to their destinations on Wednesday.http://www.punchng.com/news/lagosians-trek-as-okada-ban-fuel-scarcity-bite-harder/ |
seriallink: Are you saying this :That evil is satan. And God uses him to punish backsliding believers. seriallink: Btw, I never said God is evil! Check my post again. The Devil doesn't work for God~! The Lord knows everything. If the devil doesn't work for God, why did God grant him permission to test Job? |
If the devil doesn't work for God, then explain Job 2-3. |
berem: So where the fake army officer na? Mtscheeew! That was what I was about to say... |
seriallink: I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all things :- Isaiah 45:7Your wrong my dear...God is to holy to behold iniquity. Satan is just a creature God uses to accomplish certain tasks...read your bible properly. |
