ogbeche77: We need more than 50% of the active posters on this section to show there interest before any debate or discussion can be termed a 'success', you have to consider that the level of traffic we get here is less compared to other section where they have the bi-weekly debate, but what I was agitating for was just a thread where ex corp members ll come in to advice and share there success story for both current & prospective corp member.... The thread ll only get attention from this gurus when it on the front page, what's your take?Congrats, it has finally made the front page. Let's hope for more traffic in this section. |

Nice debate so far... ![]() |
freecocoa: She saying the police asked them to burn the boys alive doesn't mean they brought the idea, the boys were about being burnt and the police agreed with the crowd that they be burnt, its that simple.Do you have any proof? I gave up believing stories from this incident because each story counters the next one. First the story was that they were caught around 3am in the morning. Then it became 5am. Then another story claimed that they went to collect money from someone who owed them... The story contradicted itself when it claimed that the (the students) were cultists. As time passed by, the government and the senate became interested in the matter...the cultisim issue was dropped. The students began to protest (one would wonder what took them so long) The story took another shape. People said they were innocent, people said they were guilty (we're yet to find the exact truth) The families and sympathizers started looking for people to blame. They blamed the village chief for supporting the execution (I would agree with them...the chief should be arrested) They blamed the police for not responding quickly, later they said they were there but had no bullets in their guns. Now they're saying the police gave them (the villagers) the go ahead on the lynching of the students. I believe we're adults, and I believe we all want justice for the slain students. But dragging the name of the police force who are working tirelessly to ensure that they (the dead students) get justice isn't the right way to go about it. |
ghettodreamz: See judgementIts not about following another man's flow, its about doing what is right. This is human life we're talking about not animals. What kind of fear would make you watch in silence while your blood brother is being murdered like an animal? I think its you who ought to get realistic here. |
freecocoa: You expect them to tell you they did? The fact that they accept they came there has proven what the lady said to be true, how could they have not been able to disperse the crowd? Menh if you have had an encounter with the Nigerian police, you'd know better.Let's stick to the topic. The sister said the police told the mob to lynch her brother...from what you're saying, and from what you read, its obvious that her story is false. This has nothing to do with me having an encounter with them (police). She lied period! |
freecocoa: You are wrong mister, the NPF is capable of anything, its been confirmed by many people that the police indeed came there, that one even hit the boys with his gun saying " you go thief abi" and then left, didn't you read the statement by the policemen there on that day? Their excuse is that they didn't have sufficient bullet. But the report you read didn't say they (the police) told the mob to lynch the students did it? |
Horus: I think you didnt bother to read the article. The barbaric mob said: That I should run for my life that I would be the next one, fifth person.”That's not an excuse. I cannot watch you murder my brother before my eyes. She also should be blamed. I would agree with okija_juju...
My guy.. Go and rewatched that video.. Listen in the background.. People were begging them to stop.. If she made a scene.. Shouting help.. Police.. He is a student.. Even strip herself butt naked swearing as she can, maybe.. maybe.. it might have been different.. The scene of that crime didnt look like were even a single frined of theirs was at let alone a blood related sister..
If she had created a scene, she might have saved them. |
Horus: The Police is as guilty as the killer, they came, they watched and they run away like coward instead of doing their duty. They should have investigated.Don't make accusations you aren't sure of. That was the sister's story. It has so many question marks on it...I still don't believe that a Nigerian police would give a village mob the green light to lynch a human being. Its not possible. |
The thing is...during an execution of a thief, there is this demon that seems to possess people. Everyone present in act are like...kill kill kill...no mercy no sympathy...and no one there would even bother to object such an act. Maybe its because anyone who doesn't seem to agree with their decision (killing of an alleged thief) could be seriously dealt with. I think our government needs to give our youths proper education. Orientation 101 (steps on how to hand over a thief to the right authorities) would be a good start. |
