If I love her why not...we're all capable of making mistakes...no one is perfect. |
Does you sister complain about her...or are you just the only one feeling disgusted about her obsession towards your sister? |
Goshen360 sounds like buzugee has anyone noticed that...come this guy, hiow many IDs do you have. ![]() |
Nigerians
Seconded |
Can we use our native dialet to contribute...cos I've got some here. Eze udo Mmalite "nnor" gugu Chukwu mbe "o" chie Odiga agbwa agbanw Chukwu amami ife |
Goshen360: Just like Jesus puzzled his disciples with the question of who do men say I am? I'll to puzzle with the opening question on when the church of God actually began......some say at Pentecost BUT the bible proves others. A winning prize ofYour reward package is a fraud...therefore I reserve further comment on this thread, pending when a more reasonable price comes up. |
Delafruita: just askingForm the knowledge I have of the bible...I don't think so. However I you feel otherwise, feel free to share your views, and I'm sure we would be glad to be enlightened. |
obadiah777:Yea I agree with you...she's definately making it up. |
mkmyers45: From our long term contentions on this forum i besiege you to come and hence show us that which is absolutely true and since you claim privy to such knowledge...I indulge you to come and in plain words show us the truth in relation to the christian God and his wordBefore truthislight, myself or any other christian brother begins attempting your questions...you must agree to our terms and conditions. 1. NO VERBAL DIARRHEA. AS MOST OF YOU ARE FOND OF THIS...IF YOU USE PROFANITY OR BELITTLE OTHERS, YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY DEEMED A slowpoke UNQUALIFIED TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS HONESTLY. EVERY PARTICIPANT VISITING THIS PAGE IS WORTHY OF YOUR RESPECT. DO YOUR INTELLIGENCE A FAVOR AND ABSTAIN FROM TREATING THOSE WITH OPPOSING VIEWS LIKE TRASH. 2. NO CHEATING OR CHANGING THE SUBJECT. ANSWERING QUESTIONS WITH QUESTIONS, CHANGING THE SUBJECT, STRAW MAN ARGUMENTS, ETC., ARE JUST ANOTHER WAY TO AVOID THE QUESTION AND FLAUNT YOUR SARCASM. BE DIRECT, STAY ON TOPIC, AND ANSWER THE QUESTION... IF YOU CAN. 3. BE INTELLECTUALLY HONEST. FACTS ARE FACTS, TRUTH IS TRUTH, THEORY IS THEORY, OPINIONS ARE OPINIONS AND THOUGHTS ARE THOUGHTS. IF YOU DON'T KNOW, YOU DON'T KNOW. TELL IT LIKE IT IS. IF THERE IS NO PROOF THAT MAN HAS EVOLVED FROM A MONKEY, THAT MAN IS STILL EVOLVING, THAT THE BIG BANG THEORY IS TRUE, OR THAT THERE ARE ALIENS WITH GREATER INTELLIGENCE LIVING OUTSIDE OUR SOLAR SYSTEM, DON'T STATE IT AS FACT. INSTEAD, CALL IT YOUR BELIEF, THEORY, ASSUMPTION, OR THOUGHT. (IE: "I THINK..." OR "MY THEORY IS..." 4. IT SHOULD BE UNDERSTOOD THAT BIBLICAL REFERENCES ARE NOT UNQUALIFIED AS RELEVANT ARGUMENTS SIMPLY BECAUSE ATHEISTS DON'T BELIEVE IT IS A RELIABLE SOURCE OF INFORMATION. BOTH CHRISTIANS AND ATHEISTS ALIKE BASE AT LEAST SOME OF THEIR BELIEFS ON PAST EVENTS OR THE WORDS OF SOMEONE ELSE, WHETHER SUPPORTED BY OBSERVABLE EFFECTS OR NOT. PLEASE PROVIDE REFERENCES AND SOURCES THAT SUPPORT YOUR STATEMENTS. WHEN QUOTING SOMEONE ELSE, 5. IF GOD IS LOGICALY PROVEN TO YOU IN THE COURSE OF THIS DEBATE, WOULD YOU DEEM HIM WORTHY OF YOUR PRAISE? FINALLY... 6. YOU MUST COME OUT PLAILY AND TELL US WHAT YOU WANT...THE QUESTION YOU ASKED ON THE HOME PAGE IS QUITE DIFFERENT FROM WHAT YOU'RE ASKING NOW. I WOULD LIKEN THAT TO CONFUSION ON YOUR PART...THIS IS NOT A JAMB EXAMINATION, NEITHER CAN IT BE LIKENED TO A JOB INTERVIEW SENERIO...THEREFORE YOU MUST BE CLEAR ON YOUR QUESTION BEFORE ANY ANSWER WOULD BE PROVIDED. Answer this and we're good to go. |
Delafruita: am i allowed to comment? You're still on ban remember? So no comments till further notice ![]() |
Sweetnecta: Impossible unless you have proofs. Islam is the religion of Noah our second common father, Adam [as] who was also a muslim being the first.Naoh a muslim? Could you please shed more light on this issue...cos I'm totally lost here. |
I love this write up |
i have seen this on many occassions. the last one i saw as when i went on a business visit to India and a tribal friend of mine informed me about this rain ritual. so i went there in a day-long journey and i wtnessed this act where they marry 2 frogs to each other as part of the ritual and they sacrifice animals (fowl birds to be precise) and do some chanting, mostly involving apeasement of Spiritual forces and pleas f forgiveness. and it did rain the next day in showers. another one was the Kilumi rain ritual near Embu Kenya which is much more complex than the one done by these Indian tribals. this one i more structured and there are more elements in it.
That still doesn't prove that the rain came as a result of the rituals performed by those uneducated bush people. My questions... 1. What was the weather report in the area before the ritual? 2. Was the ritual performed during rainy season, if yes, then its a folly. 3. Did they predict the exact time (clock time e.g it would rain 2pm) the rain would fall the following day? If no, then I'm afraid you were fooled. |
Uncanny Genius: Why I said that is because an acquaintance of mine wanted to marry a Catholic lady, her parents refused just because he's an Anglican. They asked him to convert to Catholicism t before he can marry her. I've witnessed such things many times. They are too self-righteous for my liking when they are one of the worst sinners on earth. That's why Jesus brought you into that family...he wants you to reflect his presence there. He wants you accept them and not complain like how you're doing right now. If you claim to be a christian, then you should know that its very wrong to judge and write off people...rather, convince them and make them understand that what they practice isn't scriptural. And I'm sure that with time they would understanding and repent for their errors. |
Callotti: Located here on Earth and no where else.Your post is beginning to irritate me on this forum...why do you choose to make a mockery of christianity in every post you make on this section? Other Atheist only make objections on areas they find contradictions...but yours is different. If you have no answers to render kindly leave the thread...its very wrong to continually make a joke of other peoples beliefs...I'm sure you're matured enough to know that. |
if done in the right ritual and context, a rain can be brought about by influencing the Spiritual Forces. it is very common in Traditional Religions all over the world. i have bor witness on many such occassion.
Really? Where exactly did that happen I'd like to know. |
The Phrase "ISLAM is a peaceful religion" reminds me of the popular Nigerian Sayings "Police is your friend"..."Bail is free".i tire for this people jare. i no know why blood dey always hungry dis people sef. If they want they can tear the whole bibles in Egypt, it won't stop christians from worshiping God...instead the world would see them for what they really are. |
I think it all goes back to your motive...why are you questioning God? If it is simply because you are trying to stall your obedience to the Lord, then you had best quit. If its coming from a prideful heart that says I know better than God...hence your questioning, then you're wrong to question. If you question God's authority, then that too is an incorrect behavior on your part...because the lord said we shouldn't question his authority. If, however, you question because you desperately want to know the answer, because you desperately want to know who the Lord truly is, because you need to see the light in the midst of your own confusion, then I believe it is appropriate. |
Harjibode: Pls...What Is Te Average Weight To Be Met Cos The Last Time I Checked I Am 82I think the average weight there should be around 70-75kg...therefore I would suggest that you loose some weight. You can also try early morning jogging...you won't know the importance of it until you get there. But the main criteria that they would look at during your screening wouldn't be your weight they would check if you're physically medically fit...and also, your height, which must not be less that 1.68m...that should be about 5feet 6 inches. Anything less than that, you would be sent home. |
ayobase: SWEETMAN!....he aint a boy...na only man fit comment like that! ![]() |
ITbomb: YOUR END IS NEARDon't tell me you have plans to plow with my heifer ![]() |
kaytytty: ve u christians gone to check the stats to know ur population in the birth place of your God.just 2.5percent of u in BETHLEHEM the birth place of ur godwhat baseless and fact-less theory are you trying to prove here if I may ask? |

ayobase: Based on mine views;I guess I'm not the only one who noticed that...very nice of you to bring it up. ayobase: -Dumb and Over-flogged topics popping up...does it mean that there are/is nothing to talk about again...NO INITIATIVES?Here I would disagree with you...because as more topics are being trashed, old members who were part of the discussion tend to leave, and new members who did not partake in the trashed discussion would definitely want to be enlightened on that same issue should it become a burden to them. A typical example is tithing (Religion Section) I've noticed that this particular topic has been over flogged on NL...yet new members keep on bringing it up, most old member sigh in disgust (I won't blame them though) because they've exhausted all their intelligence discussing it in the past. So just smile whenever you see this kind of issue. Because a long as Nairaland still accommodates new members, you would never get rid of old and over thrashed issues being brought up. ayobase: Should we create more Sections?I wouldn't second that...because creating a new section wouldn't solve the problem. It would just be like what we're experiencing here on NL and we would be right back were we began. ayobase: People running down threads for making the front page......Why cant we contribute to threads for the fun of it.You should know that not everybody has the capacity to reply a post...but everyone wants to post. When you come across such posts just ignore it because the poster is probably looking for cheap popularity. ayobase: Seun and SexKillz busy 'Killz''ing the forum with bannings...those that did juice threads with GARRI Humour have been banned and sent off, while the.......In as much as I don't welcome their dictatorship attitude, I won't reprimand them for it. Nairaland has become a very lousy market...so in order to maintain the quality of the forum, and to ensure that the integrity as well as opinions from other members are treated with respect, one has to get tough with the "area boys" or else NL would become a shadow of itself. |
Harjibode: OnTheOtherHand....do they release only admitted candidates result or all result b4 admission listNo...they release all results just like the normal university system. Usually, the exam is written around February, and the results comes out around...April. Then they short list the successful ones...the then short listed successful candidates would then proceed further for an interview, screening, and physical clearance. Its during this stage that your height, your weight, your medical records, your Nationality, if you have any criminal record, the originality of your "O" level results etc...would be thoroughly checked. During this stage over 65% of those that were short listed would be dropped due to one reason or the other. The remaining candidates who successfully scale through this stage would become bonafide cadets of the NDA. But you must note that even as a cadet, you haven't totally escaped the elimination process. Elimination and expulsion would keep on tormenting you until the day you graduate and become a 2nd lieutenant of the Nigerian Army...believe me that would be the happiest day of your life. |
First, I must congratulate you on your admission... Now to your question... Civil Engineering from my perspective, is the oldest branch of the engineering profession. its goes as far back as the bible age...construction of pyramids (Egypt) even the tower of babel (if I can remember correctly) are clearly the works of civil engineering. Also Civil Engineering is a broad field that deals with a wide variety of projects. Therefore it covers basically all forms of other engineering courses... Now as fresh man, I would list down possible courses which you're likely to encounter in your journey to become a successful civil engineer. 1. Highways and Transportation Engineering: This can be defined as the study of design and maintenance of the structural facilities involved in the movement of people and cargo from place to place...as an intending civil engineering student, this particular topic would enable you understand the basics of the course (Civil Engineering). 2. Water Resources Engineering: To become a successful Civil Engineer, you must familiarize yourself with natures most affordable gift...water. In this topic you would learn about harnessing water, transportation and storage of water for development of domestic use, recreation and amenity facilities or uses etc... 3. Sanitary Engineering: As a Civil Engineer, you would also be taught about sanitation...a topic which I believe we Nigerians need most...now this topic I above, deals with the problems of proving safe and adequate water supply both for domestic and industrial use, controlling and preventing air and water pollution, and collection, treatment and disposing of all types of domestic and industrial wastes etc... 4. Structural Engineering: Wao...now you're entering into heart of civil engineering. You've got be serious here. Usually, this topic begins from your 300l, when you must have PASSED all necessary and borrowed courses. In this particular topic, you would be taught the analysis design and construction of all types of structures such as buildings, bridges, storage tanks, dams and electric power transmission towers...very interesting topic if you ask me. 5. Foundation Engineering: Also a crucial topic which you must pay attention to...this undertakes the study of ways and means of using soil as a material of construction. 6. Construction Engineering: Another tactical course if you ask me...its concerned with the process of developing efficient and economic methods of construction operations such as earth moving and erection procedures. Good luck. |
