Harjibode: I Am A Guy Wit Some Fat Dont Knw If That Will Hinder My Being Admitted...HollaASAP
My dear loose some of your fatness.

Their screening is very strict...a typical NDA admission list shows not more than 6 and not less than 2 people from each state.

What I mean is that if 150 people from Anambra state purchase the form and sit for the exam, only about 3 or 4 would be admitted...and that's how it would be for all the 36 states across the federation, until they get their desired number of successful candidates.

Its really very difficult.

So work on yourself properly so as to avoid unnecessary disqualification.

Good luck.

Semester on the other hand is just half of a session.

When you spend more time in the university I believe it would be much clearer to you.

plaetton: I have no idea of what you are talking about. Further clarification of what?
plaetton: As for the above passage in red. Where does it say that the woman in question was mary Magdalene?
I meant further clarification of the above quote.

plaetton: The gospels did not say that jesus mas married, neither did they say that he was not. what we are left with are anectodal evidence that point to the fact it would have been impossible for him not to have been married.
Look at the bolded and you'll agree with me that you've answered your own initial question.

plaetton: Looking at it from a non scriptural vantage point, that is clearly what I see.Given the history of selection, revisions, editing and redacting that has characterized the bible over the two millenia, I am inclined to suspect that many parts of jesus life, especially his family life, have been deliberately taken out of the scriptures , first, in order validate or not to diminish the divinity of Jesus, and second, in order to accept the church of rome as the sole heir of the apostolic authority of jesus.
This is a very bold claim...do you have any evidence to back up your claim or is this just an assumption?

plaetton: What am saying has nothing to do with your davinci code. I only made reference to in response to another poster.

I have not read the book but I saw the movie and thee was no reference to mary magdalene in the movie.

As for the above passage in red. Where does it say that the woman in question was mary Magdalene?
The four gospel books all have similar account of Jesus.

Though some might not really specify characters the way you feel the should do...however, if you take your time to look at it properly, you would notice that they all point towards the same direction.

Open your bible for further clarification. I can't start posting the Mary account according to four books (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) here.
Christianity EtcRe: Was Jesus, Or Could Jesus Have Been Married? by CrazyMan(m): 5:39pm On Sep 15, 2012
plaetton: First, remember that those who arrogated to the apostolic authority to the church of rome also edited and redacted the gospels to suit their agendas.Agendas that became more political than religious.
Are you referring to the Da Vinci Code?

You must understand that The Da Vinci Code significantly misrepresents Mary Magdalene.

When people don't respect the Bible, they rarely study it carefully. As a result, almost invariably they misunderstand and misuse it. This is the case with Brown of The Da Vinci Code.

If you have other theories about Jesus being married, prove it.

plaetton: Mary magdalene was not a LovePeddler. She was deliberately maligned in order to obsfuscate the very issue that were are currently discussing.
She was headache for the early church fathers. Calling her a LovePeddler was a smart and convenient way to get her role and importance out of the way.
Interesting...but she didn't hold any high moral..the bible referred to her as a sinner whom Jesus casted seven demons from. Now tell me...can Jesus marry such a woman? Jesus saw her a frustrated and troubled woman who needed help that's all.

plaetton: now ask yourself, how and why, in those days, a poor LovePeddler would obtain very expensive oil to annoint jesus? What would have been the purpose of the so-called annoitment and what power of grace did she have to annoint anyone.
Where she got the money to purchase the oil is relevant...the lesson here is that she was obsessed with Jesus. I don't need to begin explaining the power of obsession.

A person possessed by the spirit of obsession is capable of anything. Provided it brings satisfaction to whatever their heart desires.

plaetton: Ask youself, could the annointing with expensive oil have been some kind of rite or ritual, perhaps a marriage rite?
Ask yourself again, how possible it would have been for an umarried lady to have been allowed to follow jesus and his entourage everywhere.
Let me put the passage for you...its obvious you don't really understand it.

[Luke 7:37-50.  And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, 38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. 39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner. 40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on. 41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. 42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? 43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged. 44 And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. 45 Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. 46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. 47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. 48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. 49 And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? 50 And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

Take your time to read it, and I believe you'll understand that story much better.

plaetton: In the gospel of John, there are numerous references to " the disciple whom Jesus loved".
So you think Jesus was just too busy to love? Too busy to eat and sleep too?
its obvious John was Jesus most loved disciple...if you take your time to read the bible properly, you'll see that John accompanied Jesus in almost everywhere he went. The bible also referred to him as John the beloved...or the disciple whom Jesus loved
Christianity EtcRe: Can You Arrange These In Your Own Personal Order Of Priority As A Believer by CrazyMan(m): 4:46pm On Sep 15, 2012
Here's mine from my own perspective...

4. Church attendance: this would bring you close to God, it would make see the need to serve him.

1. After becoming acquainted with the sermons you've heard in church, you now begin your personal bible study.

2. In the course of your personal bible study, you would learn from the scriptures that prayer is way of communicating with God. So automatically, prayer follows.

3. Tithes and offering: also in the course of your personal bible study and prayer, you learn about giving...so I believe this should follow.

5. Now you're deeply rooted in the scriptures, you do your personal quiet time, you pray, and you pay your tithes...I believe you're fully ripe for evangelism. So this should come last.
Christianity EtcRe: Was Jesus, Or Could Jesus Have Been Married? by CrazyMan(m): 4:25pm On Sep 15, 2012
cyrexx: Some people are pointing to Mary Magdalene as being more than just an apostle. Probably his wife. Nobody knows for sure anymore since all other gospels that contradicts the canon were destroyed as only four are endorsed by the Nicene council.
As s side note, im curious about the Gospel of Mary (Magdalene) and i will love to read it if i have the chance.8-)
I don't think that Mary Magdalene was Jesus wife...they were close, yes but wife...no.

In case you didn't notice, Mary was no more than a reformed p^rostitute who became a Jesus fanatic. She was the one who was obsessed with Jesus. Her obsession grew so big that it had to make she lavish an expensive oil on him.

Now ponder this...when she bathed the expensive oil on Jesus, what was his comment?

If you take your time to read the bible carefully, you'll agree with me that their speculated love was a just one sided affair. Jesus never made any suspicious reference or romantic speech to her in all his teachings, neither did the bible record them spending time together.

And like k2039 stated earlier, he was busy traveling from one city to another doing his father's work.

So there was no way he could have gotten married.

hotwax: A̶̲̥̅ question for you: did american government release this film or some religion nutjobs?
Why attacking american government. This is A̶̲̥̅ planned work of these so-called muslims.

This video has been on youTube for the past three months. Why did they choose 9/11 to protest against it.
Is it the only video on youtube criticizing Muhammad?
Are there no xtian versions of those videos? Did any xtian killed anyone bcuz of it?

Muslims just pick A̶̲̥̅ fight unreasonably. And its tarnishes their imnage more.
Exactly what I've been trying to prove here...the religion looks so weird, confusing and very difficult to understand.

America from what I know condemns such reckless and extreme utilization of freedom of expression to disparage others religion. Infact America as we all know has given them more than enough human rights. They have the freedom of practicing their religion on a foreign soil without anyone infringing on their rights.

What now annoys me is them rising up in arms and killing innocent and defenseless people all for a movie. Haba...is that scriptural? Is it what their koran teaches them?

I'm a christian. And to every believer, (either muslim or christian) faith in God teaches that it is the province of God to fight and defend His people and not the other way round.

What he commands us is to love one another and be our brother's keeper; and leave judgment and reprisals for Him. To this extent what our Moslems brothers do at the slightest perception of affront to their religion boggles the mind and somehow bothers on ignorance.

When I was in high school and we were taught religious studies, we were told Islam means peace So where do these savages parading as fanatics of the Islamic faith draw their warped knowledge from? I do believe that after committing all the horrendous and heinous acts on earth against God's creation, the only place that will be reserved for them hereafter will be eternal hell fire... their acts are of the devil and not sanctioned by any religion that is founded on Godly ideals.

I'm sorry if I sounded harsh but its the truth.
PoliticsRe: US Temporarily Closes Embassy In Nigeria by CrazyMan(m): 12:42pm On Sep 15, 2012
My beloved Nairaland muslims, and the muslim world in general I would advise that you emulate the brotherly attitude of indonesia muslims. To be honest, if all muslims in world were like them, islam would a religion to be reckoned with.

Indonesia from what I've discovered has one of the largest Muslim populations on earth: close to 300Million, yet we never hear them protest about cartoons, films or form terrorist cells to attack other non muslim countries in the world.

We never hear of Sunni, Shia Al Queda or even our own Boko Haram militias killing and bombing people there. So I ask, are Indonesians not true adherents to the islamic faith or have they attained a maturity that far outweighs those who turn to violence at the slightest provocation?

Why do we keep experiencing this kind of unnecessary violence and bloodshead all the time...why can't they learn? Why can't they get educated for once and learn to value human life?

Please muslims I need answers...
PoliticsRe: US Temporarily Closes Embassy In Nigeria by CrazyMan(m): 9:56am On Sep 15, 2012
Oh! Now they've succeeded in making Americans close their embassy in Nigeria...I wonder what would be next.

What I don't understand is that if they (muslims) know that the video is false, and that everything it portrayed about Muhammad is also false.

Then why take it so serious and personal as if islam is one huge secrete they're trying to protect. Why do they have this attitude of killing people who attempts to expose any kind of information pertaining to islam?

Assuming I want to become a muslim today, shouldn't I be allowed to ask questions? Shouldn't I be made to understand the origin of islam? Should I be made to believe anything I'm being told without leaving the floor open for possible debates and arguments? Does forcing people into islam instead of convincing them sound like a good option to their leaders?

What I expected the muslim leaders to do was to enlighten the world on that video...prove to us that the movie is a fraud and that everything portrayed about Muhammad is false. Rioting and killing innocent people would only make intending muslims develop second thoughts about islam...they (their leaders) should know this.

On the issue of federal roads, I would score Nigeria above average...because most of the federal roads I ply through are ok.

Also I would suggest that we adopt the habit of maintaining the already good ones we have, so that our budget can be targeted at expanding and constructing new ones.

A quick look at the issue of the benin-ore road, and you would agree with me that its an example of poor maintenance. For the past six or seven years, the government has spent billions on that road. And sadly, they're yet to make it free from pot holes.

But I believe we can improve. And I must commend the government on their efforts so far on federal roads.

Finally, if the minister is promising us better roads by 2013, then let's believe him, and pray he keeps to his promises.
Christianity EtcRe: Praying Unclad..........................what Is The Spiritual Significance? by CrazyMan(m): 6:57am On Sep 15, 2012
Prayer is a way of communicating with God. Therefore, God doesn't bother about your outward appearance whenever you're in his presence...he looks at your heart. So whether you're n^aked or you put on 100 clothes, if your heart isn't right with him, he still won't answer you.

About the spiritually significance...well I won't totally condemn being n^aked for God as madness cos if you take a good look at the scriptures, king David was partially naked before the whole isrealites.

2 Samuel 6:14-23. 15 while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the LORD with shouts and the sound of trumpets.

16 As the ark of the LORD was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, she despised him in her heart.

17 They brought the ark of the LORD and set it in its place inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and David sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before the LORD. 18 After he had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD Almighty. 19 Then he gave a loaf of bread, a cake of dates and a cake of raisins to each person in the whole crowd of Israelites, both men and women. And all the people went to their homes.

20 When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, "How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, going around half-naked in full view of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!"

21 David said to Michal, "It was before the LORD, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the LORD's people Israel—I will celebrate before the LORD. 22 I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor."

23 And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.

Here David who was almost n^aked danced in front of the whole congregation to worship God. You saw the punishment God gave to Saul's daughter for making fun of david.

Therefore avoid condemning your friend cos it could be that he n^aked himself before God as a symbol of his spiritual emptiness...and wants God to fill him. And if you keep making fun of him, God might get angry and decide to punish you like he did to Saul's daughter.

But I pray that it wouldn't be your portion in Jesus name.

I won't blame you atheist! Since you've refused to accept the fact that God exist, then allow those of us who believe he does worship him.

If you really feel that God doesn't exist, then why argue and convince people and especially yourself that there is no God when you know there is no God? Are you not being a hypocrite.

I mean look at it this way...why would you spend your whole life convincing someone that a chalk board is black when you already know its black. If you're fully convinced that God doesn't exist, why waste your time with christians?

MBJ replies: "US president Franklin Roosevelt, US president JF Kennedy, Princess Stephanie of Monaco, UK prime minister and nobel prize winner Winston Churchill, Thomas Edison (the reason why you probably have light today), King George V.

Crazyman sees he is cornered therefore asks MBJ:"if I may ask, do Nigeria and America have the same culture? Do we share the same ethnic background?"

MBJ understand that you are changing your stand and not talking about market surveys anymore so MBJ gives you a lecture on African culture and tattoos.

Crazyman then has the audacity to say:"And you're a #"¤%&" for changing the context of this argument.Did I ask you to point out tattoo on african culture?

so MBJ posts back the question Crazyman asked TO SHOW HIM WHAT HE (Crazyman) posted earlier...........and Crazyman thinks MBJ is asking him the question. LWKMD!!!!!

we can all understand and conclude that Crazyman is delusional as he even forgets the questions he asked on this thread. first his reasoning was market survey and responsible people, then he suddenly changes his stand and starts talking about culture.... and when I MBJ educate him on African culture and tattoos, he turns around and say I MBJ changed the subject, BWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!! insanity at its highest level!
People please help me judge.

And see what the brainless animal replied.

MRbrownJ: again i can see that you are one of the sheep that value your life with what others do or think.......very sad state of mind indeed!
but since you are clueless about tattoo let me give you a few names:

Mr sheep, stay there dey follow follow, lol!

Nairalanders, please tell me, does this fools reply have any thing to do with the question I asked him

Take a look at these also...

MRbrownJ: you first mistake is to believe that having a tattoo is NOT going to bring a positive change to a person's life.....wrong! there are many people, who feel much better about themselves, after having that said tattoo

CrazyMan: Can you mention at least five people whom you know tattoo has brought a positive change in their life or are you just making this up to try to wriggle yourself out of my question?

MRbrownJ: again, WHO CARES how what or why people have tattoos?! if a person decide to have one, then thats their life. why are you trying to force people to live YOUR miserable and copy-copy/follow-follow life?!

Now watch how the coward contradicts himself...he makes a claim, I ask him to prove it, tel tells me who cares...

Now who is the fool here?

destinedtee: It is surprising that sometimes sisters delay their response to proposals. What could be responsible for this action?
Yea this is very true...most girls prefer to keep guy on their pending list in when a marriage proposal is made.

The possible reasons are...

1. She is yet to make up her mind on that relationship.

2. She has another lover who she's also in love with.

3. She believes from what she has seen so far from you, you're not ready for marriage. Her reasons could be financial, maturity, lack of commitment, infidelity etc...

4. She needs some time to sort out some family issues.

5. She's waiting to hear from God if you're truly the one for her.

destinedtee: ?In a case where the brother has waited for about two months or more and they both have a cordial friendship but the sister is yet to give a YES ,what do you advise him to do
Sit her down and inquire from her why she refused your proposal.

destinedtee: Is it advisable for him to withdraw his proposal or just keep waiting
If after inquiring from her the reason why she didn't accept your proposal...if her reason sounds acceptable to you, then you can wait. If it doesn't, the it would be advisable for you to call it off.

destinedtee: How long does he have to wait?
Can't really give you a specific time frame here...it all depends on how urgent you want answers from her.

Good luck.

I believe the disciple Jesus loved was John...that's why the bible referred to him as John the beloved.

As for the sex...I would go with male cos according to the bible, John is a male.

As for the category of love, I believe it was platonic love. Jesus never had sex with anyone in the bible...hence my decision to go with platonic love.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do You Go To Church (Options) ? by CrazyMan(m): 6:11pm On Sep 14, 2012
I go to church because my bible tells me to do so.

Take a look at this passage...

Hebrews 10:25.  not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

From that passage above we can see clearly that God doesn't want us to forsake the habit of meeting together.

The Bible, as stated above instructs us to be in relationship with other believers. If we are part of Christ's body, we will recognize our need to fit into the body of believers.

The church is the place where we come together to encourage one another as members of Christ's body. So that together we shall fulfill an important purpose on the Earth.

Also take a look at this other passage below.

Romans 12:5. ...so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
Here we can see that going to church is actually for our own good.

God want us in fellowship with other believers as stated in the first passage I put up. Therefore we need each other to grow up in the faith, to learn to serve, to love one another, and to practice forgiveness. And the only way to achieve all those given task is by going to church.

Finally,

For christians who are gradually giving the habit of going to church...you must know that when you give up on attending church, your spiritual life becomes at stake...why if you may ask?

It makes your body becomes dis united from the spirit of God. You become very confused about the doctrine of christ, you begin to doubt christ existence etc...this is because your spirit in suffering from spiritual malnutrition. And when you begin experiencing this signs, know that you're disconnected from the body of Christ.

Therefore the only way to cure yourself of this spiritual disease, is by going to church.
