Pastor Kun: Fellow hypocrite if someone had passed a comment that they are a very good church, would that person also be guilty of judging them huh I was asked my take and I answered based on my clear understanding of the gospel. Fact remains their teachings and practises don't conform to the teachings of christ.

danwo: What "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one." means literally is "Hear, O Israel: The OWNER our God, the OWNER is one."

One God.

One God just as there is One Obadiah777. One frosbel. One Pastor Kun.

Hmm not exactly One Obadiah777 or One Pastor Kun. There could be another metamorphosis smiley

Maybe One Buzugee. One KunleOshob though.

The Lord thy God is one and that God is a Spirit

God is infinite. It is demeaning boxing God up

Frosbel the son

Frosbel the father

Frosbel the husband

Frosbel the CEO

Frosbel the Nairaland poster

Frosbel the uncle

Frosbel the IT guru

Frosbel the etcetera

Frosbel the <any other personality of his I am yet to know or be familiar with . . .>

Frosbel - Same person, but different display or occurrence of distinctive characters at particular or certain instances or period of his life

In this case the display or occurrences could be a combination operating at the same time or period

Adam knew God as God, Abraham knew God as Friend, Peter knew God as the Son, we know God as Father.

Unlike man, nothing is impossible for God,

It is not unimaginable that God can be in two places (i.e. more than one place) at the same time.

God could be in heaven and also be on earth at the same time (i.e. God the Father & God the Son) albeit within reasons and/or purpose.

The LORD our God, the LORD is one.

PS: Where is the Poll
My goodness you must be another comedian in the house grin
Christianity EtcRe: The Pink Unicorn Argument Against Religion by CrazyMan(m):
Evil Brain: Atheists ask for proof because they want to know the truth.
With the way you guys sound here on Nairaland, its very obvious that you already know the truth...so if I may ask, what other truth are you guys seeking for?

Evil Brain: We don't dismiss your beliefs about Jesus out of hand because we know there is a possibility that you are right.
Nope I won't agree with you...the childish way most of you rant insults and curses here gets me pissed of at times.

If you have an second thoughts towards the existence of Jesus, then feel free to ask questions and refrain from insults. That's how matured people behave.

That you don't believe in Jesus should give you any right to insult him or people who believe in him.

Evil Brain: But we are not going to just accept them without anything to back them up, hence the need for evidence.
What do you need evidence for...the bible is there for you to read. If you don't believe the bible then what other proof can a christian come up that would make any sense to you?

Evil Brain: Otherwise, how do we know your god is the correct one and not the Muslim or Guru Maharaji god? How do we know there's only one? How do we know the Hindus or Ifa worshippers aren't the ones who've gotten it right? How do we know there is a god at all?
That's what I posted earlier...everyone is entitled to their beliefs. You guys should respect that. If you choose not to believe in a religion, fine...but to go as far as challenging them for an unnecessary debate just to make a mockery of them is totally wrong.

Evil Brain: A real scientist never stops asking questions. The greatest insights can come from the least expected places. If a stopped clock can be right twice a day, so can a random nairalander.
True...but there are hundreds of questions that can be asked by them (scientist) so why point all your fingers on christianity as if God personally offended you.

Why spend all your time and resources just to prove the bible wrong? Since you already believe its false, why waste your time on it?

Evil Brain: Its only rude if your only intention is to troll and cause offense. If your intention is to share knowledge, teach and learn from others, there is nothing wrong with it.
Sadly, the reverse is the case.

If this section was purely for sharing and gaining knowledge, I wouldn't be complaining. Macdaddy, you (evil brain) and most atheist here run your mouth freely on christians. You'll come as wolves in sheeps clothing pretending to ask an innocent question.

When people give out their honest views, you would reply them with insults.

I see that as childishness...why must you insult someone's personality simply because his views is different from yours? That I disagree with you shouldn't give you the right to insult me or the God I worship.

If you guys want a clean debate that would be educative as you claimed, then you must learn to respect people's opinions.

Evil Brain: Its not madness if you have good reasons to believe that that Muslim is wasting his time and resources on a pointless endeavour. In fact, showing him the error of his ways is the good and decent thing to do. I'm sure we can all agree that religion is the cause of much suffering and misery. Where we differ is your belief that there is some benefit here or in the afterlife from being religious. If we know that to be untrue, is it really wrong for us to encourage people to abandon religion and use the time they have more productively?
Do you know that the most difficult part of business is minding your own...

Whatever God an individual chooses to serve is none of your business. If you feel he's wasting his/her time, then a little chat or debate would be ok.

But once he's clear to you about the path he has choosen, you must respect his decisions and refrain from further questions...cos any further issue raised on that same subject would only lead to unnecessary arguments which might end up in fisticuffs.

Evil Brain: I admit that atheists have dished out their share of insults here on Nairaland.
Good...so you guys got to learn some attitude here, cos we can't tolerate this any more.

Evil Brain: But this is largely a reaction to the insults that they themselves have received from religious people. I'm not saying that its right, I'm just giving an explanation. The other side is just as dirty as we are.
You provoke us and we react...

Isaac Newton's law even confirmed it..."For every action, there is an equal an opposite reaction"

Refrain from insults and this section would be the most educative on nairaland.

Evil Brain: Whether or not God exists is not a matter of opinion. Either he does or he doesn't. You cant say "he exists to me" and expect others to accept that because that is not a rational statement. If you say something irrational on Nairaland, you are going to be challenged. If you have a problem with that, maybe you should restrict yourself to reading christian books.
I'm not complaining about being challenged...I'm asking you guys to learn to respect people's beliefs, views and opinions...

If you must challenge someone, do it with the motive of learning from the person...not with pride and arrogance as most of you here behave. If you say we're here to learn, then prove it by your actions. Cos this attitude most of you display really gets me pissed off.

#next miracle
You've already made up your mind that miracles don't exist, so why seek for more proofs...its very obvious that even if all the christians here share their story with you, it won't change anything because your mind is already made up.

You've said it times without number that don't believe in religion, you don't believe in Jesus, you don't believe in God, christianity is a fraud bla bla bla...so why ask for proof? Why do you keep bothering Mr Anony? Why ask people to prove something you've already made up your mind to debunk? If christianity is a fraud what are you still doing here? Who are you trying to prove a point to?

You ask christians questions...and then you criticize them for the answers they give...if you're so wise and intelligent as you claim to be, why waste your time with uneducated characters on this forum?

I'm a christian for example,...don't you think it would be very foolish and rude for me to walk into the islam section an begin to demand answers to questions I know I won't believe no matter how hard they try to prove to me?

If I've chosen christianity, then don't you think it would be sheer madness spending my life to convince a muslim that he's on the wrong side of the road...he has a belief and I must respect that...

Also, that I'm a christian doesn't mean I would mock a buddhist or hindu for worshiping a cow.

It doesn't mean I would mock the jews for practicing judaism at this modern age...you should know that we have eyes, we have heads, we have brains...so do yourself a favour and respect other peoples beliefs...

Even world renowned atheists still respect other people's beliefs...they exhibited maturity and self respect...they don't expose their stupidity publicly.

If you were half intelligent as I thought you were, then you should know that everyone is entitled to his or her own opinions and beliefs...and because someone's own differs from yours shouldn't give you the right to make a mockery of it...if you say Jesus doesn't exist, fine. He didn't exist to you...but respect people who choose to believe that he existed.

To be successful in life, you must learn to respect people regardless of their tribe, their religion, their race...etc etc. The earlier you know this, the better it would be for you.

I rest my case.

Its obvious that most people start threads just for the fun of it...this argument has no basis.

Satan is a condemned creature...God's sufficient grace is for we humans as stated clearly in the bible. Therefore trying to bring a condemned creature like satan into that circle would be an act of sheer ignorance.

RomanceRe: Divorce and Us by CrazyMan(m): 1:47pm On Sep 21, 2012
fynejess: Is it just me or are divorces becoming quite rampant in Nigeria?
Yea I've noticed that too...its no longer news.

fynejess: These days, it is easy to see people contemplate leaving their marriages for one reason or the other. Does it mean that in the olden days, such things that cause divorces didn’t happen or just that people are becoming stronger by the day to say NO to unfair treatment?
Personally, I think one of the major reasons for the increase in the rate of divorce in Nigeria is a change in mindset.

Nigeria no doubt, it the most religious and ethnic country on this planet. Infact, there are times when I ask myself can one enjoy a decent marriage free from religion and ethnic beliefs in Nigeria...

Most Nigerians tend to be very traditional and religious these days...I've come across thousands of cases on daily bases, where a yourba man would forbid his daughter from getting married to and ibo lady and vice versa.

In the olden days, divorce was regarded as a taboo by traditional and religious standards.

But its very sad to note that in our days, the same religious and traditional laws that kept hundreds of marriages going, are the ones destroying marriages...as they have a way of giving a lukewarm treatment to people with different beliefs and culture.

Furthermore...civilization also plays another major role in Nigerian marriages.

Civilization has made most ladies realize their rights as women...their right to speak up, their right to dress the way they feel, their right to having a career, their right to owning their own properties...etc etc.

On their right to speak up...in the olden days, women don't speak up to their husbands. Infact, most of them kneel down when serving him...you can confirm this fact from your parents...lol

But in our days, civilization has given them (women) the right to speak up and challenge the authority of their husbands almost every now and then...most men, probably due to their arrogance, nonchalant attitude to the points the woman is trying to raise and pride, might see such action as rudeness on the part of the woman, thereby resulting in a physical assault or abuse on the woman...which eventually could lead to the end of such marriage.

Their right to dress the way the feel: I've come across hundreds of threads here on Nairaland in respect to this topic...most girls of our days feel that traditional dressing should be buried alongside their ancestors who invented them...I would have agreed with them, but the indecency of our modern day fashion, is a topic that needs to be properly addressed...

Most girls have lost eligible suitors as a result of their indecent dressing, and most women are on the verge of loosing their marriage as well...due to this bug...if you ask me, I'd say the good old days were much better.

A career woman: I'll merge with a woman's right to own a property.

Traditionally, women are not suppose to own properties...but as I stated earlier, civilization has removed the scales the covered the eyes of our women over the years.

If you ask is see nothing wrong with a woman owning a property or being a career woman...as we all know every good side, has a bad side. So the bad side or rather the disadvantage of this is that most Nigerian of today men have a low self esteem...they believe that women shouldn't progress in life...therefore any progressive attempt made by the woman, might lead to serious problems and even a divorce in such marriages.

fynejess: Divorce is not sanctioned by the bible seeing as I am a Christian but there are situations that arise and you can almost hear yourself scream to the person; ‘Get a divorce’.
I'm also a christian as well...and if you read your bible properly, you'll notice that it (the bible) charged men with the responsibility of being loyal, loving, caring, adoring and providing for their wives.

Women on the other hand, are expected to honour and respect their husbands...if both parties adhere strictly to this command, believe me, there won't be any need for a divorce.

On the case of US, I can't really say much...they live their lives the way they want, and are ready to call it quits once they hit a rock...from my opinion, they're the kings and queens of divorce...and because they have no culture, I won't really blame them.

Therefore, we Nigerians shouldn't emulate them...

PoliticsGovt To Auction Seized Bullion Van, Truck by CrazyMan(op): 6:54am On Sep 21, 2012
There were indications on Thursday that the Lagos State Government was making preparations to auction a bullion van and a truck impounded in the state for violating traffic laws.

The state Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences enforcement Unit had impounded the bullion van belonging to Bankers Warehouse in August.

The van with registration number BV 171 BDG was impounded on Creek Road, Apapa for driving against traffic while conveying money to a new generation bank in the area.

Also, a truck was impounded on the Third Mainland Bridge on Monday, also for driving against traffic.

A source said, “The vehicles were actually confiscated by the government. And since the governor did not want unused vehicles in the secretariat premises, they have to be disposed of.”

The task force Chairman, Mr. Bayo Sulaiman, confirmed the auction plan.

He said the government would, however, wait for two months before auctioning the vehicles.

He said, “Immediately we caught the drivers violating the traffic law, they automatically forfeited their vehicles to the government.

“The Section Seven of the road traffic law and Section Seven of the environmental law prescribed automatic seizure of any vehicle impounded in violation of the laws.

“But the laws also stated that we must wait for two month before we begin the process of auctioning such vehicles.

“There is no room for negotiation in this matter. The law is very clear. If we don’t do this, people will not respect these laws. We must do what the laws say.”

Sulaiman appealed to residents of the state to always obey the law, saying the government would no longer listen to “sentimental reasons” for flouting the law.

He said the task force was also working hard to rid the state of “miscreants” masquerading as “land grabbers.”

He said, “There is no space for them to operate in Lagos. It is an act of lawlessness for some people to just resort to violence and intimidation over land. Government will not allow it.”

Billyonaire: Young man, when you talk, always remember that your mind is on parade. You have successfully derailed a very handsome thread to buffer your condom thought system. If Ancestral Religion was so excellent, why did our Ancestors wish that we their offsprings dont live and think the way they did ? They welcomed the missionaries, donated plots of land for free so that churches be built and embraced reading and writing. The fact, that you are sitting there and typing on your computer is a result of that wise decision that your ancestors made, I believe if they didnt make that decision, by now you would have been worshiping the god of thunder in some distant forests, did I just say god of thunder ? Alas, there is no god of thunder. Foreign religion brought about education which thought me about magnetic clouds and thats what you would have been worshiping. Ignorance kills more than foreign religion.
My dear leave that clown...

He forgot that the advancement in education in the southern states, reflects the contribution of Christian missions to the Nigerian educational system.

Most teacher-training colleges are operated by missions or voluntary societies; their schools, however, are regulated and largely supported by the government...he knows all this but still prefers to cling to the past.

But I can see that common sense is not so common among many people here. Ancestral African Religion ke, Tufiakwa, God forbid bad thing. Common sense is not so common.

Martian: If you want to be a realistic, you will admit that both the preacher and the traditional man are snake oil salesmen using their position and their victims' ignorance and gullibily to carry out their atrocities. Your argument boils down to, "at least the christian preacher only rapes and doesn't kill".
I never said that...I only said it is much better to tolerate a case of molestation from a false preacher than the human sacrifice of a traditional deity.

Martian: The fact is there is no difference between the ancestral religions and the pathetic ones you people follow now. People like you are always quick to bring up the ignorant acts of the old beliefs, while ignoring the ridiculous antics of your cherished jews and their god in your bible; and the actions of christians in recorded history .

Christianity used to be more barbaric than it is today, just like the ancestral religions of different cultures, so pointing out human sacrificies and the likes as arguments against the old religions is asinine. Just like christianity evolved, the ancestral religions can also evolve. At the end of the day, christianity is bullsh#t, just like the ancestral beliefs are bullsh#t. So get off your high horse, and realise that yahweh is as "unique" as zeus and Amadioha.
