MRbrownJAY: i think you misunderstood what i mean by severely warning them........what i meant is that i would let them know that having a face/hand tattoo could greatly jeopardize their chances for a job in the future, compared to a tattoo that can be covered with a shirt or long sleeves.....but if they'd decided to get it, then so be it.Don't you think it would be much better if you tell them to refrain from it? I mean what's the difference between a face and a body tattoo...too me, they're all the same. Keep your skin fresh and look responsible...that's what I'd say if given the chance to advice any teenager on tattoo. MRbrownJAY: why should i tell a person to abstain from it? i would simply tell them that they will have to wait until they are 18.Before you advise someone to wait until his 18 before tattooing his body, you must be able to give him tangible reasons to back up your advise. ...could you state them please. MRbrownJAY: and thats YOUR views, and you are entitled to them.....sadly i dont believe what you are saying. its an art form, and some look great with it.Would you support your child's decision to tattoo his body if he/she tells you about how obsessed he is with the art? Please be honest with your reply. MRbrownJAY: and yet you think that talking negatively about something that OBVIOUSLY attracted their attention is the key?! lol. if i had tattoos and my youg child asked me what they were, then i would simply answer him that its body art, kind of a form of expression, like so many!Any form of fashion that makes you hide it from the general public should be talked about negatively...you stated earlier that you'll advise youngsters to put in parts of their body which is hidden. My question, if tattooing is responsible, why hide it? Why would I go all the way to draw weird creatures on my body then cover with my shirt. Doesn't that sound like madness to you? I mean why draw it in the first place? MRbrownJAY: people like you are quick to want to hammer things in a person's mind instead of letting that person make their own choices in life, and DISCOVER THEMSELF!I believe that every habit a child should go into must be a habit that would bring a positive change in his/her life. If my child loves art, I would simply buy him/her a drawing board and a couple of colours to develop his/her talent. Why would I let him practice art on his body? |
Evil Brain: With just one short sentence, you have exposed the depth of your ignorance. Please go and read up on the Big Bàng Theory before you post again. Why should we waste our time with another long an pointless debate with someone who doesn't have a clue what he is talking about. Wikipedia would be a good place to start. If only you took your time to scroll through my post, you would have noticed that I removed that post you quoted up there...meaning it wasn't necessary. But then again I'm not surprised, atheists are the worst fools you can ever come across. They have no love, no respect, no kindness...in fact, they live a life of scorn. Very quick to judge other peoples faults as if you guys are perfect. Bloody animals. |
k2039: I DONT NEED TO CHECK THE BIBLE TO KNOW YOU ARE WRONG (feet and notEsther 5:14 Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made. Are you still going to say I'm wrong? |
MacDaddy01: I believe anything that has evidence. You did not answer my question...I ask what you guys believe in...surely there must be something you found out that made you leave the christian camp. My question is what is that thing? |
Pls NL's u need to help me on this. I feel like praying but a voice tells me that am wasting my time, its not helping me at all. Pls advice me
Jeremiah 29:14. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. God is willing to hear you out, but you have to devote more time for him. Most Christians experience difficulties in their prayer life because they neglect their quiet time with God. Therefore I would suggest that if you haven't been doing your quiet time, endeavor to start it...the voice you heard is probably your mind talking. Your spirit hasn't been spiritually fed for ages so whenever you try to feed it lazily, it ends up vomiting your half baked prayers. Hence the voice you heard. But like stated earlier, endavour to spend quality time with God, and I believe that your life would become a testimony. Cheers. |
MacDaddy01: Expansion of the universe? Then what is it you guys believe in...I'd like to know |
k2039: Was asked that question at a quiz(the quiz was on the whole book oof esther)Wrong...the answer is 50 cubits high. What is the 39th book of the bible? |
Donmeca: Why not bring ur thoughts here since ur thread is quite new (later than this one) and in line with this?Ok then...since you've read my thread, I believe you know where I stand on this. Therefore I would suggest that you stop enriching your pastor...Jesus never asked us to pay 10% of our money to anyone. If you must make any contributions in God's house, let be for the less privilege, those who can't afford much. Using your money to support the needy would attract God's blessings in your life. And believe me, its much better than paying it into the account of one man you call your pastor. |
MRbrownJAY: shouldnt you teach youth to express themselves the best way they see fit? although i dont have any tattoos, i really wouldnt mind if anyone has one (and would only severely warn that child, if they wanted to have one on their face/hands)So what's the difference between tattooing your face from tattooing any part of your body? Tattoo is tattoo. If you're to advise a child on tattooing, simply tell him or her to abstain from it. Secondly, like I stated earlier, I don't criticize those with it, but I don't like it either...it doesn't portray you as a responsible person. How would you feel if your young child start asking you about your tattoos? That everyone has a right to express his/self in ways that seem fit for them shouldn't make them adopt the lifestyle of irresponsible people. |
thehomer: As far as we know, the universe proceeded from an expansion. Humans are apes.Do you have any facts to back up such claims, or are you just being naïve? |
MacDaddy01: Atheists generally accept facts. The evidence points towards a starting point of the universe. And so far, have you gotten any facts to prove that the world started from a sudden explosion or that humans originated from apes? |
MRbrownJAY: so long as it is on THEIR bodies, i couldnt care less, and so should you!Seconded...but in as much as I don't criticize them, I won't advise youths to engage in it. |
Questions for your friend to ponder on... Is he ok with her bi-s^exual attitude? If yes, can he tolerate her, (knowing fully well that she might not change) if they eventually decide to get married? Do both of them have frequent misunderstandings pertaining to that issue? How effective is her spiritual life? Does he have doubts about the future of their relationship? If his answers to this questions are negative, then I believe its high time he calls it quits. But if his responses are positive, then I have nothing else to say rather than to wish them good luck in the future. |
Check this thread for better understanding about tithes. https://www.nairaland.com/1046466/understanding-tithing |
sleekysol: A quick scan through the shelve of many people will easily reveal the presence of a sacred oil acquired from church. It has been reported to save many lives by application but the ultimate truth is does the bible support this modern day usage of annointing oil?Yes, I believe the bible supports the use of anoiting oil. Below are reasons why I feel that the bible supports the use of Anoiting oil. 1. The Anointing oil can be used as a symbolic representation of our faith in Jesus Christ to answer our prayer. 2. The Anointing oil can also be used for consecration and sanctification, of saints...I believe you've witnessed area in our modern churches. 3. It can be used for deliverance purposes.. Mark 6:13 They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them. 4. It can be applied as a healing salve or ointment that has true medicinal attributes, James 5:14. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. I can go on an on... |
comechop: what a very confusing title and even further confusing description and pics. OP please clarify. Can't you people read...take your time to read the first five posts, and you would understand much better. |
Hi everyone... I've been going through threads created months and years back about tithing. Some people are of the opinion that tithing is good, some say tithing is an old testament law which pastors of our generation resurrected in order to extort members, others are indifferent about the whole issue. I would go with the bolded...and by the time you finish reading this article which I put together, you would agree with me. In this thread, we're going to be discussing about what the new testament says about tithing, and also to understand the purpose of tithing. 2 Chorinthians 9:6-7 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. In this passage, we're made to understand that God loves a cheerful giver. Tithes if you ask me, shouldn't be a specific amount. It shouldn't be something you make a sermon out of...also, it shouldn't be enforced on members. Members should be allowed to decide what they feel they can afford, cos that's the only way such giving can attract God's blessing. I believe its wrong for pastors to continually preach about tithing. Now look at Jesus views on tithing Matthew 23:23-24. "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. 24 You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel. Here Jesus made it very clear for we believers that God isn't interested in our money...he wants us to go out into the world and practice mercy, faithfulness and love...your 10% offering would be rendered useless in the sight of God if you lack the qualities of a child of God. Secondly...and still on the passage above, I believe pharisees could be likened to the preachers of today...they spend their time teaching and enlighting you on reasons why you must pay your tithe...they abandon God's commands and criticize every christian whom they suspect doesn't pay his tithe. I heard a story about a young church worker who was expelled from church when the pastor discovered that he doesn't tithe...now tell me, is the pastor more holy than that young man? The stiff penalty given out to that man shows clearly that we still have pharisees in our midst today. They lay emphasis on irrelevant issues of the bible and ignore the important ones. Its so sad that most christians are victims of this kind of preachers. Now check out the kind of tithing God wants we christians to pratice... Acts 4:32-35. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. 33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. 34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, 35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. The kind of tithing God wants we christians to practice is clearly stated in the passage above...use your money to help the needy in the church. The tithe is to ensure that no one lacks just as the early christians did. Its not meant for pastors. The money is to help one another. To make sure that your fellow christian brother can feed his family, that he can send his children to school, that he has good clothes to put on. I hate it when fellow christians are tricked into paying their hard earned money into the account of one rich man the call their pastor whereas they themselves are languishing in poverty. Christians in the house, feel free to share your views. Thanks. |

There we go again religion of peace... TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) -- The U.S. ambassador to Libya and three American members of his staff were killed in an attack on the U.S. consulate in the eastern city of Benghazi by protesters angry over a film that ridiculed Islam's Prophet Muhammad, Libyan officials said Wednesday. http://ngmix.net/lib/vendor/web/articles/7/6491.html |
I've experienced it severally, but I won't call it a demonic attack...I think the main cause is poor sleeping posture. The ones I've experienced are centered around my neck, I feel there's a muscle there responsible for stiffening your body...because you're mostly lying face up with your neck facing left or right when it happens, When your neck takes that position for long, then paralysis occurs...when I experienced mine, My body stiffened and I wasn't able to move for like 30 seconds or so, gradually it began to wear of and I regained my consciousness. Therefore, stop accusing demons cos it has nothing to with them. |
ijawkid: But last time I checked many christians called and refered to the the spirit of holiness(holy spirit) as a GHOST....According to the first poster, he defined a ghost as a dead person...spirits of people roaming about, and seen in other towns. So allow me to get things straight here. First, the holy spirit is not dead, secondly no one has ever claimed to see him roaming about towns and grave yards, and finally, he's God's divine spirit...he manifests himself positively in the lives of christians. He's not some unclean spirit that after possessing you, they drive you mad. Now read the first post very well and tell me if his definition of a ghost can be likened to the holy spirit! |
Happy birthday...wish you long life and prosperity. Stay safe. ![]() |

I've been banned 3 times. ![]() Twice in 2006 and once in 2007...all by Seun. ![]() The first was because I put up a funny location (that read thus...on the boundaries of the enchanted forest) Seun saw that location as offensive and banned me. Then the rule on Nairaland was to put your exact location. ![]() The second was in romance section (I advised a guy to give his girl friend the beating of her life because she sized his NYSC certificate). Seun banned me for over 3 months...I had to apeal to him before I was released. ![]() And the third was in politics section during the 2007 elections. (I said Nigeria would better better off with a military government) and Seun banned me again. ![]() |
obadiah777: i think i will stay on the straight and narrow. these are serious and perilous times we are entering. entertainment is not on the agenda. these are the last days. thanks for lying to me though LOLSo how do define what you're doing right now...if youy refuse to call it entertainment, what better term should we use to classify it. |
Alright then...good luck |
I reserve my comment for now... |
Have you had any encounter with ghosts before? |
My dear there are no such things as ghosts...take your time to look at the definition of a ghost below... The soul of a dead person, a disembodied spirit imagined, usually as a vague, shadowy or evanescent form, as wandering among or haunting living persons. Does that sound realistic to you? I believe ghosts are just imaginations from people with mental issues, people who drink too much, and people who are tired of life. My bible tells me in Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: |
obadiah777: LOL now i know you want me to go out there and embarrass myselfDo I sense doubt here...God has given you a gift. Therefore I would suggest that you go into the world and harness it so that mankind can benefit from your blessings. Good luck ![]() |
The hair of a woman has always been considered one of the most prominent and important aspects of her physical appearance. Also because of its high level of attraction, it is one of the first features that we notice about them. Therefore let us discuss what the Bible says about hair and it being the glory of man. 1 Corinthians 11:14-15 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering. Now compare it to this passage. Deuteronomy 21:11-14. If you notice among the captives a beautiful woman and are attracted to her, you may take her as your wife. 12 Bring her into your home and have her shave her head, trim her nails 13 and put aside the clothes she was wearing when captured. After she has lived in your house and mourned her father and mother for a full month, then you may go to her and be her husband and she shall be your wife. 14 If you are not pleased with her, let her go wherever she wishes. You must not sell her or treat her as a slave, since you have dishonored her. Now from the first passage, her hair is considered as a glory because of the long covering and how enticing it looks when a man beholds it. The second passage explains why her hair is a glory to the man...and that is because she hasn't been taken captive and humbled according to Old Testament practices of the law. So from the two passage we can say that a woman glory is in her hair...and she looses it the moment she shaves it off. If you have further problems, point them out and I would explain further. |
