all these obstacles of progress that we continue to see beforehand is called mental disablement. if we continue to see this kind of vision, our country will remain motionless from now till the arrival of Jesus. we must stop thinking like a bushman, and do what is needed to pull this country out of darkness. |
nigerians want an honest leader to lead the efcc, not anybody's messenger-boy or house-boy (eg. mustapha and ribadu). the position is not an honorary position either, it is a federal government's position that is very much replaceable. i honestly feel that the chairman position should be broken down into 5 parts. the identification of these 5 individuals should never be revealed to the public. i say if we know who you are, you're fired. this would automatically void power drunk, self centered and egoistic individual from being attracted to the position. |
i do not see any danger in making sure that all citizens are treated equally. i don't care where ribadu is from or what he has done or who he has arrested or what he's trying to do, as long as he's the citizen of this country, he must obey or acknowledge the rules and regulations just like any other citizen. this is the right thing and if ribadu was a smart man, he could have played his enemies well with their own game, by simply obeying the rules and regulations. |
well, if waziri has done anything wrong, she should be removed and prosecuted immediately. nobody is above the law. by the way, it would be nice for people to accept ribadu's mistakes the same way they were quick to accept the wrong doing of mrs waziri, without any hesitation. everyone must be treated equally while rules and regulations are acknowledged at all time. this is the only way nigeria could be moved out of darkness. we can not have different rules for certain citizens just because we love them or because they've done so much or because they are members of our families. this is a bushman's way of thinking. if waziri has accepted any illegal gift, she should be treated like a criminal, and the same goes for ribadu. i'm sure that there are other citizens out there that could get the job done with honesty and respect for the law. |
democracy is real and a great thing, but it doesn't permit stupidity. i will not advise any politician to be a doormat for votes or for anybody. it is a job and not a punishment. as a politician, i see myself as an asset and will never allow anybody to reduce the value. i'm not trying to knock dapolam, but he's coming across as a beggar. sorry, my dear. i do not go out like that. dapo, i will be returning back from france in few days, i'll like to meet with you. |
and i know what i'm talking about because my style has been successfully tested several times. it works. |
i'm not trying to knock dapolam, but i see nothing positive or favorable to him coming out of this discussion. it is nothing, but another way to abuse or negatively judge son of an ex governor, who happens to love politics. personally, i'll prefer to stay lowkey, working on my material, developing myself and then come out when the time is right. if it is going to be it would be. i see no need to take any rubbish from anybody on nairaland.com. sorry guys. |
pataki, i will answer all your questions if i know who you are and i can see you. it is not fair that you guys know dampolam's identity, but he doesn't know yours. that right there is no, no. |
dayokano, the questions are fair, but if the man doesn't want to address them at this time or on a forum, i see no crime. dapolam, if i were wearing your shoes at this moment, i would keep things very simple. you must understand one thing "you must not go too deep into answering questions coming from people that know your identity, but you don't know theirs" it is the same as answering questions while in the dark, but the owners of the questions could clearly see you. i know you're trying to be real and sincere, but also be very careful. na today we see, we no see tomorrow. |
message for dapolam according to my political experience with nigerians or in nigeria, you do not have to answer any question if you don't feel like it. you do not have to be too nice or respectful. be very firm, draft your plan and stick to it. please do not hesitate to set people straight if they cross the line. when you display too much respect or too much mr nice or trying to impress by answering all their questions, it means you're gradually digging a hole for yourself and your future. most nigerians tend to take being nice and respectful as a weakness. they do not understand that language. therefore, once you open mr sweet or mr nice door, they will step all over your face and won't take you serious. be firm, be tough, be smart, believe in yourself and give back to the best of your ability. the rest will come together. |
during those days, adedibu's supporters did the same thing to show their support. when certain people were calling for adedibu to be arrested, many of his supporters just like you guys came out heavily crying and saying "how could you arrest this wonderful man. a man that feeds many and represents the main pilar of ibadan land". many also referred to him as a true patriot that was ready to die for his country. but the main point is: it doesn't matter what you've done or trying to do for the country, the rules and regulatios must still be obeyed at all time. we can not have separate rules for ribadu because he's your hero. we must understand that there is noone bigger than nigeria as our country. and we are not saying ribadu did not try his best as the chairman of efcc. the problem we have with ribadu is not willing or wanting to obey the rules like you and i. any country that wants to move forward to bigger and better things should never allow this rubbish to take place. what do you think would happen to our country if we have another 20m holy-saints citizens in the country that are feeling too special and pulling the same stunt as ribadu? any citizen that doesn't want to obey the rules and regulations should be treated like a criminal. it is that simple. for those of you that see nothing wrong with ribadu's latest stunts, ribadu is now moving away from you people. he's now working on submitting/ admitting to his mistakes. |
it isn't fair to paint everyone with the same colour, simply because questions weren't answered to your high standard. bright people do not operate or function this way and i'm not sure if we could come together and change anything in nigeria if we all think this way. it is obvious that he's being extra careful and doesn't want any fight with you guys. and i can not blame him for taking this route, afterall his identity is known. how many of you could come on nairaland and use your real names? he's not hidding and he's not afraid. i'm sorry, the man deserves a break and i think he will do just fine. |
no need to abuse the man. it is obvious that he's trying his best. it is clear that he may not have answers to all your questions, at least for now. instead of trying hard to judge him or criticize what he's trying to accomplish, why not praise his courage and wisdom. nobody knows it all and this is why we continue to learn and grow every single day. give the man a break. |
dapolam, now that you've attracted my attention, i'm with you. just in case you did not know, i was at your sister's wedding few years ago. i believe my people visited your people many times back in those days at felele, ibadan. i also remember the day your pop brought you and your brother to my place. i feel your sincerity and i wish you the best. i will keep my eyes on you. |
dapolam, reading your post, you seem very interesting and your political competence also seems high. may i ask you couple of questions if you do not mind? 1. what do you think about gov lam adesina's tenure as a governor? 2. what do you think about politics in general in nigeria? 3. what do you think about the way akala seems to be handling things in ibadan? 4. how can you describe adedibu if you're asked? and finally, 5. what do you think about ribadu's latest stunt? i will be looking for your response. |
these are the questions ribadu is too frighten to answer. it is known everywhere in abuja that ribadu did not handle not only the recovered funds, but also major recovered properties, well. in order to enhance ribadu's strategic qualities, i would like to see him return back to school for the following advanced classes: management skill, management conflict, civil rights and liberties, legislative behavior, public policy, business, politics and power, political organization (bureaucracy), comparative politics, modern political philosophy, and symposium in political science. i'm very familiar with these courses and i'm sure that upon successful completion of all these classes, ribadu will become a better professional individual. nigeria is a country that has rules and regulations, ribadu can not just continue to operate like a villager. |
bush shoed! i do not know if people realize what just happened over the weekend. it is sad, very sad to see united states of america at the lowest point. i'm also sure that the man that shoed bush has already been released and his courage will be celebrated for a very long time. |
thanks love. i just hope that everyone remembers that we had this dicussion. |
democracy for all, democracy forever. this is the only way. |
so far, ribadu hasn't handled himself well. and i think he has finally realized his mistake. |
i think the problem here is: nigerians are not used to people that sincerely fight for something without getting something nice out of it. when you defend what you stand for or share different view from the rest, it is an automatic mind set for them, the rest to think your last name is ibori or kalu. and this is very sad. the only way our country could move out of this darkness is by paying more attention to how our leaders or role models choose to handle things. and the best way/ time to judge a great leader is how he handles himself or operates when things are going bad for him. |
my dear mamajama, i can assure that i get more than enough positive attention at my current position and by god's grace the attention shall continue to double by every single month. again, do you have a mirror at home? if you do, please kindly use it more. |
For me I think Ribadu is still the best man for the EFCC Chairman. Not that he doesn't have his own faults or he is above the law but he has been tested and proven. I wonder why we always throw away the best we have in this country to the wind.how could you pick the best man without first doing an evaluation or fully understanding exactly what he has done? is this how your employer pick the right man at your job? i'm sorry and no disrespect, but looking at the way you think, you share a lot of qualities with our leaders. |
Am not saying that Ribadu is a saint; not at all testimonies of his highhandedness etc abound; neither can we dispute his achievements in recovering close to $6Billionit doesn't matter how much you've recovered, you must obeyed the rules. an american soldier that lost both legs fighting for his country would still come back home to obey the rules and regulations, or else he would be treated like a criminal. this is why it would take another 2000 years for nigeria to come close to america high standard. we are foolish and weak just like our constitution, and this is very sad. |
even ribadu himself is getting it and finally coming around. you people could design or direct the scenario which ever way you want, the fact remains the same. the rules must be obeyed. without obeying the rules there is no future. |
no clue at all. |
the first step toward greatness is obeying the rules, regardless of who you are, or what you've done, or what you're about to do. |
if only 40% of nigerians could believe that obeying the rules and regulations, regardless of the matter is the only way, our country would be a better place. |
Did he deserve 2 b demoted in d first place? C'mon guys can't u c that all these started immediately after OBJ's regime. However no one is yet 2 answer my question. What Did He Do Wrong During The Anti-Corruption War of Obasanjo's Tenure? Even the outside world has commended him on that over and over again.all you've listed along with your "question" doesn't give anybody permission to disobey the rules. and the sad part of this matter is the fact that: you people honestly think that condoning ribadu's behavior is the same as moving forward and moving our country from the darkness. sorry friends, this is not the way. |
i'm sorry, i'm not going to present that to you. don't be lazy, i'm sure that you have the ability to discover this info by yourself just like others. |
mr scottn:if i were you, i wouldn't be so quick to conclude at this point. i would encourage ribadu to obey the rules and clear himself. this is what reasonable people do. if we continue to walk around with this sad way of thinking, i'm sorry, our country will remain in the darkness for a very long time. do you know how many people watching and waiting to see how far ribadu could go with openly disrespecting the rules and regulations? how would you feel if efcc invites another 20 governors next month for questioning or clarification and these people disregard the invitation? please let us use our heads correctly and just don't eat dog meat because it is cheap and pretty much available. |
1st, mr move doesn't understand many things, therefore it's makes no-sense to answer a question coming from someone that clearly doesn't have a clue. 2nd, the biggest mistake efcc could have made was to arrest ribadu without first exhausting all options. in-fact, it is known through out abuja that ribadu preferred to be arrested by the fg. this was the main reason why he was intentionally provoking the system. but his trick did not actualize. 3rd, fg has decided to be very careful handling this situation, they do not want anything revealed without first making sure that the evidences are legit "if only ribadu could have done the same during his time as the chairman, things could have been better". and this is why they haven't made any move to label ribadu as anything. the issues are still open. again, to be fair and civilized, let us not discussion the issues that are still open against ribadu. i'm sure that we'll do this when the time is right. as of now, he remains innocent. finally, regardless of the matter, the rule of law must still be obeyed. it is that simple. |
