the wise people in nigeria knew from day one that ribadu lacks strategic qualities and his professionalism skill is also very weak. he did not handle himself or his duties like a professional. he talked too much and openly flexed or showed off his ego. he labelled himself and changed his last name to efcc. i've watched fbi and cia for many years and yet i still do not know who are really the top guys. they just get their jobs done on a regular quietly, respectfully and very professionally. this is how an institution should be conducted. i'm not a fan of alams or atiku and i will never be. alams was yanked from his sick bed because he accepted atiku as his visitor at the hospital, less than a week later after pressure started to come from all directions, mr alams was set free from all charges. this action is called stupidity, lack of intelligence and bushman way of thinking. ribadu had it all, from utmost power to the enormous availability of funds, but the man didn't have the wisdom, knowledge and common sense to properly execute every single operation he authorized. without any questions, nigeria is a dirty country that is full of thieves, but nevertheless, our reaction to all these unfortunate actions of the thieves should have been well delineated and planned. just because you're in the jungle doesn't mean you shouldn't have a well tested strategic plan ready to capture the beast. but ribadu did not care, it was all about impressing the king of corruption, obasojo. i'm very sorry nigerians, i honestly feel that ribadu is a role model to either fools, who refuse to think or illiterates, who eat whatever that is available. |
U need to come up with better reasons that the above please; Ribadu was not the only employee of EFCC; the person Waziri took over from was the chief operations officer; so he would know stuffs more indepthly than ribadu.my dear moves, why do you sound like this? even you do no need the skill of running a small business or a knowledge of a 15 yr old to be able to figure this out. ribadu was the main man during those days, he was the man that authorized 99% of the arrests and he was directly responsible for the handling of the looted items. do not let us forget that the individual that took over from him used to work for him, ie ribadu was this man's boss. and just in-case you did not know, the current efcc administration has already met several times with the guy that took over from ribadu. obviously, something must still be missing for them to be inviting the main guy himself, mr ribadu. look, we do not need to sit here and discover several unrealistic method or ways to justify what ribadu continues to display to the world. even in united states of america or uk, ribadu would have been detained by now. what you do or what you've done doesn't void the rules and regulations. and i find it very difficult to believe how many of you here are trying to justify ribadu's behavior. i wonder why we've lived and continue to live in the darkness. a country that has no rules and regulations has no criminals. it doesn't matter what may be going on, the citizens must still obey the rules. |
My view right now is that Ribadu at least did an effort - yes certain people he could not touch and it might not be fair to be selectivenobody cares about all these stories, just come out like a man and a true citizen of nigeria to defend your era. |
I believe the good things Ribadu accomplished outweigh the wrong things he did.i disagree with you because we only know all his accomplishments, but what he did wrong has not been revealed as yet. therefore it makes no sense to come up with your conclusion at this time. and that's the title of the drama, mr ribadu prefers to run away before the truth about his other side comes out. nobody wants ribadu dead, if that is the case this would have been done many months ago. they just want him to take the same medication he has prescribed in the past for other citizens, and if ribadu was a real man that cares about this country and his supporters, he would have taken the medication without any struggle. do you know what ribadu did to nigerian citizens that did not acknowledge his invitation? we now have many cases still open because mr ribadu refuses to cooperate. during ribadu's time as the chairman of efcc, do you know what he did to nigerian citizens that didn't want to cooperate with him? come on now, we are citizens of the same country and everybody must be treated equally. nobody is above the law, by ribadu 2006. |
i honestly feel that ribadu can not afford to answer most of these questions, and very soon it would all come out in the open. till ribadu comes out like a man and a true citizen of nigeria, his fight against corruption will continue to bear a label of corruption fighting corruption. for those of you that continue to take side, have you asked yourselves what exactly ribadu is hidding from? it's ribadu today, who will be next tomorrow to openly disobey the rules and regulations. this mess must stop, i don't care who you are or what you've done or what you're trying to do, you must obey the rules. this is the only way out of darkness. |
mamajama, why not use your reliable source to answer my questions and yours as well? |
my dear, since you sound like you know it all, why not do us a favor and answer the rest of my questions? thanks |
we are not really questioning what ribadu has done. in fact, ribadu is the only one that is creating or placing doubt on people's mind. his latest actions alone are sending enough wrong messages to the public. do you think ribadu has handled this situation appropriately like a professional that respects nigeria as a nation? do you think ribadu is too big to obey the rules? do you agree that ribadu was illegally promoted? |
@cre8tivity are you aware of the court order prohibiting the Inspector general and the police service commission from taking any action on RIbadu matter until the litigation he brought before it has been resolved?hellooooo, ribadu has disappeared. how can the litigation he brought to court resolve when the man is nowhere to be found? are you asking the court to proceed with an invisible man? the last time i checked the book, it says, when you're missing it means you have no case. |
my dear, nothing personal at all and you do not have to worry about me, i do not disrespect people that have different views. i have love for nigeria and i cherish democracy a lot. i can not stand when you disobey the rules because you feel too special. do not get me wrong, i also have problems with many other nigerian leaders, but this topic is on ribadu, therefore, my concentration belongs to him for now. how can we see a great nation when our role model can't even obey simple rules? things didn't have to go down this way, but i honestly think that ribadu prefers it this way. |
What Planet are you on; which takes precedence; your personal safety or your job; using ur analogy about the work place; if you went into work today without any pre-existing issues and u r told u have been demoted 2 levels below, based on the premise that u had arapid promotion especially when is coming from a senior colleague who had same rapid promotion.i would handle myself and the situation like i have common sense. i will either deal with it or step down. that is what leaders do. but to just ignore the orders and refuse to show up for work is childish, unprofessional and uncivilized. just because npf is useless doesn't mean we should continue to allow stupidity. correction and improvement must start from somewhere. i honestly see the rebadu's situation as a great example to the youth. we do not care who you are or what you do or what you've done, you must obey the rules like everybody else. it is that simple. |
Of All the problems facing the Nigerian Police Force; how come the case of Ribadu is the most prominence? The Bloody NPF should concentrate of curtailing the robbers in ibadan where banks are shut because of this; loads of examples aboundso, because robbers are currently going crazy in ibadan, ribadu should be allowed to step all over the rules and regulations of our country? if we have another 2000000 citizens exercising the same stunt ribadu is presently displaying, what do you think would happen to the country? my dear, it isn't a crime to multitask, it is part of great management skill. we should encourage fg to practise multitasking process more often. we can not close down operation in abuja because things are not going well in kano. do not let us be foolish, this is a country, our country for that matter. |
dislodgment of ribadu from the force is the right decision and a great message to the youth and the remaining officers. this is what happens to you when you intentionally refuse to show up for work. nigeria police force is an institution that has been around for many years, the institution is very far from being perfect, but nevertheless, we must not allow any nigerian citizen to freely or openly disrespect this institution. we are all nigerian citizens before anything else and it is the right thing for everyone of us to obey the rules and regulations of this nation regardless of what the matter may be. the major part of a great democracy is citizens being treated equally, enforcing and empowering the rules of the nation. |
it will be officially announced soon that ribadu has been dismissed. this is what happens when you feel like you're too big to obey the rules of a nation. could someone please tell me what happens to an employee that refuses to show up for work? guys, do not let us play foolish, the stunt ribadu is currently displaying wouldn't be accepted in any developed country regardless of what may be going on. nigeria is a country that has rules and regulations, these rules are not there for decoration. if we want to see a great nigeria once again in our life time, the citizens must be treated equally and must also obey the rules 24/7. nigeria is not a burger king, therefore, ribadu should not be allowed to have it his way. efcc chairman is a position just like any other fg positions. it is very important for one not to develop a big head because of any position, especially fg positions. ribadu as a dismissed federal government official has disqualified himself from contesting for any fg or political positions forever. this is what happens when we operate like a bush-man. i'm very sorry, ribadu is not a bright man or a true leader and i'm not sure if he will be missed at all. democracy must live forever. if ribadu is mis-bahaving at this stage of his career, what exactly should one expect from him as the ig? |
i am happy for nigeria. the rules are finally being recognized. let us pray for someone who will set ego aside and fight this fight with honesty, integrity, self respect and respect for democracy |
my dear cr8tivity, can you please name one person among all those you said were 'selectively' prosecuted by the EFCC (AIG. RIBADU) that did not actually commit the offence they were prosecuted for?should i take this as a compliment or as an insult. it is sad that we find it impossible to stick to topic. what could you attain from calling people names? lack of self respect and civilization is why most of us can not go over the hill. my dear, please kindly stick to the topic and save the insult till you return back home. |
if we want to see great nigeria in our life time, ribadu shouldn't be allowed to have it his way. it isn't burger king, it is a country that has rules and regulations. the sad part of the whole thing is, the people that are directly responsible for this rubbish are still walking freely in and outside of the country. eg obasojo and the former inspector general of police should also face fire. if ribadu wasn't illegally promoted, we wouldn't be discussing this such topic |
running for a fight contradicts everything ribadu stands for, therefore, he who runs from fight today is a coward and has a lot to cover up. we must avoid sentiments and call it what it is. |
this is very right. |
To make a name for yourself in NL or anywhere else, you need to depart from the majority, you need to hold wierd opinions and start controversial threads. Muza is on this mission.in other words, one has to be looking for attention if he or she has different view from you. i totally disagree. i view this forum as a way for everyone of us to have our opinion on any subject displayed, shared and positively evaluated by one another. it's a freedom of speech after all. i also disagree with you when you mentioned that selective anti corruption is better than no war at all. this view is backward. 1st, what is on the ground against ribadu is very much bigger than just being selective during his days. there are many other serious, 2nd, may be this is the right time for you to dig more into this issues, instead of just sticking to one issue that's less serious. and last, majority are now moving toward promoting anti ribadu, and i honestly do not blame them. ribadu has brought himself down. |
creativity; Now he was double demoted; that is victimisation- if u can't see then there is no point really; his car is being shot at? At this stage he went to court; with total disregard for the "Rule of Law" he was humiliated at a graduation where the case pending.how was he promoted? did he wear police uniform to the graduation? did he follow the right steps to report that his car was being shot at? did he take fg and nigeria police to court? did he sell looted items at a ridiculous price? did he take any illegal gift during his time? did he sell himself looted items? why is he running? did he mistreat anybody during his time? did he mistreat the vp? did he intentionally ignore any corrupt govt officials during his time? did he exercise true democracy during his time? |
In Ribadu We saw an Attempt at Fighting Corruption but right now the Whole thing is dead, why was ICPC Not fighting like the EFCC? were they not Obasanjo's Boys? so why was Ribadu's different? Tell me o'i happen to be a little bit closer to icpc and i will try my best to answer this question. my dear, during obasojo's regime, icpc was being controlled or managed by bigwigs old school judges that were even older and had more experience in-terms of life and politics than obasojo himself. therefore obasojo intentionally did not bother to involve these icpc people, they were too smart, been around too long and too brave for obasojo to mess with them. but here comes jonny the policeman, a man that loves power, very ignorant and arrogant at the same. his name is ribadu. obasojo saw these special qualities and immediately too advantage. ribadu wasn't bright enough to see past those days, and this is why he finds it very difficult to believe what is going wrong with him today. ribadu intentionally did not listen to advise from the wise ones. he was told to take it easy and not to be used, but his head was too big at those wonderful days. |
Listen Guys, are you saying ribadu disobeying the rules and hidding is the answer? sorry, my dear, your view appears to me like solving a problem that comes up in a village of 1000 population. it seems very backward. this is a country that has rules and regulations. it is time for everyone of us to start paying more attention to these rules. nobody is above the law. we are all citizens of nigeria before anything else. everybody, including you, myself and ribadu must be treated equally no matter what the case may be. and this is the main function of democracy. there are better civilized ways ribadu could have tapped into, but of course he must be hidding from something or there must be much more to his fighting against corruption in nigeria. and it isn't favorable to him. what would you have done if you were wearing ribadu's shoes? i would have publicly made it clear that i do not like what i'm being put through, but i must obey the rules and my seniors, therefore, i'm ready to face whatever they present to me. i would have allowed the same unreliable system to indirectly fight back for me. that is how a true leader should operate. but ribadu is too stupid and desperate for power to see through this cloudy weather. sometimes, one must pay attention and use his or her head correctly. |
let us assume ribadu had done an awesome job for nigeria,he should be magnanimous enough to obey his superiors without any struggle if he has been removed for any reason as he is neither indispensible nor unreplaceable, he has served his country and has achieved what more senior and more brilliant police officers will never achieve both financially and in form of connections, if the likes of atiku lanre tejuoso didint raise a storm when he was dealing with them, why should he nowthis is correct |
many bright nigerians today, including ribadu's close friends and admirers find it very difficult to accept ribadu's latest stunt as looking out for the country, it is more or less directed toward self interest and cover ups. for those of you that continue to state that selective job is better than nothing, i'm sorry to disagree with you. selective job is a devil that could negatively divide a country and quickly destroy the foundation of any nation, especially a very brittle nation like nigeria that has multiple tribes and undeveloped democracy standard. if you don't believe me please, feel free and check the history. till ribadu decides to come out like a man, follow the rules and expose the bottom of the matter, his fight against corruption in nigeria remains fake and corruption fighting corruption, which usually result into disaster. i do not dislike the man, i'm only in love with nigeria as a nation and not in love with a fake fighter. |
every country has her own issues, it would be a waste of time to attempt to compare anything. i think it would be more productive if we concentrate on great things that is happening in nigeria and find a way to improve other things that aren't so great. i'm happy for ghana, but i wouldn't give up my green passport for any other country in africa. as long as nigerians are rejecting quick fix and paying more attention to long term fix, it is a matter of time, nigeria will come alive pretty soon. |
my dear mikeansy, what is the matter? you can't hold a simple discussion? aren't you grown enough to maintain yourself appropriately? you do not need to get hot. i do not and i can not hate ribadu, i'm only in love with nigeria, therefore i can not accept fighting corruption with corruption as a solution to our problem. if ribadu is honest to his work, he should then obey the rules and come out from the basement and expose the bottom of the matter. by the way mikeansy, it wouldn't cost extra if you exercise some self respect. |
could someone please identify what exactly is mr ribadu running from? |
all because ribadu doesn't want to comply with the rules. seeking for asylum at this point is clearly unnecessary, mr ribadu needs to come out like a man and a true citizen of nigeria and let us know the bottom of the matter. seeking for asylum contradicts everything this man stands for or preaches and also sends wrong message to the public. i will fight corruption in nigeria with my last drop of blood, by ribadu 2006 |
you can run away from everybody but yourself. ribadu's greatest enemy remains himself and nobody else. this fight could be won easily if ribadu was a smart man and truly committed to seeing the arrival of a great nigeria. his egoistic state of mind is killing him slowly and softly. many bright nigerians today, including ribadu's close friends find it very difficult to accept ribadu's latest stunt as looking out for the country, it is more or less directed toward self interest. i hope the man wakes up on time and get it together. for those of you that continue to state that selective job is better than nothing, i'm sorry to disagree with you. selective job is a devil that could negatively divide a country and quickly destroy the foundation of any nation, especially a very brittle nation like nigeria that has multiple tribes and undeveloped democracy standard. if you don't believe me please, feel free and check the history. |
Unspeakable of woman to have responded like this. Its a pity!!it's too bad for you not to realize that the begining of a great democracy is when everyone has a voice and is treated equally, including ribadu. an american soldier that lost his legs in iraq while fighting for his country must still obey the rules when he gets back home or else the soldier would be treated like a criminal. this is why it might take nigeria 500 years to get to the level of democracy that exist in united states. |
muza, very low regard for worldly concerns also means not being too materialistic |
