For a country of 200 million?
Terrible.

This is what the president should be focused on.
There is so much work to be done in Nigeria.

I don't see why buhari would keep travelling at every opportunity.

He even attends climate change summits personally.

Comical and sad.

56 million

Its not enough cos mining and manufacturing takes up more energy.

Lack of maintenance as most power stations are old and corruption may also be contributing to the problem
You generate enough power. Inefficiency is the problem.

Your excuse is virtually what Nigerian govt use.
We have a lot of manufacturing in Nigeria too and the population is actually very very big.

But that is no excuse for poor power.

being rich is not a function of the size of your GDP. Why do you think Norway is often adjudged the richest country in the world? Is it because they have the biggest GDP? NO! It is simply because Norwegians have one of the highest standard of living. Life expectancy, access to quality education, health care, good roads, health care, food, water, electricity etc etc. jobs etc etc. Ultimately, it is not about GDP.
The richest countries have the biggest GDP.
GDP is productivity. That is where money comes from.

US, China, Japan, Germany, Brazil, India, UK, France.
These are the countries with the biggest GDPs, which means they are the richest because they make more money than everybody else.

Standard of living is a function of many other factors.
Governance, level of corruption, population, peace, e.t.c.

Sweden has a much higher standard of living than the United State, China or Brazil.
It doesn't make them as rich as those countries.

Here in Africa, there is far more money moving about in Lagos alone than in Rwanda.
That is what it means to be rich.

What you do with the money is another story entirely.

Chai. Who told you Rwanda is not richer than Lagos? Why are you assuming Rwanda can’t be richer than Lagos. If I can compare the standard of life in Rwanda, and that of Lagos, Rwanda is richer than Lagos, in my opinion. Or how do you define being rich or poor?
Lagos is richer than Rwanda. That is a fact.
Is Rwanda a top five African economy?
No they are not. Lagos alone is top 5 in GDP.
How many notable companies do you know that have their headquarters in Rwanda?
None.

Yes, they have a better standard of living due to a much better standard of governance.

They have done much with little, while lagos have done very little with much.

The world is not fair.
And every great civilisation was built by plunder.

Even tiny Rwanda that is not as rich as Lagos under kagame is plundering the very blessed Congo.

Why not Nigeria? At least we have earned it given the billions and lives we have spent bringing stability to this region.

Don't want to qoute all of your misinformed posts about this ,so I will summarise it all here.

There is nothing wrong with the power sector of South Africa, the crisis is man made. There are people who want to private the sector.

And yes ,the minister is black, don't know how that is important though, but I guess you will let me know when you respond.
Of course, it is man made. That is what we have been saying.
Corruption and decay brought about by incompetent men.
And you are just under 70 million. You are not even half of Nigeria's population yet, so the demand for power is not as high.

With regards to the relevance of his skin colour.
Well I am sure my point is clear.

I can't think of much in South Africa that has improved under black rule.

Most of what is good in South Africa was already good or even better under arpatheid.

As bitter as it is to say.

I don't think so.
If aka ibom uses all their generated power in aka ibom alone, they would be like Europe.
They even supply power to Abia state currently .

There is a serious disadvantage in over population.

What would be enough for small countries would not make a dent in Nigeria.

And we don't have a decent government to give us the necessary growth rate to make real impact on the population.

China grew at 12-15% for 20 years.
There is no way it won't capture most of their population.

Nigerias problem with power isnt lack of it, but distribution and transmission.. most discos delibrately shed power because they know 60% of energy gets stolen or lost

with 3,664 MW egypt a top african economy has enough power which is well distributed, rwanda haw 500mw and they are fine, Nigeria has 7000MW installed capacity but gencos would rather sell to smaller african countries than Nigerians
That is exactly the problem.

Distribution.

What is the point of having 10GW generated without proper distribution?

That is why I welcome the idea of Siemens taking over.

If Nigeria was a serious country, the resources we can get from all these west African countries by hook or crook is enough to fund our budget alone.

France is already doing it to them.

U know Smtn this no Sex until marriage thing which I will say is good and admirable shud not be bastardized pls. Before going into such agreement in a relationship pls make sure both parties are not only cool with it bt prepared for it.

A gal who agrees to no sex has no business getting close to any guy even her partner talkless of another random guy. From as interaction with her is she the type to keep guys at arms length? If no then it’s like a kid playing with fire or a sheep playing with lion.

Also if she’s the type who likes sex and lacks absolute or good self control Ure equally wasting ur time with such orders or agreement. It’s just a matter of time b4 the right player does the job.

The outcome is almost inevitable. No surprises whatsoever.
No sex before marriage can work only if she is a virgin and a very deeply religious person.

And that must be after you must have tried many times and she no open leg due to religion.

But any guy that is just looking at his babe without trying to sex her na sorry be him name.

Woman no dey marry without belle nowadays.

Politics › Re: Ghana Becomes Nigeria’s Biggest Trade Partner After Border Closure by CSTR2: 8:21pm On Dec 13, 2019
GENEGIRIA:
Your analysis is skewed to achieve a twisted and baseless outcomes. The fact that Nigeria has a population of 200 million and Ghana has a population of 30 million doesn’t necessarily give nigeria any economic advantage. Have you heard of purchasing power? It’s all about purchasing power, the ability to buy. When you have a population of 100 million very poor people, it doesn’t translate to a big market. Now, Ghana with its 30 million population is Nigeria’s biggest export market. But nigeria is not Ghana’s biggest export market. So how dies this balance out?

It means while Nigeria depends on money it makes from selling goods in Ghana, Ghana dies not depend on goods it exports to Nigeria. So who has the advantage here?
I don't believe Ghana has a higher purchasing power than Nigeria.
These statistics are calculated based on GDP/capital which is simplistic.

Far more people in Nigeria can afford goods that the average Ghanaian cannot.

That is why their traders come here to buy goods already imported into Nigeria.

Anyway, Ghana advantage is basically a better sense of order leading to better security, less competition for resources and a significantly better govt than Nigeria.

That is where it ends. The economic flow is always from Nigeria to Ghana in every sector.

But the fact that we are debating this means buhari is a failure.
