Hubby said 'madam are you about to open a grocery store in your office' I told him you better learn from me everyday Costa is not good for you. I have found its healthier(and cheaper ) to take in my own snacks, food, tea etc.I think I did too many squats this weekend my thighs feels like it has lead in it ![]() No squats for a couple of days.

EfemenaXY:Cococandy Efe described what I meant |
EfemenaXY:Pele I soo feel you .. I started using Clarityn since end of February so my eye itching is not that bad but my running nose no get part 2 . |
EfemenaXY:My short term goal is to lose some weight and tone up my body muscles. But I am trying to go about it by doing having a more everyday healthy living active lifestyle approach.i have done the whole get gym membership, join certain classes, do Atkins diet, do Cambridge diet etc and I realise that I lose the weight I am motivated for a while and in between I just begin to drop off the wagon(so to speak) and I am right back to square 1. I stumbled on a page on Instagram called healthy everyday living and her approach is what I am following at the mo. I try to exercise every single day, some days might be an intense 1 hr cardioworkout routine, some days squats/press ups/weights etc. Some days it might be setting my pedometer to 15,000 steps and getting off the train a few stops before and walking in to work, running up the escalators at Bank station(now I can't even just stand on escalators I have to run up it except am with the kids)using the upstairs bathroom at work etc. Some days it's running, skipping, jogging, dance workouts but I just have to make sure I do some sort intense physical activity everyday. Some days I manage two hours some days 30 mins. I can see the pounds gradually dropping off and most of my trousers/clothes are now looking funny on me but I am trying hard not to get carried away by that. It's a long term thing for me because i have lost weight so many times staying motivated has always been my issue. That porridge na wa. In my mind I was like warrisdis na who send me message. But I like pushing myself .I have thrown out all my sweetners and have taken Edwife advise and now use one one tsp of brown sugar with my tea .Or I use honey. Last night sef I had one of my fruit teas with nothing at all sef so I know I will get there eventually.Well done everyone you just don't know how many people you might be motivating. One thing I have realised is that you can get a lot of motivation online esp if you don't have anyone physically pushing towards that goal. fitness/healthy eating buddies help to motivate you when you are about to drop off the wagon. They are sooo important. I have gotten a lot of keep fit and healthy living food ideas online and they are indeed a life saver. I am even in a group on FB called WEW women encouraging women to workout and it's awesome.so many inspiring stories on there. |
edwife:Edwife don't mind me o I am trying to challenge my palate that's why I decided to try the bland oats. I am definitely not going down the diet diet route(been there done that was even on Cambridge diet when I found out I was pregnant with my son). It's a total lifestyle thing for me so instead of dieting I am making healthier choices and practising portion control. Also trying to eat more fruit and veg and cutting out unnecessary snacking in between meals. I more or less eat the same food but in a healthier way e.g instead of frying meat fish plantain etc i bake or grill, instead of pouring oil in my my porridge I measure with a spoon swapped white sliced bread to wholemeal pitta bread and stuff like that. I just wanted to see if I could actually have my porridge bland and like you can see my palate is saying no ![]() |
Hard choice I had to make this morning ![]() Unfortunately I went for Alpen.. I will try the bland oats again tomorrow (Father Lord in Heaven help me amen )

MMotimo:I taya for all this protocol. |
zemaye:Dooneys kitchen deserves a medal for making Nigerian cuisine contemporary. I am one of the 'tribe' on instagram. |
EfemenaXY:Ok oo I hope so ..you know when you just shove food down your throat so you don't taste it that's what I did this morning.I washed it down with water But I guess I can if I put my mind to it.It takes keeping at it and your body or palate just gets used to the good stuff. I find it difficult it very difficult eating deep fried food these days.I take out kitchen towel and start squeezing the oil or my stomach just starts feeling queasy at the look of it.Me that I love puff puff I could only eat one last Sunday when someone brought it to church..all the oil stains in foil pan just put me off.I was so shocked at myself. God bless whoever invented the oil spray even that sef I have mastered how to use sparingly or not at all. |
Ok let me confess I added roast chicken I nefa reash to chop veg without carbs or protein. see below the actual mealNo skin though and it was roast chicken breast. I tried bland oats this morning. Yuk. Normally have Alpen fruit and nuts or granola with fruit and yoghurt but efemenaxy I don't think that bland one is for me o. The bananas made it a bit bearable though

UK Ewuro4:Some people ni o. I can't even see any parallels except for the black female lead sha.Olivia Pope can be a fantasist jare the way she rotates between 'Vermont' and 'The Sun' can be very hilarious. I have read somewhere though that castigating that character for sleeping with a married man is 'slut shaming' yeah I am watching the new seriesof stalker.Scary.will watch out for 'secrets and lies'.Hello everyone ![]() |
Ok...finally got round to watching Empire(sha wanted to see what all the hype was about) and I don't get all the comparisons with Scandal can't even see the similarities(ok strong black female lead characters) that's about where it ends for me.i like taraji and Terence Howard sha so il keep watching.Ewuro4 seen some episodes of stalker.chilling thought Perry was sick but Ray is sicker(if that is a word) ![]() |
naijababe:All this efo's you are sharing. ![]() |
naijababe:I surprise say you nefa reash hia ![]() Oya upload asaro. |
Ewuro4:Yummy defo trying with salmon next |
bukatyne:Will do .but you have the proper boli in Lagos (I guess that's where you are based) joor all join with the dust, fumes( the day hubby analysed roadside food germs I almost fought him ) newspaper etc.na the germs dey make am sweet ![]() |
Ewuro4:Same to you sis. |
Ewuro4:Proper ijebu garri is too sure with this.. with omi tutu to sewon(ice cold water)Looks yummy I love suya pepper .i need to buzz naijababe to get her recipe(if she will give me) have run out after doing Father Christmas with the one I was sent. |
edwife:looks yum. The catfish idea sounds lovely. I am thinking of trying with salmon too. |
edwife:They do. In proper African stores.they sell in the Asian ones but uhmm sometimes it's not original. Check the Ghanian owned ones as well.My mum sends to me as well that's my moisturiser. I mix it with cocoa butter and I am good to go. That's one advantage of being a darky I don't have to use my kids trust fund to 'maintain' my complexion. ![]() |
bukatyne:Is it ? I haven't tried it saw it on one naija food blog that I follow. If you can follow her blog she gives the most amazing tips on how to make naija dishes easier and healthier. The blog is called dooneyskitchen. |
EfemenaXY:It really is. Plantain is a complex carb that is rich in iron,it's just knowing how to eat it in a healthy way. My kids like it boiled but I find it too squishy. I used spinach cos I have not been able to go African food shopping. |
Lots of good advise you have received. If lazy me can do it with my first, you can do it.My church member did the belly pressing thing for a week ( I hated it so much) told her I was ok after that and hubby continued for a few days till I stopped letting him know when I was taking my bath .When it's just both you most sensible men will have no option than to muck in. I was a bit lucky as hubby had 4 weeks off work 2 weeks paternity and 2 weeks annual leave. If you are coming to the UK midwives visit you every 2 days for first 7 days the health visitor takes off and visit you weekly or bi weekly till the 6 week check. You will be fine honey .May God grant you and your precious lil one safe delivery and good health. |
bukatyne:No o it's called Iya Oni boli ;Dbut I have noticed that's non Yorubas pronounce it ![]() Ok I will send some you . Want to make some today but this time Efe style with spinach and the likes. Love plantain not a fan of the boiled version staying off deep fried food so bole is my only option. |
Ewuro4: the kind side eye I will get ehn.. ![]() |
SAMBARRY:Sambarry deep/intimate kiss ![]() Me I can't see any deep/ intimate kiss Let me go and look for my glasses |

Absolutely nothing...I would even say awww Na wa for some comments ![]() |
armyofone:Kale like most people have said.. I have not even tried it just seen it on alot of naija food blogs. |
