SIRTee15: I don't think u really have a good understanding of women. That's the main problem I see. Except u be star like davido or your wallet is heavy like E-money. No naija girl will fall for you in an instant, u need to put an effort. Your case may be easier if u be correct handsome bobo or if u can engage girls in conversation and make them laff efortlessly- girls like guys that put them in that laughter mood. From your post it's obvious u don't have any of the above qualities, that automatically makes you an average Joe. In that case, hit and miss will be your relationship history. Nothing to be ashamed of, majority of men falls into same category. Forget what so call red pillers will come here to brag and teach about. That school is different from reality on the street. As some already said, u need patience and wisdom to navigate the complexity of a woman's heart without losing yourself. Let women know your intention but do not ask them out immediately unless you sure she's into u. Girls know when a guy is interested in them and will react accordingly. If they give u an outright cold shoulder, drop it and move on. If their face shout YES, then go for it if u like what u see. However, for your likes most women will take a cool and cautious approach. It means u are one of the many men approaching her, u not top spot but maybe u got potential she's considering. That's the simple truth. The way u play your game and her circumstances will determine her reaction.
sukkot: yeah phrankleen is a top guy. a great cook too. i started watching him when he ran a food channel. i was learning how to cook. that guy can cook. then he discovered he got the gift of the gab and then transitioned to making these informative videos. yeah the UK has always been a tough place to live because its just a tiny island and so real estate is prime. it was always tough but its getting much much more tougher now and as you rightly said especially if you are a visible minority. a few will break through the glass ceiling but many will be caught and mired in the underbelly of british stagnation and poverty.
ATLIEN2027: As far as I know, his parents are not politicians. Even if they are politicians what has that got to do with this unfortunate situation? I know civil servants that are more corrupt and richer than a lot of politicians. But everyone is focused on just politicians. There are even bankers living above their salaries via back door deals.
SharpID: Don't mind anyone that says you have work And study. I have friends in US that work to pay their tuition. Hourly rate at some places in US can go as high as $1600 per hour. If you work 20hrs per week, that's already $32,000 per week. You can make over $150,000 per month. Very easy. Within 6 months , you'll finish building a house in Nigeria
Studymore123: Live life oh. There's more to life than working crazy. The amount you make is too small to be having such savings. You make 1k and save about 250 weekly. What's even the essence of struggling to save? Go to concerts, go on a cruise, engage in fun activities. Advise the Ghanaian babe not to work like craze. depending on what she does there can be health implications later in life. When I was crazy about money I easily made 4k weekly but now I'm on a different mission in life.
NEWSCENTER: Don't mind the clown. Most of them have tried to get US and Canada visa but failed and then decided to settle for Germany that anyone can use ordinary shengen visa to enter.
This is the highway connecting Toronto and Mississauga Canada, there's no part of Europe including Germany that can boast of infrastructures like this
Don't mind them. People just talk on this thread and I just laugh. Canada is not perfect I agree but don't compare it to a lot of European countries. Did many even know that Canada has about 3 cities in the Top 10 cities to live in the world. Smh
MallamChukwudi: If you want to be average, go to Canada. If you want to be exceptional and thrive in a system that will reward your hustle objectively, go to the US, or Germany.
Canada is simply the backdoor for third world citizens to migrate to a first world country. In the league of develop countries with upward mobility, Canada ranks low.
Oga/madam, how many billionaire/millionaire are in Germany? You know the number of International students in Germany that I know that wants to move to North America. Una go just de talk for this nairaland. Smh.
Tunjibalogun: Lol. Bc you have inferiority complex and think getting a Canadian pr is your biggest achievement you come here to disgrace yourself. I have always told you that only a child who lives in his father's fenced compound thinks his father owns the largest house. You have inferiority complex. I don't know you and you don't know me, that is why I just laugh when type like a teenager who's having some fantasy about life. You're a nobody where I am that one you should know for sure. You're been bursted left, right and center and you keep making a fool of yourself here. You have poverty of the mind, soul, spirit and body. Lol You may even be a dirty scammer trying to lure people to scam them. Fvck off, poor boy
Ayohbk: As much as I commend your effort in creating this thread and furnishing it with information but I'm sad, angry and disturbed with you following the trend of demonizing your fellow countrymen.
Let me start with the first point of not relating to black guys because they are jealous or blahblah. I will reply to this from my own POV
When I came to Germany 3 years ago, there was a large group of Nigerians who joined the Uni that same time. There was limited knowledge on how to navigate studies and get good jobs. I can remember my second week in Germany, about 5 of us ran into a Ghanaian guy who was in the uni earlier than us and he gave us orientation on how things goes. He was like forget hustle jobs, try to focus on studies squarely and get a proper office job. Then we met a Nigerian who told us to find a hustle Job asap and ride along with studies. We met another person who told us that it's really difficult to find a job, and study is hard here blah blah. Everyone speaks from their experience and their scope of knowledge then it is left to you to know which one works best for you and you can use. Out of the 3 scenarios advised above, none of them really worked for me but I picked something from all the 3 people and many other people and I can say I am in a better place than I can imagine. Personally, I do not believe anyone is jealous or doesn't want you to progress, some might just be frustrated and they project their failures on you unknowingly. It's up to you to process the kind of information you receive. Never dismiss anyone or their experience because they are black or whatever. Believe me I had a 4 hr heated argument with a guy that i came to Germany with on the same plane. He argued that it's not possible for a black guy to get a proper technical job in Germany and I argued otherwise. After that heated argument we literally stopped being friends. But his points always remained at the back of my mind for over a year and it made me scared of applying for jobs so I never applied. I was only doing hustle jobs, until another Nigerian friend got a technical job and he also encouraged me to do same. With input from friends including Nigerians, I improved my skills and my CV, one month after applying I got 4 offers after 100s of rejections. 3 months while working on the part time student job, I got 3 offers for a full time job. I started my full-time job in a multinational company while still studying and also changing my visa status. Also note that till now, my german is not good but the jobs I got are in English. Points to pick out from this story: 1. The guys that gave us orientation, never told us of the possibility of getting a full-time job while studying. Maybe if they had tild us most of us could have gotten full-time jobs without the whole school stress if anyone is not interested in studying. This is not because they are jealous of us. But they only gave orientation based on their experiences and also rules are being changed constantly. After getting my full time job, the other Nigerian that encouraged me to apply for technical jobs also got a full time job too, he started today. This was made possible by us making further research and also information shared within ourselves. 2. The other guy I had the heated argument with, did not make his point based on jealousy or whatever, but based on experience and also the difficult situation he found himself. 3. There was also a "common belief" that you can't get a good job in Germany without knowledge of German. This is true in some cases, there are some rejections I got and I asked them why, they tell me they need someone with fluent german. if i pass this information to someone else and he takes it as a rule. Then he meets someone that got a job without German, then he will say i don't want his progress. In my situation, the first student job I got in the advert they stated they needed someone with good german. I just applied randomly expecting a rejection. I got called for interview, everything was in English and i got the job. When I was working there, they told me that they need more people but they were not getting applications. I told them it was because the advert was in German and also they stated they needed someone with good german which discourages foreigners to apply cos I also almost didn't apply. Then they told me the company only recently started adopting English as working language. They asked me to help them rewrite the advert in English and also recommend people.
I've met Germans who are surprised that I got a full-time job while studying. There was even a german who once kinda implied to my Indian friend that he shouldn't ask for a certain range if salary during interview. Guess what, my friend negotiated for over 10k higher and I also even got higher that the range he stated . Does that mean he's jealous, No, he was only speaking based on experience.
Now, when I meet newcomers, I always tell them just keep applying and improving your skills. Send like 10 applications per day. It doesn't mean I'm a better person or whatever. I only gave that advice based on experience.
To finish my point, make friends with anyone you meet, relate with and have similar goals and drive regardless of their color. Believe me, the familiarity and brotherly joy, I get when amongst black people most especially Nigerians you can't replicate. Make friends with someone does not mean trust them completely or take their words as Bible. It's everyman for himself everywhere. No matter how hard you try, you can never fit in completely in a Group of friends filled with white people and also you can almost never have a German best friend. Most of them already formed their cliques or best friends since their high school days. It's probably easier for a black person born here or in their teens or early 20s. If you are beyond this age group, you'll have to be your own best friend. Everywhere you go just try to be the best version of yourself, smile, relate with people regardless of their color, share and get information you need, go home and sleep. Rinse and repeat everyday.
Don't loose yourself trying to fit in a white society. Don't demonize your people.
topetall: Rule 4- Stay away from Nigerian ladies... They have nothing to offer you. I don't mean, you shouldnt talk or discuss with them..They are looking to prey on you because no one looks their way at this phase.
Nice thread so far but you make it sound like all Nigerian ladies are there to prey on the men. Yes you can explore many options for dating rather than narrowing it too quickly. That is ok advise
There is no need dissing naija Ladies. From the beginning of your write up, we already know you are attracted to 'beautiful' polish girls that can pluck your eyes.
Please don't let them pluck your sense too. Your 2 younger sisters and family will relocate someday and you don't want some guy having same myopic impression of them.
Just respect your naija ladies even if you are more attracted to oyinbo. You don't need to bring anyone down. There are some white men interested in black ladies too, so respect choices and people.
Same impression that you think naija ladies are 'leech' is the same impression that the polish lady's friends and family are warning about you. even with your multinational.
And if your desire work out and get married to one of them, if you keep dissing your naija women, they will help you to disrespect them too....until it hits home. remember you gonna have kids that may not fit in either world and you will have to educate the kids to love themselves.
Kly003: Guys, in the pursuit for success and greener pasture, there are laws you all must know. These laws must be adhered to, followed and kept in heart. Never forget these laws. If you don't keep this to mind, you may crash or have a stunted progress...
Law 1- When you travel, as a newbie who is trying to settle in, never be too quick to fall to the pressure of sending money back home. Give yourself atleast a year to get very balanced (in most cases, less than a year you are fine, in few cases you are still struggling after a year)
Law 2- if you are not travelling the legal way (studies or work) you may regret it, you may later make it but it will take you a longer years of suffering, regrets and depression. Some may never even make it. The best way to become a legal residence is always through studies.... See bah! School is a scam only in naija, when you study here, even as an undergraduate you are eligible to work for top multinational companies.... Your BSc is worshiped here, not to even talk about your Msc.... You will never regret if you come through studies and follow through. I repeat, you will never regret.
Law 3- Mingle more with the foreigners and learn from them, they are the people who can really help you. A black man can't help you, he is by default angry and jealous to watch you not progress than him. Need I tell you my job I got for a multinational firm was gotten through a ladies referral in Poland? Did we date-No! It's why I always debunk the cases of racism because people preach about it to the. Extreme as tho some blacks don't show reasons to be hated on.
Rule 4- Stay away from Nigerian ladies... They have nothing to offer you. I don't mean, you shouldnt talk or discuss with them.. But I recommend not dating them. Look, travelling comes with its downsides and that is majorly LONELINESS... In the pool of attraction, most of these ladies aren't attractive to foreigners, rather its the naija guys who always get attracted to foreign ladies... You don't want anyone who will milk you and have no value in your life. When you Start making money here, you will be tempted by many of these naija girls to date them. Don't! I repeat Don't.... They are looking to prey on you because no one looks their way at this phase.
5. Remember home- Some spend years travelling and never look to remember where they came from. It's possible because they are still illegal and yet to get their papers, however when you are settled and well to do, always remember home and where you came from. If you have a brother who always asks for money. Invite him over and take him out of naija.... Let's be honest.... When you say it's not easy here you know you lie.... Stop those lies and help your siblings to travel rather than sending money all the time making them your slaves. .
Stick to this laws and you will be fine, be open to foreigners... Seek to build network with them, you will never loose. You musn't date all but you will sure get the best of their friendship.
Emmasonic4me: For a newcomer in Canada, who may not be financially buoyant as you might be, buying food here within those early days can be considered 'expensive'. Remember they are yet to start making money in dollars and what those prices amount to when converted to naira usually come as a shock.
Again, someone who have stayed in Canada for a while might have had his or her taste buds adjusted to the food here, but we cannot say the same for the newcomers.
So, if space is not an issue let the person pack as much food stuff as possible and is allowed that can take him or her for a long time before they finally integrate. Anyone who says otherwise will not be there to pay the bills for him or her when it starts.
MrBrownJay1: bro, we are talking well paying jobs here, not factory line/dishwashing jobs. a friend just refused a job in France that was paying 5k because 2 yrs ago, that same job was paying 7k. the gov is quick to offer incentives etc but at the end of the day, thats way below what the salary should be... and this here is part of the tricks that they are using to NOT employ locals who knw their value but then go to Eastern European countries or African/Asian countries to recruit people. you can be sure that a foreigners from a 3rd world country would look at that job and praise the 5k salary, not knowing he is being lowballed (with this seemingly well paying job that really isnt).
let me not even start on the countless graduates/doctors etc who are doing menial jobs to survive because nothing worthy of their education comes their way. so let me just say again....finding a well paying job in the west aint easy today!
Tbh, you seem to know a lot about life in the west. What I have found out is that life is not easy anywhere. If only we can put Nigeria on the right path, I can bet my balls that most diaspora Nigerians will come back. I live in the west though.
Anaya4life: I don't know ur circle and those around you, but people who earn this amount in Nigeria are less than 2% of the population. Again as I said, it's not always about money. After earning this amount, ure stuck with the bad roads, Ill equipped hospitals, insecurity and the likes. The amount your friends will spend going to a good hospital is what an average person there will have as basic health care. The school fees they will pay for their childs 'quality' ducation here is what is considered basic and free over there. The amount your friends will spend on getting a good and secure place to live here is considered as average over there....Our 'luxury" is their "basic". There is collective poverty in Nigeria. The truth is that even though 'the abroad' is not a land flowing with milk and honey, the quality of life is generally better....In the end though, everyone has different goals in life and these goals influence the decisions we make
casualobserver: What exactly do you mean by encourage? Let me explain it to you as someone who has a British passport has live abroad for many years but returned home.
The truth is life over there is a sort of bondage for someone with a Nigerian mindset. You are constantly working to pay bills , no matter how much you earn your expenses rise such that you are a slave to your job, the system entraps you in ways I can’t describe here for sake of brevity, unless you are amongst the few who can establish a means of income in the multiples of hundreds of thousands be it dollars be it pounds. Otherwise yes you will eat well and enjoy certain basics that may not be available in Nigeria for most Nigerians but there are many negative intangibles especially for someone raised in Nigeria.
Unless you are a high paying job, $100-200k + life is not a bed of roses. Even at that level you are struggling but can afford things to mitigate the struggles like holidays back home or other destinations. In theory you will be better off than in Nigeria initially but life is such that once you overcome the basic sufferings back in Nigeria, the intangible negatives start to matter. I am back in Nigeria and I wouldn’t go back. I am lucky I can travel out when I am tired of Nigeria but I will never again live abroad….unless I am forced to. With all the problems of Nigeria, there is no place like home. There is a sense of freedom and self worth in Nigeria you have that you lose when you go abroad, that’s one of the intangibles I talk about. No matter what you will always be a nobody abroad….that’s another!!!
Would I encourage anyone to move abroad. It’s a hard question because you will pay a huge psychological price for moving abroad, one you will not understand until you get there and one I can never explain to you until you have experienced it. What I would say is, if you want to go abroad, have a mission and come back with if 5 years!!! I won’t encourage or discourage anyone!!! I wouldn’t actively encourage anyone because I don’t want to be the one responsible for selling you a dream that will not match your reality!!!!
Greatzeus: Because they have been hit with the reality of life over there. In contrast to the dreams of flashiness they thought they were going to meet See bro,you might travel and things will work for you easily than they told you, that doesn't mean they were lying or trying to discourage you, they were just being sincere.
DeLaRue: Best bet, spend 15 - 20yrs abroad, return to Nigeria in your early 40s, and continue your life in Nigeria.
At that age, you are at your peak and you still have 2 - 4 yrs to get re-integrated here and still have another 20 active yrs before you retire.
Returning at 60 or 65yrs is a bit late I think, as you're likely to find it more difficult to cope. That's when you'll be saying bullshit! every minute because you can't cope with the system and the people.
Legendoo: Affordable food how. Do you know how much a tuber of yam cost here
Na road and hospital I want chop. How many times you dey sick for one year sef. Omo you guys can exaggerate.
If you dey on social welfare, just know say your own don finish. Na there you go dey till your own finish pata pata
Free education for kids, you don price child minding fees .abi where you go put them after school.
Travelling without fear is also relative, you don experience racism before .
I have seen people enjoying all those amenities in places like Abuja. They install solar, live in houses that are even better than here and have access to cheap labour. So no need to bypass electricity.
What that guy was trying to explain is that there is a small window of opportunity for mega enjoyment in Nigeria in comparison, if you're well set up.
Imagine a guy living in Nigeria with a fully paid house , cheap labour, and solid business as compared to a guy in a 3 bed 600k pounds mortgage in London earning 100k.
I think i'll take the former. After many years here , I've realized no be our papa get all this useless things we cap about like good roads. You want to carry the road to Nigeria after retirement or you want to die in obodo oyinbo washing plates at 60 , then off to a retirement home at 70.
Angelfrost: How many Nigerians make that amount monthly?!!
How many Nigerians working hard and smart even make half of that a month?!!
How many Nigerians are truly rich according to your definition of rich??! In the same vein, how many Americans, Europeans, etc are RICH according to their nations' economies?!!!
How many of the population of the universe working and hustling are RICH?!! OR will ever be rich no matter how they hustle?!! I'm talking legit wealth!
See ehn... Don't fool yourself or think to fool others!
If you get a good job or vocation paying your basic bills, then you are among the comfortable majority around the world!
It is this misuse of the term RICH or unnecessary pressure on people to look down on their level of success that breeds desperation and criminality.
MT: Op you are about to make the biggest mistake of your life and I will tell you why:
1. If you relocate via Visitor;s visa to the UK, you will suffer. The UK govt has tightened the rule to allow illegal immigrant to work. Even to rent a house, you must be a legal resident. There is a website where landlords will run a check on you. If the govt finds out that a landlord rents out a house to you or you work in a company as an illegal alien, the govt will heavily sanction the landord or the company. So, illegal aliens are always at the mercy of legal resident to work or to rent a house. No matter what the legal resident does to you , you must endure it because he might withdraw all he is doing to support you. This is the website to check tenant's legal status before an apartment could be rented - https://www.gov.uk/check-tenant-right-to-rent-documents
2. If you go through student route, another big headache. Student route does not automatically lead to you being given resident permit. When you finish your course (after spending MILLIONS of naira before you get your visa), you will apply for a graduate route which is non extensible 2 years. Within this 2 years, you must get a job from companies who are licensed to hire foreign individuals. The job must be in certain professions on their shortage list which is heavily dominated by IT, Medicals and a bit of social science. And you must be paid certain minimum salary. This is the list of professions on shortage list as at today (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/skilled-worker-visa-shortage-occupations/skilled-worker-visa-shortage-occupations). Failure to secure jobs in any of these, you will be asked to leave with your dependants, if any. Do not forget that, the companies are looking for EXPERTS who can hit the ground running, and they are not limited to hiring from students in the UK . You are competing with everybody in that profession globally.
Lot of people want to circumvent the process by working as social worker. But be aware that not all social worker companies are licensed to bring in people. Moreso, Indians really dominate this industry, and you are competing with 80% of students that are coming in for a very limited space.
POINTS TO NOTE 1. Being a citizen does not guarantee good life in any country. Citizenship is different from making it in life. The values you can add anywhere you travel to will determine if you will realise your dream. People tend to mix possessing citizenship of a country to making it in life. Hell no. There are homeless among their own citizens
2. You are earning well in Nigeria. Try and invest on learning a transferrable skills and apply for jobs from Nigeria. While you are doing that, you can always visit any of these countries to see if you can even live there. Dont follow the crowd. A bird at hands is worth thousands in the bush. Some people over there will be happy to switch places with you based on what you earn.
3. Migration is never a bad thing, but plan well. Think well. A life can be ruined if done anyhow.
4. Stop converting money in Pounds sterling to Naira. If you earn in Pounds, you will still spend it in that expensive environment. Go and ask how much a room goes for in a month. Same amount can pay for a 3-bedroom flat in Nigeria for a year in most places in Nigeria.
5. It is only in Nigeria you can hire a driver, cook etc. The cost of baby minder alone will choke you over you!. Thats why a lot of people bring in their mothers to mind their kids for you. Mama is not going for holidaying but to work as a baby minder. Think if you have to leave and strategise.
donogaga: 600k Monthly Take home in naija is actually nothing. I have been there, done that. That's not much.
I relocated to the UK February this year, I make over 700k weekly here. In some cases, over 800k. I can send you my payslips if you doubt me.
Truth is, If you are very hardworking and you know how to think outside the box, you will definitely make it in UK. Money dey this Country sha as far as you are ready to put in the work and cover as much shifts as possible.
I came in with a dependent visa cos my wife is a Student. Hence, I don't have restrictions when it comes to work hours I wish to work/cover.
This Country na for hustlers. As in, na for people wen get strength and energy to hustle. One good thing is that, we are being paid weekly.
But the truth is, abroad isn't for everyone. If you no fit hustle for naija, e go hard for you to fit hustle here. In other words, if you lazy for naija, you go lazy here too.
Be that as it may, moving to UK is not a decision every hardworking Nigerian would regret.
NB: If you come in with student visa, your work hours tends to be restricted though. Hence, I will advise your spouse should apply via student visa route, and you guys should come together so that you will have enough time to hustle since your visa wouldn't have work hours restrictions.
And again, I think the money you are able to make here is also a function of your location/city. There are places where their hourly pay rate isn't quite high but you will still have made some millions in naira at the end of the month.
Personally, relocating to the UK was one the best decisions I have made in life. No regret.
You see why relocation na per head? Same UK many people complain about. @OP, seek the face of God.
