Just take note that the world don't tolerate lies

The population fraud of the North and West will incur the hatred of the world against them

As you rightly said, the world will know that Nigerian population is a fraud once the country disintegrates.

The hatred the world will have towards the North and West for inflating their figures will be unprecedented.

30th December 2018 will make it 10 good years I traditionally married,
(30th December 2008), so far so good, it has been a wonderful experience.
My mom never told me of anything i will be seeing in my husbands house, I figured them out myself. Experience they say is the best teacher and it has taught me well.

He may not change;if there is anything you don’t like about your husband during courtship, and you know you can’t live with that for the rest of your life but you think he will probably change after marriage, my sister that only happens in Africa magic. Don’t say when you get married and with prayers he will change. Yes with prayers, he will definitely change but how patient will you be before God answers your prayers.

You are responsible and to be blamed for everything; my husband will blame me even when my kids fall sick; like it is my fault they are sick. If your husband falls sick too, it is your fault, if a business plan he never told you about fails, it is your fault, if your child is not doing well academically and otherwise, it is your fault. Just accept everything is your fault and you will have maximum peace. Dont argue, it is your fault he didnt wake up early for an appointment.
Always have water in your mouth when your husband is angry at you; heyyyyyyy. Which man wants his wife to talk back at him or talk while he is talking? A story was told of a woman that reported her husband to the reverend father for domestic violence, and the reverend gave her a bottle of holy water and instructed her to always put the holy water in her mouth anytime her husband is angry and shouting at her. If I submitted an essay as such without background references and citations for just an high school english language assignment like the writer did, I would be flogged.

I wanted to pass over this but sometimes you just need to nip ignorance in the bud before it travels. The article is such a bad jumbling of words by the writer(i am tempted to not call him one because he clearly isn't one) who thought adding boko haram or whatever gives legitimacy over his writings as regards Muslims and birth control. How many Muslims are governed by Boko Haram in the North for their stance to warrant a mention in a public health discuss that cuts across millions of people? Maybe we should start by asking that question. Please get your facts right. Islam enjoins people to do family planning it was even in hadith as far back as 1400 years ago about withdrawal method even though we know it is not that effective but nonetheless it is still a form of birth control.

As for his ignorant position without valid evidences to support such statements like Muslims not supporting birth control. I guess he has never taken a look at the demographics of the world and realize that overpopulation is not a factor caused by religion but more of culture and poverty. In the Nigerian case. It's so easy to explain..

1. The average Nigerian believes their kids is an investment and a sure way out of their poverty(children are "blessings" from the lord they say) and like a lottery player or bad gambler goes on giving birth in the hopes of raising the odds of one of then hitting it big and building them houses and lifting them out of poverty or whatever when they grow old.

2. The high child mortality rate is another issue. It is a known fact that Nigeria alone loses about 2300 children under 5 years old every single day. To put it in good perspectives. There are 201 deaths per 1000 live births. I.e 1 in 5 kids never reach age 5 . You would be alarmed that it is higher than that and to mitigate the effect. Most people tend to give birth to more children in order to increase the survival rates since healthcare is poor and most times they can't even afford it. So why not give birth to more. Give birth to 12 and at least 5 should get to age 40, aint it?

3. People are too poor to afford birth control. Even a N50 condom is a big investment to 9 out of 10 Nigerian males. Let alone female condoms that are much more expensive. I can bet you. Do a mini survey on nairaland amongst girls that are sexually active and ask them if they have ever even seen a female condom in their lives let alone buy. And that is just cd o. Don't even let me go the way of IUCD or the others. How many Nigerians even visit a certified health care centre? How many prinary health care centres do we even have? What is the ratio of Health care practitioners to the population because except you are well learned as regards birth control methods, I doubt you would just decide to wake up one day and start taking brith control pills.

4. Then the main causative. Poverty. Just look at areas with rapid and high birth rates. They have the same denominator. Poor and underdeveloped countries. China, india, brazil, Nigeria e.t.c . I guess if we have to go by the narrative if this du.mb writer Muslims are the only ones domiciled in China, Brazil and India.

5. Ignorance: our education level is so low that even educated people think so irrationally that you would have to classify them as illiterates. I have heard graduates.from university saying using contraceptive is a sin. Or the fact that people still think we are in the farming era where your kids are used as labourers so you don't spend much on labour. Pray tell how many Nigerians own farms?

So which of these factors above are related to religion please? People just writing sensationalist things to gain clicks. angry

And as for the op..I am not surprised. It's a footprint.
What is this one talking about? This is a report from the economist (i even cited them). One of the most widely read and respected news publications in the world. I am sorry but I will take their opinion before some nonsensical rambling from a guy on nairaland. Good day.

North can be very successful country if they have REAL leaders to direct their country affairs.

I mean determined leaders like lula da silva.
I mean dedicated leaders like awolowo.
North has more than what it takes to be one of the best country on earth.

But presently they have bad "leaders" like other parts of the country.

I think all the arguments here about which part of the country engages in worse population padding are beside the point. Instead of looking at who is the biggest liar, why not look at why everybody is so eager to lie in the first place?

The fundamental problem is that power in Nigeria is determined by who can be most irresponsible in bringing into the world children they can't afford, or at least who is most successful in pretending to such irresponsibility. It is simply madness that states which ignore family planning, investing in female education, and other such proven methods for bringing growth rates down, are rewarded with bigger federal allocations and more voting power at election time, while any region or state that is serious about doing the sensible thing, and is honest about doing so, is punished with less money and political power. If federal allocations were changed to only match 1-1 with IGR, and INEC was given greater independence and guaranteed funding to make voting depend on verified biometric data, the previous difficulties Nigeria has had with censuses would disappear as if by magic, as the rewards for inflating population figures would no longer exist.
The only way to stop this nonsense is to stop allocations to every state and let everyone stand on their feet. Let the local govt raise their own revenue through local property taxes and permits. Let the states raise their own revenue via state income taxes and licenses. This way everyone would be forced to know the population of their constituents and their location. As long as allocations continue in this country, corruption would continue. This money (allocation) is what fuels the corruption in this country.

This is another shameful lie that'll be busted on the faces of the Nigerian elites when Biafra goes. The North will be forced to tell themselves the truth about their population. Right now they're feeding on Southern Tax money claiming they have 70 percent of the Nigerian population.
Which other country in West Africa had more population in the North than in the South? Why was Nigeria's different? Why does International Maps show condensed population in the South and Nigerian Maps does otherwise?
It hurt me to believe ordinary Aboki has been cheating me for 57 years. Where the hell did the Illiterate North get this smartness from?

It's not only in the north where they have issues with child birth. The problem persists all over the country. Am igbo and you still igbos who give birth to 6, 7 children in this country. Sometimes I wonder if they know how much a good education cost. I don't even know whether to attribute this problem to high levels of illiteracy cause even the educated people give birth like pigs.
Maybe it's the lack of 'quality' education in Nigeria or the lack of opportunities after school that lead to women to live under the subservience of the whims of men. If a lot of women had their own careers they probably won't be having as many kids or settle for any man that comes their way. I am not saying that culture does not play a huuuuuuuge part but my opinion is that with more women being educated the more emancipated they become.
FamilyRe: The Problems Of Family Planning In Nigeria by davidif(op): 6:24pm On Jul 12, 2017

Education of the girl child will help a lot, especially in the north.
Going to school will cause delay in marriage and childbirth. Instead of starting early at 14years and having 12 children at age 40, they start age 20, and have 5 children at 40 years.
Creating awareness, awareness and more awareness is key. Radio jingles on family planning, child spacing also helps a lot.
Also more importantly is targeting the men especially in societies where the men decide on everything. Let the men understand the financial importance of child spacing, and also the health implications to the women. Let them understand training 3 children properly and empowering them would yield more rewards than having 30 children all begging on the streets and joining gangs and cults due to lack of money to train and empower them.
Maybe if they increase the marriage age to 21 in the North it will reduce the marrying age.

exactly what is annoying about the whole situation! Just check all the candidates presented by major parties during presidential elections. They are not always the best from the pool of aspirants. They are the ones the parties feel can win elections and not the ones that can do the job. The ones that can do the job are either left as aspirants or still in smaller political parties but they only get ''jamb scores'' during elections which are not enough to give them the job!!!
Well blame INEC for that then. Their bylaws don't really provide opportunities for outsiders to get into the game. Can you imagine the last elections that Buhari had to pay 25million to his own party to register himself as a candidate and it's not only the presidency o, it goes on down to even the local govt chairman. They have to pay their party a significant amount of money to register as candidates and they wonder why there is so much corruption. This guys borrow a lot of money to contest and they have to make it back.

in Nigeria everything dey mix o.
A country where a doctor tilurns out a minister of works and a lawyer a minister of power. Most of our politicians don't know what politics is.
Even Plato as aft back as 300bc knew that a state alike only function probably if people practice what they are trained to do. You should not be a mechanic when you were trained to be a carpenter. A teacher should not do the work of a soldier. Those that rule the state should be philosopher kings( most educated and intelligent with sound reasoning and judgment) and not like Nigeria where the best a pushed to the corner while the worst are forced to rule the people for some selfish reason.
However, religion and politics can mix for a greater good. It depends on the motive of the person s involved.
Please tell me where the mixture of religion and politics has ever worked? Even in a country as religious as the United States have in their constitution a statute separating church and state.

i saw this while browsing, let it sink in your brain...forget tribalism at home oh.

It was in the year 1963 and Nigeria's first and only Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa took his annual leave and was off to his village to spend it. Then a British photojournalist came along but they told him the that the PM had gone on vacation.

The photojournalist then asked to which country but he was shocked when they told him the PM went to spend the vacation in his own village. To satisfy his curiosity, he decided to travel to the village. But on getting to the village, there was no sign that a big man was in town. Everyone went on their normal business and the village was peacefully quiet. Then he met a farmer along the way with his donkey carrying bales of sugarcane, and he asked from the farmer the house of the PM. The photojournalist was again left speechless when the farmer told him that he had just left the PM and that if he gets to the PM's house, which he described, he would meet him sitting on the bare floor with his kids enjoying the sugarcane that he gave them.

The British photojournalist was dazed when he reached the PM's home. The picture below is the picture that he took. May the labours of our heroes past never be in vain. Today, we have vagabonds and thieves in power. Those who disturb an entire city with sirens and their empty noises of vanity. Those who loot the treasury of an entire nation and still insult our common intelligence with their embarrassing incompetence. Nigeria has all it takes to become the greatest nation on earth. All we need are visionary, dedicated and inspiring leaders and not the shameless rogues and incorrigibly kleptomaniac bandits who lie, rob, cheat, rig and kill their way
to power.

WHEN IT IS TIME TO VOTE, REMEMBER YOUR UNBORN CHILDREN AND USE YOUR HEAD. FORGET TRIBALISM AND RELIGION...IT IS JUST ANOTHER VEIL THE DEVIL USES TO COVER OUR EYES FROM GOOD AND EVIL. BE WELL.
Man, what a sad story.

Ms Lam, China has a population of over 1 billion with cases of females being aborted because the Chinese prefer males.
This means that there are more men than women in China. The question is: Why can't you find a man in China? Something wrong?

...that would have shut her up.
Wrong It won't have. It would have made you look childish and petulant. Plus it would have been an admission of guilt on your part and they would have laughed at you instead. When people resort to insults it means that they you have lost your arguement and cant think of anything else hence the personal attacks. Or simply that you are clouded by yiur emotions and cant ghink straight. Most countries are not like Nigerians that like to pride themselves in being able insult people. Personal insults and name calling are seen as childish and infantile that adults should not be participating in. In other words, people won't really take you serious you would just be seen as the angry guy or the raging lunatic to some. If you want to rebut someone's points. Do your research and present facts with sources and don't resort to name calling.
