Front page: Mynd44 Lalasticlala He is wrong! Land should go to the people or their local communities not the state (except for small strategic areas designated as federal lands for national security). I was in Lagos not too long ago and I found out that the state raises revenue via taxes and then turns around gives it to the local governments. So dumb. LGA's should be able raise their own revenue and provide services for their own constituents. This way you encourage civic participation by the people and reduce the possibility of money passing through many hands further reducing the possibility of corruption. |

Exciton: My stance couldn't be further apart from yours. I advocate for compulsory quality education for the betterment of our society, not eugenics.
Eugenics is stupid and inhuman, rooted in the flawed ideology of Darwinism. People will always see reason as to why they are superior to another group; thus, rationalizing their choice to seek means to dominate/wipe out another group. So, IMO, in the long run you either end up with a dystopian society or a violent and unstable one. Either won't help the survival of the human species. This right here.

win3k: NOPE: Nigerians have more university degrees than any other black groups in the world.
The problem is religion, a simple case of (some) god made the children happen and will also provide for them.
You can ask a professor of chemical engineering or a medical doctor of Nigerian DNA and the answer is the same - primitive mentality! While religion does play a part its not the biggest factor as far as i am.concsrned. America is still a religious country yet it's still the wealthiest country in the world. South Korea is a religious nation also yet they have been able to pull themselves out of poverty to being a highly developed country. The problem for the most part is lack of good quality education and economic prospects after school. Trust me, if a lot of this women had good careers like women do in Japan or Europe the fertility rate will plummet. |

Blue3k: Don't trust these state governors any restructuring without fiscal automony is a joke. Eliminate joint account provision The call for decentralized police force us excellent. Local policing by local government would be great. The land use act is stupid the people should hold their own land and mineral rights not government. State and local government regulating land is much better.
I don't agree with special status call. You used to be a capital so what. Your taxes from population and infrastructure projects should accomadate population growth. This is just self serving measure and rightly tossed in busses by mass as whole.

nyben4eva: I was a supervisor during the 2006 census in Zamfara state,Gummi LGA.What I saw with my eyes really opened my eyes to understand the kind of people Northerners are: liars, greedy, dishonest and absolutely hopeless without oil money.
Local government areas are like grave yards until whenever they hear that allocation has been distributed, they start rushing like bees to suck up the mony without shame.
In my area of supervision, they forced me to inflate the actual figure by 3 and I refused and they had to replace me with someone else. They went as far as creating figures with all their finger prints so as to manipulate and inflate their population. The nomads would move from place to place and kept on getting enumerated.
The South is truely more populated than the North in all ramification and they are the reason for Nigeria's backwardness because they tend to shy away from development. Where you able to read that research paper I posted in the front page? |

adaweezy: This is what happens when people sit in far flung places of the earth and dictate for Africans/Nigerians without experiencing first hand the problems being faced. Nigeria has a traffic police department mandated to tow vehicles, fine and imprison offenders but they seem to spend more time negotiating bribes with drivers on the road and ignoring traffic offences and the real reason for this is simply because the police is highly centralised with the state government lacking powers to forcefully compel them to act without receiving instructions from Abuja the Nations capital. LASTMA over reached their powers during the reign of fashola, besides LASTMA was never a money making agency and Fashola has a lawyer should know that when you act outside the ambit of the laws such actions are illegal but in Nigeria anything goes. So you think this wealthy media houses don't have local correspondents? |

TRAFFIC is a way of life in Lagos, Africa’s most populous city. Home by some counts to over 20m people, it is among the most notoriously congested places in the world. The “go-slow” piles up long before dawn as businessmen in SUVs and traders in battered buses hit the overburdened roads. It lasts until well after dark. Often the queues can be unfathomable: a rainstorm, a breakdown or a public holiday can condemn a driver to hours in horn-honking hell. Tardy workers proffer one irrefutable excuse: “Traffic is bad.” Yet the gridlock that Lagosians have suffered in recent weeks is noteworthy even by the city’s horrendous standards. Rush hours have lengthened, and vehicles back up at unusual hours along the bridges linking the mainland with an island business district. Safety concerns are mounting as armed robbers pillage stuck cars while police are far away. Security experts reckon this is symptomatic of a broader increase in organised crime under a new and less competent state government.
Lagos is a hub for investors in Africa—it is a bigger economy in its own right than most countries on the continent, so this is of serious concern. The state’s former governor, Babatunde Fashola, who left office after elections in March, was lauded for improving traffic and security. He curbed dangerous motorbike taxis and brought local “area boys” (street children), under control. Cars were terrified into order by a state traffic agency, LASTMA, whose bribe-hungry officers flagged down offending drivers. His successor, Akinwunmi Ambode, is full of excuses, but few solutions, for the worsening gridlock. Traffic is always bad during the rains, he says. Nigerians are migrating to Lagos en masse in search of work in a worsening economy, his office adds. Yet the root of the problem is in policy: Mr Ambode cut the powers of traffic controllers by banning them from impounding cars. In retaliation, officers have refused to enforce the rules.
Reform in a culture riddled with corruption is never easy. Mr Ambode’s office says the measure was intended to create a more “civil society”. Less fastidious types think it amounts to weakness, and would prefer that he focused on public transport instead. The biggest concern is that the gridlock is a sign of a breakdown in relations between security forces, government agencies and the new governor. If that is the case, there could be worse to come. That is bad news not only for Lagosians, but all Nigerians too. http://www.economist.com/news/middle-east-and-africa/21677665-why-nigerias-largest-city-even-less-navigable-usual-paralysed?fsrc=scn%2Ftw%2Fte%2Fpe%2Fed%2Fparalysed Cc lalasticlala See how easy to read this was. |

philpwresh: Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has insisted that former President Goodluck Jonathan was not weak or incompetent.
He was reacting to statements credited to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB], Nnamdi Kanu
. “I do not believe that @GEJonathan was weak or incompetent. I believe that he is a profoundly good man and a courageous & exemplary leader,” Fani-Kayode wrote on his Twitter page.
Kanu had described Jonathan as a “weak and incompetent” President, who did nothing for the South East, even though the region claimed he was one of their own.

Education › Re: Seven Leadership Principles To Learn From An Eagle By Hersley by davidif: 12:55am On Jul 14, 2017 |
HERSLEY: *SEVEN LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES TO LEARN FROM AN EAGLE....*
1. *Eagles fly Alone and at High Altitudes.* They don't fly with sparrows, ravens, and other small birds.
MEANING; Stay away from narrow-minded people, those that bring you down. Eagle flies with Eagles. Keep good company.
2. *Eagles have an Accurate Vision.* They have the ability to focus on something as far as 5km away. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it.
MEANING; Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacles and you will succeed.
3. *Eagles do not Eat Dead things. They Feed only on Fresh Prey.*
MEANING; Do not rely on your past success, keep looking for new frontiers to conquer. Leave your past where it belongs, in the past.
4. *Eagles Love the Storm.* When clouds gather, the eagle gets excited, the eagle uses the storms wind to lift itself higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagle uses the raging storm to lift itself above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. In the meantime, all the other birds hide in the branches and leaves of the tree.
MEANING; Face your challenges head on knowing that these will make you emerge stronger and better than you were. We can use the storms of life to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid of challenges, rather they relish them and use them profitably.
5. *When a Female Eagle Meets a Male Eagle* and they want to mate, she flies down to earth, picks a twig and flies back into the air with the male eagle in hot pursuit. Once she has reached a height high enough for her, she drops the twig and let it fall to the ground while she watches. The male eagle chases after the twig and catches it before it reached the ground, then bring it back to the female eagle. The female eagle grabs the twig and flies to a much higher altitude and drop the twig again for the male eagle to chase. This goes on for hours with the height increasing each time until the female eagle is assured that the male eagle has mastered the art of picking the twig which shows commitment. Then and only then will she allow him to mate with her.
MEANING; Whether in private life or business, one should test the commitment of the people intended for partnership.
6. *Eagles Prepare for Training;* They remove the feathers and soft grass in the nest so that the young ones get uncomfortable in preparation for flying and eventually flies when it becomes unbearable to stay in the nest.
MEANING; *Leave your Comfort Zone, there is No Growth There.*
7. *When the Eagle Grows Old,* His feathers becomes weak and cannot take him as fast and as high as it should. This makes him weak and could make him die. So he retires to a place far away in the mountains. While there, he plucks out the weak feathers on his body and breaks its beaks and claws against the rocks until he is completely bare; a very bloody and painful process. Then he stays in this hiding place until he has grown new feathers, new beaks and claws and then he comes out flying higher than before.
MEANING; We occasionally need to shed off old habit no matter how difficult, things that burden us or add no value to our lives should be let go of.
*YES, NEVER GIVE UP,* *BE AN EAGLE, NEVER EVER GIVE UP !!!*

I came to a conclusion that politicians do not even love themselves.
I WILL NOT VOTE FOR THEM IF MY VOTE WILL COUNT. Well get the govt out of the health system for starters and create a board that oversees the hospitals and accredited the physicians with licenses to practice. |
