Sulee23 and mmamaroon thank you very much, after pasting mamaroon’s responses she contacted her supervisor and he said he will give she the letter tomorrow, she will also notarize it tomorrow. I told her to let’s wait and do the right thing Than to submit out of rush rush and I’m glad she’s buying my explanation at least. Thank you very much again |

Mmamaroon: From what I've read here, supervisors are advised to write the duties WITHOUT using the employer's letterhead...... that addresses the bank's email/concerns.
The list of duties is NOT a character reference but if the supervisor refuses to do it on plain paper and attach their ID etc......well...what about a former supervisor?
Does she have goals and appraisals? Those are formal and would have all her duties and roles in one place and would work better than a catalogue of a dozen emails, I think. If all else fails she can do it herself notarise it, write a very clear LOE citing all you have said here and pray for the best.
Matching NOCs is a big deal....you want to make it as easy for the VO as much as possible. See Teamo's PFL and see what the VO said. Others with a contrary experience...pls help I’ve told her all this, she’s saying she wants to submit at all cost. She has appraisal but can’t access it till 7am tomorrow morning On the portal. I feel she has a lot to prove because she’s not submitting a reference letter for the work she’s claiming the longest experience for and this is very serious. At this point my tired is tired. She has been able to tweak her NOC around 2171, this NOC was a serious issue too, because the JD’s given to her doesn’t fit anyone on the NOC site and she was going to use it like that, so I had to tell her to tweak her NOC properly and avoid copy and paste which she eventually did. She doesn’t even want to write a reference letter herself because she feels her employment letter, pay-slips and co will make a case for her, in her words “the information they need on the reference letter is in the documentation she plans to submit”. I was the one who told her to at least wrote something to show |

Thank you very much mmamaroon, she has tried everything and her supervisors are scared of their bank because the bank recently sent this email : Dear Colleagues, It has come to our attention that some members of staff write character reference letters on the Bank’s letterhead to other organisations, on behalf of colleagues or ex-staff. In light of this, please be reminded of the following: Character reference letters can only be issued by Human Resources (HR); all such requests should be forwarded to the relevant HR business partner for processing The Bank’s letterhead should be used for official (and authorised) purposes only Using your official email address and/or the Bank’s letterhead for non- official purposes is strictly against the Bank’s policy.
This email was sent after HR noticed that supervisors were issuing references to staff when HR refused them references.
She has 5 more days to submit because of this issue. I told her to add emails from her bosses detailing her job duty , like two emails per month from the last 12 months. The office refused to write reference or even give bank statement reference to her , they said it’s against their policy |

Good evening everyone, please I’ll appreciate anyone who can point me in the direction of the monikers of those who wrote their Work references Themselves due to refusal of work place to issue reference letter to staff. A friend is in a dilemma and I’m telling her people here wrote their references themselves, she has proof of the email rejecting her request for a reference and also another proof where the company sent an email to all staffs saying no staff should reference another staff as it’s not their duty. She has written her letter herself , attached her payslips, letter of employment, promotion, recent emails between her and her superiors etc please is this sufficient proof ? |

Balanceiskey: Wow!
This is a story of resilience. Congratulations to you Debbie. May the rest of the journey be seamless for you. I plan to write my IELTS in April, and I am praying that by the grace of God and with the aid of all resources shared by NL, my husband and I will ace the test. WES evaluation is ongoing. I can't wait to share my testimony. I am certain it will end in praise. Thank you Just use the required materials , you’ll ace the test and if you know you can’t really multitask and work under pressure then do paper based because of listening. For me I’ll say I prefer listening paper based and every other module in computer based. I wish they could give us the option of taking one module in paper and the other in computer I got my evaluation In November and I’m still waiting for my spouses wes & IELTS. |

hazel01: Congratulations sis, but how did you go from 9 in reading to 6?I am scared, saw my result today had 7.5 in listening and 9 in reading. When I saw that 6 I was sad but I deserved it because I left like 8 questions unanswered. There were so many passages to read and some had continuations on the next page that I didn’t even see(First time taking paper based test). |

Igethope: If you u are yet to submit your application, pls shine your eye well well o. Go through the document check list, name each file properly before uploading. They are rejecting applications now, no more ADR. Don’t listen to people here telling you ECA and language test is not compulsory. They have rejected people based on this just this month. Very true, I read somewhere today , 2 people were rejected yesterday 4th February for not uploading biodata page Of passport. |

My IELTS story: First attempt L 7.5 R 8 W 6.5 S 7 Second attempt L7.5 R8 W7.5 S8.5 Third attempt L7 R9 W7 S8.5 Fourth attempt L8.5 R6 W6 S8 Fifth attempt L8 R8.5 W7.5 S8.5 I’m elated and over the moon. First attempt I wasn’t prepared at all at all Due to work, I just went to write hoping for the best. Second attempt I was very prepared but got lost during listening Cbt Third attempt again got lost during listening cbt Fourth attempt I took paper and made a silly mistake , I didn’t indent or paragraph my work in writing , I didn’t finish my reading test , tbvh the reading test was very tough this time. Fifth attempt I put all my mistakes together and forged ahead. I used IELTS Liz mainly , IELTS fast track for listening tips. Then this IELTS master free module that idp gives I used it alongside Liz for writing and that thing was very very helpful. Watched all Liz videos . Tips for speaking I got it from Don Oliver on the idp IELTS instagram page and that was it. Thank you for coming to my ted talk. I’m still excited and over the moon. |

Olisa222: Please what's the minimum score your spouse needs to get in IELTS. My spouse doesn't really have time to read and I'm afraid that may draw us back. If I max it and his score is low, would it be a problem to us? To get the full 20 points for language from spouse , spouse needs L8,7,7,7 for other components, 8.5,8,7.5,7.5 for PA |

obym321: Please, I need advise on the issue below;
Is it possible to adopt a child and add her as a non accompanying family member to express entry application that was submitted in March 2020 ?
Note: the said child is my kid sister who is below 18 years.
According to gcms my application is in OVO and eligibility, criminality and security are passed. The last update was a request for a dependents passport as it has less than 6months validity.
She's in Nigeria atm and my immediate family that was included in the application are based in another country. However, she was only mentioned as my sister in the application.
Any suggestion will be appreciated. TIA When you’re settled in Canada, do the adoption process and bring her over, but first of all enter Canada and don’t delay your application any further by attempting to include someone. Cheers |

Goodskills: True not In canada. Abroad generally not as lucky as health Workers. Nurses are balling everywhere in the world I’m telling you o. Lawyers aren’t as lucky as health workers until they fully qualify to practice in the country and then again as lawyers we now have to start building portfolios again to gain clients in another man’s land thereby making us begin from the scratch. Compared with nurses , the I.T guys etc |
