I agree with your submission on opex being a major challenge for airlines.
However, I think bristow not sure if you meant bristol is well managed compared to carverton perhaps because they are an international company. Carverton can't even service it's existing obligation to some of its customers because they have very few aircraft. These I have seen first hand. I wonder how bristow is able to manage their operations amidst the FX wahala.

kolaish:
Sincerely speaking, I don't see what you see in caverton that attracts your attention to it. Firstly, I don't like their line of business; airline business/maintenance is not profitable in Nigeria. Beside the fact that it is capital intensive, the business is dependent on a lot of factors like forex to import crucial parts for aircraft maintenance, amidst other factors. I am yet to see any business in the aviation sector churning gains (Beside those rendering services like NAHCO). Rather, it is always stories of losses and closures; From the days of Alubarika Air, ADC airline, Chanchangi, Bellview and Bristol helicopter to the present days, Even, most of the present airlines that we have are all wallowing in debt.

Secondly, Caverton is like a family business (The Makanjuolas') and I don't have much confidence in their management style. To me, even Jegede's Japaul has the potentials to survive the future than Caverton. I rest my case for now.

Above is my personal opinion please.

Good morning sir, going through the list I observed one or two things.

1. One bedroom apartment can't use the same load cable as 2-bedroom . I saw only one coil of 10mm RED and BLACK

The load cable for one bedroom flat shoul be 6mm except he's combining all the loads into one distribution board.

Also, he requested for 4mm only RED, Does that mean hes planing to use only the red colour for AC for all the flat. Or is it using 2.5mm for AC and water heater.

The quantity of 1.5mm and 2.5mm is okay but he check the load cable again..

I believe the 2-bedroom has 3nos of AC and 2-water heater.
The 1bedroom has 2nos of AC and one water heater while the self con has one AC and one water heater
Thanks brotherly.

The load cables are for ACs only. We knocked off water heaters as cost of electricity don't allow most tenants use them.

I was wondering why only the Red for 4mm as well. Perhaps he intends to use only that without the black.

Good morning @topsy and @twinskenny.
Are the number of wires in the picture below just enough to run or an overkill

1 x 2 bedroom flat
2 x 1 bedroom flat
1 x 1 room self contain

All having toilets ensuite and kitchens.

Electrician is coming back to ask for 1more bundle of 10mm and 3pcs each of 1.5mm single core red and black cables.

Thanks.

Still on conoil agm.what does the audit committee members do and the benefits of being a member.

My reason being that one Prof was the one who mobilised this students to the agm. Some old yoruba guys(no disrespect ment) played him to the game. His men whr outside and reached out to this students before they entered the venue and
offered 1000 each and the Prof lost in the voting
The Prof somehow left them to thr fate as how to get back to school after losing. The whole thing was funny. The guy who won has to start making arrangements and bearing the cost to get them back to school.
I watched access bank agm for FY22 and like someone here said in time past, it would appear people to query the board have been pre-arranged. Theirs was transparent to an extent for voting as shareholders who were not present at the venue could vote on motions raised at the meeting if you join virtually. Except shareholders take agm seriously, mismanagement will continue. Shareholders in IB for instance will need to challenge their mgt at meetings on how they make so much revenue but still end up with losses every quarter or bloated operating cost.

Btw, what did the board have to say on why they paid 2.50 out of 7 naira

Given the last corporate announcement from united capital, the board now have the approval to increase the share capital of the business. Are they also planning a private placement like Fidelity bank or might be issuing bonus shares for the next dividend cycle. Also noticed there have been lots of insider(executives, employees) trading on the stock.

Nice one from the chairman on PZ buyout..

Any amount below N100 per share is completely unacceptable to the Nigeria shareholders and will be resisted appropriately,” he said.

At least we can cash out at N23.65 at a worst case scenario which is the highest price within the six months period.
How come the rejection by shareholders of Ardova didn't work out.

I meant Eni isn't exiting Nigeria in totality as their short/medium term strategy is to focus on offshore assets. The decision to sell their onshore asset has everything to do with rising cost of securing those asset

Don't know why Wale likes to buy dead businesses. Agip is suffering untold losses from their swamp asset owing to vandalism . They don't even produce as much as they do anymore. Reason why Eni is exiting the business. I wish wale and his goon well in their new found love. ConocoPhillips deal landed them in the last wahala. They are putting their neck Into the next one

Dont you think Elumelu will rather invest it in the bank to enable "greater value" for shareholders rather than increase the dividends?
A little largesse here for the FX windfall doesn't stop the bank from investing for greater value. They increased employees salaries because of the same reason so why shouldn't shareholders benefit as well.

Bulk of their revenue is from sales in the north compared to the south and east. I don't know what strategy they have employed to boost sales in that region but they have been printing more money from the region in the last two quaters.

Add overbloated project cost to that and awarding contracts that don't get executed in full even when payments have been made. In the end, you have plenty naira chasing your limited FX thereby pushing the rate higher. Then we return back to square one. A lot of states borrowed from banks, issued debts instruments (bonds for example) and you don't see the impact in the economy of the states.

Anyway, let me stick to making money in the market.

The three tiers of government are set to share N1.959 trillion in July 2023 — probably a record, TheCable can report.

This is nearly triple the N786.161 billion shared in June and more than triple the N655.93 billion in May.

Allocations are usually shared from the preceding month’s revenue — meaning June will be shared in July.

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) will meet in Abuja on Wednesday to allocate the revenue to the tiers of government — federal, state and local — based on the sharing metrics.

Statutory collections make up N1.7 trillion of the federally collected revenues, followed by N293 billion from VAT and N12 billion from electronic money transfer charges.

TheCable is yet to establish if there had been any higher monthly revenue in the history of Nigeria.

A snap analysis by TheCableIndex data team suggests that the fall in the official exchange of the naira might have contributed to the seemingly unprecedented rise in revenue.

FAAC adopted N436.38/$ as exchange rate for the calculation of the forex component of federally-collected revenues for June 2023 but this has now gone up to at least N750/$.

TheCable could not confirm the actual exchange rate used for July.

FAAC is made up of the minister of finance as chairman, all state commissioners of finance, state accountants-general, the accountant-general of the federation and the permanent secretary of the federal ministry of finance.
You remove subsidy and free up more cash. Instead of investing them in critical infrastructure to better the lives of the citizenry, you decide to share the largesse among the tiers of govt where a lot of it will get looted and in turn put more pressure on your FX. It can only get interesting

Q1 2023 alone ended with an eps of N2.48 for nascon exceeding even the FY2022 EPS of N2.06.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by debeey87(m): 10:45am On Jul 13, 2023
My worry is the OS for the combined company. When savannah shareholders were integrated into Dangsugar, the OS increased and not much for dividend. I still wondering how Nascon shareholders will be integrated without increasing the OS for the resultant company.

Nascon OS - 2.6bln

DangSugar OS - 12.1bln

BuaFoods OS - 18bln

The resultant company will probably have same OS as BuaFoods but share price might not correspond given that Rabiu has more shares control than Alhaji has in Sugar.

Again, the market will always do its thing with regards to price in the end.
