InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by debeey87(m):
I got this offer for a commercial paper from my stock broker. I haven't done CP before so I will appreciate contributions in understanding how it works. I have the following questions.

1. Are yields usually not stated as seen in the picture?
2. If the discount rate isn't the yield, why them was it included in the offer.
3. Can one extrapolate what the yield will be based on current yield for similar bonds with same tenor of 270days or 9-months.

Thank you.

Over 17m units of conoil traded today. I have never seen such volume in the stock considering adenuga owns the majority stake
This might be part of the funds that will enter fbnh in the coming days.
I don't blame Wigwe and Tony for increasing their stake in their respective banks. Imagine you have the kind of power tussle going on in fbnh going on in those banks they have labored yrs to build.

How many of your stocks have you sell so far?
100% of Stanbic, 41% of wapco, 40% of PZ(Bought back some more before the release of their FY unaudited result),100% GTB. Waiting to hit target on remaining ones and following my strategy of recouping my capital. I can enjoy dividend till eternity on the remaining ones. Next target is to offload some nahco and access.

Trade your plan and plan your trade

It's time for emotional control with all the profits. Gradual profit taking is good or selling into strength like other will call it so one doesn't end up with paper profit at the end of the day.

Btw, nahco is sitting pretty at #20 today. We wait to see if it can close at same price.

I am still struggling to understand why UBA is lagging more and more behind Access. I thought fundamentally UBA is better than ACCESS when looking at 2022 data and year end market prices for investment earlier in the year. But with the closing trade of 2023 half year, ACCESS has dusted UBA further behind. It will be interesting to see mid year audited data for the banks. I wonder what exchange rate they will use for preparing their books.
Q1 Shows a difference in earnings between them. Might account for the gap going forward if access keeps up with the stellar performance in the remaining 2qtrs. My opinion

Maybe if the movt is more aggressive like fbnh, we might see that. A lot of OS plays another role in the price movt too

EllahLakes has even been there before Okomuoil and Presco. They were formally in fishing business before this new investor called CBO took over them

Very soon, they will be coming out with a right issue of 1,000,000,000 units @ N2.90

I spoke with the financial adviser and the company MD and they both confirmed this.

ELLAHLAKES has been listed on the NGX for 3 or 4 years without generating any revenue. I didn't even know it was possible to list a company that is not generating revenue. They are involved in cassava and palm oil, and this penny stock looks like it could 5x in value once they start generating profits. But until then... undecided
The palm oil business hasn't even started yet

The numbers for champion brewery from that report isn't bad. It just that they haven't paid any dividend in a long time. The year they promised to resume payment, COVID-19 and lockdown spoiled business. Hopefully they can return value to shareholders.

Nahco closed at N17.25k, a guy sold the stock at N6.00 because his average cost was less than N3.50k.

He is still waiting for a pull back.

I told him 3 months ago that the intrinsic value of Nahco was N14. Nothing bad if he could get it at N10, but he was still waiting for a major pull back.

The revised intrinsic value of Nahco based on the growth, current efficiency and profitability of the business should be N20
If the mgt double down on performance going by Q1 results in the remaining 3qtrs. I won't be selling my kaya very soon because the dividend will be too sweet to let go

I think you're very correct with the RTB and, especially Courtville sir.

For newbies, Courtville is going to pay 0.48k as buy-out Price, present price doesn't justify it.....pls know what you're buying into ooo.......
You've been encouraged to ask questions before buying any of these stocks, if you follow oldbies to buy anyone, don't come here and blame anybody.
That was one of the reasons I mentioned it. People can get lucky and it does another champion brewery price increase before finally going private

Courteville did an MTO to buyout minority shareholders at 0.48k. price is currently at 0.63k. Good for shareholders who didn't sell

pz has a board meeting slated for today to deliberate on their 2022 financial report. The outcome will give a clearer path for this stock.
Depends on when he entered. I have a BEP of less than 7naira with my remaining holdings after I sold 50% to recoup my initial investment. If he is like me with such BEP, I won't worry for now as they can declare as much as #2 given their history of dividend payout ratio and a current eps of about 2.6 excluding Q4 earnings. But if he's a new entrant above 15, he should define his investment objective. BBM says he see from his chart it's headed to over 25 all things being equal.

But like you said, a little patience won't 🤕

You are coreect. Access now has a better dividend yield to UBA.
UBA paid N1 (compare with current price)
Access paid N1.50(compare with current price)

But Uba may soon respond.
Access paid 1.30 while UBA did 0.90k

Access should touch 16 then when you combine interim dividend of 0.30(except it changes) and final of 1.30

This is where the Prepaid Metre campaign should go a long way, at my area, we do not bother calling them when the transformer goes of they all switch to Gen, the Disco on their own come and fix it cos they lose revenue after 3 days. The so-called Prepaid credit sellers are the ones disturbing the Discos on our behalf
Baba running generator these days is a tall order considering fuel price. We have prepaid where I live but we still have to pay them or at least buy replacement parts on our own because waiting on them can take months to get sorted.

MrOkenwa:
I think the govt and the discos need to beam their lights on the activities of these CDAs.
I was told we’ll pay 250k(recently increased from 150k) to connect to the national grid.
Now, Mr Chairman has decided to flex his muscles by telling us that we will have to pay 750k because we have 3 buildings on the property. And these folks do anything they want as far as connecting to their community grid is concerned. They disconnect people when they so wish.
Discos can't do anything because the electricity was installed with communal effort and there's also gross irresponsibility on their part as well. They don't replace transformers or shoulder any maintenance responsibility except it's on the transmission lines to their substation or that affects a large portion of their distribution network and I believe you know this already. That said, there's no justification for asking you to pay 750k for connecting 3buildings on the same land area. 250k should suffice and I think you can challenge him with the estate constitution if nothing of such is written therein

A reduction in pms or white product consumption will translate to lower profits for the downstream business. I don't see how that is good for the market players in terms of their revenue but time will tell.
