The first issue is how the 5000 was arrived at does it include foundation? How many bedrooms. The 5000 blocks looks like a lot for a floor.

At sango otta between 7k to 8k per 90 9" blocks or 100 6" blocks should suffice.

Aside from this money, is it standard practice to pay for carry blocks separately from the ground floor to the first floor or it is all inclusive. My bricklayer said 20naira/block asides 4500 for bricklayer and 3000 for labourer

A few factors affect the pricing of a job.
Where is your Location?

The quoted price averages at about #108/Block, which is quite excessive and it should not even be counted per Block.

There is a Bricklayer someone here recommended, some years back. he worked on my place and that of another Nairalander (and non member in Diaspora) and does a very good job and his prices are "reasonable".

Good morning everyone, I need input on labor for the first floor of my build.

Block is estimated to be about 5000pcs and bricklayer has quoted 540,000 naira as labor for setting blocks on the first floor. This doesn't include the pillars or lintel concrete work. What will be a fair price to negotiate per block.

Also, do labor price increase per floor or it's same.

What they need is the copper . Copper is very expensive now and one thing that baffles me most is the amount they are are selling those cables .. The last one that happened on my site, the river all cables worth of 975k and sold it as scrap for just 25k .. imagine that. Unemployment is the main issues in this country.

Use ratio 1:2:3 for the concrete floor with 125-150mm thickness for medium to high vechicular loads.

How much vehicular load is medium or less. Vehicular for the property doesn't fall under high load. Thank you

For concrete floors or stamped concrete, what's the correct mix ratio for a residential building(rental) and what thickness is recommended.

That's why we want to install all windows and doors first.

Finish everything before running the wires and electrical fittings. Buglars do cut windows except you have a guard in place. My build was buggled last month, wires in 3 of the flats carted away. This even happened after we mounted the gates with just a small opening left

Also asides from a faulty speed sensor, what could cause the speedometer to stop working. Other questions I have pertains to
1. fuel gauge doesn't read correctly as well

What could cause a car to Rev very high on cold start above 2000rpm. Was always that high before my last servicing. I remember seeing the mechanic removing the air filter compactment during the servicing. Car is 09 Corolla

I think the supplier played a fast one thinking no one will check the dimensions.

How many days does it take to mount a manual sliding gate with the pillars and what is a fair price for labor.

Bricklayer is asking for 35k for the brick work including digging the foundation for the pillar and where the gate will roll on.

Also what's the best way to tackle water entering from the car seat bolts even with the bolts there. (Pic 1) The 2 open holes are for hand brake covers. I discovered it was rusty and tried to fix it but the nuts under got broken. After welding it, water still comes through it.

10tyre truck was delivered in Ota for 40k this morning for me. Don't know if that's 20ton.

Someone shared a picture some months back on a different way to cover block walls with sand, cement and paint instead of the conventional plastering.

I am looking for contact of people who do such jobs with Sango ota or Lagos.

1. Please, how many planks can I buy for the decking, as I already have 60 marine boards to use with planks (this is to reduce cost) dimension of the building is 12 by 23

2. How many bamboo will I require?

3. The carpenter to do the form work for the decking is requesting 550k for his workmanship. Is it not too much?

550k is too much for carpenter. I did more than twice the size for 450k and he provided everything. Prices have gone up but not to that figure. You should get a second carpenter to price the job and weigh your options.

I actually negotiated from 600k to 450k for the job.
