The question is not about religion. Prof Soyinka should know better. Which religion is creating the havoc? It is a good thing he has spoken about Nigeria. This is a place where christian churches have established schools to educate several millions at affordable prices, where churches distribute food and medications for free on daily basis, where truce is brokered by churches among couples, families and communities. It is outrageous to lump all faiths together. All faiths are different. The christian church have indeed been catalysts of development in Nigeria for decades upon decades. |
This is a bad move cos more people will lose their jobs while the owners of the companies involved will not be affected.
You are very correct. These guys will try to sabotage the economy. That is their stock in trade. They will really try to stifle things. |
Nice office. As someone has said, ASO ROCK is the lie about Nigeria. Once you are in you cannot think again. The opulence is irrelevant to Nigeria. But that is not the fault of our dear president....Ghana's late president did not move from his personal house, but some Nigerians may even kill to get to sit in this office. As far as I am concerned, Aso Rock should be turned into a medical school or a college of agriculture and a simpler and relevant office be used for our presidency. Thats when we will start to see development. If you are placed in this present Aso Rock you will start seeing all 170 million Nigerians as your servants and you will see yourself as king, whereas it should be the other way round! |
For those praising the President, don't forget its just the suspension and not total cancellation until further and proper enlightnment is carried out by CBN. I therefore advise you all to reserve/suspend your praises because what this means is that before the end of the President's tenure in 2015 (or 2019 if he decides to seek re-election and wins) this idea may still be forced upon us in the future.
Thank you. Abati said the matter is suspended to allow CBN to properly educate Nigerians. Why all the praises? The whole debate on this matter was unnecessary. Sanusi ought to have gotten FG endorsement before making the announcement. Why announce and then go for endorsement? Would anyone try that with OBJ? Why not wanting to make comparisons, GEJ needs to take charge and stop allowing the country waste time and energy on irrelevancies while schools, hospitals, roads etc are facing gross abandonment. |
BAD and DRACONIAN POLICY. It is like shutting down the economy, particularly in a country where it is so unsafe to drive in the night. Trailers will have more accidents as they wont see the roads (POT HOLES + NO LIGHTS. There could be more casualties. The way to solve the incidence of accidents during the day is to stop trailers that are not road-worthy. Containers fall off trailers just because they are not well latched and because the trailers are too old. Please tell Fashola not to shut down the economy. |
Te banks will possibly charge you additional N100 for Coins Withdrawal! So, imagine you want to withdraw N1000, the equation will be as follows: Transaction Fee for notes = N100 Transaction Fee for Coins = N100 Notes dispensed = N500 x 1 = N500 Coins dispensed = N50 x 6 = N300 You wont need a bowl to collect this. Its just that the coins could drop off and roll into a nearby gutter. Essentially, out of your N1000, you may end up with only N600. The high networth customer has a different story. He wants to withdraw N1,000,000 (One million naira). Transaction Fee Notes = N100 Transaction Fee Coins = Not applicable Notes Dispensed = N5000 x 200 Coins dispensed = Nil The fellow just pockets his N1m and walks away unnoticed. Up Sanusi! |
cesil92: Naija Aso Rock TrendThis 'bed rest' is really taking too long! Dr Reuben Abati, would you not need to quickly look for another story? |
crackhouse: Abacha entered with his wife and died leaving his wife behind, Obasanjo entered with his wife and his wife died leaving him behind, Yar' adua entered with his wife and died leaving his wife behind, Jonathan entered with his wife and now we have been thrown into suspense like that of yar' adua. Wetin dey for this Aso rock sef?.Interesting. Very interesting observations. Nigerians need to pray! |
Why did REUBEN ABATI and the Federal Government lie to the nation? Now the cat is let out of the bag. The first lady is indeed taking a rest!!! Fellow Nigerians, please pray for her to recover soon. |
Something truly needs to give. Peg the allowance of Senators at US$10,000 per annum (GROSS) and the noise will stop. |
I suspect there will be more of those things. The Arabs are the ones to say to themselves that they will not be provoked. Innocent people are now being killed but those who make the provocations wine and dine after making more money selling their stuff. |
CPC must be a joke to even think of this! |
Tell us why they abducted you please. |
mkmyers45: Didnt you read the op? Its an add-on featureOk. We await the 'add-on' feature. Someone is attempting to push the debate away from N5000 bill! Keep it up. |
Ok o. Bring it on! |
My question is this? Should the whole world go on fire just because one individual makes a jest about islamic prophets? |
N10 million! That is just 2000 pieces of Sanusi's N5000 wonder note. Our governors, assemblymen and ministers don't see that amount as anything. With N5000 bill by Sanusi, that can go into your side pocket unnoticed. Cashlite indeed! |
SOLUDO = SOLUTIONS LAMIDO = LAMENTATIONS OBJ = OBJECTIVITY |
SLS is doing his own 'national awards'. At any rate, the three women he is awarding are perhaps better off than the modern day highest bidder 'GCONS' whose records and reputation are highly questionable. |
They all keep attacking OBJ but they have ALL-TOGETHER not achieved 5% of what OBJ achieved! |
[ INDEED WIHT SANUSI AS CBN GOVERNOR AND DUDE IN VILLA, WITHOUT AN URGENT INTERVENTION BOTH OF THEM WILL RUN NIGERIA INTO ECONOMIC CATASROPHe
You have hit the nail on the head! |
Where is the wedding band? |
Sanusi will not stop at it until he destroys the economy. He sees himself as the de facto president of Nigeria and he is so sure GEJ will endorse whatever he says! We have elected a president who does not like to preside. That's the problem! Who will now call the CBN man to order? Even if the new bill will not cause inflation why waste money experimenting? Why kill the kobo? Certainly his policy will lead to the total burial of the already comatose kobo? A few years ago when they introduced N1000 they said there will be only a few. Now thats the only bill on ATMs, and that is what people want to carry. I never believe the statistics churned out by government! At best they are guestimates, and that is why I do not believe that flimsy claim that N5000 will not cause inflation. Please remind SMS of this one thing. What was USD exchange rate to Naira before N1000 was introduced and what is it now? This N5000 if introduced will lead to DEVALUATION, pure and simple. Someone should stop SMS because he is proving unstoppable! Mr President, please be president! The Ghana model is better, please. SOLUDO tried to do it before he left. Decimate this currency and give value to Naira and Kobo. Let N5000 simply become N50. Let the price per litre of PMS be 97kobo instead of N97. God save Nigeria. |
This depicts the state of the nation. Gross abandonment of values, of infrastructure, health , education and what have you....Leaders only care about their pockets these days. |
Shame And we still want to spend Naira40billion to print N5000 bills. Nigeria has never had such a wasteful government. Never! |
No alternative to exercise..... send me a note if you need further advise.... |
Talk talk! |
afam4eva: Resign Sir...Yes, perhaps that is the price to pay! |
Get well soon madam. |
Time will tell. |
We really do not know what we are doing in this country any more. Government is pathetically CLUELESS. One prominent name in the OIL SUBSIDY scandal is also appearing prominently in the honours list! Some of our leaders are truly fighting hard to destroy Nigeria. May they not succeed. If you have any of these awards may as well throw in in the trash bin. It is now worthless. |
Madam, Please keep your eye on the regulatory bodies. Aviation authorities stink from what we have been told. Leave the business of building new terminals to private companies. That is global best practice! |
