The people concerned should purge out the war mongers from their midst.

If the people have some sense they will realize that a second call for Biafra is a call to anarchy. That you have a Biafra state today does not grant you utopia, the same forces contending against Nigeria could threaten that small state.

Fight the root, not the symptoms.

Most of the shareholders @ FirstBank who make up the millions have investments under 50k naira, so to pay dem no hard n besides have u ever bought bank stocks for example? Does the bank pay u dividends monthly?
You are right. They dont pay monthly. They dont have to.

Investments carry a lot more risk than just getting a job. If it were so cheap and so easy to make money buying first bank shares, then the queue should be endless, for people rushing to buy.

You didn't read my initial post bro, I gave 2 conditions to take 30k as a fresh graduate... to amaze you I thought for the same 30k but Lord knew it was a make shift.

This is the same me that sat at home for 7 months all to my shakara before I got what I wanted, so then again it's about perception.

I saw graduates scramble for 30k jobs at ikeja, to me I felt something was wrong with them reasons being that those jobs were not temporary nor a short trainee period. I once embarrassed myself in an interview panel of 2 when they offered 40k...

I attended interviews with top firms like sawobona, Venture garden group, Fidson, signal alliance, Meristem securities, etc the A-list before I got what I'm doing now. So you see bro, it's self worth and not accepting peanuts no matter what. I purposely contributed to this thread to help correct that peanut mentality most graduate carry about.

Na gra gra to do jungle justice back man get, we can't unite to end all these monkey salaries.
Well I dont know about graduates scrambling for work. There must be some dignity in what a man does. Yes, certainly a man should draw a line somewhere. I do certainly agree.

At the same time some perceptions need to be corrected. The pay one is offered is not everything. What is the job expectation? Is there training? Do they have a positive work culture? Is there some room to spot talent? is the employer fair in terms of delivering the salary that was promised? Do they take care of medicals?

I do not think it is just right for people to throw things out without checking the real content!

Of course there are notices you see on the walls - Workers needed 50k per month - No graduate worth his/her salt should go in for those.

The abuses people rain on employers are sometimes not fair. It is not as easy to run organizations as people think and that is why just too many graduates start out job seeking. Too few are ready to venture into business.

At the end of the day a job is meant to provide a platform for a person to showcase his talents and deliver results, not to show how 'graduate' I am. I believe in your own case you got it right but guess what? there are people who still miss out on this basis.

All the best.

I'll like to be discrete, my bench mark as at then was 60-70K, which I eventually got (all thanks to God)... 1 step above that now though, and still pushing...
Congrats to you. And let us learn to give the glory to God.

But please dont look down or talk down on those who started with less.

At the end of the day it is how well a man finishes that matters. In a race, some start so strong and end up last. Some start slow and win the race. It is how you finish.

I pray that as you started well you will also finish well.

Nigerians should turn down offers, it's a legit opinion and it will make companies to pay much more than they are offering now. For example First bank Owerri (HQ) pay 61k(2014 salary) to OND holders. in that branch they employ only 4 degree holders(they earn over 200k per month + upfront) and 26 OND holders .... These guys basically work 10 - 12 hours daily.

Yet first bank will make an average of 2 - 4 billion naira monthly as profits and yet pay out peanuts.

It's not about pride or humility.

If we had stronger unions or institutions, our youths won't be exploited like this.

In conclusion, firms should pay in accordance to what they earn/job description...... Nigerian firms always exploit our graduates because they know we have no other option.

Lack of education is why we do not know we should turn out some jobs.

In some cases Degree holders earn 15k in nigeria, this is far less than what a tomato seller, shoemaker, basic carpenter, plumber makes in a month
You may have a point.

About First Bank making 2 billion monthly - please dont forget that firstbank did not fall from the sky. people have shares there they bought with money. they deserve dividends! if yo share the profits to the staff what would the investors get? Dont forget there are millions of them!

I am not saying that employers should pay peanuts, but please put yourself in their shoes. If it is that easy no one will look for work in the first place.

Stop feeling entitled!
Nobody was forced to pursue tertiary education, it was choice.

Nobody owes graduate anything.

Anyone that can't take 30k should sit down at home
or start their own business.
Correct.

Our graduates need to go to Europe and learn. You get paid for the result you make nor the paper qualification you carry. It is so unfortunate that our schools do not prepare people for the workplace. Or maybe it is the people who dont want to learn. Some CEOs in europe never went to the university but were so sharp that their results shot them to the top, and once they get to the top you see universities lining up to award them PhD. Yet here you find some PhD that are simply not employable and have to hide their advanced degrees just to get jobs.

We have minimum wage, it is 18k per month.
Its part of the problem. A lot of folks are so ignorant about many things, dont even know what the minimum wage is, but just want to go round claiming how graduate they are.., instead of going out there to learn! a graduate was asked to say the fulling meaning of B.Sc and she failed it!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigerians Argue On Twitter Over N30,000 Job Vacancy For Graduate by Dee60: 4:38pm On Jul 14, 2017
It makes sense to start from somewhere.

It is also not wise to spend millions going to school and end up sitting idly at home!

Go to Ikeja, Lekki, Yaba, Surulere and see many graduates loafing about because they dont want to accept the so called small jobs.

Employers are not finding it easy. Many have been forced to close shop.

A company as big as Etisalat just left Nigeria. Do you think they found it that easy? Now Etisalat workers are looking around for any job available in the market. So many SMEs are closing shop.

Some people are taking the opportunity they have for granted.

That you have a good job or you are making profits in your business does not mean you are smarter than others. That you have some uncle somewhere still giving you stipends does not make you smarter.

Time and chance!

Thank God if you have a well paying job but please dont despise anyone who has to accept 35k or 40k instead of sitting down at home.

Your people did not spend so much to now have you sit at home. Some are not job sitting at home, they are employing dirty tactics to make money, like messing around for money.

Dont listen to them. Go and and work and get good experience. You may earn 35k today and in 5 years be earning 3.5million. You wot get anywhere just sitting at home. Get started.

The man who is labelling 35k as nonsense, I wonder if he has employees and how much he is paying them.

As a graduate you need experience. If the truth be told, most of what you learn in the universities these days do not prepare you for the challenge of the workplace.

If you dont want to become another evans, go and work. Once you start and you are making good impact, ask your employer for a raise. If you are good at your job he wont want to loose you.

Well spoken. None, I repeat none can stop this Islamic movement that will Herald the antichrist and the end. Lets understand the scriptures. To attempt to stop it is to delay the second coming of Christ. Europe as it is has been overtaken my Islam or what's left on Nigeria. Nothing.
It will be nice to quote scriptures to support that claim. Some feel that Islam is not the threat but a fast growing secularization that surpresses anything called faith and promotes things like LGBT....Countries are making laws to stop faith movements and to persecute Christians....Is that not what we should watch out for?

By the way, being Christians does not mean we should be docile. Dont speak against those who are challenging islamisation of nigeria.

The government urgently or very urgently needs to reform the Police. What are the problems? Police is understaffed, the personnel are grossly under-trained and under-paid and under catered for! Also, they are wrongly deployed - checking vehicle papers and securing the rich and the politicians.

So it seems they are overwhelmed. today, Ikorodu, tomorrow Mushin or Ajah or Ajegunle! Do they have the personnel? Do they have tools for investigations? Are they well insured or motivated?

Daddy Shokey is right - Government should urgently PRIORITIZE security.

The problem is that the citizens are easily carried away when government re-furbish, decorate and paint roads or build bore-holes. These things are good but they do not bring development to society.

Nigeria needs real development. The citizens have to be educated, and re-educated. As it is, if you are a government focusing on security, health, education, it is likely your citizens will abuse you and call you names. They prefer to see roads being re-painted and bore-holes. They even hail governors who are sharing rice and ponmo on the streets, to those who are building for the future.

The people must share a big part of the blame!

Christians are praying for the president to get well, not only the president but all those looking to God for good health. Christians are called to spread good news. This pattern remains.

People who are always talking bad and seeing bad need to check themselves and pray for deliverance.

We are told that the 1 hour meeting took place in Abuja house (a residence, not a hospital). It may just be accurate that he is recuperating in a 'house'. I wont be the judge, but i will believe the VP.

People spilling bad news should just be ignored, I think.

In today's world that you are travelling does not make you less acting president! Same as a travelling CEO of a bank, he does not cease to be CEO because he went to Hawaii. The office goes with him. It is a different ball game if he is on vacation or if he travels for medicals. In the acting president's case there was no vacuum. Let us not forget that Osinbajo is a SAN and a professor of law!

PoliticsRe: Governors Describe EFCC Boss, Magu As Deputy Commissioner Of Police by Dee60:
Senators want to become governors and governors aim to go to Senate after their tenure of 4 years x 2.

These two categories COMPETE in terms of who will STEAL the most, so they can pay their way to their coveted future. They even have enough in their loot to try to even buy the judiciary.

So, now they both have a common enemy, Magu!

The vampires in the Senate are thirsty for his blood, and now the governors have joined.

They are holding the nation captive in the meantime.

Please ask our Senate, do they still remember to make and amend laws? In a country where the laws are so moribund you have a law-making body, spending hundreds of billions annually, and trying hard to become pseudo-executive or second executive, abandoning their primary duty in the process.

Some of these guys are worse than Mr Evans! They hold the nation captive, demanding their ransom. Now they want blood, on top of the stolen wealth of the nation.

Nigerians are crying out but they turn deaf ears to the cries.

They should remember - Everyday for the thief.........

Certainly there are some governors or senators that don't belong to this vampire cult, but it looks those are in the very minor minority.

PoliticsRe: Agbakoba Rejects Restructuring, Backs Nnamdi Kanu by Dee60: 8:27am On Jul 05, 2017
I am not from the SE but must agree with Agbakoba on these points:

1. The political elites calling for restructuring are liars. They want to use the platform for election. Even PMB was oncee quoted as saying that Nigeria was 'structured to fail' but the moment he got there he changed tune.

2. The Ibos have been left behind a long time. however I feel the Ibos should realize they are not the only ones at the receiving end of a brutal and wicked political elite force.

3. IBB, Atiku & Co (even though Agbakoba did not mention names) should not tell us what we need. We say to them, Doctor, heal thyself!

4. Secession may not be the answer (I dont believe it is) but at least people should be allowed to speak!

Whether you are in the SE or SW, or NW or NE there is a common enemy. The political elite. They caused the problem in the first place and they have fed fat in the midst of the confusion. What should bother us is not how to break apart but how to deal with this disease and malaise called the political elite. Forget all the rantings of FFK, Fayodse and others. They are all part of the rot. Thats my own thought. I pray that God will send us answers.

PoliticsRe: "I Heard The Audio Inciting Northerners To Slaughter Igbos On Oct 1" – FFK by Dee60:
Not surprised. Only a man who hears strange voices behaves and speaks the way you do!

Seek deliverance quickly, so that the things you are hearing will stop.

And make sure you are not inhaling anything behind closed doors.

I will also advise you keep quiet for some time, maybe like a year, so that your nerves will calm. Though if you have something good to say, that should pass.

Nigerians do not want war and those who are hearing strange voices and clamoring for war shall be frustrated. Amen.

Those who have jobs, hausa, ibos, yoruba or fulanis are busy looking for livelihood.

Nigerians are hardworking and willing to carry the flag anywhere they go, except some very few ones, who no longer have access to the purse and who are bent on scattering everything.

840+million down the drain, in the name of doing electoral campaign, and that is still not enough. Abeg, please stop hearing voices!
