valacious:
For me its better to be adored and loved by someone i dont really 'love' becos i'll have more peace of mind, than to keep making efforts to love someone who doesnt reciprocate. Talk about being selfish, but we humans are natural egoists.
You will have peace, and wont post anoda topic here again for advice.
You said it already. That's just plain selfish. And trust me, not every1 is that selfish!

Wow. Great read!! Very hilarious too!

The part about driving past bridges at 29 to determine which to jump off when you're 30 got me laughing sooooo hard my whole house shook!

This marriage thing sef. We can't run away from it. And we cant kill ourselves
So like the article suggests, deal with it!!

^^lol. . .I detest that word - efrebor.

But IT Girl has said she isn't fornicating so I guess advising her to use condoms would be out of place. . .?
RomanceRe: What Do U Do When The Wrong One Loves You Right? by DeepSoul(f): 1:21pm On Jun 06, 2010
It is better to love than to be loved.

Loving someone is zi best feeling in zi world. If zi person doesn't love you back, then it's your fault.
Before you give out your heart, shine your eye well well and analyse that decision to love.
I'm not saying loving is an entirely conscious act, but it isn't entirely unconscious either.
When you meet certain people, you should be able to tell if there is potential for you to love that person and vice versa.
If after analysing, it's clear that there's no "potential balance", DISTANCE yourself and spare yourself zi headache.

As for me, I am slower than a snail when it comes to loving. Because this love thing sha, e dey mess people's brains up.

Some months ago, I met some dude who claimed to love me more than even his mother grin
For some reason, I see/saw him as genuine. He's a very decent person. I'm shocked to discover there are men as decent as that left in zi world!
But I just don't feel nada for zi dude and I tell him every second.
He calls me like he owns MTN, alwayz on my case. (not like that's a proof of love anyway! jst proof of persistence!)
Recently, his so-called love was beginning to border on stalking and I had to be firm and set things straight.
To cut zi long story short, I deleted my number from his phone, as part of zi steps to his recovery. (Rehab grin)
We had a a long adult talk and I made it clearer than crystal that I would never feel anything for him.
No sweet talks. No trying to be diplomatic. Straight to zi point.
And now, he no longer has my mobile number so my battery power stays longer grin

IT Girl, stay with the one you love.
Love covereth a multitude of sins. It's easier to tolerate sm1's shortcomings when you love em'
If you settle for sm1 you don't love, everything will start to irritate you at some point. Be wise.

FoodRe: Mention Your Cooking Disasters Here by DeepSoul(f): 6:18pm On Jun 03, 2010
My first attempt at cooking afang (ukazi) soup resulted in me forgetting to grind or atleast cut up the ukazi leaves!! shocked shocked
I put the leaves in the pot in their whole state shocked shocked

But make una no blame me sha, the leaves are naturally thinly shredded.
After cooking the soup, it almost tasted ok and it took me about and hour to figure out what made it "almost sweet" - I didnt chop up the leaves.

I hope my future husband never gets to read or hear this grin

Car TalkRe: Your Worst Okada Experience? by DeepSoul(f): 1:45pm On May 27, 2010
It was a rainy morning. Woke up really late for work. Took a bike from Lekki (3rd roundabout) to VI.
Right after Civic Centre on Ozumba Mbadiwe, the bike man tried to apply his "brakes" in a bid to avoid a collision with a lunatic who was trying to beat the red light.

Next thing I saw was myself rolling on the floor right in the middle of Lekki Expressway. Okada man managed to jump away somehow
I still find it hard to believe there was no oncoming vehicle in the about 30seconds my body uncontrollably rolled on the floor.
I was just so dazed, because it all happened in a flash. People rushed over to me, asking if I needed to go to the hospital and all.

Still in my haze and daze, I just shook my head and flagged down another okada who took me to the office.

And then to crown it all, the rain intensified and I was soaked from head to toe.
I didnt mind tho. I was glad to be alive to get beaten by the rain smiley

To deepsoul, lets have a tete - a - tete; change that "dry cleaning" to laundry.
In this context, "laundry" would sound a little high scale. . .like Nathans or Garment Care. . . .
Or so I thought/think.
FamilyRe: Finding It Difficult Managing N80k Salary In Lagos With Family.what Shall I Do? by DeepSoul(f): 10:07am On May 22, 2010
80k na money oh! I recently used 80k to buy women sandals and re-sold. And I have made almost a 100% profit in less than a month, with little or no stress.
It's all about identifying the right product and right market. Buy low, sell high and vooala!
There are sooo many opportunities ALL around us but unfortunately, most people always wait to start big. Big mistake!

@Poster:
You and your wife should sit down and analyse your situation. Find out where her strengths lie and what sort of business would be appropriate for your environment. A few ideas below:

1) Hair Braiding ( I pay about 4k to braid my hair monthly - huge market!)
2) Tailoring (she can always go for tailoring classes, they dnt cost much)
3) Dry Cleaning (huge market - which Im personally considering)
4) Catering ( she could open a small restaurant). I once saw a woman who set up a canopy with wooden benches and put her food in coolers and she was making a fortune! She can decide to do general cooking or something more specific e.g moin-moin. And if she's really good at it, it just might become her trade mark!

The above listed are small businesses which can be easily initiated with minimal capital and most importantly, can be done from home!

Good luck.

If I'm in a relationship, I can give him treats every now and then, but generally, the tabs shd be picked by him! Sue me.

PoliticsRe: Cocaine Smuggling Politician Arrested by DeepSoul(f): 10:59am On May 19, 2010
^^Well, inasmuch as every life is precious, ther's a difference here.

When people are used for rituals, it is done involuntarily. They didnt choose to be used.
Cocaine consumption, on the other hand, is for people who voluntarily choose to sniff it.
No1 points a gun to their head for them to sniff. I wonder what makes them "innocent"
PoliticsRe: Cocaine Smuggling Politician Arrested by DeepSoul(f): 10:37am On May 19, 2010
People, let's look at the bright side.

In 1999, the major way of raising funds for elections was through ritual activities eg cutting off body parts
In 2010, smuggling cocaine is the ish. Atleast the lives of innocent people are now being spared.

So I say yes to smuggling cocaine and catching them at the airport!

For those people who claim to spend ONE HOUR in the toilet, let's do a little Mathematics.

Mr A spends ONE HOUR poo-ing for every "session"
If Mr A has THREE sessions every week (conservative figure)
How many HOURS does Mr A spend on poo in FIFTY YEARS?
