Lol. I no get wetin to talk na. Now you're gonna make me talk by force!

Erm erm, well, methinks you're still very youthful hence the need for space. And it isn't fully based on your age. I know someone who is 30+ but has the need for "space", just like you. It is not a very "mature need" (if there's anything like that"wink.

You should learn to stick it out and fix whatever issues you have regardless of how boring it may seem. That's what being an adult entails. It's not like I'm an old mama, Im also in my early 20's but I was forced to learn this early enough. It's called "committment".

On the other hand sha, you still have "small time" to explore. But do not expect your bobo to fold his hands waiting for his exploration princess. By the time you decide to come back, d bobo go don waka. You cannot eat your cake and still have it in your fridge!! (Except you be winch grin)
RomanceToasting In Church? by DeepSoul(op): 2:04pm On Jul 11, 2010
Today after service, I was jejelly on my own when one "brother" tapped me and told me he had been observing me for a while and thought it the right time to declare his "affection(s)".

I was so uncomfortable I didnt know what response to give. Instead I proceeded to ask him what department he was in bla bla (small talk).

He asked for my phone number and I told him "we'd talk next Sunday".

I am definitely not interested in giving out my number nor having any conversation about the matter with this guy, but I am somewhat uncomfortable about communicating that to him. I'd easily be able to decline if a random guy stops me on the street or in a restaurant. But because it's a church environment, I'm undecided about the best negative response to give that would not make me look "insensitive".

What's the best friendly way to tell this "brother" no?

I dnt need to sell my house and everything I own to prove I believe in God.
Being a true Christian means my life should be examplary enough to make people want to serve the God I serve.
The way you choose to live your life can be a testimony to those around you.
The gospel can be spread in a gazillion ways, my friend.
I dont have to go around carrying a microphone, shouting at people to give their lives to Christ.

And by the way, I'm still in that process. . .It's a journey. . .and it is my desire to get to the end!
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo Speaks On T.b Joshua by DeepSoul(f): 12:20am On Jul 08, 2010
So TB Joshua attended Primary and Secondary schools??
Oh wow! And his father was even "learned" way before the arrival of the white men!
Impressive

And yet, somehow, he did not know how to read nor write nor speak English!
(I think he has improved in recent times due to obvious coaching)
How come? Was he asleep during English lessons??

I have never liked TB Joshua. If he likes, let him become Mother Theresa herself. It wont change nada.
But then, neither do I fancy Chris Oyakhilome and co. and their various styles.

In short, these days, it's just me and my God jare. All these pple sef, only God knows. Why break our heads over them? undecided

RomanceRe: We Have Seperated More Than 4 Times Yet I Still Want To Marry Her by DeepSoul(f): 5:43pm On Jun 30, 2010
^^Lol@peculiar to Ph! If only it was, I'd have moved out ages ago!

My case is sad because my partner just doesnt believe in talking! I mean, isn't that just insane?? I do something to him and he decides not to tell me so he doesn't come across as being a "nag" (or something along that line). If it ended there, we wouldn't have a problem. But he subsequently stores up all these supposed wrongs and "pain" inside him and one day just explodes from it! And when that happens, there's an almost absolute cut in communication from him! Without any warning and still refusing to tell me what my crime was/is.

Even criminals who are convicted of an offence are informed of what their offence was/is just before they are arrested. And it goes on like that till his sanity is restored. Back and forth, all over. It's tiring.

Sometimes, I might not see anything wrong in what I did; but b'cus it hurt u, I should understand u dont like it and apologize.

RomanceRe: Can Marriage To A Beautiful Woman Keep A Man From Philandering? by DeepSoul(f): 5:27pm On Jun 30, 2010
All men are animals.
Some are cute puppies that can be kept at home.
Some are wild, uninhibited animals that belong in the forest.
But they are basically all just animals. They say it's instinctive. Who knows undecided

Even pastors are not spared these days.
If you like marry Marilyn Monroe, one day, boredom go surely catch you.
And then, it'll be entirely up to you to decide to act or not act.
Discipline, my friends!
RomanceRe: We Have Seperated More Than 4 Times Yet I Still Want To Marry Her by DeepSoul(f): 4:56pm On Jun 30, 2010
I'm in a somewhat similar situation. Known my Bf for three years now and in these three years, we've broken up once for three months.
We've had series of "breaks in transmission" totalling 7 months. So total time apart = 10 months.
In three years, we've been apart for 10 months. Surely that isn't a good thing. . .??

There are married couples I know who have told us this is normal in a r/ship. I however do not fully agree. If one or both parties tend(s) to run away and "blank out" whenever there's an issue rather than work towards sorting it out, surely that signifies a problem, abi doesn't it??

This thing is eating me up. . .Anyway sha. . .

@OP:
I know that feeling of it not feeling right with any other person. Just follow ur heart sha, and most importantly, pray about it. The only thing that worries me about ur issue is that fact that you do not have a house yet. If u can try and save up a certain % of ur salary every month just for that purpose, it would help. . .The 40k salary doesn't stop you from proposing, but it does restrict having a wedding. If u wanna propose, do so! Afterall who knows, you just might get a better job along the line! First things first sha, try and get a house! And if "Joy" has any source(s) of income, it wouldnt hurt for her to supplement. Good luck oh!
PoliticsRe: Gov Amaechi Stops Nddc Boss Convoy by DeepSoul(f): 12:48am On Jun 30, 2010
^^He has increased (doubled?) the number of doctors and nurses in the state
He established about a 100 Health Centers.

He has built schools and rehabilitated old ones. And I daresay the quality of these structures would last for a very very long time (even with our poor maintenance culture).

He has facilitated the training of teachers in the state.

I'm sure he has done a whole lot more but those are the ones I am aware of. And for me, it's impressive that he's making efforts to improve two very important sectors - Education and health.

It's not about being optimistic nor pessimistic; It's about being faced with facts. And the fact is Amaechi has done enough in such a short time to show the ineffectiveness of the Odilli regime which lasted 8yrs!!

So pls forgive us for being excited. . . .

@Poster: Brave of u to do this. . . .NL could be a good place to meet people. . .but me sha, I cannot tow this line. . .

On the other hand, I'm beginning to realise that the "Singles Market" is quite a large one, business wise!
I know tons of men looking for wives and tons of women looking for husbands.
Rather than hook them up for free, I fit start to collect fees oh!
Running a match making agency no go bad at all. . .just that these 9ja people sef, their mentality no be am.

But some people are already fleecing money off desperate singles these days in the name of "Singles Seminars"
Make una beware oh!

Poster, I sha wish you luck in ur search oh!
RomanceRe: Must Read! Its Long Sha by DeepSoul(f): 8:43am On Jun 29, 2010
Wow. I had tears in my eyes at the end of the story.
Communication is key. If you dont get the moral of the story, please read it again. . . .ssslowly this time.

The woman being knocked down by a public bus could have happened on any other day. maybe on a trip to the market, hospital etc.
If there was communication, the mother in-law would have informed her son and his wife of her decision to leave their home and they would have stopped her. From what I deduce, she just irrationally got up and left without informing any one.

If there was effective communication, the minute she found out she was pregnant, she could have explained to her husband why she had thrown up and he would have known she was pregnant. All those bitter feelings he had about her contributing to his mother's death would hv bn non-existent. He would also have told her when he was diagnosed with cancer.

If the wife had known her husband had cancer, who knows how much she would have prayed to God to heal him?? And as we know, prayers solve EVERYTHING

I am particularly touched by this story because I am presently in a somewhat complicated situation caused by miscommunication.
I am so printing this out and giving it to the person who is so unjustly angry towards me.
FoodRe: Cost Of Mama Put Food by DeepSoul(f): 7:47am On Jun 29, 2010
These days, ther's no difference btwn mama put and Mr. Biggs oh! (In terms of prices).

When I was in Lagos, I got food from a popular mama put (Ghana High) on Lagos Island for N300. And that's the cheapest, methinks.

Rice - 200
3 slices of plantain - 50
One piece of beef - 50

But some of them can be expensive oh! Those women who sell behind a Coca-Cola depot on Lagos Island sell a piece of cow tail for as much as N500!! So if you wanna eat a "wholesome" mama put meal, it can get up to a thousand bucks!
PoliticsRe: Gov Amaechi Stops Nddc Boss Convoy by DeepSoul(f): 7:38am On Jun 29, 2010
Anyone who lives in PH had better be nice to any helmet-wearing, power bike-riding male o!
Cos it just might be him. . . .
The other day he got some guy arrested for urinating right on the road!!

The guy is not your regular all talk no action politician. Kudos to him. He's miles ahead of the thieving(ed?) Odilli.
