Thinking about it, even Argentina isn't 100% guranteed a place in the 2nd round.

If by some stroke of fate, Greece defeats Argentina by 3 - 0
And Korea defeats Nigeria by 4 - 0,
All three teams (Argentina, Korea and Greece) would have the same number of points, 6.

In that very unlikely but possible case, Korea and Greece will proceed based on goal difference!

And to think I was a bad Mathematics student  grin

But comparing him to Mutallab is a huge joke, literally!
I hope some people are not really SERIOUSLY taking this comparison SERIOUSLY oh!

What he did has nothing to do with his tribe jor! The guy wasn't even fully conscious of his actions.
It was just a reflex action! I'd like to believe he acted under pressure! Same thing could have happened to Obafemi or Kalu!

Zi peels, zi fruit itself or zi seed??
Cows aren't humans but zi thought of them dying en masse is not pleasant!!
They arent humans but they were given life by God. . . .

And besides, how do we know it's actual poisoning and not food poisoning??
They shd get samples of the supposed poisoned fruits and run tests on them to ascertain zi type of poison.

Typical minority who hates the Igbo. Only 5 million strong compared to our 30+ million.
Onlytruth can give her a break but I wont. I already loathe the Ijaw. Live amongst them while growing up in Port Harcourt and they are nothing but lazy people who only say oil oil oil.
That where I'm different from you. I do not "hate nor loathe" any tribe(s) in Nigeria. Your diction tells us a lot already.
I also agree that a majority of Ijaws are indeed lazy. And it irks me. Being blindly loyal aint my style.
Unlike you, when faced with the truth, I accept. . .rather than turn it to a tribal argument. . .
These ruthless and heartless acts carried out by these Igbo boys directly affects me as I live in a neighbouring town.
And hell, they have kidnapped people close to me to forgive my disapproval!!

I am yet to read one properly constructed statement from you. So I'll assume you can't hold a civilised conversation.

Nchara:
So armed robbers and kidnappers do so for group (non-personal reasons)?
Do Igbo armed robbers and kidnappers do so for the Igbo?
Do hausa and yoruba and Ijaw and Edo robbers and kidnappers do so for their various tribes?
When I said "personal beliefs", I meant they do so based on their belief that witchcraft does exist. Nothing to do with tribe.
People who rob and kidnap do so simply because of greed. It has nothing to do with any personal convictions.
Take off your tribe-tinted glasses for two seconds.

Aloy+Emeka:
How silly people reason baffles me. So all the armed robbers terrorizing Ibadan are Yoruba or armed robbers in Kano are Hausa abi? undecided undecided undecided
I didnt say that. All I'm saying is this new brand of kidnappers currently terrorising innocent people travelling to and from Aba, Owerri or Enugu are definitely Igbo!! An Igbo man will NOT allow an OUTSIDER to set up camp in his village!! Keep you bias aside pls!

PoliticsRe: Aba Kidnappers- Are They All Indigenes? by DeepSoul(f): 1:23am On Jun 08, 2010
So it's now about which tribe gets more coverage from the press?
Besides, those who kill their kids because of suspected witchcraft do so based on their personal beliefs.
Not like that any justification. . .but, just saying. . .

Tell me why the Igbos do these extreme things. . .
Their kidnapping randomly chosen innocent passers by and torturing them is some sort of personal conviction?
They dont even have the common sense to have a target.
They just carry any and everyone they see on the road
What's the difference btwn them doin that and a mad man chasing people up and down the street?

Nchara:
We know that some of the robbers in Lagos are not Yoruba
We know that a cultist and a human ritualists of Yoruba origin have been arrested in port harcourt
We know that some Igbo kidnappers were arrested in northern Nigeria
We know that northern robbers operate in the south and vice versa
But we also know that in this case, it is the Igbos.
I'm not saying the Igbos are responsible for all the crimes in Nigeria.
Just saying this newly-discovered crime and their modus operandi within this particular territory is disturbing!

Anyway, e don do. I don go sleep.

PoliticsRe: Aba Kidnappers- Are They All Indigenes? by DeepSoul(f): 12:52am On Jun 08, 2010
Killing in itself is extreme. So why ask me if Igbos kill in extreme.
Cutting open pregnant women. . .where's that coming from?? Is that a regular occurence?
We are talking about kidnapping and the alarming frequency of its occurence
!!

EzeUche:
^^^^^
Typical minority mindset. Blame the Igbo first.
Minority or majority. I don't see the relvance of that to this topic.
Even when Ijaw boys were blowing up creeks and doing all sorts, I was strongly against it.
I voiced my displeasure as much as I am doing now, or even more.
And I am Ijaw. So pls take the "Everybody-hates-Igbos" arguments elsewhere

Nchara:
Deep soul read my first post. It says that the head of the group looked like a northerner. Of course, no northerner can do kidnapping in Igboland without the Igbo indigenes helping. That much is clear in my posts.
I agree with the boldened part. Now, the question is, would the average Igbo community help a northerner perpetuate evil in his own land??
If yes, what are the possible rational reasons?

Nchara:
And when you talk about ritualism and 419, was there anything like 419 in Nigeria before? Everything was imported from somewhere. Ritualism in all likelihood came from Yorubaland (gbomogbomo which has been in existence for 100s of years) because it was not known in Igboland from adam.
So, before kidnapping got to Rivers, Bayelsa etc, it existed elsewhere, yes?? So we can say it's a cycle. . .maybe.
But my point is, the Igbos have a way of taking things to the extreme.
You claim ritualism might have come from Yoruba land. Maybe.
But the Igbos took it and brutally redefined it. Now they are doing the same with kidapping.

All this one na just political drama. Under-performance, yeah right!
Like even the President himself isn't under-performing.
If Sylva was wise enough to be a Jonathan loyalist, I'm sure no one wld hv noticed his non-performance.
Not like I feel sorry for him anyway. He's definitely the worst Governor Bayelsa State has ever had.
I'll take Alameseigha over him any time!

And that his equally silly deputy is fighting him. They are both silly
In a matter of weeks, they'll both be history.
PoliticsRe: Aba Kidnappers- Are They All Indigenes? by DeepSoul(f): 11:52pm On Jun 07, 2010
Nchara,

Armed robbery is different. It involves little or no interaction/collaboration with "settlers".
Kidnapping on the other hand involves setting up camps in collaboration with the villagers.
How can a Hausa group pull this off?

If kidnapping was imported from Rivers and Bayelsa, where were ritual killings and 419 imported from?

PoliticsRe: Aba Kidnappers- Are They All Indigenes? by DeepSoul(f): 11:25pm On Jun 07, 2010
Whether they are Ngwa or awgN, point is, they are igbo.
I find it very hard to believe that a Hausa man will have enough freedom to do that sort of thing in an Igbo land.
Regardless of the fact that Aba is relatively a cosmopolitan city due to its penchant for trading, it is also a very "indigenised" town.
That is, the "igboness" cannot be mistaken.
A Hausa man will find it almost impossible to "secure" a spot in an IGBO VILLAGE and be allowed to carry out these acts with the full support of the "host" villagers.

Anyone pointing to the fact that these animals may not be Igbo should think again!

The villagers around are all aware of what's going on and I can bet my last kobo that the community leaders are being "settled" by these bad boys.
So tell me how possible it is for these kidnappers to be non-Igbos. . .

When the Niger delta boys were on their kidnap spree in Portharcourt, we atleast had an idea of what to expect.
They had a target market. They werent this inhumane in their torturing.
But these igbos! Sheesh! They are so hungry they flag down public buses and kidnap everyone in it! How sick can that get!

I do not have anything against the igbos.
Infact my great-grandmother was Igbo! grin
But these boys need to get their acts together.
PoliticsRe: Kidnapped Victim Narrates His Ordeal by DeepSoul(f): 10:58pm On Jun 07, 2010
Like I always say, when the Igbo man decides to do a thing, it is always extreme.
I am by no means a tribalist. Neither do I hold any person grudges against the igbos.
But this is just sadly the truth.

A simple journey from Portharcourt to Aba or Enugu is now like trekking thru the Sahara desert.
Travelling from PH to Owerri is also a similar ordeal.

The SADDEST thing in all of this is that the Nigerian Police are not just aware of this, but are FULLY INVOLVED.
How else wld you explain the use of Police vehicles, police vests etc.
It's not like these animals are hiding. They operate on the Express Way for ALL to see.

Same thing happened to my mother's friend who was coming back from a wedding in Aba, a woman over 50!
In the cases where they abduct women, they are gang raped without protection + other forms of torture.
It's heart breaking to hear these stories

They say it's now no longer about whether or not he cheats
It's a given that he will cheat
However, what's most important is the manner in which he cheats.
