Ahaaa! Mazaje, what about the challenge now. It is important that a physical challenge be held so as to prove the existence of God(s) once and for all. All these argument no hold water. Lets replay MT. Carmel now. beg. |
Take the patient to a hospital and let them conduct proper medical check. There is nothing spiritual about epilepsy it is just a malfunctioning of some certain brain cells. Fasting and praying will not solve the problem ooo. |
Now you see why Oyedepo too should be brought to book. If these people are convicted of tortous murder then Oyedepo is guilty of tortous assualt. Religious teachings lack logic and sound reasoning. It drains people of mercy, help, care, I cannot imagine how a sister would accuse her own brother of witchcraft then subject the poor hapless boy to torture and death. Sentencing them to death would be too merciful, they should be made to go through the same ordeal they put the boy through |
I once did a study on this verse ,and I didn't like theUncle Jo, which verse are you talking about? |
@Mrmayor, My wife knows my stand, initially it was rather disturbing for her, especially someone brought under good christian background. In fact she went haead to report me to the board of trustee chairman in the church, she reported to some of our friends and one of them was on verge of reporting me to Rev Sam Adeyemi. Of course I allowed them have their way but I know my convictions. Lately my wife is begining to see things my way, she now realises the level of hypocrisy displayed by these so called christians that is not to say she is considering agnostism or atheism like me but she is no longer as fanatical. Deception full everywhere and like I said I cant tell people to believe what I dont. |
FX, Do you know why I have chosen not to take up this challenge with you? I have read so many of your post and majority of them lack depth, honesty and intellectual capacity. You are too shifty and will tell any lie just to win cheap points. I came to Nairaland to learn and I sure have learnt a lot, responding to you on Oledepo's post was because you made unsubstantiated claims which I found preposterous. I chose to leave you to your convictions there because I was beggining to get really upset even going to the extent of hurling insults (gosh! thats unlike me) because of some of your claims forgeting that this is just an internet forum. I dont want my emotions worked up again so you can qualify me with different things ranging from intellectual bankruptcy to outright stupidity. Truly I am tempted to get in the ring with you but what will that profit me? I would have wasted so much time responding to your posts I would have left more important and intellectually beneficial things undone. Just so you know I, like dilluminati, used to believe so much in your bible and its teachings, till date am a member of dramma dept in church, in fact there is a home cell meeting held in my house every sunday till now and guess what, i still attend because am the host, I was once a home cell leader but I quietly left because I hate deceiving people telling them to believe what I dont. My wife is a strong believer, as I speak she is at an MFM prayer meeting and I wont stop her if it makes her happy. Whether a God exists or not is the God's and you its/his/her followers' problem. I dont bother people with my belief system and I dont want to be bothered. Shout all you can, insult all you can, write all you can in fact knock yourself out, I still wont take up this challenge with you. |
Thank you o jare Moskeeto. The guy dey feel like the christian Bruce Lee or Voltron. The fight wey people don fight end finish now hin wan com jzoinn. |
Oh so now that his curse is no longer working he has now resorted to verbal pyrotechnics. Stooopid 'apari' (bald headed) thief. |
So how does a picture of a gay couple kissing end America? Since when have there been gays in America? While the thought of gay acts is repugnant to me at the least, I do not see how it affects a country, especially a country that has had them since forever. |
Why are people pointing fingers at Islam, haven't You read anything about the catholic inquisition? Was Hitler a Moslem? Adolf Hitler was Catholic (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Hitler's_religious_views and nobeliefs.com/hitler.htm) if you may know and am sure we all know what he did. So pls leave islam alone. All religion especially the three powerful ones Christianity, Islam and Judaism are the same. They mean no good for anyone. |
Which century are you oga? Oh sorry ooo, you just joined Nairaland in 2012, no wonder you on so much fire. This issue has been thrashed out countless times and it will be fool hardy for anybody to take you seriously. Besides do some reading to convince yourself that your sky daddy exists thats what everyone else is doing. So that you may known, you are throwing up verbal challenge even though you know talk is cheap, some even went as far as throwing real physical challenges by telling athiest to challenge God and go blind in three days. As you have rightly guessed many people took up the challenge and after the third day all of them still came back to type on nairaland, meaning they still have their sights intact. Weeks afterwards they were still posting to refute the claims that they will go blind. So pls find something more interesting to post. Good day! |
If there is a God, he is probably tired of the way we are killing ourselves |
@All, is koolking a human being or a baboon? Am asking because his manner of posting strikes me like someone taught a monkey how to click on send and he's been posting since. That saidn, I think religion will single handedly destroy the world as we know it. @cold put everything in the right words. Ascribing the current problems to only one religion is at best myopic. Every single religion claims exclusivity right to God, any other claim is seen as an attempt to steal this right hence the wars we are witnessing. Many people on this forum are also guilty of this and the only thing protecting especially the atheists and agnosts is the cover of the computer screen. Rather than fight I would suggest we go back and study some ancient history. Check out this link for starters one-evil.org/evil.asp |
we will do better as a people is we can just discount religion and focus more on how we make life better. Religion is a load of c.rap. |
@PA1982, Yes forums like this are a great place to learn and are uncommon repositories of knowledge and information. I must be honest, I have learnt a great deal here and am still learning more. My only problem comes when donkeys and snakes start talking and its even worse when they too start contributing in a forum like this. And you can be sure that when they get their paws on the key board the only thing thay will typing is 'thank you skydaddy'. You know what I mean, dont u? |

An Assistant Manager in Zenith Bank is heartbroken and devastated. And unfortunately, the young woman he gave his life to tore his heart to pieces and ran into the arms of another man, a popular car dealer in Lagos who already has about four wives. This is the story of Owolabi Bankole an Assistant Manager with Zenith Bank, Sango Ota, Ogun State branch; Ebunoluwa Akinosi-Bankole, a young female lawyer who works with Ojutalayo Law Chambers in Ota, Ogun State, and Alhaji Lanre Shittu, the owner of Lanre Shittu Motors in Surulere, Lagos. According to investigations conducted by yemojanews.com, in the early 2000, Owolabi Bankole, a young and handsome University graduate met Ebunoluwa Akinosi, daughter of Chief Bola Akinosi, a retired custom officer who lives in Ota, Ogun State. The young lads began to date and many of their peers envied their relationship. Banky, as Owolabi Bankole is popularly called by friends was working with the Ota branch of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) then, while Ebun Akinosi just gained admission to study Law at the Olabisi Onabano University, OOU. Owolabi Bankole Yemojanews.com learnt that Banky did not spare anything to spoil Ebun while in school. The then undergraduate Ebun was known to all the staffers of the UBA as Banky’s girlfriend. We were told that in OOU, Ebun began to mix with big babes on campus and eventually met one of Chief Lanre Shittu’s daughters. Ebun and the lady became five and six, partying and rolling together. Yemojanews.com was told that one day, Ebun visited her friend in her father’s house and the unexpected happened. “Ebun is a very beautiful girl. When Alhaji Lanre Shittu saw her, he couldn’t take his eyes off her. He told Ebun point blank that he liked her and want to be dating her and Ebun agreed”, our source quipped. The Couple with their son Yemojanews.com learnt that while in 200 level in school, Lanre Shittu went to his auto shop and gave Ebun a Mazda Saloon Car as a token gift for being a good girl. Ebun and Lanre became so engrossed in their love affair that almost all the students in OOU at that time knew about the relationship. Meanwhile, Lanre Shittu’s daughter had a bitter quarrel with Ebun for dating her father and at the end, both friends parted ways, while Ebun continued with the relationship with Lanre Shittu. When she got to 400 level in school, Ebun got another exotic car from Lanre. She also got a well stocked shop where she sells jewelries called “Oyin Gold” courtesy of the millionaire auto dealer. Ebun also began to travel to Dubai on the bills of Alhaji Lanre Shittu. While all these were going on, Ebun kept her affair with her long time banker boyfriend, Banky. Yemojanews.com gathered that some friends of the young banker opened up to him that Lanre Shittu is dating his girlfriend and he’s responsible for all the luxury at the beck and call of the girl. Banky, we learnt always ignored his friends and before long, he severed relationship with friends. He also turned deaf ears and closed his eyes to all that Ebun was doing then. Ebun graduated from OOU, went to Law School and began to work with a popular Law Chamber – Ojutalayo Chambers in Ota, Ogun State, while Banky moved to Zenith Bank. Later, Ebun got pregnant and had the Yoruba traditional wedding with Banky. She gave birth to a bouncing baby boy about three years ago and everything was going on smooth for the young family. In order to satisfy his wife and make life comfortable for her, Yemojanews.com learnt Banky took a loan of several millions of naira and gave it to Ebun to add to her business. However, in the mid 2011, the couple began to have hiccups in their marriage and Ebun reportedly threatened to leave Banky’s home. Banky we learnt ran to his father-in-law, Chief Akinosi’s house to help beg his daughter not to leave him. Chief Akinosi obviously aware of the cantankerous ways of his daughter allegedly berated his son-in-law for behaving like a weakling, saying he will not interfere in the couple’s marital affair. But let us rewind a bit, we learnt authoritatively that Ebun’s mother, Mrs Tina Akinosi who has 6 children (all girls) for Chief Akinosi had not been living in her matrimonial home for some years now. Yemojanews.com was informed that, Chief Akinosi kicked his wife, Tina, out of their home along Ilogbo road, Ota, Ogun State when another woman went in tears to the retired customs officer to help beg his wife (Tina) to desist from having affair with her husband. Investigations revealed that Mrs Tina Akinosi was having an affair with a young man, a clearing and forwarding agent who also lives in Ota. Chief Akinosi reportedly investigated the allegation and found it to be true. Thereafter, he sent his wife out of his home. Sources told yemojanews.com that after Banky and Ebun got married. Mrs Tina (Ebun’s mother) moved in to live with her daughter. So after Chief Akinosi dismissed Banky that he won’t interfere in the troubled marriage, the banker went back home to beg his wife not to leave him. Ebun agreed and they continued with their life. Unknown to Banky, Ebun had other plans. About 2 months ago, while Banky was busy at work, Ebun packed all her belongings including some electronics in her husband’s home and disappeared into thin air. Banky got home to find the apartment empty and when he called his wife, she told him straight up that she has gone for good. It was later found out that Ebun left her husband for her long time “Aristo”, Alhaji Lanre Shittu. Yemojanews.com findings revealed that Lanre Shittu bought a house for Ebun in Lekki, Lagos where she is currently living. Interestingly, Mrs Tina Akinosi who was living with the couple, had left three months earlier before her daughter packed out on a pretext that she was travelling to her hometown in Edo State. This however fuelled speculations that Tina Akinosi probably helped her daughter hatched the plot to leave her husband. “It’s very possible that the mother knows her daughter’s plan. Why would she leave the place, and few months after, her daughter too left. Mother and daughter plotted it together”, a source stated emphatically. Another source told us that while Ebun was living in Banky’s house, she was seeing Lanre Shittu secretly. ‘’There was never a time Ebun left Lanre Shittu. Banky was just behaving like an idiot. The girl wanted the life of a society lady and Banky is a quite type. I am not surprise that she has ran back to Lanre Shittu to become the fifth or sixth wife”, the source concluded. Friends of the Zenith Bank big boy however said, he is currently devastated by the action of his wife, but trying to cope with it. |
@PA1982, I have really learnt a lot from you and other fellow nairalanders who are thinking with their brains rather than depositing it in a church. |
@Tbaba1234, Nairaland is loaded with learned people who are ready to engage you in informed discussions on the existence of a creator or otherwise. |
The following quote from Stephen F. Roberts sums up the situation very nicely: "I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." |
@Fxking, why is It that when a reference fails to support your argument you discard it and label it invalid. You run arround everywhere trying to corroborate your position with half truths and twisted theology. The new american standard bible suddenly becomes invalid and fake even though some of the men of dog you listen and hold in high esteem quote texts from this same version so drive home whatever point they want to make. Do you know that some of those transalations are revised from king James, they are translated from the original texts. So you would rather rely on 17th century translation of the bible. How come you are not using telegram to send messages now? Now explain to the house what 'according to the time of your life' means in 21st century english language. |
The fact that prayers are NEVER answeres is one proof that God probably does not exist. Yesn you might claim prayers have been answered because some dead guy came back and relayed stories about heaven and hell, or that you have seen miracles happening but the truth is most of the events are probabilistic. For example if you claim that you witnessed a man being raised from the dead, how come several people died yet never even raised when they got to church. Sometime ago I met a man who was involved in a car accident, he along with his friend were actually thrown out of the car's windshield as it was summersaulting. Both he and his friend were pronounced dead on arrival. A few hours later they were moved to the mortuary and as the mortuary attendant was preparing him she noticed a scarf arround his neck and as she was about to remove the scarf she felt a faint pulse on his neck. That was how the guy survived and is able to tell the story. my point is If immidiately he was moved from the accident scene he was taken to a church, the man of god would have said he raised the dead. Answered prayers like I said are just probabilities if not how come no amputee has EVER been restored. That would have been the greatest confirmation of answered prayers not events that still have to depend on something else. It was even alleged that some of Benny Hinn's miracle claims were hoaxes. Another thing is that your God is too invisible to be real. Have you heard the phrase 'absence of evidence is evidence of absence'. There are no evidence of God, He is all in the imagination of His believers. |
I will direct you to some books. 1) Age of reason by Thomas Paine 2) Examination of the prophesies by thomas paine 3) Biblical Nonsense by jason long www.biblicalnonsense.com/index2.html 4) godisimaginary.com/ All these are freely available on the internet. Just do some reading. I, like most other anti-theist here, have read the bible, qur'an and several religios materials, thus when I tell people to read its because I want them to learn like i learnt. |
How can you say it is impossible? People who believed in these Gods are as sure as you are of your God that they are right. You did not even explain why it is impossible or what makes those other Gods false and yours real. Its like I ask you are you sure your BB is actually original and you tell me it is impossible. why? Because the person I bought it from says it is original. Please, I don't want to sound insulting but try and come up with a more logical presentation. |
You still havent answered my question. I said what if your belief in the Bible God proves to be wrong? What if the true God is Vishnu or Krishna or Ra or the Mayan god and not your yahweh? I did not ask my question from the premise of no God, even though there are overwhelming evidences that show this, I want to rather come from your theistic standpoint. As for the origin of life, I cant say specifically that this or that is what brought life on earth but evolution is scoring better points than creation given the micro evolution that we see everyday. |
