The first whom God gave a wife too ended up blaming God when the woman caused him to sin. Afterwards, am not sure God gave a wife or hubby to anyone anymore. That said, the work of finding a spouse is fully yours cos proverbs says 'he who finds a wife finds a good and obtains favour from the LORD'. Your marriage would not work because you made the right choice but because made your self the right person. I have seen several marriaged that are 'God ordained' crash like a pack of cards and conversely I have seen marriages where the two parties married due certain circumstantial occurence, like unwanted pregnancy, and 40yrs later the couples are still married. Come to think of it our forefather who were idol worshippers got married and stayed married, divorce rate was low and family life was very sacred.

My question still holds, if you are God will you be busy 'COMING DOWN HARD' on a handful of Nairalanders whose major arsenal of weaponry is not more than a laptop or a small phone with internet connection and leave BH who are terrorising that sovereignty of our nation

Why have you allowed fear to becloud you sense of judgement? So God will leave Boko Haram, al qaeda, taliban etc to be running arround freely while obliterating hundreds and thousands of His people but come down hard on a handful of Nairalanders who are only speaking about the lies propagated by these crooks? Tell me if you are in God's shoes what will be your major preoccupation? Will you be strong against the weak and be weak against the strong or will you wage war against your real enemies?

So you attend boko haram meetings to know that have not been having these in-fightings. People have been cursing long before your bishop cursed and are still cursing after he cursed. You said he laid hands on the sick and they recover, how come he had to fly his wife out of the country for medical treatment when she was ill. He could have laid hands on her. People heard about him running his mouth against Boko Haram. Several people are doing the same thing. Several pastors, like Oyedepo, cursed boko haram in the comfort of their churches so drop this hero worship attitude.

Because humans seem to have better mental capacity than these animals do not neccessarily mean we are better. Other animals have areas of strength which are far more superior to humans. What some animal lack in mental capacity they make for it in physical strenght, speed and endurance. Am sure you know that some apes and chimpazees are developing primitive tools to aid them in foraging and hunting for food. The egyptian eagle picks up stones to and smashes it against hard shelled eggs so it can eat the content. You know humans do research work because you are human and you understand human language, what makes you think other animals do not reseach to learn easier ways of feeding and preserving their species?

Does Oyedepo have a reputation? Oh…yes he has one. Being a bully, slapping innocent, defenceless girl in the name of exorcism. Last time I checked Oledepo cursed BH when they attacked his business centre in the north. His actions were not predicated on the love of humanity but on perceived economic losses he may incur. Nothing more. You claimed he was the only one who came out publicly to speak against BH. Well public is relative, I and several other people did not hear him curse Boko Haram. I only read about it on NL. If your meaning of public is inside his church then Femi Otedola could have cursed them in his office in VI and it would still qualify as public. For all you care Boko Haram may not even know he cursed them especially if they do not have conversational contact with members of church, which is very likely. In essence, within Boko Haram Oyedepo does not exist.

I do believe these followers most times make their pastors to sin but it now depends on the pastor to caution them when they are going out of their make him a demigod. I attend a church where the pastor and his wife continually caution members to treat them like normal human beings. In fact the wife told members sometime ago that when she is coming to church no one should bother to collect any baggage she is carrying especially if she is coming with her any of her children. She said she carried by herself from whereever she is coming from so what makes them think she is tired of carrying. Even something as small as her bible people still try to help her carry. The husband on his part is quiet and unassuming, he tries to live a simple ordinary life to the extent that he drives himself and come to church through the same traffic that all other church members drive through despite having a congregation of almost 20,000 members. After church service you can't even tell the difference between pastor and congregation. Despite all these, members still try to outdo themselves in deifying him. On several occassions he had told members that he would rather celebrate his birthday and other anniversaries quitely with his family yet people still go out of their way in planning big budget parties for him. I think both sides share the blame but the congration take a larger part of the blame.

Ants are probably more organised, I have seen lions organise themselves to kill a large prey, I have seen pack of wolves organise themselves and strategically launch an attack on a rival pack, even bacteria organise themselves to build up defences against drugs and human antibodies.

God did not come down in the time of Elijah yet he defeated prophets of Baal on mt. carmel, God did not come down in the time of David yet he defeated Goliath, God did not come down in the time of Moses yet he drowned Egyptian. All the above mentioned individuals did not hide behind their pulpits showering curses, they challenged their opponents in a public square. What makes you think its your bishops prayers or curses that culminated in this newest trend? What if it is a strategy in order to create an appendage of Boko Haram that will negotiate with the govt. Why can't you guys just wake and for once reason like a 21st century human beings rather people living in the medieval periods? Why must it be about Oyedepo? Afterall he wasn't the only one that cursed them, in fact muslims, christians, traditional worshipers, atheists, theists, deists and all other people that do not belong to their belief system cursed and condemned their onslaught. Even if their is confusion within them as you claimed, it is not impossible that it was the incantations of the sango worshippers that caused the fragmentation. You cannot arrogate victory over Boko Haram to just one person lest of all your wicked, chauvinistic, inhuman, lying Bishop Oyedepo. If at all you want to celebrate anyone for crushing the sect it should be the security forces who risk their lives everyday in trying to unravel the mystry behind these people.

A yoruba saying says if you are confident of the powers you carry, you will hit it on your head. If you and your MOG are confident enough tell him to make a public announcement and ask FG to withdraw security agent from Kano and all other states where state of emergency have been declared. You all, led by Oyedepo, should go to those states and in one fell swoop smoke out and destroy Boko Haram with your curse and prayer war. I believe your church has enough buses to convey all of you now. This would be the most dramatic event of all times. You will not only win me, you win the heart of millions of muslims in Nigeria. Oyedepo's behavior is consistent with that of a very cowardly man who will brag in front of family inside his bedroom but will not as much as whisper when confronted by men his own size. His major preoccupation is to instill fear in his congragation so he can control them like pawns. You guys should expose yourselves to teachings and information outside what your 'Men of Greed' tell. For starters let me recommend a book for you. Go to laterna ventures or amazon.com and ask for 'THE BEAUTIFUL BRIDE' by Muyiwa Oguntoyinbo. Prophet Elijah was confident of the power that was backing to the extent of publicly challenging Baal prophets to a competition. If your MOG is has enough guts let him go to Borno or Kano and challenge BH to an open battle, if he comes out alive then I will know he is a man of God otherwise he can go on hidding behind the protection of body guards and security agents in his abode and keep shouting curses that are not worth more than noise they made when he was shouting. So Oyedepo's prayers had to wait till more than 500 innocent souls were killed before it started taking effect. You guys should wake up and smell the cofee. It reproduces asexualy in a process called binary fussion such that it splits itself into two and the two parts grow back to become two different hydra with the same strength of the original entity. This can only mean that I have never attacked a true annointed prophet of God. All the ones we attack here on NL are impostors and challatans whose major preoccupation is to fleece their congregation of their wealth. Come to think of it, would a true annointed prophet of God brutalise a young defenceless girl in public under the guise of exorcism? Would a true annointed prophet of God fly arround in 4 private jets when more than 70% of his country's population (many of them his church members) live on less than $2 a day? Would a true annointed prophet of God make his congregation pay money in order to be allowed to enter the auditorium? Would a true annointed prophet of God collect stollen money from a member of his congregation and still refuse to refund the money after being told the source of the money?…… Finaly one wise man once said 'the show off of wealth amidst strangulating poverty is nothing but inhuman cruety', would a true annointed prophet of God be displaying such levels of inhuman cruelty?

I am impressed by your knowledge of scriptures but I can't say the same in terms of understanding. You know so much that you get confused about what to quote in any instance. All stories in the bible that tow the line of giving came with instance reward, in fact sometimes the reward came before the act of giving as in the case of Abraham and Melchizedech. The other ones you quoted above enjoins christians to show kindness to fellow christians and non-christians alike which is less than I can say for today's christian. MOGs (Men of Greed) have for so long hidden behind these biblical injunctions to fleece their congregation so much so that christians don't have enough to do altruistic works anymore. We give offering, tithe, fist fruit, building fund, musical instrument fund, convention fund, outreach fund, crusade fund………… and the list is endless. After giving all these what do you have left to give to that poor boy who has not eaten for two days? You claimed God can deal with these people himself……hmmmmm, while I do not doisprove this, I think it is expedient we call them to order when they are going astray and also expose ones that are outright fakes so that people do not continue to be fleeced on all sides because they want miracles or because they want to please God. I speak against wicked practices by MOGs and I can boldly say that I am yet to be slapped by any God. These pastors and their brainwashed supporters quote Touch not my annointed and do my prophets no harm. So long as you are doing the acts of an annointed you will not be touched, but once you deviate you will be touched. If God really punishes those who speak against MOGs with leprosy like in the case of Miriam, many Nairalanders including myself would have been highly celebrated lepers long before now however am still walking arround healthy like everyone else and I will tell you why. Truly God still probably punishes those touch His annointed and harm his prophets, am still here because I have never touched an annointed or harmed a prophet

I may be wrong but is there anywhere in the bible wether old or new testament where some people were recognised as spiritual fathers. I know there are elders in the bible/church but are there spiritual father?

Interesting thread. I enjoy we christians. We interpret the bible any way we deem fit. When the express instructions are favourable we imbibe it directly, when it is not we start giving it meanings that align we our current actions. My question is at what point do you interpret instructions litraly and at what point do you interpret metaphoricaly? If that instruction was in the old testament the argument would have been that it was made under the law, now we are under grace even though the instructions on tithe and all other financial instructions that benefit the church somehow found their way to this dispensation of grace. I thought instructions as well as laws are to as it is not how it is perceived to be. This attitude is what gives atheists, muslim etc the opportunity to slander xtians. We are too shifty. Obey simple instructions, this instruction is so simple. In 1cor 14:33 Paul say 'God is not the author of confussion but of peace, as in all churches of the saint' and in v34 through 36 he gave the commandment on women keeping quiet. He further stated in v37 that the commandments were from the Lord. How come we are trying to make a case for all our pastors who are flouting this commandment with impunity?

Am sure the story of Tom Paine's last hr was written by christian apologists like you. Do you know why I know it is a lie? Thomas Paine never for once said there is no God, in fact he believed in God to a larger extent than you do. Thomas Paine was a deist. He studied your falsehood ridden bible and came up with several non-scientific inconsistencies that ravaged the book. Go and read up his books: age of reason and examination of the prophesies. Read and make up your stone age and stop plagiarising other people's lies. At least your told you to study to show yourself approved so go and study. am happy someone is in the same page with me. People claim they love God but when told to give for a purpose other than church, they develop cold feet. Like you said God deserves more than 10% and thats what the men (american billionaires) I listed above have done. Sometime ago someone in church approached my wife to solicit for fund for our pastors birtgday celebration. The high point of the event is the presentation of a brand new car and/or a N5m cheque to him. My wife was so angry she almost screamed at the guy. The pastor in question has fleet of exortic cars, lives in a high brow estate in lagos and his children school abroad. Now what will he need these expensive gift for except fund an expensive lifestyle. Am sure if this friend was asked to raise or give money for victims of natural disaster he would have many excuses, one of which may be tithe and pastor's birthday gift, why he would not be able to give. Jesus called these kinds of people workers of iniquity. I believe pastoring should be a part time valauntary vocation rather than what we have no. My elder brother is a pastor in one of the new covenant churches in ibadan. He doesnt harp strongly on tithe because before he became a pastor he was already a successful businessman and same goes for all the other pastors in the church. They are all successful people in their chosen, some of them are GMs & EDs of large conglomerates including banks. You can be sure these people do not feed from the church. If all churches are run that way humanity would be better affected

Sometimes I wonder to what extent Nigerians and indeed Africans use their brains. People will scream saying when you pay tithe and give to church and pastors you will prosper. Such statements make me think that do such people attend reading and comprehension class in their secondary school or they just choose to accept whatever they like. Tithing was expressly commanded in the old testament and giving was adviced in the new testament. Deut: 14 makes it clear on what purpose tithe was meant to serve. It thus bothers me that tithe is probably the only instruction that succeeded in tran-testament movement. What about the other laws and punishment that goes with disobeying. Maybe someone in the camp of tithing could answer this, who amongst the following believe in God let alone pay tithe: Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Donald Trump, Mark Zuckerberg, Barack Obama, Steve Jobs etc. Many people including tithe preaching pastors would wish they possess 10% of what these men have. These are successful men by many standards yet they do not pay tithe rather they give to humanity. They do not reason selfishly as many of us do saying people are poor because their mindset is set in poverty or that the poor cannot produce prosperity from their spirits. They give to poor nation and have championed the eradication of many diseases that our pastors would be busy praying about. Many people cannot help the poor because they have so much to the church they barely enough to cater for their family. Let me throw a challenging question: how many people here on NL who are in support of tithing has ever the school fees or fed one indigent child that they are not related to? Last time I checked Jesus did not send anyone to hell for insulting a pastor or non payment of tithes and offerings but because of their insensitivity to the plight of the poor and downtroden. I think it is high time people began to read out of what is taught in their local assembly. At this juncture I would like to recomend a book written by a Nigerian pastor living in Dublin. The title is 'the beautiful bride' written by muyiwa oguntoyinbo. The book shed a lot of light on so many things churches have made us think hold true but in the end are pack of lies. This is one book your pastors would not want you to read.
