@Mclatunji, I really apreciate your efforts in trying to put these atheists in their place. They know nothing yet they claim they know all. Pls I just want to make a few clarifications on what things you posted. 1) Athiest and Evolution. You claimed there are two schools of thought as to the existence of the universe i.e creation and evolution. The theory of evolution was postulated just about 150-200 years ago yet before then there had always been people who do not believe in God and all other attachments to God. I know this because somewhere in the book of proverbs which was written at least 2,500 years say somewhere that 'the fool says in heart that there is no God' meaning atheist have always been existing thousands of years before the postulation of evolution. 2) Evolution says we came from NOTHING. Pls what does creation says we were created from? Well I will talk from the biblical perspective cos that is the only religios book I am familiar with and this is what it says in Gen 1:1 in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth....., my question is what did God creat from? NOTHING. I dont know what your quran says but it cant be too far from the bible assertions. So if evo says we came from nothing and the religios books say we were created from nothing, does it not mean we came from the same source which is NOTHING. Evo has just removed the God concept from the equation but the original source still remains NOTHING 3) You said Seun should leave Nairaland and see if it will evolve. The truth is Nairaland will definitely evolve into something but it may not conform to Seun's plan, hence the need to always keep personal watch over it. NL is Seun's creation and he must always moderate to ensure it complies with his original intent. |

noetic16: Whether you acknowledge the need for a creator or not, you would at least acknowledge that there has to be a purpose behind this material world.What is the purpose of a volanic eruption, tsunami, huricane, floods, earth quake, mudslide and solar flares etc. While thee phenomenon have known causes, their purpose to life or otherwise is still in question. When this things occur they cause great destruction but afterwards some of them give rise to scenic landforms can we then say that their purpose is to create land forms? |

ndidibabe: I am not here to condemn you but i will like to know the following: (1)How do you discern between good and bad? (2)Who do you cry unto in times of trouble? (3)Who do you praise/thank when good things happen to you?1. I don't haave to discern, I know what is good by studying the common law of the land and try to follow them to the best of my ability 2. I stopped crying since I changed my belief system. I face bad situations squarely, try my best to turn things in my favour and if I fail, I go back to the drawing board nd restrategise. I stopped waiting for sky daddy cos he never on time, always absent and never moved. 3. People who helped me nd myself. |

I wonder what would have been if the Missionaries of old who built and ran schools like St. Theresa's College, Loyola College etc had the same mind set that our homegrown missionaries have. Many of us would probably not have been educated because it would have been too expensive for our parents. I wonder why these churches could not donate and monitor/run infrastures or facilities like laboratories and equipment for teaching hospitals. Imagine how our education and healthcare would be impacted if these mega churches contribute N1billion each every year for these purpose. I said 1billion cos I know they can afford even more. If they really want to help they can set up accademic laboratories and run it for free for universities, they can donate expensive medical equipment to teaching hospitals and maintain them for those hospitals. On the contrary they would rather set up multi billion naira enterprises and call intervention in health care and education. Pity! |

Whaat the OP is trying to say is after doing all that you have been told to do, not neccessarily jumping from church to mosque to herbalist. What he is saying is you pick one that you belive in and carry out all neccessities for moving forward yet nothing hapens. You are a born again christian, you abide by all the rules and perform all the acts and similarly foir other faiths but nothing hapens. What do you do? |

Many famous people who belived in God died too under mysterious or otherwise circumstances. For starters, Pastor Bimbo Odukoya died in a plane crash burnt beyond recognition. What is even the evidence that christian apologists like you were not responsible for the mysterious deaths of these famous people who openly challenged God in other to maintain the fear factor? 2 Likes |
