Oyedepo and other word of faith movement leaders/chalatans are decieiving people because people hibernate their brains when they are going to church |
Thank you Pukkah. This guy has something wrong with his cortex and medulla oblongata, just the way his MOGs want him to be. Unfortunately there are more like him who would claim it was the man of Gods prayer that made him wake up in the morning. Bunch of mentally depraved I.d.i.o.t.s |
@Fxking2012, You make me laugh. Am I the one living in denial or you. If you were an American, you would also said the success of the American millitary in hunting down Osama Bin Laden was because one arrogant, hot tempered bully like Oyedepo cursed him. I am living in denial yet all the questions I asked and the challenges I proposed for Oyedepo were cleverly evaded by you. Good job. If attacking Oyedepo is a sin, then it is a sin I do not want repentance from becaise I lost all forms of respect for Oyedepo the time he claimed he and his wife have never had reasons to argue on any issue. That statement either makes him a chauvinistic bully, a liar or both and I think he is both because I know he is a wicked bully giving the case of slapping a defenceless girl and all other unbecoming stories that I have heard about him. Also I know he is a liar because it not possible not to have an argument with your wife except the woman litrally has no brain or she is a maniquin. |
Unfortunately no one was bold enough to challenge his heretic kleptomaniac teaching then, see where we have found ourselves now. The only way the flavour can be brought back is when bad and heretic doctrines are attacked openly by Christians. This is so because if someone from another religios belief system does it, it will be seen as being done out of envy. Therefore, allow people to attack, let them talk. If we fail to challenge them God will not do nada, they may go to hell or wherever when they die but the evil or wrong they perpetrated will still be evident. Consider an extreme situation in which a man of God says it is good for spouses to sleep arround and people believe him like we are believing people today because they are MOGs and we dare not challenge them else we incur God's wrath. Do you know how many marriages would have been destroyed and how many families scatter, not to talk of exchange of diseases before this preacher finally dies and goes to whereever God sends him to? My point is do not abdicate the responsibility to correct a bad situation to God, but if you decide to abdicate it, allow those who intend to exploit their right of freedom of expression on matters that bother on their destinies and that of their generations yet unborn. |
@Joagbaje, Christianity lost its flavour a long time ago since the word of faith movement entered the scene. Starting from their senior bishop Idahosa down to Oyakilome and co and their followers. They watered down the true gospel which preaches the love for God and His creatures and creation, and replaced it with the love for self personal materialistic aquisition. Anyone searching truly for God may not come to christianity, they will rather go to movements which talk more about spirituality like hinduism and the grail movement. Haven't you also noticed that what really brings people and keeps people in church is actually the quest for miracles be it financial, material or medical. This is why Jesus said he would cast these people away (and am thinking He was talking about the challatans i spoke about earlier) saying I know you not despite the earth rending miracles they performed in his name which resulted in the mamoth crowd they attract for themselves. Sometime ago I read about an atheist who gave $22.5 million to the catholic for the sole purpose of sponsoring indegent children in their educational pursuit. Do you think God will overlook such gesture? Put urself in God's shoes, if you have an opponent or an enemy whom you do not see eye to eye and then you were unavailable for some reason and this fellow heard about your child being involved in an accident, needs to performs a surgery that will save his but because you were unavailable there was no money to pay the hospital bills and your child will definitely die if the money is not made available immidiately. If this guy goes ahead to pay the bills and hence saves your son's life would you still consider him as an enemy? Would you still punish him for not beliving in your ideologies? We are continually fleeced by these word of faith chalatans and as a result we have little left to show God that we love Him by showing love to his creatures. Like I said earlier, christianity started losing its salt since Idahosa came with his prosperity teachings. |
Very soon, Valentine's day will become a Christian celebration day just like Christmas, Easter and all other pagan holidays that have been absorbed into Christianity. |
You people don't get it. The guy did not give to God to propagate the 'Kingdom', he gave to the catholic chirch to help indegent children who cannot afford to go to school to have some sound education which is less than one can say of the christian/religious practices in the part of the world. We have become so heavenly minded that we have forgotten to take care of the earth and everything in it. We will rather spend our money to propagate the gospel that feed the hungry, we will rather spend our to organise crusades than clothe the naked, we will rather spend our money to build large auditoriums than house the homeless. Whats the point of loving God when you cannot take care of the things he created. |
I honestly admire your tenacity in trying to convince everyone that it was your MOG's prayers that is working when everything points to the direction of working security forces. Keep it up. |

It is so interesting the way people reason. Am sure people like frosbel & co did not even read the article hence the sort of contributions they are making. This guy did not give because he wanted to go to heaven or because he wanted to propagate the gospel. He gave because he sees the good cause the catholic church is engaged in and decides to support it and you can be sure every last dime will be spent on the original purpose. Now am wondering what would people like Oyedepo or Oyakilome do with such money? |
Oyedepo will not talk now because it was not his business centre that was bombed. When he rapped his nonsense rap, it was because they bombed winners. Jesus was moved by compassion, Oyedepo is moved by greed. mtscheeeeeew!! |
@Goshen360, God bless you. I have tried to explain this to people but I guess fear and laziness in thought pattern have made people slaves in their own land. In addition to what you said, Jesus said Judge not so that you will not be judged for in the same measure which you judge, so will you too be judged. Now, if you know you do not have any skeleton in your cupboard you shouldnt be afraid of being judged because the only consequence of judging is being judged either by God or by other men. Besides we will eventually be judged by God at the end of the age so what then should we be afraid of? People do not think through on things, they only rely on what their men of God teach them and with that they are ok. Lazy human beings! |
FXKing, I am not the kind given to hurling insulting at people for having a dissenting view on an argument but what I wont take is lying. Dude, you are a pathological liar. You posted this topic 13days ago, January 31st to be precise so before then you never knew anyone else has made a pronouncement. Tell me the surviving victims of Madalla bombing were thanking God for what BH did to them or the members of the families of Kano bomb blast victims are showering praises for BH? Please dont come on this forum to lie so you can score cheap points in arguments. Sometimes when I read your posts it strikes me as if you really do not mean what you typed, probably you just want to pullk people's in order to synthesise some reactions. Gosh! you are pathetic! |
FXKing, Please check post #17. I would have pasted it here but am using a phone. In that post you did not describe anything generic, you said Oyedepo was the only one who made public pronouncement. Why are so evassive? |
Greenpips, let me give you a simple analogy. If a wild beast is ravaging a city and everyone hurls stones, arrows and all at the beast, then another person decides, after shooting his own arrow, to tame the beast. When the beast is evetually subdues who do you say subdued it? One of the stone throwers or the one who entered its lair to try and tame. In the case of Boko Haram even Sango, Oya and Osun worshippers did their own bit of cursing. What is the guarantee that it is not the Osun worshippers' that is affecting Boko Haram? |
FXKing2012, You are just shifting posts and talking from both sides of your mouth. The title of your post says Oyedepos's curse has started working. In fact in one of your posts you claimed Oyedepo was the only one who publicly made pronouncement against Boko Haram. Maybe you should go back and re-read every single one of your posts with special reference to post #17 of this thread. |
goshen360, I too gbadun you. Am thinking now that CBN is preaching cash lite policy the pastors will start in POS terminals now to collect offerings and tithes. LOL. Yesterday, a pastor preached about the value of honesty and integrity in a nation, please, does Chris Oyakilome too preach anything about honesty and integrity especially in relation to the Sheraton staff saga? |
If the coverts and conversion stories are true how come those people have not been arrested or does willful confession to a crime translate to automatic forgiveness. @Fxking, how come it is when it came to conversion stories that you are able to make reference to soldiers. Now to tell you the truth if those stories were true (obviously they are not) why can it not be because the people involved get scared out of their pants and also want the reward for ratting on their compatriots (tens of millions of naira + possible forgivess is very attractive you know). My grouse with your assertions is that why are you judging the outcome on just one event when several events have played out towards arresting the manace caused by Boko Haram? Oyedepo was not the only preacher who spoke against BH, Adeboye spoke, Sam Adeyemi spoke. These are just the few that I know of or can remember (but several people prayed and cursed), if you hadn't come on Nairaland to announce Oyedepo's proclamation I (like many other people including boko haram members) probably wouldn't know he made any. Was it not after his alleged curse that Madala was bombed, was it not after that that a police station was bombed and several other places were bombed? Miracles in the bible happened almost intantaneously. so Please stop trying to deify a man like you. If he is as power like you said he does let him go to their hide out and fish them out single handedly. Until then, he can keep shouting at the corner of his church under the cover of security men provided by the govt and you people can keep claiming his prayers are working. |
Erhm, bull's eye. Truth is I wish prayers do work, I wish we can just say the word, believe, and, wooosh all our problems will go out like a whisp of smoke but you and I know it never happens like that. People claim prayers work because a woman that was barren for 25yrs suddenly gave birth. What has she been doing for all those years? Playing golf? I have seen situations in people's lives where I would have wished prayers would work for them but nothing happened. Sometimes some of those people pay the ultimate price for 'believing' in prayer. Nigerian situation continually proves me right, prayer warriors and generals of God in Nigeria have been praying since time immemoriam but I haven't seen change. Our situation have been going from bad to worse. Let me tell you life runs on principles, if you mistakenly miss you step while walking on a tight rope, irrespective of how well you know how to pray and believe you will hit the ground hard. I am not a pessimist when it comes to people's belief system but I am realist when it comes to real life issues. Still standing on my point, if you think the words that come out from your MOGs are powerful let them tell the Federal Govt to withdraw JTF from the pursuit of Boko Haram, MEND and other internal threats to our national security and them go ahead and confront them. Lets then see the power of working prayer. |
@FXKing2012, I think I get your point now. You want to create a movement that deifies and fearfully follow Oyedepo. Well how come the prayers did not work until security forces intensified their actions? How come it took Oyedepo's curse the lives of about 500 people before it took effect? How come it took several months before the pathetic curse took effect? You act so much like the Bishops in Galileo's days who refused to peep in the telescope for fear of what they might discover therefore they follow blind at the long held beliefs. You can continue deluding yourself that your bishop's curse is responsible for the latest developments on Boko Haram, but all Nigerians know that it took the tenacity of the Nigerian security and intelligence unit to achieve what has been achieved. Maybe you dont even believe that our inteligence unit may probably have infiltrated Boko Haram. You continue to banter statement about Jesus and co but their curses took immidiate effect and it wasnt so costly (no innocent lives lost). For your own good you better not ask that liar of an MOG to pray for you concerning some enemies because you might end up hurting the same people you want to protect. He cursed BH and they still killed more than 500. About the splinter group, that's very normal in any human organisation. Even winners chapel will have splinter groups you may just not know about it. |
Mr. Jo, better stick to your distorted explanation of the bible and leave history alone. Since the bible doesnt have any verifiable proofs anyone can twist it in any direction, as per history, bros documentary evidences are everywhere. So for your own good leave American history, the founding fathers were NOT christians, many of them were deists and freemasons. |
Please stop that! Prayer works and works well. Yesterday, when I was going to my house I prayed that when I get home I should see the news and to God be the glory I got home at exactly 10:03, lo and behold they just started news at Channels TV and STV. Praise the LORD!!!. Honestly, I wonder why people just cannot reason, infact Nigerian situation has shown that there is nothing like answered prayer. While it is true that sometimes people pray for certain things and close to desired results manifest, one can safely say this is the exception and not the rule. Statistical data will show that less than 2% of prayers are answered but then people will say it it because you do not have faith. OK if it is about faith less all faith preachers in Nigeria should pray with plenty faith and ask that all bad leaders in Nigeria should be miraculously abdicate the positions of leadership and good leaders should mount the seat to transform Nigeria in one month. Please nobody should come here and say do not blame God for men's choices because no one is blaming God here, we are only saying prayers are impotent and if you want to prove the OP wrong put his conclusion to the test in one of many terrible Nigerian situations |
I am not saying you should research on God. My initial post is about the Bible cos we were talking about Job. No one can research on God since you cannot synthesis His actions or responses per time. No one can prove the existence or otherwise of God. You can go ahead and say the bible says this and that, that is why I am asking you to put this bible to the test. Read books that scrutinizes it and the one I will recomend is the Age of Reason. I am recomending this book because it uses the bible to scutinize the bible not any document external to it. Thomas Paine, the author, was a deist and not an atheist so you can be sure he believed in God. |
@FXking, I have a little experience in research. To conduct a research you guide yourself by the objectives of the research after wards you come up with research hypothesis which most of the time is a null hypothesis meaning the hypothesis stems from the non existence of the object or relationship being researched. The Job of the reasearcher is to prove whether the null hypothesis holds true or false. So wether a researcher comes from the premise that is or there is no God, he should still arive at the same conclusion if the researcher is unbiased. I have read researches into the origin religion in which the researcher had an underlying opinion but by the time the research is being completed he had 180 degree turn. Even if the researcher is biased there would still be some elements of fact in their findings. What I am telling you is to read out of the box. I read a book by Thomas Paine and my eyes were open. TP's analysis were as objective as ever. I recommend you read the books just for knowledge sake. For your information, the news on TV now is about bombing incidences in Kaduna and even if they want to negotiate, is it acurse that is making them negotiate? The curse was meant to completely obliterate and anihilate how come the effect of the curse is badly watered down. I still maintain that is NOT and CANNOT be Oyedepo's curse. JTF members are risking their lives to keep all of us, including your bald headed Oyedepo, alive yet you are praising Oyedepo for the nonsensical noise he made. The pronouncement made by Jesus and Paul took immidiate effect how come Oyedepo's curse is taking months and the help of JTF to come to pass? |
Fxking, the book of Job that you cited, like many of the books of the prophets, are poems and not the story of any Historical personalty. You know what, try and do more research on the book called the bible. Read books and watch documentaries by authors who conducted unbiased objective research work and scrutiny on that book. Do not bury your head in the sand like the proverbial ostrich pretending as if the Bible is infallible. Even if it was truly inspired by the holy spirit, it was still written by Men. |
@FXKing2012, Where exactly in the Bible was it expressly written that a curse on Saul made him blind for three days? I said express not implied. Pls don't make me think you are twisting the bible to win arguments here. |
@Ea7, You want to break my head with laughter. But on a more serious note, the real reason why religion thrives especially in this part of the world is because of denial and intentional delusion. If christians would just go out of their way to read outside the box they would learn more. I read Age of Reason and Examination of The Prophecies both written by Thomas Paine and I cant help but wonder how Bible writters have succeeded in deluding humanity for Millenia. I will advice Nlanders to read these books with an open and they can tell me if they would not doubt their faoundational beliefs. |
In my opinion it is only the actions of these MOGs that should be condemned but when some folks begin the defend the very act that are at variance with uplifting human dignity which these so called MOGs perpetrate you can't help but explode in fury. When an MOGs slapped some defenceless lady you did not see anything wrong with that abi? I am trying to understand why people are afraid to speak and yet hate people who are bold enough to do so. They quote verses like touch not my annointed, or the part where a prophet called out wild animals to kill little children who called him bald or Miriam when she spoke bad about Moses. All these events have one thing in common=Old testaments events. In the new testament, we saw Jesus praying for those who killed, Steven doing the same thing and Paul telling us to owe no man nothing except to love him. How, come when it suits they refer to old testament and when its not they claim old testament is no longer valid in that context? Also, how Nairaland and Nairalanders are still arround all these years you people have been warning about the wrath of God? If you don't like the heat get out of the kitchen. Allow people to express themselves and trust me no wrath is coming on anyone because Bokites are still arround strategising on where next to bomb and your pastors still cant do nothing. |
@Goshen 360, True it is only the act that should be condemned but when some folks begin the defend the very act that are at variance with uplifting human dignity that these so MOGs perpetrate you can't help but explode in fury. When an MOGs slapped someone in public and people were making a case for him, even threatning those who spoke against this act, it got a lot more people irked. That said, I am trying to understand why people are afraid to speak and yet hate people who speak. They quote verses like touch not my annointed, or the part where a prophet called out wild animals to kill little children who called him bald or Miriam when she spoke bad about Moses. All these events have one thing in common=Old testaments events. I wonder why churches especially find it so difficult to give back to the same people they take from. Grace so amazing foundation printed and distributed millions of copies of WORD FOR TODAY free of charge. How come pastor chris and co find it difficult to do the same thing. Some of us were able to read the new testament bible as children because Gideons international made them available to us free of charge. Christianity in Nigeria is strictly for making money, nothing else. The word Modesty has lost its meaning as far as these pastors are concerned. |

Honestly, I wonder why anybody would think that it was Oyedepo's curse that caused the current problems in the Boko Haram organisation. If a monster is destroying a city and solders mount an attack to kill that monster, will it be justifiable if one of the senior millitary men involved start claiming that it was his own arrow that has weakened the monster even though the monster just attacked another village killing 100s of people. Why must it be about Oyedepo? Jesus cursed a tree and it dried up the next day, Oyedepo cursed Boko Haram and they bombed a church on Christmas day killing about 50 people and the next month they attacked a police station killing more than 200. Talk about a potent and effective curse! Even Oyedepo himself cannot firmly assert that his curses have any effect on the group. At the meeting held by Senior Christian leader in which Oyedepo, Adeboye and other prominent leader were in attendance, it was resolved that christians should defend themselves, why did Oyedepo not say 'My fellow MOG, I have placed a curse on these people, christians do not need to protect themselves because my curse will start killing them'. Rather, he, along with his collegues were shouting the mantra 'we will defend ourselves if attacked' .If these curses actually work, there would be no need for anybody to defend himself because the curse would have done the damage. Real life, verifiable, situations like these reveal the truth about what people profess and believe. If the workings of this event depended on a third party (like someone getting a job, or recovering from an illness) the blame for the inneficiency of the pronouncement would have been placed on the doorstep of the intended recipient, maybe he does not have enough faith. Today, the Emir of Sokoto has declared that Boko Haram must be stampped out. Some block headed reeeetard may still come out and say its because his pastor prayed mmscheeeew! |
