@MILITIA

I am not rich. I earn less than $10,000 annually and I know that is just a needle in your moneystack. I don't own a car, and I share a 2 bedroom apartment with my cousin. Does that really make me burgeois?

I do not condone anybody stealing money. My own father worked in the CBN as a senior manager for more than 10 and died with no car, 1 delapidated house, a N12,000 bank account and a denied insurance. So if he didn't steal government money, I see no reason why anybody should steal. I see people I don't know sometimes in my family house and they tell me my father was a great man. Supporting people like IBB is just as good as throwing mud on my family legacy. I never backed IBB, maybe you should read my posts carefully. All am saying is that we should not lend our voices to white elephant project that these people will use to embezzle another $100,000,000. Can you guys please tell me what the Oputa Panel achieved? What did it achieve?

What I am saying about this IBB issue is that nobody will bring him to book at this time. Even if they hear our clamours, they will put up a charade of a trial, at the end of the day, IBB will still go free. Can't you see what happened to the World Bank list. A paper released by the world bank itself, showing how many billions IBB stole. When things began to heat up, a whole world bank denied ever releasing that list.

If the almighty World Bank can connive with IBB to make evidence disappear, then who will stand to produce hard facts. You need hard facts to put a criminal away.

As for the Tinapa Project, I am not going there for vacation. I am going to seek freelance multimedia jobs at the Tinapa studios. I believe any Nigerian, rich or poor that goes to Tinapa to have fun is not only a fool with ill-gotten wealth, but is also is one defeating the very purpose Tinapa itself.

I don't believe governor Donald Duke is a thief. I know a lot of government officials that use their sweat and blood to keep this country going while the rest 90% keep tearing it down. With all that happened to Nigeria during the military rule, don't you wonder how it still remained alive? It is painful when you just pick one of these people out for punishment. You're sending a message out to everyone and the message is:
IF YOU DO BAD, YOU MAY BE PUNISHED. IF YOU DO GOOD, YOU WILL BE PUNISHED.

If Donald Duke is found to have mismanaged millions of Naira, I can still forgive him. But if he is found to have embezzled or stolen a single Naira, I will cast the first stone. I will be first in line calling for capital punishment for him. Not just because of the crime, but the guile with which he disguised it. But till the man has been found guilty, I trust him, and I believe he has contributed to the second most productive project Nigeria has embarked on in the last 20 years.

Thank you very much MILITIA.

UK Doctors have gone beserk O! Maybe it's the stress of the job that's getting to them. You are even complaining when you did not follow the case of Harold Shipman who killed more than 215 of his patients by injecting them with morphine. Please ensure to read the two links:

www.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/1431104.stm

www.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/1101480.stm

@JustGood

I've told them O! This farcical terrorist attack is just a scheme employed to ensure that Gordon Brown joins the anti-terror bandwagon.

From the first moment he took over from Blair, he's been talking about change. They don't want the kind of change that cost them the war in Vietnam so they arranged this whole thing to keep him from "CHANGING".

The problem now is that these so-called terrorist forgot to remember that there were CCTVs everywhere. So let's see how they'll blame this on Iran.

As you all know, Iran is now the new prominent enemy; The last man standing in the "axis of evil". So lets see how they'll pin this on Iran.

By the way, JustGood, I know most times I lace the truth with a bit of humour or theorising, but that's the only way you can break this kind of news to the lay masses without causing them trauma or putting them through cognitive dissonance.

Also, it's my field of work. I write scripts and draw storyboards for music videos. So sometimes its good practice. Putting together full Visual Stories from shreds of information. Did I also tell you that I was the only one who predicted that Abacha would die of semi-natural causes between 1998 and 2000?

So what am doing here is spinning conspiracy theories, but not before thoroughly considering the intelligence available.

So lets see, the presence of surveillance cameras has most probably foiled this "false flag" attack so the options are:

a) Gradually kill the case. Water down the news coverage on the story and secretly hand the agents back to the intelligence agency that sent them and accept their apologies. Afterall, no lives were lost.

b) Use this opportunity to twist the tale and implicate one or two of those belligerent Imams that won't just shut up. Associate them with Iran, and continue to carry the UK in this blind war against terror in which the true enemy is your ally.

Why is it that people are so blind to see? Was is not when the Spanish people started protesting that their government should withdraw from Iraq that the Madrid bombings occurred? So that they will see the reality of terror and continue to support the war against terror. Well, thank God they are Spanish. They didn't fall for that trick.

Even bin Laden himself is part of this war on terror. He started it, but where is he today? Enjoying the dividends of the high price of crude oil and oil lifting from Iraq. Why was Saddam easily caught and killed for admiring a crime while the criminal is still at large, living large.
Politics › Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by denex: 6:58am On Jul 03, 2007
Preach brother, preach. I keep telling them both they wouldn't listen. People want to look at the corruption of government officials only but have you taken time to look at the cancer that has eaten into the fabric of the masses?

Look at your average okada man or bus driver that sees every opportunity of misfortune as a chance to rip off Nigerians. There's traffic jam, 200% price increase, there is heavy rain and flooding, 200% increase. 5% rise in fuel price, 200% increase in cost of transport.

If you find yourself at Allen Roundabout in Ikeja, and somebody like Lucky Igbinedion bashes your car, engage in a fight with him, if these so called oppressed masses will not gather together and beat the life out of you for free.

Corruption is 100 times worse at the bottom, yet we accuse those at the top. IBB my arse! Not that he won't get his fair share of punishment but is he more corrupt than the average motor park chairman who would use union contributions to invite KWAM 1 to his party and spray dollars, while the union members will hail him and marvel at his extravagance like it's a good thing. Have we checked the corruption of the "owambe" proponents? That will block a government road with canopies to hold parties and cause severe hardship for commuters and road users who have to turn back and find alternative routes causing traffic standstills and accidents? Why on earth are they not in Jail?

You people want to create another intrigue for your home video-type drama addicted minds. Don't worry, I'm already writing that my proposal to the federal government for Oputa part II:

why is it that once people pitch their tent on one idea, they don't want to reason with the slightest bit of sense the other camp makes. I didn't say they don't give loans at all. I said they are very reluctant to give loans. Ask these importers how much interest they pay and the timeframe for repayment of the loans.

I said banks are reluctant to finance business projects. When I say such a thing, I'm not speculating. Ziddy said they've harmonised the currency markets. I really hope so because as at when I was ardently following this trend, most banks made 80% of their profits from round-tripping.

There is no time to do anybody's will that will not benefit Nigerians. nigeria has no time to waste. Even OBJ knew that once Yar becomes president, he will not listen to anyone including OBJ himself. That is why he put him there. So the story of first cabinet does not hold.

Thank God we Nigerians are still alive and are beginning to learn how to actively take part in running the government. Any of our Senators or Representatives that approves some "chop and clean mouth" Minister will be recalled.
Politics › Re: Good Things Happening In Nigeria by denex: 9:48pm On Jul 02, 2007
@Donzman

Banks ke? They are hardly interested in financing any project.

The business ALL Nigerian Banks engage in is ROUND-TRIPPING of the dollar.

When companies like MTN need foreign exchange to buy equipment from abroad, they request dollars from the CBN through their commercial banks. Being that the CBN subsidizes dollars for large scale importers to about N120/$1 instead of the actual price of N127, what the commercial banks do is that they collude with the customers to overstate the amount required.

If MTN needs $200million to import 3G equipment, the bank will ask them to state in their request that it is $400m. The bank will then combine their own N2.4billion with MTN's N2.4billion to buy the $400million from the CBN. Once the dollars have been acquired, they deliver MTN's $200million and sell their own $200million to bureaus de change quickly at a giveaway price of about N125/$1. That's a gain of N5 on each dollar. On the total $200million, thats a profit of N1,000,000,000 in one day. This is the real business that banks do cheating the Nigerian economy and making rubbish of the goodwill of the CBN's economic revival programs.

This is the reason why banks are reluctant to finance business projects. The amount of money given out as loans is just a shortage on what they can use for Round-Tripping. I just wanted to make that clear.

@topic, great things are happening in Nigeria just allow Calabar, Jos and Abeokuta to continue to open up so that the stress on Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt will ease. You will begin to see even greater things.
TV/Movies › Re: Nigerian TV vs. Foreign TV by denex: 9:04pm On Jul 02, 2007
When you say Nigerian TV vs. foreign TV, you have to be very specific.

STV, NTA and Channels television are Far better than most TV Stations in Ukraine, India, China, Jamaica, Uruguay. In fact, those TV Stations are better than most of the ones in South Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, the Caribean, South America and China (yes! Only few stations in China are tight.).

Nigerian TV Stations are only gradually Beginning to realise real revenue from the television business. There are billions to be made, yet they don't even know how. So if they are not making huge profits, you can't expect them to invest hugely in equipment.

@ronkarazo

The music industry will change the entire entertainment industry in Nigeria. However, I would prefer if Storm Entertainment, and Sound City devise a method through which people can be paid tokens for having their videos on TV. These videos cost millions sometimes.

Then again, our TV stations have to find a way of boycotting poor quality programming such as home videos, so that the producers of such programmes will improve.

@Afam

I hope you're a man of your words because I am going to collect on this.

davidylan is actually a good kid. He used to be so bright, so full of life, he had a lot of Arab and Muslim friends. In fact when US refused to work with Hamas after they won their elections, davidylan was among those who complained that America was being unfair. He berated George Bush for turning his back at a freely and fairly installed democracy. He even challenged George Bush's claim of trying to bring democracy to Iraq and Afghanistan because of George Bush's refusal to accept the democratically elected Hamas government.

This same young man was somebody that cried out and question where the US got the right to invade another man"s country and imposed their own brand of "freedom".

This is a young man who protested against the USA using its nuclear power to intimidate other nations and preventing these other nations from nuclear research while itself, the USA stockpiled a great nuclear arsenal. How could he now be so gone?

What I am trying to do is locate the point at which this honest, unbiased young man turned 360 to what we have today. I envision some sort of trauma. Maybe the loss of a loved one, maybe Shanon, or firsthand experience of a terrorist attack or initiation by some kind of brainwashing underground group. Perhaps a combination of all of the above. Because he has changed a lot from what God prepared him to be.

By the time I'm able to pinpoint the problem, a solution won't be farfetched.

I urge you Afam to join hands with me, just like in "The Matrix", we need to liberate this mind and bring him to reality. I tell you, davidylan is a formidable asset to those who seek truth all over the world, once his mind can be freed and disinformed.

@davidylan

I thought they were your lies and manipulations? Maybe I should remind you of them. I certainly will repost them below. Meanwhile which new tale is taking you four days to spin? Are you cooking up the mother of all lies? Or you're searching for new vocabulary terms, or maybe you've consulted Rabbi Cal "The Hitler" Thomas and he hasn't replied you yet on what to say.

So I remind you below again so that ye might make it clear who the truth twister is, and so as to make your habit of multiple quoting totally unnecessary. I hope you now see how tasking it is when you produce information from scratch rather than bulking up your stories with quotes.

reQUOTE:

Since you have chosen to make a fool out of yourself, I will make sure you spare no detail so I take you to the very beginning where you bring word from the great CAL THOMAS. My first question is:

Who The Hell Is Cal Thomas? For somebody like you who does not find information from Wikipedia, it beats me that you would find this Cal Thomas as a fountain of knowledge. Em, is this not the same Cal Thomas that has called for "ethnic cleansing in Israel"? By the way, those were his exact words. Goodluck to you and your fascist Rabbi.

It remained the same you who postulated that it was inconceivable for Fatah loyalist trapped in Gaza to attempt a crossing to the West Bank through Israel. You suggested there was a better short-cut through Egypt. At one point you even went further to mention Iran and Syria.

And then only you say Israel has been around for thousands of years, the same you again will say Israel was a few days old when it was attacked by Arabs. So you switch to the history which best fits your concocted fairytale at any point in time. And by the way, I've tried to Educate you that Emperor Hadrian never named that land Palestine. The man translated the ancient Greek name of Syria Phillaistina to a new Roman name of Provincia Syria Palaestina. How could he have just named it Palestine?! Was he English? Just because you want to erode history to fit your machinations, you are willing to endorse emperor Hadrian with lingual versatility. Well carry on. And I reckon it was the same you who told your buddy Mariory that

"JEWS WERE ALSO PALESTINIANS".

So you just believe you are in the Matrix where you can bend facts to suit the fable you want to spin at the moment. Then when you want to spin a new tale, you'd say Palestine never existed. How many mouths do you have?

For the record, I'd like to state that the fact that some of us type large volumes to post here does not necessarily mean it is a criterion for anyone trying to take part in this debate. As it has come to my notice that in an attempt for you to make your posts seem voluminous and thereby allow you feel among, you keep quoting, unquoting, and requoting, in order to make yourself seem intelligent, but when you finally get the chance to post your own little contribution, it stinks to high heavens of ignorance.

Then you never miss your tactical stun words: "PROPAGANDA", "TRIPE", "SPEW". They don't make you seem any less dumb than you are. Carry on with you "Word of the day dictionary" but I promise you, it will not reduce the amount fiction in your posts. By the way, I see your new term of the day is "oh what a tool", "ah what a tool" the thing is becoming a cliche in my eyes. USING WORD OF THE DAY DICTIONARY TERMS WILL NOT CHANGE YOUR LIES TO TRUTHS!

It was you who said JUDAISM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WORD JEW.

It is you who said BEING A JEW IS MERELY A NATIONALITY. Pray tell, a nationality of where? Jewpita?

Then did you stop there? No you went further, yes you said CATHOLICS CLAIM TO BE CHRISTIANS TOO.

But more was yet to come. You asserted a definition for Jews: JEWS ARE PEOPLE BORN IN ISRAEL! With this I had to asked you if the 6 million people killed by Hitler were Buddhists. But maybe they aren't maybe they are Sango worshippers.

You with your own leprous fingers typed on a thread that Provincia Syria Palaestine existed since the 5th century BC. Same you exclaimed again that the land of Palestine did not exist till 134 AD. The same you are MAD for these various contortions of fact. Or are you 2 individuals using one ID? Abi you have Multiple Personality Disorder? Because I can put out any better explanation on how you will say the sun rises from the east, then next minute you will say it's the west and you will want to sound sincere at both instances.

Only you said all Christians are Jews by virtue of spirituality. Then moments later, you vehemently declared, and I will never forget, that: MANY CHRISTIANS ARE JEWS AND MANY JEWS ARE CHRISTIANS.
Now you have watered it down to SOME JEWS ARE CHRISTIANS AND SOME CHRISTIANS ARE JEWS. Well you're gradually getting there. I know one day you will argue that NO JEWS ARE CHRISTIANS AND NO CHRISTIANS ARE JEWS. You will get there someday, and I know it's going to be soon.

Then there are other fallacies like ISRAELIS ARE JEWS!

You keep begging us to point out your lies but we try to avoid causing any embarrassment. However, this time you've begged so much that I had to oblige you.

You made it absolutely clear that you care less about Nigeria, and are more interested in the US(because you probably stay there) and Israel(because your tax dollars are going there). Why don't you take your jargonized thought pattern, and take all you teachings from Rabbi Hitler aka Cal Thomas the ethnic cleanser, bounce off Mount Carmel, and dive into the Great Canyon. Stop bringing your dog crap to NAIRALAND!
