@angel101 I don't know why you're trying so hard to catch my attention. If its some kind of courtship thing, it won't get you anywhere. You have been all up in my grill following all my posts, checking up on my profile, attacking my opinions, showing logical prowess at dissecting my posts. So I really have to ask, what do you want with me? Take it easy and I hope you find what you seek, just as I hope it isn't me. Take care. |
I will not die O! In fact I will live long to ensure that the principles, dreams and aspirations that my spouse died for a fulfilled. |
I believe its better to know that to imagine. I think you shouldn't even check your partners phone secretly. Let them know you want to know who's taking interest in them. I and my girlfriend, we used to check each others text messages and stuff till it got to a point that she'd even show me by herself. Sometimes though, she may want to keep secrets. Thats when some 007 skills come in handy. |
@angel101 Em, a Brazilian was shot only 7 times in his head by the UK police just for being a Brazilian on suspicion of having and expired visa. And you haven't even heard the sad part yet. Turns out his documents were still intact. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4713753.stm |
@Esss You no dey try at all O! So you let NEPA men bully you? I beat up one NEPA guy 3 months ago and seized their handgloves and some equipment when they threatened to cut my line before I was due for disconnection. Of course I wasn't alone. I called out my neighbour, who by chance is a bad ass exUNIBEN boy like myself. Only last month, they came to install the new meter which is like 5 times cheaper than the old ones. No bill estimation, no fixed charge, no never maintenance fee, no cost of installation. It comes with free N2000 credit. It's simply amazing. And I still plan to get NEPA to refund the total of N42,000 excess I paid during the estimation regime. @topic The power sector is going to improve by at least 300% between December 2007 and June 2008. So lets keep working towards that. Power is our major problem and if Yar'Adua cannot tackle the power problem in one year with what OBJ left behind, then he should gerrooouuutt! |
When Carlos is in a coma, he's making money. |
Considering the 5% VAT, even a day old baby pays taxes for wearing Pampers. There are things that the government should do, like I wouldn't advise anybody to build an interstate railway line. The cost of purchasing land for it alone is impossible. I am totally against government helping businesses by banning or subsidizing, but they should play their own role in providing what we pay taxes for. Thats my word. |
The man is as insignificant in Nigeria as the price of of pina colada. |
I think this is the first time of my life on Nairaland that I can't tell which is better. I personally prefer Nanya, but this is not about my personal opinion. It's about who is a truly better mc. I believe if you give them 4 hours each straight in the booth, Dan Foster will catch your interest more. Even when he's saying rubbish. Though Nanya spits more knowledge and sounds sweeter, but I'd have to give it to Dan Foster. He's more fun. So I haven't actually broken my streak of being opinionated. Dan it is! |
@aisha I really don't think Esss overstepped the boundary of what government should do. They collect taxes for a reason. 1) government should put proper legislature in place to facilitate business development 2) government should construct roads, airports and railways so that businesses can easily transport goods, services and personell. 3) government should enhance security and strengthen the police. 4) The government should restructure educational curricula to fit the labour force requirements of the Nation. 5) The government should reform tax laws to reduce excess taxation and remove multiple taxation. 6) The government should equip and facilitate the standards organization of Nigeria to scrutinize and maintain quality and standards in the economy. Surely, this is not too much for the government to do. If they can't do any of these, then I think they should remit our taxes back to us and apologise. |
Meet the Saharareporters. Your reliable source of Rumour. Recently, it has gradually come reality that there remains only one sure source of hearsay. If you're still reading City People or PM News, then you most definitely haven't heard of SaharaReporters. Despite their desperate attempt to get your attention. SaharaReporters is Mr Okey Ndibe. He has gathered a bunch of jobless Nigerian youths and they have vowed to hold The entire Nigeria to Ransom. They have taken on a MEND-styled assault. However, rather than M-16 rifles and Rocket Propelled Grenades, they have carefully selected lies, deceit and blackmail as their working tools. Instead of holding foreign oil workers hostage, they have chosen to hold the integrity and reputations of prominent Nigerians hostage and threatened to smear their image and ruin their careers. |
Who the hell want to resurrect this thread again? Are you trying to prove the prophecy that "dry bones shall rise again?" |
There's genuinely serious work going on in trying to restore Power by the end of this year so please, yall should take heart. |
There is absolutely no shred of poetry in General Muhammadu Buhari! |
I am really not much interested in being friends with my exes. In fact, I do my very best to avoid them for at least the first year after the break-up. Most times, I believe they've gone into the world and seen that there's actually none in the whole wide world better than me so they're basically wanting to get back together and that's not true friendship. Well, I'm currently friends with one of my exes, I'm avoiding one right now (not picking her calls not going around her place and not replying her texts) but I'm hoping we can get back together sometime soon. The rest, they're all my arch enemies. They broke up with me simply because I was too much of a nice guy. Well, now they know what the real world is like. |
@Mamajama stop this. Don't tell me that decrees are not laws. |
@MT You wan follow me fight "Rofor-Rofor" fight abi? I-man don say make I rest, I don rest. Which one be ya own? |
It's impossible for Ghadafi to lead the Union of the Nations of Africa. Libya has contributed cash prizes to some African leaders, but has not contributed to the generality of African development. The Union would be headed by an OLIGARCHY of Vice-Presidents of Different African Countries which will be rotated every year. |
I talk am say wetin Nigerians wan see na home video. People dey follow me argue. Shebi one of them don begin advocate for the IBB saga to be scripted along the lines of a Mario Puzo flick. |
Puffy doesn't make beats per se. He just puts his name on the work of his underproducers and calls himself the Executive producer. Please you people should not smear the all time greatest producer by comparing him with the likes of Puffy. |
@Mamajama at this time in civilization, it is indecent for any living organism in its right mind to quote PM News. Did you read the story? Our sources said, our sources claimed, what kind of rubbish guessing and rumour mongering is that? This same PM News that has featured headlines with young Nigerian girl pictured naked after they refused to yield to cash sum blackmails? Mamajama, you pass this level O! |
Nuhu Ribadu and Umaru Musa Yar'Adua are well meaning, hardworking Nigerians who allowed themselves to be used by OBJ in order to get to a position where they can effect change. There might be someone somewhere who could do the job better than Ribadu, but that person is going to be hard to find. I think the man should continue in the EFCC. Yar'Adua should surround himself with like minds and Ribadu should make peace with those he haunted with no intention of taking them to court. He must also go and beg Mike Adenuga to return to the country because his businesses are not doing well at all. However, I must say I am disappointed at the way upright Nigerians allow themselves and their integrity to be compromised. During one of the PDP Rallies, I saw Dora Akunyili wearing customised PDP Ankara. It is wrong. The fact that you work for the government doesn't mean you have to be a party member. I also watched Ribadu addressing the Senate towards the end of the last administration and he made a comment like: THE PRESIDENT DECIDES WHO WILL BE PUNISHED or THE PRESIDENT DECIDES WHO WILL BE PROSECUTED. That is terribly wrong. And none of the 109 senators could even correct him. I hope he realises he has no master to serve anymore so he should put his effort to accomplishing what he set out for from the start. If this whole scheme is to make a way for him to become IG of Police, he should reject it because he will definitely fail. He must first succeed in little EFCC before he can be qualified to head the almighty NPF. God save Nigeria. PS: There are four refineries in South Africa. So Obasanjo owns one, Ibori owns one, Atiku owns one, and perhaps IBB owns the last one. So where do you put CALTEX, SHELL, BP and SASOL? Nigerians you people like home video twists and turns too much. I will say this for those who have been going about saying rubbish: THERE ARE ONLY 4 REFINERIES IN SOUTH AFRICA, AND NO NIGERIAN OWNS SHARES IN ANY OF THEM!!! |
The relevance of The King of all Terrorists has waned so much that many virtually ignore him or do not consider him as a force to reckon with in the wider WAR AGAINST TERROR. So where exactly is the man that started it all? What has become of him. Does bin Laden still have any significance in The War Against Terror? Why has bin Laden suddenly become so marginalized in this war? Well, these were the questions put to The Man in the Forefront of this Anti-Terror Campaign, no other than George W. Bush himself, during a White House Interview. Below is a link to a transcript of the interview, where you can also download the Video and Audio files if you so desire. So let's see what he had to say. www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/03/20020313-8.html |
Reading Machiavelli's book is even too far. A US court recently sentenced Scooter Libby to jail but today, George Bush has said the man will not go to jail and there's nothing anybody can do about it. |
The rankings have changed. The explosion of the telecomms market has made the Mexican ICT mogul's total worth to rise to $67billion. About $9billion better off than Bill Gates. Though both men remain stupendously rich, this is merely a matter of classification. Carlos Slim is of a Lebanese father, and his surname Slim is actually a modification of his fathers real name: Salim. So it's not only in Nigeria that the Lebanese are running the economy, its now the whole world. |
We too have now been declared business terrorists and the US has decided to abolish our freedom of association. They will soon invade us for having one of the World's Massive Deposits (WMD) of oil. I do believe the US has the right to do this, because it will be proved by some members of this forum. Here they come. Proponents of |
I have seen Nigerians invent cures for HIV/AIDS, Helicopters and whatever else. Well, let them go sell their intentions in the open market. If it sells well, we'll buy it. There are 4 good years to the next Nigerian elections so we have much time to sit and watch the progress of this intention round the world. Brigadier General Oviemo Ovadje invented a blood transfusion and recycling machine. Phillip Emeagwali invented the fastest computer in the world. They did not cut Nigeria a special deal, they sold their intentions in the open market. Now it is possible to buy computers with Emeagwali's intention anywhere in the world. So let the likes of Mr Ben Aghanya and Dr Abalaka should go into the world with their inventions. Do they see Bill Gates taking his inventions to the US government? Nigeria has made its stand since the beginning of the new millenium that it will favour a free market economy so any inventor is free to sell to the highest bidder. This is not the old Soviet Union where the government was sole proprietor of all of its citizen's scientific inventions. e(lectro mechanical)-voting system. e-voting system. What the Bleep is the difference? |
Please you people should go and sue IBB. Don't you know that in Law it is allowed for you to sue somebody that has infringed on you, directly or indirectly? Why are you people wasting time? Why must you guys drag our government into it. Why do you people want to drag our bouncing baby democracy into it. It's almost the same bunch of you that said the government is illegitimate. Then you want to give it such a legitimate task. This looks like a grand plot to put this newly, truly true civilian government at loggerheads with the ex-generals. Kinda like a precedence to a military coup. Please you people should take IBB to court on your own. The rest of us and our new found truly democratic government will take our time and deal with this in the future. |
Its the new aunty-corruption slogan in Nigeria: IF YOU DO BAD, YOU MAY BE PUNISHED. IF YOU DO GOOD, YOU WILL BE PUNISHED. I have said it before in this forum that even if God should come down to rule this country, he will regret. |
